Presently Beta 2 testing should commence in later August, and site live later in September.
Ignoring the results (as the contents are known from the recent trading statement and accounted for) the major turning point I believe will be the successful Beta testing. This will allow a more in depth look at the products, and also mean that the live site launch is confirmed late September.

Fingers crossed this is the turn.
Beta testing has been completed now, successful, which is great news, and Beta 2 testing starts in August, which should roll on to soft launch and final launch :)
All going to plan, lets hope that by March 07 we are looking at an SP above 50p, which it should be on success of the project start up.

PLW could be an attractive take over, low market cap, diversify into 3d technolgy????????????????
Online gaming predators look to mirror PartyGaming
Thu 03 Aug, 2006 14:07
By Pete Harrison
LONDON (Reuters) - PartyGaming's acquisition of Gamebookers could be the model for other deals this year in Europe as Internet gaming groups seek to diversify away from the United States and take advantage of low share prices in the sector.
About $2 billion (1 billion pounds) was wiped off the value of London-listed gaming stocks in a few days last month, after the FBI moved to shut down the U.S. operations of BETonSPORTS.
Shares in the sector, with sales of $12 billion a year, are also suffering the impact of legislation in Congress aimed at banning Internet gaming altogether.
But sector leader PartyGaming is still increasing revenues at around 50 percent a year and about $1 billion is wagered on its PartyPoker website each week.
On Thursday the group announced a move into online sports betting with the 102 million-euro purchase of Antigua-licensed and Bulgaria-operated Gamebookers.
"Valuations in the sector are attractive relative to underlying growth rates," said Investec analyst Matthew Gerard. "PartyGaming and 888 Holdings have been keen to move into non-U.S. sports betting for some time."
One London banker said that uncertainty in the United States had put a hold on any deals that involved U.S. business, but Europe was still considered safe.
"The U.S. situation heightens demand to diversify away from there, and there are gaming deals being worked on right now in Europe, both online and offline," he said.

Excapsa seeks new buys
Wed Aug 16, 2006 11:54 AM BST
LONDON (Reuters) - Online gaming company Excapsa Software Inc. (XCPq.L: Quote, Profile, Research) remains intent on buying a casino software developer after swinging into the black with its interim results, said Chief Executive Jim Ryan.
"We are actively pursuing casino software -- we would like to buy a casino software developer and extend our offering," he told Reuters in an interview.
Canada-based Excapsa flagged its aim to make an acquisition and broaden its casino-style games offering after floating on Alternative Investment Market in February.
Earlier Wednesday, Excapsa posted pretax net income of $16.8 million (9 million pounds) for the six months to the end of June after a loss of $431,000 a year ago.
The turnaround came after Excapsa renegotiated a licensing deal for poker software with eWorld, operator of UltimateBet.com.
Based on proforma figures, which calculate 2005's figures had the deal been in place for the full year, the company posted a 27 percent rise in net income.
Ryan said he did not expect the U.S. court action against former BETonSPORTS (BSS.L: Quote, Profile, Research) Chief Executive David Carruthers to have a long-term impact on the sector.
BETonSPORTS removed Carruthers from his job following his detention in Texas last month on racketeering charges, triggering a widespread sell-off in online gaming stocks. Lawmakers in the United States are seeking to outlaw most forms of Internet gambling.
He believes the U.S. will seek to increase legislation to control online gaming rather than seek to ban it altogether.
Ryan said Excapsa intends to launch an online blackjack tournament in the third quarter following the recent launch of poker games that can be played on mobile phones.
Shares in Excapsa were up 1.6 percent to 62-1/2 pence in midday trading, valuing the company at around 124 million pounds.
"We are quite bullish and optimistic the legislation will not pass in this session of Congress," said Ryan

Certainly was a strong end to Friday trading, not normal for such an end of week rise unless there are leaks of news this coming week. Cannot think of anything else they are supposed to announce, so would guess that the marketing campaign must start this coming week or next, taking it they will start marketing ahead of the site launch to generate interest.
If those who are short a few million shares now start to close them up (they have plenty of time from throwing out in the 30's, but nobody likes to lose profit), then there could be a strong rise back to the 20p levels this month of September imo.

Well, I've been playing on the Playwize poker site all evening.
I had no problems with the download. I have never played online poker before, but for a beginner the tutorial and the online environment were great. I suspect that the site will appeal greatly to the masses who want to start out playing for small stakes.
For me as a beginner the odds calculators etc worked really well. The stakes that can be played also go so low that lots of fun can be had for very little money, which was great.
The 3D thing was a huge attraction for me. I found myself trying to psych out the players based on what they looked like, and mentally built up personalities for several. I found some Northern Chav particularly annoying, and would have happily set fire to him in his tracksuit, software permitting. This was somewhat harsh, as for all I know he could well have been a little old lady;-)
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed taking two and a half hours to make $5. It was an altogether more profitable venture for me than PLW has been so far;-)))
I couldn't be more happy with the product at this stage."

Right we have been on about genuine institutional interest. i believe we have some, very small at the moment but nevertheless i believe Morgan Stanley were the buy of 150K yesterday.
I have mentioned a number of times that on bloomberg you can see where brokers and banks put out indicators for size they want to trade. IIRA if anyone here has access to a bloomberg. Well on that screen yesterday Morgan Stanley put out an indication for 150,000 shares. The only trade i see in time and sales for that size y'day was at 14p, and booked after hours as broker to broker. The market was never 14p bid y'day 14p was the mid price on the open therefore i do NOT believe the transaction to be a sell. I also believe that Winterfloods were the other side of that trade. Now if MS do have an interest i wouldn't be suprised to see the mm's hold the share down until they got what they want (buggers did that on SEG as a lot of the gents here will verify). I will check that screen everyday to se if Morgan Stanley show any further interest.

v0d00child - 19 Sep'06 - 21:06 - 1543 of 1544
Check it out...
It should be a "bells and whistles" launch with a full marketing campaign including press, PR and TV coverage.
To be honest its the speed of the game that really impresses me. Pokerwize have proved that it is possible to have good 3D graphics, with advanced camera angles and fun features within the game to increase communication at the tables and bring real enjoyment to the game, while at the same time maintaining the volume of hands with a very high hourly hand rate.
Will they use the Pokerwize software as the official client to be used for all their Prima poker gaming firms, thereby replacing the current rather pathetic 2D client that is fairly average, even by 2D standards? Is an arrangement already in place between the firms, and if not why not? I'm smelling the money already...

TompoL - 21 Sep'06 - 10:38 -
I'm a long term holder. Although I very rarely post here I am a constant lurker and post fairly regularly on PLW on Michael Walters.
I've been playing the game since it was first softlaunched a couple of weeks back and love it. However, last night it dawned on me I had nothing to compare it with.
So last night, with the wife and two kids safely tucked up in bed, I set up accounts with what I understand to be the main competition and played each for half an hour.
I am now utterly convinced about the merits of the PLW version. In comparision the others were slow and user interfaces dreadful. Prior to last night I felt I was over exposed to PLW. I've now decided to "raise just a little".
Roll on 1st October.
Best of luck
TompoL.

Plans to turn Britain into a world leader in internet gambling have been drawn up by ministers, according to internal Whitehall documents, the Sunday Times reports.
In stark contrast to America, where online gambling has in effect been outlawed, ministers want to attract offshore companies to Britain. New legislation will lift the current ban on online gaming businesses in Britain from next year.

France, Italy, Austria Told to Open Gaming to Foreign Companies
2006-10-12 06:10 (New York)
By John Rega
Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Italy, France and Austria received
European Union warnings to open their gambling industries to
foreign companies or face lawsuits in Europe's highest court.
The gambling cases have gained urgency with the Sept. 15
arrests in France of two executives from BWIN Interactive
Entertainment AG, an Internet bookmaker based in Austria. The
executives, who have been released from custody, are charged
with violating local gambling laws. The company has said French authorities were acting on a complaint by the country's gaming monopoly Francaise des Jeux.
The European Commission, the EU's executive branch in
Brussels, issued the warning to the three countries in a written statement today.
The cases expand the commission's campaign against
obstacles to competition within the 25-nation EU. The agency
says removing internal borders for business has created more
than 2.5 million jobs and 877 billion euros ($1.1 trillion) of wealth since 1993.
PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP estimated the 2005 total gaming
market in Austria at $485 million, with $3.1 billion in France and $603 million in Italy. Italy is in the midst of opening up its gaming market to foreign operators by licensing more sports betting and horse racing shops and so-called ``remote gaming'' by Internet and telephone.

Double Fusion Ups the Ante, Increases Reach with Playwize Online Poker Game
In-Game Ad Leader Capitalizes on the Enormous Growth and Popularity in Poker with Playwize's Poker Game
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading independent in-game advertising company Double Fusion has further increased the number of games available to its advertiser and agency partners by signing with Playwize Plc to place advertising into its new PC game, Playwize Poker and online game Pokerwize.
Capitalizing on the current international poker craze, Double Fusion's partnership with Playwize further broadens the network's reach to a wider demographic of gamers for the in-game ad company's advertiser partners. Playwize plans to generate huge awareness of the game's launch through a structured roll-out program in conjunction with a number of media outlets.
The game features a totally immersive 3-D environment that includes integrated voice chat and live advice from professional poker players. The most popular poker variations are offered, including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and Five Card Stud. The game's innovative interface creates the most realistic playing environment in an online poker game, allowing players to do everything from raising and lowering bets to taunting rivals, bluffing and even flirting with fellow players.
The agreement will also serve to enhance gamers' experience by making immersive 3D environments more authentic through the integration of brands that players would expect to see in the real world. Players can customize their on-screen avatars from a selection of different player models and outfits, offering unique branding possibilities.
Double Fusion continues to grow our network so that our advertiser partners are reaching the largest, most diverse set of eyes, and not simply reaching the same gamers again and again, said Jonathan Epstein, CEO of Double Fusion. By partnering with Playwize, the creators of one of the most innovative and realistic online poker experiences, the strength of our network increases exponentially.
With Playwize, we've sought to create the next generation in poker games. The variety of gameplay available and the quality 3D settings truly transport gamers from their desks to the poker room, said Foo Katan, CEO of Playwize Plc. Double Fusion's understanding of the gamer experience and their ability to perfectly partner advertiser to game title and ad opportunity will extend the game's realism even further.
Double Fusion is committed to offering its advertiser and agency partners the widest array of advertising opportunities available from any in-game advertising company, to maximizing revenues for its publisher and developer partners, and to building a portfolio of top titles among retail PC and console games, massively multiplayer online games, casual downloadable games, and advanced online games.
Advertisers interested in opportunities within the Double Fusion network, and developers and publishers interested in increasing their per-title revenues through integrated and dynamic ad placement opportunities should visit www.doublefusion.com.

opmoc - 12 Jan'07 - 14:05 - 4461 of 4461
I have recently increased my position at what I consider to be a very good price, for several reasons.
1. This is in effect a start-up company where large investors have injected significant capital at a share price considerably above current levels.
2. The business has gone live and appears to be well on target - and may even be ahead of target.
3. I believe the share price is suppressed for reasons completely unconnected with the progress of the company. These are
(a) US legislation which is almost completely irrelevant as the company never had any plans to target the US market.
(b) The assumption that there would be significant equity dilution at current levels due to the Headstart facility.
(c) Due to (b) I believe that there is in effect a significant short position - maybe even by Headstart or associates. (if I was in the same business as Headstart that is exactly what I would do in order to hedge my own financial position)
4. Foo is no fool. As he himself has very significant equity exposure, he would be highly unlikely to put this at risk of serious dilution. In his original business plan he will or (should have) already raised sufficient capital in order for the company to go live and become cash flow positive assuming that conservative targets were met.
5. If there is no equity dilution, the short positions will need to be closed, and this is a very illiquid stock. The shorts will only be able to be closed at whatever price existing holders are prepared to sell at. I believe most holders of this stock are long term, as true value is highly unlikely to be realised for at least a couple of years.
6. I believe that the capital injected into this company has been well used and not wasted as is the case with many similar companies of this size.
7. I believe the company has significantly more inherent value, than is indicated by its tiny Market Cap.
8. The details of the deal with Partouche have not been revealed but may be significantly better than has been assumed.
This remains a high risk investment, but I think it likely that the shareprice will be considerably higher than current levels in a couple of years time. They could of course go bust in which case I will lose my entire investment - but I think the odds are worth taking balancing the upside potential with the risk of total failure.

Hi PP, I first held this stock a couple of years ago under the name of Bits corp. Currently prices are about a quarter of what I got out at, and I am considering holding again, purely out of my profits, therefore gaining a free ride. You suggested several reasons for why you think the price has been supressed. The one thing that slightly concerns me is, that if you can download pokerwise for free, how is the company going to make money from it. Is the only incentive the cash prizes.

In case anyone is wondering how to enter the Pokerwize Monday Night TV Freeroll 500$ tomorrow, as they have not played these tournements before, here is a guide, I have highlighted the "click" area in Green Boxes :
Open up Pokerwize and go to "Play Online"
Then in the Main Lobby Area (if not already) then click on "Change View" and change so you get the classive view, as below -
In the classic view, you can "Choose Your Game" with the left hand menu, so here, click on "TV"
In the TV sub menu that opens click on "Scheduled Tournements"
Then in the "Scheduled Tournements" sub menu click on "Multi Table"
Now in the big "Choose your game" middle menu you'll see the 2 TV tournements for Pokerwize, one on the 22nd and one on the 29th, both free to enter but with cash prizes, and also being shown on TV.
So click on which one your want to enter, and then in the right hand side, click on "Tournement Lobby"
One in the Tournement Lobby, click on the "Join/Leave" button which will then ask if you wish to register.
Now, you can go back to the main lobby and also register for the 29th Take Sports TV Freeroll tournement as well, by clicking that one, and entering the password "TVWIZE" when requested during the register process.
You'll see in the Tournement Lobby area the time until the game starts, once you are registered all you have to do is have Pokerwize open and Play Online at the starting time, and the game windown will automatically open for your to start playing, at the tournement start time, its that simple..........
Hope that helps !!!

Progress, thats what I like to see.
The Monday 5th Feb Pokerwize evening 500$ add on TV Tourney is now advertised on the website and also they have the link there showing how to register.
http://www.pokerwize.com/email_template/tvlink.html
Its a 5$ tourney, so costs 5$+50c to enter (total 5.5$). Its a Freezeout, which means you have your chips at the start, and you cannot rebuy or add on any further chips during the tourney.
Its also a 500$ prize pool add on, which means the prize pool starts at 500$, and to this is added all the 5$ entry fee's, so the prize pool to win is larger (with the equivalent of 100 players entry fee's in for nothing).
Anyway, its nice to see Playwize listening, learning and getting things improved, well done there.

Interesting for the sector :
Post from AFN :
the analyst - 23 Feb'07 - 11:10 - 5699 of 5699
LONDON (AFX) - Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown will announce plans in next month's Budget to encourage the beleaguered online gambling industry to be regulated and licensed by the UK government, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The newspaper did not reveal its source, but said the Chancellor will use the Budget to announce that in return for a small amount of tax -- possibly as low as 2 or 3 pct -- companies can obtain a UK licence and still remain based overseas. The new tax will be called Remote Gaming Duty. This compromise would allow gambling companies to avoid British VAT.
The Treasury has long had its eye on the potential tax revenues that are generated by the likes of PartyPoker, 888 Holdings PLC, Ladbrokes PLC and other gaming companies that are based in Gibraltar and other offshore centres.
From September the companies will be allowed for the first time to relocate to the UK and obtain a licence under the Gambling Act. However, all companies have said they would never relocate to the UK if they had to pay a tax on gross wins as high street casinos do. Bricks-and-mortar casinos pay tax of up to 40 pct depending on their size, the newspaper said.
Crucially, the exact rate has yet to be decided but John O'Reilly, the head of online gambling at Ladbrokes said he was pleased with the deal. "It's quite a breakthrough," he is reported as saying
He confirmed that if the rate was less than 3 pct Ladbrokes would almost certainly sign up for a UK licence. "We want to be regulated by the UK government." The company's online gaming division generates 100 mln stg, so the move would generate between 2 mln and 3 mln stg for the Treasury.
The Treasury's willingness to embrace online gambling is in sharp contrast to the authorities in the United States, which last year launched a drastic crackdown on the industry.

UIGEA NEWS ALERT - from egrmagazine.com 14/03/2007
The office of US Congressman Barney Frank, who is chairman of the House financial services committee, has confirmed that he is currently working on legislation to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
The news item appeared this afternoon on the Financial Times website and has been confirmed to eGaming Review by Franks press department. The details of how any repeal would take action have not been worked out and no timeframe was given.
Frank is quoted as describing last autumns Act as one of the stupidest laws ever passed and adds: I am working on legislation to cut back on this internet gambling thing I think its preposterous.
While rumours of Barney Franks support for a repeal of the Act had been circulating around the egaming industry in the past few weeks, Frank himself had not confirmed or commented on them. Shares in PartyGaming, 888 and Sportingbet were all up this afternoon.
The FT says the mid-term Democratic victory in the US Congress brought some hope to the online gaming sector and John Conyers, chairman of the House judiciary committee, is also considered sympathetic to the industry.
But while Frank and Conyers are powerful potential allies, it is far from clear that the lawmakers would have enough support to pass any meaningful legislation because it is not clear whether the votes would be there for a regulatory bill.
The FT adds that the US treasury is currently drafting the rules to implement the Act but that the deadline for presenting them has been missed and is now expected in April or May.

Playwize plc
15 March 2007
Trading Statement
Playwize plc ('Playwize' or the 'Company') confirms that the Company expects to
report full year results for the financial year ending 31 March 2007 which are
significantly below market expectations.
The financial performance has been impacted by a number of factors relating to
the roll out of the Company's product Pokerwize:
Disappointing installation rates and subsequent conversion into real money
players from the mass market release of 650,000 disks;
A lower than anticipated installation rate from a specialised mail shot
campaign; and
Fewer direct downloads from the Company's website than anticipated.
While the Company has seen growth both in the number of downloads and in real
money players in recent months, the rate of progress continues to be
significantly behind previous expectations.
The Board also considers that the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act 2006 in September 2006 by US Congress, while not directly
affecting the Company's operating activities, has had a material impact on
Playwize's ability to market its Pokerwize product.
Although the Company continues to pursue attractive marketing and distribution
agreements to increase the take-up of Pokerwize, these and other ongoing
initiatives will take time to implement and to have a beneficial impact on the
Company's financial performance.

News, and to be expected too that they would go the licensing route. They have a great product, just could never launch it properly due to no marketing budget. Therefore, licensing offers the best route to them.
Will be interesting to see where this goes now.
Playwize Notice of EGM
RNS Number:4930W
Playwize PLC
14 May 2007
Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting
Playwize plc ('Playwize' or 'the Company'), the AIM listed developer of software for the entertainment industry, announces that it has posted a circular to its shareholders convening an Extraordinary General Meeting ("EGM") of the Company to be held at 11-13 Cricklewood Lane, London, NW2 1ET on Monday 4 June 2007 at 9.00am, concerning:
* The increase in the authorised share capital of the Company.
* The raising of additional capital.
* The directors' ability to issue and allot relevant securities.
* The non application of section 89(1) of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) in the allotment authority being sought.
The Board has recently resolved to undertake a new commercial strategy for the company's online poker product whereby it intends to pursue licensing arrangements with various online poker rooms to licence the Company's internet poker technology. Under the proposed licenses, a licensee will potentially pay the Company an upfront fee as well as ongoing licensing fees based on certain player revenues. The authority being sought to raise additional capital will enable the Company not only to fund continued development of new technologies to be used in the internet gaming market, including the online poker and casino markets, but also to market its technology to a wider audience. If passed, the resolutions will provide the Company with greater flexibility in financing its ongoing business and growth, as it will afford the Directors the authority to issue shares of the Company for cash to prospective investors, if opportunities to do so arise.
Copies of the Circular will be available free of charge to the public at the Company's registered office at 11-13 Cricklewood Lane, London, NW2 1ET.

Hi pp, not heard from you for a while on this one. I thought that you would be ramping this on a bit, although at the moment its going along nicely. Bought 50,000 yesterday at the begining, already a nice profit. How far do you see it going as there appears to be no let up at present. If Ladbroke deal was worth 3mil this would put about 5p on SP. Do you know any of the financials so that we can estimate full potential. Cheers oily.

I hope this goes back to last years high of 37p. That would be a 13 bagger.

oily, although its good news and at least there might be a future, be careful as to how much they have drawn down from the loan facility, this could prove very dilutive, so I think multi-bagger from here on is perhaps a very very long shot.

Just been through the trades over the past week and it seems 50 million shares have been shifted. They've been to sold to clients from 2 pence to selling to them at 1.49 pence today. The trades going through at 1.37p were normal private investors and the trades at 1.49p were clients buying up stock. Mr Katan took 25 million shares so that leaves an overhang of only 40 million shares. IMO not much left now and the rest of what might be left will be cleared into any rises from this level. Level 2 improved and closed v.positive at 3 v 1 from 2 v 1. Solid support at this level (all time lows) and IMO minimal downside with huge upside potential from here. Recent news has been encouraging and a placing was always coming. Some PIs who bought in on the recent news may also average down and that might help to shift the overhang a bit quicker. Level 2 at close shows a near term jump to 2 pence rather than 1 pence. Should get more good news in the coming wks...now they've got some cash to expand.
