Ruth - 15 Oct 2006 23:22 - 6 of 69

:-)

markusantonius - 16 Oct 2006 01:10 - 7 of 69

Nice to see you've just amended Post 1, Ruth! Now anyone joining the thread here will wonder what on earth we're on about, won't they? :o) Not really a Chinese food fan but will make the effort on this occasion! Is it a "help yourself / eat as much as you can fit on your plate!" job?

beardy - 16 Oct 2006 07:38 - 8 of 69

Hi
sorry to say but yet another one we will miss. On holls but have a great night as usuall.

Are we having a Christmas do ?

Mark

CC, enjoy your hols,

markusantonius - 16 Oct 2006 13:59 - 12 of 69

Bosley, Fundy - are you guys coming along?

markusantonius - 16 Oct 2006 14:46 - 13 of 69

Presuming this Monkey Pub is on the large size so how do I recognise you all - just listen out for a rowdy bunch, I presume? :o)

Ruth - 16 Oct 2006 16:41 - 14 of 69

Markus, its only a small, you will hear Steph about a mile before you get to the pub, :-) and failing that, steph is a very tall blonde lady about 5"9,probably the easiest person to describe, will phone u on the day to let u know what were wearing if thats easier, but seriously dont worry, you will find us, its only a small quietish pub

markusantonius - 16 Oct 2006 17:07 - 15 of 69

Right, I'm not coming now, Ruth - tall blondes have caused me nothing but major trauma over the years - count me out, I'm afraid!!

However, the pub does have a half-decent write-up so maybe I will make an exception on this one occasion then...

beardy - 16 Oct 2006 23:14 - 16 of 69

Markus, Dont be put off by the tall blonde shes tame,it the bloke that wears the raddle and kiss blokes(and doesnt know it) when he's had to much to drink you want to watch??????? allegedly.

skg83239 - 17 Oct 2006 10:24 - 17 of 69

Ruth, I'll be up in the NW that week so you can count me in.
skg

Ruth - 17 Oct 2006 10:26 - 18 of 69

SKG, good to see u again

markusantonius - 17 Oct 2006 11:28 - 19 of 69

Having been pre-warned that I may find myself outumbered by all these rowdy femmes next week, I reminded myself of recent reports typifying the instincts of la femme race...

The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews, and testing were done there were 3 finalists: 2 men and a woman.

For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun.

"We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill Her!

The man said, "You can't be serious, I could never shoot my wife." The agent said, "Then you're not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home."

The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife."

The agent said, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home."

Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow.

"This gun is loaded with blanks", she said. "I had to beat him to death with the chair."

MORAL of the story: Women are evil. Don't mess with them.
Pass on this advice !!!

markusantonius - 17 Oct 2006 12:03 - 20 of 69

Any chance we can do the Iguana Bar - how far is this from where we are eating?

Sputnik - 17 Oct 2006 16:29 - 21 of 69

Beardy

Sorry to hear you can't make it AGAIN.

Just a suggestion to improve your social life, wouldn't it be better if you were tagged
rather than taking weekend release? :-)

chartist2004 - 17 Oct 2006 16:30 - 22 of 69

Hi Ruth, U ok? Do you have room for another one? About time I had a good night out! PS- if anyone's from Stockport area I would'nt mind a lift? :o) Thanks anyone!

markusantonius - 17 Oct 2006 19:52 - 23 of 69

Any of the M/AM golfers tempted to pop along next week? At this rate, it's beginning to look like The Shark Boy will be the only newcomer -
and you know how shy he is!

Vivid - 17 Oct 2006 23:25 - 24 of 69

Captain scarlet, look forward to it, he told me, said you had a good laugh on the phone,:-)but said you were going to bed early:-)
MM, :-) its true honest, must be our first meeting where she was able to walk in a straight line at the end of it:-)

Spaceman - 27 Oct 2006 12:13 - 37 of 69

Another great NW night out thanks everyone, I enjoyed every moment of it, Steph might not have got drunk but her pole dancing at the bar was the highlight of the evening.

Ruth - 27 Oct 2006 17:24 - 38 of 69

Tim:-)

Iain - 28 Oct 2006 12:10 - 39 of 69

Yes.A great night

markusantonius - 29 Oct 2006 11:56 - 40 of 69

Really enjoyed my premier NW bash - thanks especially to Ruth for co-ordinating everything and chosing my prefered date.

Cannot believe all these malicious rumours abouth Steph, though? She seemed very tame to me - a meek kitten, nothing like I was lead to believe. However do have 1 gripe with her - suggesting a 2 tip for a self-service buffet = no wonder we're always skint!!

Speaking of which - following Sputnik to the NCP made it a hugely expensive evening - 60 for illegal parking! Are you sure there were no other ticket machine working, Colin, and how do we talk our way out of this one? :o( Anyway going by train next time so that I can have a beer or 2 !!!

M.

Spaceman - 29 Oct 2006 11:57 - 41 of 69

markus, at least you found your car, from what I here Chocky lost hers after one of these evenings ....

markusantonius - 29 Oct 2006 12:01 - 42 of 69

Chocky obviously still hasn't found it then - a no show tuther night!

Ruth - 29 Oct 2006 17:22 - 43 of 69

Markus, wasnt me who suggested the tip, i just paid up what i was told:-)
not guilty of Rochdale:-)
well you should have known Sputnik would have tried to avoid paying for a parking space,i should have pre warned you:-) trying to extract a few quid out of sputters is a more daunting task than trading itself:-)

markusantonius - 29 Oct 2006 18:42 - 44 of 69

Ruth, You have mail.

alan1 - 29 Oct 2006 20:47 - 45 of 69

The night out was great, good to put faces to the names at last.

markusantonius - 29 Oct 2006 22:53 - 46 of 69

Agreed. But forgotten half the names already - that initial handshaking sesh was a reet ol waste of time! :o)
BTW, Alan, were you the guy (who likes his food, just like moi!) sitting on my RHS at the table?

Ruth - 30 Oct 2006 07:43 - 47 of 69

Markus, no Alan was sat next to me and Steph.

Iain - 30 Oct 2006 08:29 - 48 of 69

Spaceman - 30 Oct 2006 08:44 - 49 of 69

markusantonius - 08 Nov 2006 12:59 - 53 of 69

Ruth - 08 Nov 2006 13:30 - 54 of 69

Markus, no we all paid , you were just unlucky you flollowed Sputnik in, the things that fella will do to try and save a few quid at the parking meter:-)

Spaceman - 08 Nov 2006 14:36 - 55 of 69

I didnt get a parking ticket either.

markusantonius - 08 Nov 2006 14:38 - 56 of 69

Yes, I know what you mean, Ruth - as if Steph's 2 tip idea wasn't bad enough! :o(

markusantonius - 08 Nov 2006 14:39 - 57 of 69

A very expensive night in the NW!

markusantonius - 08 Nov 2006 14:40 - 58 of 69

markusantonius - 08 Nov 2006 14:41 - 59 of 69

markusantonius - 24 Jan 2007 08:44 - 69 of 69

markusantonius - 24 Jan 2007 08:33 - 67 of 69

Letter just arrived from Manc. City Council...

"Dear Markusantonius......

May I apologise for the late response to this enqiry... After reading your articulately crafted letter, I can confirm that because the pay & display machine was 'Out of Order' on the night you arrived at this car park, we have cancelled your parking ticket and are sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you...".

'Right-is-Right-is-Right... and must be pursued...!'

markusantonius - 24 Jan 2007 08:35 - 68 of 69

OK, so I slipped the "artic..." bit in! :o)
