I've been excited by this one, well at agm's - but noithing seems to prop up their own words. A 4% rise today is noise-level but welcome. What we need is so shiny metal, not pictures of rocks, or forests. This is meant to be a Gold co and all we hear is radio ga-ga.....................

Cambridge Mineral Resources said it intersected high grade gold from the ongoing diamond drilling at its Quintana Gold Mine in Antioquia Department, Colombia.
The mining company said the results include 2.5 metres at 46.44 grammes per tonne of gold, and 1.75 metres at 55.39 grammes per ton of gold. It added that the feasibility study on the Quintana Mine has confirmed an increase in both reserves and resources.

Recent (June) review notice has upped the sp for two days - this is looking like something serious....but still cheap. I don't think I'll put more in, but if it "comes good" then I have plenty enough.

Last share placement at 3p for 8 million shares with 16 million warrants attached, amounts to a considerable dilution. The lucky traders to get these are already sitting on a 50% profit. If these holders start to sell on the basis that the uranium is not of as high a grade as expected then SP may fall back towards 3p levels.

Yes, yes it all looks OK to me on the basis that "if good" it will be very good. PI's can't fund the mining operation; so there has to be a choice - go it alone with some dilution (yes the Warrants are a pain!),
OR
sell the stakes for a pittance, since only proven mines attract a premium.
OR
involve investors, which we are told is "costly" - mainly because the Regulations and hangers-on want to be well-paid.
IF CMR comes good, then we shall reap the rewards of many years gradual build-up.......so that's why I'm sticking with my investment now (currently down a tad), only when they start to come good will I stroke my investment - sure, this means I won't get all the up-side - but it also limits the down-side - if they went under 1p to buy, ( maybe due to floods, etc.).....I might add some more.

Is CMR now ( just months after a Fund-raising), asking for more money?
Grief, you'd think they'd just discovered another vein of gold - but no, this new money would appear to be needed to start mining, for real.
Er, I thought CMR was spreading themselves a bit thin - but this is now at sub-atomic levels . . . . .yet the expenses appear to be based on . . . . . acrage perhaps?
I'm turning from being well-satisfied - to rather cross -
(The "spread" is also looking rather terrific.)
Grr.
If further funding is needed then it's unlikely to be at 3p - new investors will want to be sure they aren't diluted within the next year and may be looking at 2p - - so whatever the sp I'm keeping my powder dry. Let's first have some metal-sales!

All this doom is NOT good( although "up" today a tad).
Yet I thought they had staked-out a rather good deal in S.America . . . but as is often the case I have great difficulty creating a Feel-good image of the potential "prospects".
About a year ago I suggested CMR employed a local artist to create a series of drawings of the conditions "now" and how it might change - this would be useful for investors and maybe also help with the "green credentials" of the company in the minds of locals, who naturally fear their land will be destroyed along with their way of life.
Of course, all we got was more digital photos; but frankly they could be anywhere and fail to give me that "insight" that you expect from a real drawing.
I'm still holding and hope that the 5p-level will return, Investors may recall some suggestions were that the "potential" was worth about 25p - possibly less now we've had more dilution ( and some "options" ) - so let's halve that "hoped-for" and look squarely at 12p . . . . . . but when?
Or, should that be "If".

It all depends on whether you believe [CMR] management - that they are mining where Gold is likely to be found . . . and the rider, that there will be enough to reward retail shareholders when the recent Loan deals have been repaid in Gold.
That financiers were prepared to wait (for the dirt to be shifted), may mean there is good news to follow ( well, for them!), - - - but if the mine is as good as we are told - then there should be something for us investors.... provided no further Dilution occurs.
That is the scene - now, Do you feel Lucky?
P.S. With Gold so high I would have thought this stock would RISE - that it's still falling shows:
1) No-one believes Management is acting in Shareholder interest... and...
2) (same as No.1.).
Gold is rising because of currency woes ( esp. in US).....but this should continue for some years.... as India uses Gold for decorative purposes - also I suspect China as well . . . and S.America has always liked Gold.
I hold, but worry about the lack of newflow. . . . . . not that they can "make news" . . . Oh deary....no, I don't feel lucky. . . . . lucky to recover my investment, maybe! (as of today!)- since you ask!!!

Here are my notes from the AGM:
Quintana development is progressing adequately. Production is on schedule for Q4, possibly November. The accommodation blocks are finished. The concrete foundations for the mill are part done and should be complete in a few weeks. Most plant is already on-site. The two missing elements are the mobile crushing unit and Merrill Crowe circuit. The former is in Bogota and is waiting for the unsurfaced roads between Medellin and Remedios to dry out. The latter is still in Miami (US). Arrangements have been made locally to use toll plant if the Merrill Crowe kit doesn't arrive on time.
Underground development has been focussed on preparing mine stopes on the 1 and 2 levels. Approximately 2,500t of development ore is already stockpiled at surface. The decline has reached the 3 level and preparation is under way to commence strike drives shortly. Work is also under way to extend the drive north and south on 1 level. Progress to the north has been good, development is already over 20m beyond the old resource boundary. The vein remains strong and the current face assayed approx 2m@28g/t.
One interesting snippet of news has been the discovery of a new vein. This was found during mine development in the hanging wall of the main vein. It's too early to say whether this is just a minor splay or something bigger. Either way the exposed section shows a strongly mineralised vein with (unusually for Quintana) extensive visible free gold. Assays are still awaited, but they are expected to be spectacular. We're talking 100+g/t. Plans are afoot to expose the new vein along strike. Whether it proves significant or not remains to be seen, however it does demonstrate the potential for Quintana to occasionally produce bonanza grades.
Drilling is ongoing. Nothing has been sent for assay yet, but results are expected sometime in Q4. Visual inspection of the core confirms that the vein has been intercepted by drilling. In conjunction with results from the mine development mentioned above, the possibility of extending the resource remains very good.
Once drilling has been completed at Quintana, the rig will be moved to either La Rosaleda or Colina Negra. Which one is unclear. Surface exploration at both projects continues to make progress. Trenching at La Rosaleda has traced a vein at an artisanal mine over a couple of kilometres. To save money (around $180k) the company has decided not to build the 20km road to Colina Negra. They will ship in the rig via helicopter instead.
The company has just finished 5 weeks of prospecting at Three Hills. Rock samples show mineralisation indicative of a possible copper porphyry. Assays are to be undertaken shortly. A number of companies continue to show interest in the project. There were also vague hints that some of the other Colombian projects have attracted industry interest.
In Bulgaria, drilling has been completed at Chaira. Drill results will be published soon. A pre-feasibility study has been completed by CMR into underground mining at Tashlaka Hill. The ore would be toll treated by an existing plant 65km away. The results were encouraging and have been forwarded to JV partner (Electrum) for review. Whether anything ever comes of this remains to be seen.
They're still confident that Spain can be spun-off, but need to wait for better market conditions. I remain sceptical, but I said the same thing about the worthless sheep pasture in the Falklands and was proven wrong. And that brings me to RAB (who incidently were the ones left holding the baby at FGML - bad blood anyone?). They still hold CMR and are occasional sellers. The good news is that sooner or later they will be gone. I look forward to that day. This is one institution you don't want on your share register.
Finally, the mooted 400k placing is still in the pipeline and should be completed shortly. This will provide enough working capital to see the company through to year end, by which stage Quintana should be producing cashflow.

CMR raises 350k at 1p - Grief, this is only small-change to most Boards - can't they raise this amount between them?
I'm really surprised any "Institutional" investor would be willing to buy such a small part of the company. . . . . . I suppose we should be grateful it's not at 0.5p - however, it gives me an uneasy feeling . . . . .yet again the Begging-Bowl.
Driver, are you still a believer?
EDIT 15Sept08 - Leman Bros Bank fails in US - looks like a big-'un has gone down and CMR sp (along with many others!), has dropped 20% on moderately strong selling. Is this Man Group trying to save their skin ( by taking cash), or is there another issue here.
I really don't see how the Execs couldn't raise 360k - what msg does than send?
Still, if the sp dips well below 1p . . . . . . . I might try again. This is a small punt for me, averaging about 3p
/
EDIT-2 (15Sept08,after hours) . . . . . seems a few more sales, even at these 0.008p levels ( just under 1p), with one late sell of 2m shares netting the investor 160k - so why would anyone create a loss when this Co. is about to mine for minerals.
Is this starting to explain why Directors won't find a measly 360k from their own funds? . . . . now, I'm getting nervous . . . . .
