From small companies news..........

Again on the upside, Sopheon hardened 1 to 21-1/4 as the software and services provider disclosed a 37 pct increase in first quarter revenues. At the end of the first quarter, revenue visibility for the full year from contracted business and recurring revenue streams stood at 3.0 mln.

Following Sopheon's update, Seymour Pierce advised clients to 'buy', with a price target of 30 pence.

The shares, which are trading at 14 times 2008 earnings, have fallen back almost 20 pct over the past month for no particular reason, while Tech has been strong, said the broker. With the business motoring towards a strong full-year, now is a good time to revisit the story, it concluded.

        JOKE OF THE DAY

Adam and Eve
Heaven was getting a bit crowded,
so Peter began giving quizzes to see who should get in.
A man ascended to heaven, and came to the gates.

"Who was the first man?" asked Peter.
"Adam."
"That's correct. Enter." Soon another man came along.

"Where did Adam and Eve live?"
"Eden."
That's correct. Enter."

Then Mother Theresa came along.
"Ooh, I'll have to give you a hard one.
What did Eve say when she met Adam for the first time?"

"Mmm, that IS a hard one."
"Enter."
