I have created this new thread so that anyone who is interested in attending a celebration lunch, day out, whatever to celebrate TMC's share price reaching 20, can register their interest and voice an opinion on what they would like to do.
When,.......Obviously timing is not yet known.
Where,......Somewhere pretty central to most posters.
Who,.........Is it just investors, or do we include other halves.
What,........Theme park, slap up lunch, piss up.
Any ideas, put them forward on this thread and we can all openly discuss options and formulate a day of celebration.

bloody hell! ..... are you that pushed to get yourself a free lunch? ...... times must be hard in the west country!
for me, a really good lunch or dinner + wine ..... i'm a poncy old tart and don't go much for piss ups and the idea of a theme park fills me with horror ..... i get enough scary rides in the market without volunteering for others that are likley to make physically sick!
would be very happy to have the leavening of some pulchritude, though i fear Beloved will duck out as she prefers to stay in her large paper bag.

hello everyone
If they get to 20 I am like cynic I expect a bit more then a p/up
my only worry is that they get to 20 in a not distant future
Joking apart you give me an idea....
This are my suggestions
To have (single - wife- lover) a w/end (or even longer) here
http://www.lagobin.com/homepage.html?intro=play
(there are cheap fly from UK)
I could organised special offers (I have to see the owner for that but shouldnt be any problems
Here you would be between 2 casinos (San Remo + Monte Carlo) ;-))
This is what I will be adding..
The one who get the nearest to the time TMC get to 20 get a free w/e (I or LB offer it)
I produce some extra virgin olive oil the second best I offer a 5 litres of it
How about that??? Need to be more then 2 though!!!
Could be a nice rest and fun for all of you..
Waiting to hear others suggestions..

An end of day close above the 50 day moving average at 14p and a weekly close through the January intraday high of 18p would "confirm" that a major base has been made, and that we could see substantial gains.

from Sharecrazy:
Zak Mir a big fan and thinks they could surge if they close over 18p at any stage, incredible value to be had:
Current price is 9.5p but let's look at the facts:
Cash per share looks to be around 60p given they are receiving payments for Nickel already shipped the breakdown is:
Atlas 3.32m
Brooks 3.58m
BNC 2.81m
Bookker 4.1m
Thus total Cash: Receivables 13.81m + Cash 4.7m ($7m) = 18.51m
So Toledo has a market cap of 2.8m yet they have 18.51m in cash and receivables plus a majority stake in the worlds 3rd largest Nickel mine. This is quite possibly the biggest bargain of all the bombed out small mining stocks. The directors last bought sizable stakes around 150p and all hold good sized amounts. Look here for more info and see what a stunning investment TMC are:

Toledo battens down the hatches and looks ahead for better times:
It is hard to believe just how far former stock market star Toledo Mining (LSE:TMC) has fallen over the last 18 months. The stock was once valued at an amazing forty five times its current market value but a closer look and it appears Toledo may not be the basket case the market values it at.
Certainly things are tough for the sector but as highlighted with the recent operations update, Toledo isn't necessarily dependent upon the once booming Chinese market and instead looks towards mining giant BHP Billiton (LSE:BLT) as its main source of income. Indeed Toledo has an agreement with the giant BHP to deliver upto 500,000 tons per annum of nickel laterite with an option to extend this until 2018. More favourably for Toledo is the fact that they can supply BHP with their huge stockpiles and so don't have to mine until at least the second half of 2009.
The management have to be applauded for their pre-emptive moves last year in closing down their mines and laying off nearly all the workforce to cut overheads and all capital expenditure beyond necessary maintenance has been stopped.
On the financial side of the business again it would appear the market is overlooking Toledo's fundamentals. Toledo has around its current market value in cash alone with Royalty payments due this year from several sources including Atlas Consolidated Mining and BHP Billiton.
Therefore Toledo appears to be in a much better position than the market is giving it credit for and whilst never likely to recapture former highs it certainly looks an interesting proposition given just how much it has fallen.

Kate, the copper is proberbly from the mine TMC swopped the nickel deposits for. They are nothing to do with TMC.
Berong from memory was the 4th largest nickel deposit in the world and Celestial was about 17th. So unless all the others have shut down, I find it hard to believe that TMC hold the largest two.

Looking at trades closely, it would appear that this is being pumped so that someone can dump in large quantities above the market norm for this share.
Most sales PM are 20 25 or 30 thousand blocks. If this is so good and is going to rise to suggested levels, why sell now?
I havn't done much research lately on this one, but IMHO there isn't much to get excited about. This had a very similar pump and dump about a month or so ago.

Kate,
Off the top of my head, cash 3.3million about 11p per share.
BHP not increasing their contract to 1 million tpa.
In fact next year they are to reduce to 400,000 tpa.
Chinese market dead and not cost effective.
Work force laid off.
Too long shutdown each year when seas to dangerous for loading.
Dangla road a no go.
Loading tressle scrapped.
Stock pile at docks lower grade than expected.
MPSA for Berong still outstanding.
I agree that once nickel price recovers and Phillipine govt get off their backsides and start to back the mining industry instead of turning them into market gardeners by making them replace more trees than they dug up, etc, etc.
For now there isn't enough growth for TMC in the forseeable future to intrest me.

oilyrag you fail to see what others have found with TMC: They are trading at hugely below cash/cash receivables, ENK own 20% and the rumour is they are to launch a takeover, the sector is back in favour and flying. TMC worth much much more than current price, just watch them recover as the markets do - although granted when will that happen!! Much better prospects than you make out:

Only 16,279 tonnes of ore was mined at Berong in the December quarter, Toledo reports. At the Ipilan nickel project, all activities associated with the direct shipping of ore have been stopped.
Toledo says that with continued low nickel prices and the current state of the stainless steel industry, it has undertaken 'numerous initiatives to cope with the anticipated very challenging market environment ahead'.
'All capital expenditure beyond necessary maintenance has been stopped; over 600 people at Berong have been retrenched and manning numbers drastically reduced at Ipilan and head office; and spending has been reduced to cover only regulatory or mandated levels.'

cynic the latest RNS should remind you of the MOU TMC signed with Jiangxi (read RNS 28/11/08) which is a chinese state owned company.Jiangxi will pay all costs of building the pilot plant and are currently building a refinery in China to receive the 5000 tons of nickel hydroxide produced from 600000tons of laterite, in due course (perhaps someone can tell us how much revenue this would generate?).It appears TMC are determined to add value locally and will achieve this by eliminating the need to ship laterite ore by processing it in situe.

i take your word for it, but the latest RNS makes very bleak reading indeed ..... if KB was indeed fortunate enough to racked up a thumping profit in these shares, against the prevailing wind, then she was a total twerp not to have banked at least some profits ..... how long or even if TMC can turn things around - e.g. how long until nickel prices start climbing to economic levels again - is another matter entirely

World oil demand will contract by far more than previously expected in 2009 due to extreme weakness in the global economy, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Wednesday.
Demand is expected to fall by 980,000 barrels per day in 2009 to 84.7 million, the agency said in its monthly market report. The IEA's forecast last month was for demand to contract by 500,000 barrels per day this year.

Putting my psychologists hat on, I think you'll find that the flying insults on BB's of financial sites increases in proportion to a financial downturn. The reason for this is a defence known as displacemenrt, where the anger and frustrations at ourself for losing money (which I have as well!) is disregarded and projected onto some other person. It's sort of easier to cope with if we don't look at the truth. It's something we all feel in a way.

wakey wakey rns out. This now clearly a waiting game to a takeover and I think it could become a bid battle given ENK have 20% @ 200p. can find nothing on 'Daintree Resources' so looks obvious they have been set up to buy Toledo. Interesting point from another forum is the fact they've bought nearly 20% of TMC in the market but why not try and buy ENK's 20% ?? Presume ENK want plenty more than market price. The quicker this rises the quicker Daintree will be forced to launch a bid, don't sell your shares!! Squeeze this up!!

I wonder whether the sp rise in many small stocks is being caused by traders closing their shorts before Easter. The question is whether the rally in these companies can continue after the break. the following statement is quite interesting for what it does NOT say - but the market is unimpressed and sp has now fallen again, but that may be just because DFaintree has satisfied its appetite (for the time being?) ......
Statement re Significant Shareholder, Daintree Resources Limited
Toledo Mining Corporation plc wishes to advise the market it has had initial discussions with Daintree which now holds a beneficial interest in approximately 20.0% of the Company's issued share capital.
Daintree has advised Toledo that it intends to be a long term shareholder of
Toledo. It is supportive of the Company's current strategy to manage
costs, pursue opportunities to develop the ore shipping business, and
explore beneficiation options for the sale of nickel products to
international markets. Toledo welcomes this statement by Daintree and
looks forward to working with its new major shareholder.

some big trades in this last week and went red to blue friday, interest should now return to this stock as ENK are free to bid after the 23rd May (they'd have to pay over 200p if they'd bid before this date). I see it's dropped from 44p to present 31.5p this last few weeks, time to get back in i believe, it's too cheap again especially with Daintree on board with their 20% stake and ENK with their 20%, nice rally in Nickel last few weeks as well. Why would ENK want to bid ? Its fine having a damn good ramp saying that they can from this date, but why on earth would they ?
TMC is shut dow and now just burning cash, the more cash they burn the weaker they are and the cheaper they are to buy or take out of administration.
So, why should ENK want to buy now, or simply just wait until TMC becomes weaker and also therefore, cheaper ?

Hi PP, I never said they would bid, but merely answered a question for marni. I agree entirely with you regarding the position that TMC are in, but this is about speculation surrounding Daintree whoever they are. This reflects however much you like or dislike the stock, in a rapid increase or decrease in the sp whenever people trade in what is after all a tightly held stock.

TMC (34.5p) From Minesite:-
July 21, 2009
Toledo Mining Brings Some Influential Friends Onto Its Share Register, As It Presses On With Plans To Leach Nickel Ore In The Philippines.
By Alastair Ford
"Every year, whether its recession or boom time, once or twice a year the window opens to raise money, and when it opens, youve got to go through it. So says Reg Eccles, the man who sits at the top at nickel laterite specialist TOLEDO MINING these days as acting chairman, after former chief George Bujtor stepped aside in April. Reg was a banker at SBC Warburg and ABN Amro, and has put in time at Consolidated Goldfields and Anglo American, so he knows a thing or two about markets, metals, and money. He seems comfortable at the top of Toledo, while acknowledging that at some stage the company will have to appoint a new chief executive to run things directly. But following Georges departure Toledo hasnt looked in a hurry to appoint anyone to take his place, and it seems to be getting on okay without one. Its partly a matter of cost. But for now at least, new moneys coming in, through the latest fundraising, organized by Reg and the other non-executive directors, and through the resumption of the direct shipping of ore to the Yabulu refinery in Australia. So, no need for a new chief exec just yet, but once development work on processing ratchets up at Toledos two major projects in the Philippines, there will probably have to be an appointment.
When the parting of the ways between George Bujtor and Toledo came, the official line was that George went off with the companys best wishes to seek new challenges. So its interesting to note that some months on hes still knocking around in the vicinity of the Toledo projects, now in a new incarnation as consultant to Toledos joint venture partner, local Philippine company Atlas Consolidated Mining & Development Corporation. Yes, it seems George still has faith in the assets, and, what with the nickel price showing steady signs of improvement all year, it cant have been because he thought the economics at the flagship Berong project were under pressure that he left. Indeed, less than two months after hed gone the company had resumed direct ore shipping and was busy loading boats, even if it was only from stocks built up before Berong was placed on care and maintenance.
But as Reg Eccles says, direct ore shipping from Berong was always the second prize to value added. By which he means that the long-term future for Toledo lies not simply in waiting for nickel to go high enough to make it economic to load the mineralized clays straight onto boats, but in processing the ore on site in some fashion.
The question as to how exactly that process will be undertaken is one that Toledo has not yet made a definitive choice on. George was known to favour agitated leaching, but following a deal done at the height of the boom, heap leach specialist company European Nickel now holds a significant stake both in Toledo and directly in Berong. With George gone, that seems to tip the balance in favour of European Nickel and heap leaching. But it doesnt end there. Toledo also has a memorandum of understanding with the Jiangxi Group, the parastatal mining and metals company of Jiangxi province, China, for off-take and project investment, and Jiangxi too are known to favour heap leaching at Berong.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Palawan island, Toledo is continuing work on the Ipilan project in whcih it holds a 52 per cent interest. Ipilan boasts a JORC resource three times that of Berong, and is part of a still larger geological resource, the balance of which is owned by MacroAsia, a company in the Lucio Tan brewing, tobacco, property, banking and airline empire. Toledo has a memorandum of understanding with MacroAsia to investigate jointly developing these two contiguous properties, and Toledo rigs and staff are currently assisting MacroAsia in a drilling campaign. At this time, Reg says, no decision has been made as to the optimal route for processing Ipilan ore, but he could envisage it being a different technology to the heap leaching preferred for Berong.
Before definite decisions can be reached though, more work needs to be done at Ipilan and more resources need to be booked at Berong. To that end Toledo is currently in the process of raising 3.24 million in new money via a placing of shares at 28p each. European Nickel wont be participating this time round, but given that it has a direct stake in Berong it doesnt need to maintain its stake at the top level to maintain its influence. Toledos largest shareholder Daintree Resources will increase its interest, however, and joint owner Jason Cheng is joining the Toledo board. Daintree is said to be supported by some very heavy hitters in the mining and investment worlds, and although for the time being its not clear exactly who this might be, its interesting that Jason Chengs trail leads back to Ancora Capital Management, an investment company with which former JPMorgan Resources specialist Ivor Orchard is associated.
Also coming on to the register in a big way is Kostyantin Zhevago, the chief executive and major shareholder of iron ore producer Ferrexpo. Reg explains that Mr Zhevago has plans to convert a ferromanganese plant that he owns in Macedonia into a 5,000 tonnes per year ferronickel plant with potential for expansion, and that hes looking around for source materials. One factor in Toledos favour here is that Ferrexpo ships go to China loaded with iron pellets, but currently come back empty. It might make a lot of sense if they were, in future, to return laden with ore from one or more of Toledos projects, or even, conceivably, a mixed hydroxide product. With heavy hitters like Mr Zhevago, European Nickel, and Daintree backing Toledo, the future looks fairly secure from a corporate perspective.
But a lot hangs on how the Berong ore behaves in a heap leach operation, and before well get more details on that, Toledo needs to thrash out just exactly what kind of deal its going to do with European Nickel to find out. For more on that watch this space.

nickel is a major (price) component of stainless steel, and at the moment at least, there is no recovery in either demand or price in that respect - and that applies to Chindia too, as you neatly call it

perhaps i'm not so dumb after all ......
Encouraged by higher prices, a few metal producers have started to reverse earlier cutbacks and project delays, prompted around mid-2008 by plunging demand.
But for metals like aluminium and nickel, where more cuts are still needed, such moves come on top of on-schedule start-ups of new operations and threaten to keep those markets in surplus for longer than most.

Anywhere between 50p and 70p would not be too high a multiple but possibly 100p is not out of the question either. The company does seem to have a lot of cash at its disposal, some good assets, ridden the economic storm and seems an excellent recovery play to 100p. Any good solid announcement, whatever that may be would easily move this to 50p+ and then push to 100p imo. At 40p its well very undervalued as a lot of the miners are totally speculative, tmc is at least delivering.

Mind you, with nearly all AIM stocks heading south, presumably there will not be an AIM market within 6 mnths or of course we are going to have a recovery of sorts next year. Conditions are very similar to pre-credit crunch when the AIM market actually stopped working in March 07 6 mnths before sub-prime became a dictionary word. Seems to me that a depression is starting to be priced into many sp's again, the only alternative is that the total lack of liquidity and trading is forcing sp's down. I believe that conditions are just as bad as they have evr been. The next few mnths is going to be very revealing one way or t'other.

I made a packet on these in 2007/8 and i think it is time to buy in again given the price of Nickel and China restocking.
There's been a rumour of a 60p bid over on the LSE board but the volume doesn't exactly give any credibility to this. I think it's going up mainly to do with talk Atlas are set to re-open Berong (see link). A quiet board here which is just what i like!

Nickel finished around $10.70 per lb on Friday, TMC looks vulnerable to a bid at this price, pounds for pennies.
cynic
- 28 Mar 2010 20:09

no idea about that, but it has to be a racing certainty that nickel prices will rise as it is a fundamental constituent of stainless steel, for which there is already a significant increase in demand
whether or not there is a direct correlation between the above and the value of TMC is somewhat more conjectural

MMs have been playing games this morning witht he share price on the level 2
Marked up from the start with buying and then only 5k sells and moving the prices lower each time.
Have MMs managed to call down the buying on marking down the bid prices on small sells?
They did so far, but not able to fill their book with enough sells to cover today's and yesterday's buys, so the game for investors is keep buying and the only way for them will be to lift the prices much higher than before.
Level 2 is 2 v 1

This has not moved since the report last week. This is certainly positive news:
Toledo Mining Corporation plc
("Toledo" or the "Company") (AIM:TMC)
Berong Nickel Corporation - Ore Sales
Toledo is pleased to announce that Berong Nickel Corporation ("BNC") has
finalised the sale of its remaining stockpile of nickel ore.
The existing stockpile at Berong of some 150,000 wet metric tonnes (wmt)
averaging 1.45% nickel (Ni) will be shipped under a contract with Shaanxi Energy
Metals and Minerals Resources Co., Ltd, China. The first shipment of 50,000wmt
is scheduled for the second half of May with two further shipments of 50,000wmt
each scheduled for June.
BNC will use the proceeds from the sale of the stockpile to provide working
capital to support the resumption of operations at the Berong nickel mine. The
main aspects of the mining plan have now been agreed with our joint venture
partners. We are in the process of finalising the details and will update our
shareholders shortly.

I have reported them to support by they do nothing, either because they want to force me to PAY them for the Traders Room or because they are too lazy to do anything. Maybe the people in support are the ones perpetrating the abuse, so as to force people to pay for the premium boards. Either way the service is sh1te and a disgrace to the finance industry. No wonder there is nobody left here apart from morons.
I will continue posting my good research on boards that are run in accordance with FSA and LSE listing rules and the interests of the market, not here where ar5eh0les rule the boards and all decent research is buried under their piles of sh1te.

StockMarketWire.com
Toledo has announced that Felix Pole, Non-executive Director of the Company, will be stepping down from his position at the end of June 2011.
It had been Pole's intention to stand down at the last Annual General Meeting of the Company. This was delayed by mutual agreement to enable him to assist in the development of the commercial opportunities which have now resulted in the reopening of the Berong Nickel Mine.
