Becca and George,

Fantastic, L2 is fine now. I wonder what the problem was after the transfer to cloud...link? Appreciated.

George, can you please inform your replacement in case it happens again, what you did to rectify it. Good luck in healthcare.

Becca, all the best and good luck.

:-(
Thanks
Sim

Becca MoneyAM - 12 Oct 2018 10:51 - 3 of 459

sim1 - thank you for your patience throughout, really pleased it's all working correctly now!

I'll ask George for further information for you about the issue.

---

banjomick, skinny, optomistic + sim1 - Thank you for your kind comments :)

greekman - 12 Oct 2018 11:05 - 4 of 459

Becca,

First of all, good luck in wherever and whatever you are moving too. It is a shame that people such as yourself have to take a bit of stick when things go wrong as we appreciate you are doing your best, but unfortunately its the only way we can moan at the MoneyAm system which is not fit for purpose.

So thanks for sorting out what you could.

regards Greek.

Fred1new - 12 Oct 2018 11:06 - 5 of 459

Becca,

You have my sympathy for having dealt with the "mob" so well.

Good luck in the future.

midknight - 12 Oct 2018 11:18 - 6 of 459

Becca,

Thanks for all your help. I think you've done a wonderful job.
Never shoot the messenger is something one should never forget.
All good wishes for the future.

kimoldfield - 12 Oct 2018 11:27 - 7 of 459

Good luck Becca and George, we will miss you, bet you won't miss us though!😀

skinny - 12 Oct 2018 11:29 - 8 of 459

Post 60 - And George! :-)

midknight - 12 Oct 2018 11:46 - 9 of 459

I didn't realise we are losing you as well, George.
Good luck and take care.

Mo06 - 12 Oct 2018 13:44 - 10 of 459

It's been about 20 hours since the data feed froze, and still the price changes are incorrect.

Come on, that's really not very good is it ?

Stan - 12 Oct 2018 14:07 - 11 of 459

Yes best of luck Becca and George and many thanks for your help over the years some pretty disappointing posts that occurred when things went wrong on this particular thread, no excuse for that despite things going wrong, also the best of luck in your next jobs.

greekman - 12 Oct 2018 15:16 - 12 of 459

Did not realise George was also leaving, so message to Becca obviously applies to him also.

Dil - 12 Oct 2018 15:23 - 13 of 459

Can I start a new VRS thread Becca ?

Good luck for the future.

Dil - 12 Oct 2018 15:29 - 14 of 459

It's ok Becca I found an old one and this time I'll keep on dreamcatcher for you :-)

Bel1ze8SA - 12 Oct 2018 15:33 - 15 of 459

Charts were fine this morning...

BUT
Now they're lagging way behind again....
that's custom charts, live intraday and also the trades tab which is displaying the incorrect % gain/loss

Looks like they all stopped working at about 15.50
which is the same time they stopped yesterday ....

dreamcatcher - 12 Oct 2018 16:22 - 16 of 459

Thank you Becca for all your help. Perhaps I can re do as to say a fresh VRS thread in the future. I thought it strange you have given no reply in the past. Clearly you are not getting the e-mails. Good luck for the future and George and for the work you have done.

Dil - 12 Oct 2018 16:44 - 17 of 459

It's ok dc I've sorted it.

Now try to behave this time :-)

dreamcatcher - 12 Oct 2018 16:46 - 18 of 459

What have you sorted ? :-))

ExecLine - 14 Oct 2018 13:36 - 19 of 459

You've done a damn fine job on here, Becca. I'm sorry to hear you're leaving.

And George, exactly the same applies to you. You've done an excellent job too.

'Best of luck for the future' to both of you.

Bel1ze8SA - 15 Oct 2018 07:18 - 20 of 459

Yes ... Monday's Stockwatch now reset to zero, as per prior to "maintenance".
Thank you.

bluedragon - 15 Oct 2018 07:46 - 21 of 459

Thank you for your work Becca and for the prompt and precise replies to me on the odd occassions we have communicated. I don't think it has been the easiest of jobs but you battled through. Travel well and enjoy the next phase of your life.

ExecLine - 19 Oct 2018 23:37 - 22 of 459

Becca has now gone. Hope she got some sticky tape in before she left.

And of course, George left earlier too.

dreamcatcher - 22 Oct 2018 15:54 - 23 of 459

Would be good to hear who manages the threads now? 3 employees have left in a short space are there replacements ?

Stan - 22 Oct 2018 17:00 - 24 of 459

Are the email addresses still available to use if we want To contact them? If so might be worth asking them in that form.

dreamcatcher - 22 Oct 2018 18:00 - 25 of 459

Stan, Becca never seemed to get them from me in the past. Just thought it curtesy from the company to explain.

Stan - 22 Oct 2018 18:05 - 26 of 459

Been a number of changes over the years on here but little or no official announcement to us users though D/C.

dreamcatcher - 22 Oct 2018 18:12 - 27 of 459

An introduction of a new staff member/s perhaps would of gone down well. cannot be running on its own?

UKMoneyAM - 23 Oct 2018 15:17 - 28 of 459

Hi all,

I'm Dee. I'll be taking over Becca's role for the time being. If you have any queries you can email me at support@moneyam.com or post on this thread.

kimoldfield - 23 Oct 2018 15:34 - 29 of 459

Hi Dee, good luck, I hope you don't get too much hassle from us!😊

Stan - 23 Oct 2018 16:38 - 30 of 459

Hello Dee, and welcome to the wonderful world of Money AM.😀

dreamcatcher - 23 Oct 2018 17:30 - 31 of 459

Hi Dee, welcome. :-))

dreamcatcher - 23 Oct 2018 17:42 - 32 of 459

Dee, could you please remove the Versarien Plc thread. There are two . No doubt you have heard the troubles about the thread. It was cleared of posts and info by Moneyam and the posts are building again. Please be sure only to remove the thread without charts and a write up in the header, Thank you dreamcatcher.

Ps I have told posters not to post on that thread, but do they listen :-))

Clocktower - 23 Oct 2018 20:03 - 33 of 459

Becca took some stick, never crumbled under pressure, not that it made it any better - as those that really mattered never listened and took on board the real issues that drives most of us mad - for example that abominable video that we all loathe - prove your worth from day two Dee and get it removed if you are worth your salt. :-)

Dil - 23 Oct 2018 21:56 - 34 of 459

Dee , please ignore dreamcatcher and don't delete the second VERSARIEN thread as I like it and it saves me having to start another one.

Welcome aboard Dee.

Stan - 23 Oct 2018 22:06 - 35 of 459

Dee, even in the wonderful world of Money AM there is the odd reprobate of which our Dill is a prime example..we usually ignore him -):

Dil - 23 Oct 2018 22:26 - 36 of 459

dreamcatcher - 25 Oct 2018 07:03 - 45 of 459

Very strange Stan, unless it is for the blind.

Dil - 25 Oct 2018 18:18 - 46 of 459

I guess Dee has been told to take her time replying while the ex CEO deletes half his posts.

Busy weekend for you Mike :-)

Bullshare - 26 Oct 2018 06:49 - 47 of 459

UKMoneyAM - 26 Oct 2018 15:55 - 51 of 459

zzaxx99 - Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It has now been corrected.

dreamcatcher - Thank you for your email, I have responded to your question. You should have a reply in your inbox.

Dil - 30 Oct 2018 19:28 - 56 of 459

dc, did you ask for the Versarien thread that I post on to be removed and if so for what reason ?

Dee , why can't I see the Versarien Plc thread anymore ?

Fred1new - 30 Oct 2018 21:15 - 57 of 459

Diddums!

UKMoneyAM - 31 Oct 2018 10:06 - 58 of 459

Hi Dil,

The Versarien Plc Thread has now been removed.

Thanks,

Dee

Stan - 31 Oct 2018 10:18 - 59 of 459

No point in having multiple threads on the same Company, so thank you Dee.

..and tough tatoes to you Dil -):

Dil - 31 Oct 2018 13:07 - 60 of 459

No probs with any other company having multiple threads Stan , I'll just have to start my own ... cry babies who will rename nameless won't be welcome on it.

I'll make an exception for you though Stan :-)

Dil - 31 Oct 2018 13:13 - 61 of 459

17 TAD threads , says it all.

dreamcatcher - 31 Oct 2018 15:26 - 62 of 459

Dil sorry mate you are pretty ignorant. You don't post what you have in the past with my name heading the thread, sorry.

dreamcatcher - 31 Oct 2018 15:52 - 63 of 459

I hope it is removed again.

Dil - 31 Oct 2018 21:11 - 64 of 459

Oi Rickity , if your watching the bulletin boards then tell me why you told everyone you didn't need a fund raising , then had one for more than you said you needed.

Also , being your such a big arse gobshite on Twitter when it suites you why didn't you address the claims by Lucian that you ripped off your mates , awarded yourself loads of options that no one knows about etc etc ???

Your FOS , look forward to your reply.

HARRYCAT - 31 Oct 2018 21:20 - 65 of 459

Dil, not trying to influence your posts, but I quite enjoy having a couple of threads for VRS as it goes to show how divided people are on whether the company is kosher. If you keep it clean then we can all enjoy......just saying!

Dil - 31 Oct 2018 22:11 - 66 of 459

Cheers Harry , dc wouldnt have got away with this two weeks ago , taking advantage imo.

Never seen threads deleted before unless they were offensive , etc etc.

Always liked dc , started some great threads but now imo coming accross as a right tit.

Asking for people to be banned like iturama for telling a few home truths and now getting threads deleted cos they didnt start them.

What an upstart !

cowshapedfish - 01 Nov 2018 08:22 - 67 of 459

Cumulative volume on the Stockwatch is not showing up on the L2 screen for some reason

See FOG - 165k cum vol but only 38k on L2 latest trades

I notice it yesterday on SOLG as well

The cumulative volume figure does not equate with the latest trades figure on L2 screen

UKMoneyAM - 01 Nov 2018 14:46 - 68 of 459

Hi Cowshapedfish,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have notified our IT department who are looking into this error for you.

Thanks,

UKMoneyAM - 05 Nov 2018 14:40 - 69 of 459

Hi all,

Happy Monday.

I wanted to inform you all that we are no longer offering telephone support for MoneyAM. If you have any queries you can email me at mediasupport@ajbell.co.uk or post on this thread.

Best wishes,

You have not changed the name of Premaitha Health (NIPT) to Yourgene Health (YGEN)
so my portfolio is way down as Premaitha (NIPT) is showing nil price

55011 - 07 Nov 2018 17:18 - 71 of 459

Are there any plans to bring the NEX trades onto the "trades" page, rather than continue solely showing LSE trades?

UKMoneyAM - 08 Nov 2018 09:37 - 72 of 459

Hi Rake - Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We will update our details.

Hi 55011 - At the moment we only provide information from LSE, I have passed your comments on to the rest of the team who will assess this.

Thanks,

Dee

kevkan - 09 Nov 2018 10:00 - 73 of 459

Could I ask why on your trades page you do not display current broker price for example :

You are showing BMN - 27 Apr SP Angel 24.94 Buy SP Angel revisited this on a couple of occasions and revised up to 28p and today increased again to 87p as this is important guidance why is it not updated.

UKMoneyAM - 12 Nov 2018 09:55 - 74 of 459

Hi kevkan - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our IT team and looking into this now and will rectify the problem asap.

Thanks, Dee

Chea - 14 Nov 2018 12:26 - 75 of 459

I am disheartened by the message below which is wholly inaccurate, but did manage to waste my time restarting my browser which cleared all of my L2 chart settings.

You have logged on to MoneyAM Level 2 from another computer.
Your session has therefore been ended.

UKMoneyAM - 14 Nov 2018 14:44 - 76 of 459

Hi Chea - I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. Could you please send me an email at mediasupport@ajbell.co.uk and I will immediately look into why this error has occurred.

Best wishes, Dee

???????

ExecLine - 18 Nov 2018 23:18 - 91 of 459

You can read every thread on the Investors Room without logging in. Try it.

It's a bit more laborious since you can't go straight to the last place you were at when you last visited the thread.

This means that everything everyone types on it is open to be read by the entire world.

But you can't read, say the stock prices, without first registering on the site and then logging in.

iturama - 19 Nov 2018 08:23 - 92 of 459

Because you spend most of your time on it, Fred.

There is negiligible difference between the Traders Room and the Investors Room. It may be a good plan to separate the two completely. Keep all the posts on the Investors thread out of the Trading Room.

UKMoneyAM - 19 Nov 2018 10:19 - 93 of 459

Hi Mo06 - There doesn't seem to be a problem with the stock information at our side today. Could you please let me know if you're still having difficulties. Thanks, Dee.

Hi Fred - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our IT department are looking into this now. Thanks, Dee

UKMoneyAM

The 'Secure' and 'Not Secure' pages/access have always been like that.

Not exactly sure why though. Albeit, that as data processors, I don't see why you should be expected to do it for nothing if what you are processing is unique. We all know there are numerous places out there where similar info to MoneyAM's is available.

MoneyAm is a 'pleasant site' and has some good 'essences'. I guess that's part of the reason why your bosse(s) bought into it? But if some changes are going to be made around here by way of improvements I'm always reminded of the tip/comment an old friend of mine once told me:

"All the best businesses seem to sell maximum amounts of benefits to a maximum amount of people for a minimum amount of money."

Intrusive adverts and stock losses are the two main things which seem to drive regular users away.

I always feel, that MoneyAM is a bit 'niche' and if the market place for stocks turns pretty sour and volatile which it has done for the last several years, then it's hard to attract new clientele to the site.

UKMoneyAM - 19 Nov 2018 16:15 - 96 of 459

Hi ExecLine - Thank you for your comment. I understand your queries and I've passed your thoughts on to the rest of the team. Best wishes, Dee

Getting really fed up of the differences in closing price between my portfolio and my stockwatch. AFC for an example is showing up on stockwatch but down on my portfolio.

I have mentioned this many times but it still occurs.

Which is accurate as it obviously can' t be both.

Can this be sorted out once and for all, if not please say so then I can look elsewhere for accurate figures.

Regards Greek

Dynamite - 28 Nov 2018 16:21 - 122 of 459

I googled it...you have a faulty server or a server is taking too long to complete commands. This has been going on 2 weeks now. The fault is at £am or a server you use.

Dynamite - 28 Nov 2018 16:22 - 123 of 459

503 error is because your server is overloaded or having maintenance

Dynamite - 29 Nov 2018 10:27 - 124 of 459

error 504 again! wake up £am

I'm fed up with the lack of reply and the server fault not being dealt with. I've just messaged Mike aka Bullshare

Hi all,

Thank you for your messages. I'm very sorry for the slow response I have been out of the country this week. I have passed on your queries to our IT team who are looking into these matters as we speak.

Dynamite - I have sent you some emails. Please do let me know if these haven't arrived in your mailbox.

Best wishes,

Dee

Dynamite - 29 Nov 2018 11:44 - 131 of 459

Apparently Dee seems to be the only one there and she has been off all week! Hopeless!

Dynamite - 29 Nov 2018 11:45 - 132 of 459

Dee you told me they were looking at this 2 weeks ago!
Di

ExecLine - 29 Nov 2018 12:16 - 133 of 459

Dee

You say 'our IT Team'....

I take you to mean the MoneyAM business's IT team?

The 'Ts and Cs' link at the bottom of the web page says:

Information about us
The Website is operated by AJ Bell Media Limited (We). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 03733852 and have our registered office at 4 Exchange Quay, Salford Quays, Manchester M5 3EE.

Clearly this information is now incorrect. Surely, it is up to the new owners of the site to update this information?

Q1. Who owns the MoneyAM business now?
Q2. Do you own it?
Q3. Solely? In partnership with someone else?
Q4. Or are you the site's IT Manager?
Q5. Is your remit just to keep things 'ticking over' or 'to make the business grow'?
Q6. Would you kindly make an announcement on the present situation at MoneyAM to put us sorta kinda 'in the picture'? As a long term user, actually since 2003, it would be nice to know a bit more information about what has happened/is happening with the MoneyAM business/web site (and also it's fairly polite thing to do too).
Q7. I do appreciate, that of course, you don't have to answer any of these questions. If you don't chose to answer any of them. So be it. But I for one, would like to know, Dear 'Dee' (UKMoneyAM), that when I come on this site, just who am I dealing with?
Q8. I am beginning to feel the whole 'MoneyAM thing' is just a 'hack operation' these days. In the past, the relationship between 'Users' and 'MoneyAM staff/management/IT staff' has been quite informal and helpful. Now that it has been set up and is running, is that what the site actually depends on these days, ie. the input from Users, to make it run at all?

dreamcatcher - 29 Nov 2018 14:09 - 134 of 459

still getting logged off when looking at a chart on stock watch and returning to the investor room. You do sadly begin to lose patience as this was reported weeks ago.

UKMoneyAM - 29 Nov 2018 14:43 - 135 of 459

Thanks for your questions.

MoneyAM is owned by AJ Bell Media, so the information on the web page is correct. We always try to resolves these issues as quickly as possible. We appreciate you bringing them to our attention.

Our IT team have reset our server, and corrected the problems. Please do email me if any problems arise again.

Best wishes,

Dee

Dynamite - 29 Nov 2018 16:27 - 136 of 459

It is the one day charts which are not found. All five of mine are missing inc. UKX

One day charts not working for me either.

55011 - 17 Dec 2018 14:08 - 153 of 459

ASC. The "one day" chart shows, but bears little relation to reality as shown by current trades. Looks as if there is an hour or so lag....

UKMoneyAM - 17 Dec 2018 16:46 - 154 of 459

Hi all - thanks for your messages. Please could you send me the epic codes for the charts which don't seem to be working. Thanks, Dee

bluedragon - 18 Dec 2018 08:34 - 155 of 459

Same problem today - One day charts 'not found' inc UKX. It also looks like no charts are being updated with todays prices - see also 2-day charts for UKX and NG.

55011 - 18 Dec 2018 09:38 - 156 of 459

ASC one day chart still looks as though it is an hour behind events.

Under Market Scan, the 52 week highs list is a work of fiction unfortunately. Many of those listed are probably down 30% plus since October :D

It’s a shame as I often use(d) this feature to get new ideas for research.

Any chance this can be rectified so that the highs on any given day are higher than the previous 52 weeks?

Thank you.

Hi Mo06 - Thanks for your messages. I have spoken with IT who are looking into the issue. In the meantime, you can find the FTSE 350 Mining chart on our sister website, Shares.

Thanks, Dee

Likewise, the 52 week highs table is all wrong, badly programmed I guess, as all kinds of shares are listed there many of whom are 30% - 50% below their recent highs. I first raised this here in late December.

In today’s market, there are very few stocks making 52 week highs but it would be good to know at a glance who they are.

Thanks in advance.

yes ... charts are NOT loading, custom charts but mostly Live Intraday ... they load for a couple of seconds only...

UKMoneyAM - 14 Jan 2019 14:32 - 197 of 459

Hi both - Thanks for your messages. All is working correctly from our side now. Please could you send an email with a screenshot of the error to mediasupport@ajbell.co.uk if you are still having some difficulties and I will look into this immediately. Thanks, Dee

Bel1ze8SA - 15 Jan 2019 07:45 - 198 of 459

sorry unable to screenshot, but its quite simple... the intraday chart either fails to load, or loads for a short time and then disappears, leaving just the box below where we input our preferred settings.
The chart may or may not reappear later and will disappear again.

These were working perfectly well last week.
Issue continues this morning.

UPDATE .... custom chart failing as well today

iiwarm - 21 Jan 2019 12:31 - 204 of 459

Is the email I just received re moving to Shares genuine?

RKhan1958 - 21 Jan 2019 12:33 - 205 of 459

We lose free access to live share data (it is at least 15 mins delayed at 'Shares'). Thanks a lot.

greekman - 21 Jan 2019 12:37 - 206 of 459

Hi RKhan,

It does say,'live share prices' so I better received what they say or I will want my money back.

greekman - 21 Jan 2019 12:48 - 207 of 459

I have just signed up to the offer which stated .'Live Share prices' and yet when I open the website it states 15 mins delay to FTSE 100.

Is this correct, if so I demand my subscription be cancelled plus a return of the £9.

Also will my portfolio be transferred automatically.

RKhan1958 - 21 Jan 2019 12:52 - 208 of 459

I was comparing live share prices on MoneyAm with a free account (which is what I have today) with a 15 min delay to share prices on 'Shares' with a free account.

greekman - 21 Jan 2019 13:07 - 209 of 459

As the £9 deal looked good, I thought I would give it a go. Will depend how good the site is, plus how long to answer posts on here, as to if it's worth continuing or not.

UKMoneyAM - 21 Jan 2019 15:46 - 210 of 459

Hi all - Thanks for your messages. To answer your questions, I can confirm that the email which has been sent out stating that MoneyAm is moving to Shares is a genuine email. The site will move on 21st February 2019.

By signing up to a Free Shares subscription you can access Stockwatch with a 15minute delay on the prices, as is currently available on a Free MoneyAM subscription. If you are a Paid subscriber to Shares you will receive live prices, which is equivalent to having an Active or Level 2 subscription. These will be available to view as a snapshot version. You can refresh the page to get the latest up-to-date prices. Our IT team are constantly looking to improve Shares and hope to have a stream version of live prices on Stockwatch in the future. UK Indices will be delayed by 15 minutes on all accounts.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Best wishes,

Dee

Stan - 21 Jan 2019 17:47 - 211 of 459

Hello Dee,

Thats a shame I don't see a message board facility on the Shares website.

So what's the attraction to move for anyone on here that we can't at other places?

Ed: Why don't you migrate this message board to Shares?

bunlop - 21 Jan 2019 18:00 - 212 of 459

Sorry Moneyam but without a streaming version of stockwatch with trade info and other headings this is a non starter for me. Very sad day!

Barnetpeter2629 - 21 Jan 2019 18:11 - 213 of 459

This is a bit misleading Dee and I think you should be honest else disappointed investors may well complain to the FCA. You are closing moneyam down in reality it seems and it appears that everything for the trader that they need daily will go. Instead Shares magazine is offering a magazine subscription deal with no level 2, no streaming prices ..in effect stuff that is available free elsewhere. Please don’t try to mislead even if this is not your intention. This is not the same service at all...and many paid subscribers like me have spent years building up detailed lists and stockwatches etc.

Barnetpeter2629 - 21 Jan 2019 18:15 - 214 of 459

Snapshot version! Really???? That is free everywhere. Currently we pay not to have something like this.

Very sad at this and disappointed you have given members so little warning / time.

cowshapedfish - 21 Jan 2019 18:18 - 215 of 459

Well this is sad. I need L2 and streaming prices so the idea of registering with Shares and only receiving a 15 minutes delayed price service is simply pre-historic in the extreme. That's 1990's nonsense.

Can someone confirm that my credit-card details and all personal information will be completely wiped and then destroyed off the MAM system and that these details will not be passed to Shares mag or AJ Bell? I hope this doesn't happen..

I've been with MAM for over a decade or more so this news is very sad

Many thanks and hope there's no job losses.

can someone reply?

Haystack - 21 Jan 2019 19:36 - 216 of 459

MoneyAm has been owned by AJ Bell for years, so I guess they already have all of your details.

zscrooge - 21 Jan 2019 19:37 - 217 of 459

So all info on notes will be lost.
Prices will be delayed.

Please make sure when the time comes that all my credit card details and personal info are wiped from records.

Shame. Was a good service apart from the obvoius outages at certain times.

banjomick - 21 Jan 2019 19:42 - 218 of 459

So, will that be the end of this 'Investors Room' then?

banjomick - 21 Jan 2019 20:28 - 219 of 459

They do appear to have a share forum facility (just to answer my own question):

https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/forum/categories/stocks

cowshapedfish - 21 Jan 2019 20:42 - 220 of 459

What date is the service closing down?

Any ideas of another decent provider of L2?

Bones - 21 Jan 2019 20:56 - 221 of 459

Any clues where I can access Level 2 with a similar colour scheme?! I love my black background :)

Great shame this. Guess it is inevitable with Bullshare departed :(

Haystack - 21 Jan 2019 21:06 - 222 of 459

Looks like you have to subscribe to a premium account to post to the bulletin board/forum

Stan - 21 Jan 2019 21:34 - 223 of 459

It does have one though by the looks of Banjo's link.

Haystack - 21 Jan 2019 21:41 - 224 of 459

Not very active forum. Last post was before Christmas.

Stan - 21 Jan 2019 21:53 - 225 of 459

Only had a brief look does it have a general forum like MaM or is it separate threads as it appears H/S?

banjomick - 21 Jan 2019 21:54 - 226 of 459

Payed the £9 offer for 3 months (was paying £12 month here, mainly for stockwatch) to give it a go.

The £9 (usually £33 per quarter)is for the Premium Subscription package enabling you to post but at the moment the forum hasn't updated itself so not sure what you can post eg pictures bold/ coloured text ect. Looks like you can post a chart that updates.

Haystack - 21 Jan 2019 21:55 - 227 of 459

Separate threads. But you could start up a general thread

banjomick - 21 Jan 2019 21:58 - 228 of 459

Yes

https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/forum/categories/general

banjomick - 21 Jan 2019 22:06 - 229 of 459

Looks like I'll have to wait until tomorrow before the site updates itself (bit like MAM :-) ) and have the premium subscription activated.

greekman - 22 Jan 2019 07:25 - 230 of 459

The e-mail from MoneyAm said this for what you receive for the £9 trial .

Weekly digital magazine
Live share prices
Customisable live watchlist
Unlimited access to archive content
Investor toolkit
Unlimited access to online content
Latest broker forecasts and director deals

Note the live share price. I took this to be a running live price, not a refreshing price.

I rushed into this deal (not like me to do so).

Won't be taking the deal up fully, as I can get live share price free by re-freshing, which is what I will have to do on the new share site.

cowshapedfish - 22 Jan 2019 08:11 - 231 of 459

I need live, streaming prices and Level-2. The shares website does not offer this so what's the point? I'll be forced to go to ADVFN, LSE or Sharescope though that is way too expensive at £115/pcm...

any ideas out there?

Stan - 22 Jan 2019 08:13 - 232 of 459

Hold on all I hoping that someone with the required expertise on here reading this has the technical know how to set and run just a shares bulletin board website.

Anyone willing and able out there?

UKMoneyAM - 22 Jan 2019 12:02 - 233 of 459

Hi all - Thanks for your messages.

I understand that to many of you our recent news about MoneyAM will come as a disappointment and to those who have been with us for many years we can only express our gratitude for your loyal custom. This decision wasn't one which we took lightly, however as technology is ever evolving and improving we decided that the website in its present form has run its course.

We have tried very hard to integrate the tools and services, which were popular with most of our MoneyAM users, onto Shares. Unfortunately, this no longer includes the Level 2 service. I understand your frustration if the sole purpose you have a MoneyAM subscription is to use Level 2 and I can only apologise that we are no longer offering this service. I am aware that many other platforms do offer Level 2 if it is what you desire. Otherwise, I would encourage you to try Shares and see how you feel after getting used to the website and reading the helpful weekly magazine.

I know many of you have questioned the stockwatch service on Shares. To clarify, all share prices are live for Premium customers on Shares. At the moment Shares runs a screenshot version of the live prices however this will be changed to a live stream service next month, which is the same as an Active or Level 2 subscription on MoneyAM. Those people who hold a Free account on Shares will receive a 15 minute delay, which is the same as a Free account on MoneyAM. The Shares site will constantly be being improved over the next few months. Any helpful recommendations from our users will be taken into consideration.

To clarify, www.moneyam.com will not be live from 21st February 2019, you will not be able to access this website. After this date, all of your information which was stored on the site, including card information will be wiped. To comply with the GDPR law, none of your personal data will be moved to Shares. If you have already registered with Shares the contact details you provided then will be how we contact you.

I do hope this has clarified a few points for you but as ever, if you have any questions do ask.

Best wishes,

Dee

greekman - 22 Jan 2019 12:18 - 234 of 459

Hi Dee,

Just seen your e-mail reply to myself, stating that for premium customers, share prices are live.

Does my 3 month trial start from when it becomes live, otherwise it would have been best to take up the offer nearer the live date.

Also will my stockwatch/portfolio be carried over automatically, or will I have to set up both again.

Greek.

Mega Bucks - 22 Jan 2019 12:22 - 235 of 459

Alas i wont be transferring over to the new Shares website, good luck and especially a big thanks to Mike !!

UKMoneyAM - 22 Jan 2019 12:29 - 236 of 459

Hi Greekman - Prices are live for Premier customers at the minute however, they are in a screenshot format. Next month the Shares stockwatch will look very similar (apart from the aesthetic design/branding layout) as the MoneyAM one does now.

As MoneyAM and Shares are built differently, the former being built on very dated software, I’m afraid we are unable to move user’s personal portfolios. I’m sure you can understand the difficulty of trying to merge old software with new technology (especially if you are an iPhone user). If you do have any questions on how to use the Portfolio tool on Shares please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks, Dee

Barnetpeter2629 - 22 Jan 2019 12:36 - 237 of 459

Thanks Dee

The critical issue for subscribers is streaming prices. Pointless without those as the poster above points out.

What about charts, risers and fallers? I presume the BB will be all lost.

I do understand the site is very old now and hard to maintain.

Why do this change in the middle of the month? Why not 1 March perhaps? with even more notice would have been fairer.

This out of the blue email is very poor customer service to be honest. Many thought it was a scam. I certainly did. You have not put a notice on the site even.

I think you will lose a lot of the excellent goodwill Moneyam has built up over the years and I wonder if Shares will even be here in a year.

It all seems a bit cheap and nasty....I was quite happy paying more for the current service.

Shame but there you go.

zscrooge - 22 Jan 2019 12:58 - 238 of 459

Thanks Dee. Couple of things on the new set up on a premium account.
1. Will there be a section for notes?
2. Will there be easy access (as present) to charts, trade data?
3. Is it definitley going to move to streaming as opposed to snapshot?

Bel1ze8SA - 22 Jan 2019 15:35 - 239 of 459

So ... no live prices (over at "shares"), which many rely on.

Does anyone know of another comparable service????
I need a "live" stockwatch

Hargreaves Lansdown offer a watchlist if you have an account with them.
Has anybody used them or can offer feedback ??

Sequestor - 22 Jan 2019 15:49 - 240 of 459

hose people who hold a Free account on Shares will receive a 15 minute delay, which is the same as a Free account on MoneyAM. The Shares site will constantly be being improved ove

................

Nope, wrong MAM free Stockwatch is live, ["All share prices are live. UK Indices are 15 minutes delayed] only the indices are delayed and when time is up a refresh brings the live share price back - will the new site reflect this ` freebie"?

banjomick - 22 Jan 2019 16:43 - 241 of 459

Fred1new - 22 Jan 2019 16:56 - 243 of 459

Do you mean the not found bit?

banjomick - 22 Jan 2019 16:59 - 244 of 459

yes and also 'Forum' is missing from the list on RHS

banjomick - 22 Jan 2019 17:13 - 245 of 459

Just realised when I joined Shares last night you weren't asked to choose a username so there most be further work regarding the share BB/Forum on Share!

dell314 - 22 Jan 2019 21:07 - 246 of 459

Why has the forthcoming end of level 2 service etc been so poorly communicated to customers and with such short notice? This is disgraceful!

I initially thought the Shares offer was for the same service I am currently getting and almost signed up before I realised that it was a much reduced service.

Haystack - 22 Jan 2019 21:10 - 247 of 459

The Shares interface looks old fashioned compared to MAM. It doesn't seem to an intuitive tool for research, analysis and investment.

Haystack - 22 Jan 2019 21:39 - 248 of 459

I think that AJ Bell raised about £170m in their recent IPO. I would have thought they could afford a better site than the Shares site.

Sequestor - 23 Jan 2019 07:37 - 249 of 459

No reply re. live share prices, existing on MAM ,being available on Shares ah well, no such thing as a free lunch..

Sequestor - 23 Jan 2019 07:39 - 250 of 459

All share prices are live. UK Indices are 15 minutes delayed unless you are a Plus subscriber. Foreign indices are delayed

Bones - 23 Jan 2019 08:52 - 251 of 459

Why would a leading stockbroker-owned investor website not offer level 2? Surely it would encourage trading in shares and boost commissions?

I find the MAM L2 screen so useful (almost addictive) with its little live chart and trade list streaming away in the corner. It will be a big miss for me.

In all likelihood, I will subscribe to SharePadPro at considerable extra cost but the features will make it worthwhile personally.

Sequestor - 23 Jan 2019 09:17 - 252 of 459

MAM was a spin of from ADVFN,

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 09:22 - 253 of 459

Not exactly. Mike Boydell left ADVFN and set it up independently. It was developed by IST which was run by Derek Lambert.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 09:38 - 254 of 459

So is there no one on here with the expertise to just set up a website with say just a forum to start with and then build on it later?

Mike, see the Welcome to Moneyam thread last night, he wanted to pop in and say goodbye but his account has gone ;-) He tried reset but computer said no. He had a message though:

"i am a lamb, i am"

Not sure what it means but then I never did understand that lamb.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 10:03 - 261 of 459

I repeat, So is there no one on here with the expertise to just set up a website with say just a forum to start with and then build on it later?

Mo06 - 23 Jan 2019 11:25 - 262 of 459

Just seen the notice regarding terminating the MAM service.

I need to know if the Shares service include streaming prices, and also streaming trades ?

Also is ADVFN still using java for the live prices ? Been years since I used it.

Thanks in advance.

Mo06 - 23 Jan 2019 11:53 - 263 of 459

Also when I go to the Shares site to subscribe to the MAM offer I just get directed to the manage subscription page (I registered for a free account earlier)....?

Mo06 - 23 Jan 2019 12:12 - 264 of 459

Stan - you could use the forum at http://www.livecharts.co.uk

Already a few traders there, I have my own FTSE large cap thread.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 12:20 - 265 of 459

Oh really Mo I had no idea that they have a forum there thanks, I will have a gander.

Fred1new - 23 Jan 2019 12:28 - 266 of 459

I like MAM and find it useful, but have Sharepad and Sharescope running which satisfy my "needs".

Have a look at https://www.sharescope.co.uk/sharepad.jsp. May interest a few.

Has an interesting trading training area and articles.

It has a very limited chat room which I have never used.

Forgot, also has charges.

banjomick - 23 Jan 2019 13:03 - 268 of 459

Just got a reply back from 'Shares' regarding their BB/Forum that was there and then got removed:

"Hi, As a user of MAM for last 12 years I subscribed to Shares via the £9 offer but don't appear to be able to use the 'Forum' it says I need to have a Premium Account which I assumed I now have?"

Reply:

"Thanks for your email. Apologies for my delayed response.

We no longer have the Forum on Shares as many users didn’t use it. I understand that this may come as a disappointment to many of our MAM users, who regularly used the Trader’s and Investor’s chatroom. If you would like to continue using a Stocks and Shares forum I know there are many very good platforms available online and would encourage you to explore those. Alternatively, I have used Reddit as a tool for personal information on the market. This is a worldwide platform with many good brain’s able to aid you. I am very sorry for any disappointment this may have caused. I would like to personally thank you for being a loyal customer."

Barnetpeter2629 - 23 Jan 2019 13:42 - 269 of 459

It just gets worse. No forum to add to the long list.

greekman - 23 Jan 2019 15:00 - 270 of 459

As Shares have suggested looking at other sites for forums, I would like to suggest http://www.lse.co.uk. I did want to post this suggestion sooner but I thought Mam or Shares would object. I think the lse site is great and I know many who posted on Mam and iii have tried it. Like all sites, you get a few idiots but in general most posts are very good.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 15:09 - 271 of 459

Bel1ze8SA - 23 Jan 2019 16:53 - 278 of 459

As far as I can see MaM is not moving to Shares. Mam is closing down and subscribers here have been offered a discounted introductory offer to Shares, which does not have the features we are used to here. A rather poorly worded email and banner, which does not reflect the reality. It's been 10 years here, but I'll survive it.
Good luck to everyone else.

greekman - 24 Jan 2019 13:49 - 289 of 459

Mo06,

Yes they have a similar stockwatch.

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 15:01 - 291 of 459

Well I have had no luck in subscribing to Shares, and they cannot be bothered to reply to e-mails, which is NOT a good sign.

I may go the LSE.CO.UK route, they replied very swiftly to my questions.

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 15:03 - 292 of 459

But have they got a free stockwatch with live prices though?

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 15:24 - 293 of 459

Stan - are you replying to me ?

I believe they have a similar stockwatch.

Just under £20 pm for live prices.

http://www.lse.co.uk/premium/

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 15:28 - 294 of 459

Yes Mo, but that’s £120 a year! you only have to register on MAM so effectively free.

I and I think most on here are looking for the same deal.

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 15:33 - 295 of 459

Well I pay £12 pm for MAM.

I actually get live prices with my broker Charles Stanley, but it times out after 20 mins I think.

Been reasonably happy with MAM apart from a few chart issues , I mainly use MAM just for prices/trades.

Pity they are ending the service (and why such short notice ????)

Maybe if a few more people paid instead of getting free service, they'd be able to continue.

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 15:45 - 296 of 459

All depends what is important to you as an investor or trader.

As I say live prices for free is the big draw for me and the links off it like charts and RSN,s etc.

If someone can point me to a similar site at that rate that would be great, so far no one has.

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 15:50 - 297 of 459

How do you get live prices free ?

Dil - 24 Jan 2019 16:04 - 298 of 459

Stan , shhhhhhhh

:-)

iturama - 24 Jan 2019 16:12 - 299 of 459

Stan is a socialist. They get everything for nothing. Give nothing as well.

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 16:18 - 300 of 459

You tell him Dil )-:

As I say Mo on here now by just registering but I don’t know anywhere else at least that is as good as here.

Advfn or what ever there called do free live prices but need constant refreshing, also I think google finance used to but not sure about that now..anyone give an update on google please.

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 16:26 - 301 of 459

Google sheets was good but had loads of issues recently.

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 16:28 - 302 of 459

Oh really but do they still do live prices like stockwatch?

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 16:42 - 303 of 459

Well the Googlefinance() function is quite powerful, but te data is more delayed than it was about a year ago, used to be maybe 30 sec to a minute delayed, much more now for some reason (I think they slowed it down intentionally).

Still very handy for an overview of the market though.

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 16:44 - 304 of 459

Simplt Google sheets spreadsheet (data from a couple of years ago)..

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 17:00 - 305 of 459

Thanks Mo that looks very good to the eye.

HARRYCAT - 24 Jan 2019 18:02 - 306 of 459

Mo, is that using Java?
Many web users have now moved to HTML5 as Chrome does not support Java applets.

Kyoto - 24 Jan 2019 18:55 - 307 of 459

It's not Java - it's a Google spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com) using the GoogleFinance function to bring in prices.
They don't stream - it's a snapshot - but a reasonably live one. I built a something similar to the one above. As it's Google
they'll suddenly decide to discontinue it one day. A reference:

Mo06 - 24 Jan 2019 18:59 - 308 of 459

That's just a screenshot of my Googledocs sheet.

Uses Googlefinance function plus conditional formatting etc etc.

I have another of the Dow 30 stocks - give you a very quick overview of what's rising and falling over the pond.

Stan - 25 Jan 2019 09:35 - 313 of 459

Not me Mo still waiting for something to emerge.

iturama - 25 Jan 2019 11:07 - 314 of 459

More to the point, I haven't received notice of my MAM payment this month. I usually receive an email on the 23 or 24. Has it stopped taking subscriptions or just a hick-up?

Mo06 - 25 Jan 2019 11:32 - 315 of 459

iturama, I received this from MoneyAM on 21st Jan:

"Since February will be the last month of MoneyAM, your final payment has already been taken."

iturama - 25 Jan 2019 13:52 - 316 of 459

Thank you Mo. Nothing yet for me. Last 3 months the notification was on the 23.

RKhan1958 - 31 Jan 2019 12:04 - 317 of 459

I'm trying yahoo finance. Seems okay for my needs at the moment. Supposedly real-time prices I believe.

iturama - 01 Feb 2019 08:16 - 318 of 459

Instead of promising an improved service from Shares sometime this month, the sensible way to treat and persuade MAM customers to swap would have been to build the new live prices platform first that was just as good. The way this has been done is a dog's breakfast.

bunlop - 03 Feb 2019 18:02 - 319 of 459

It would be very helpful if Moneyam would tell us as soon as the Shares stockwatch has been upgraded.

MAM didn’t take the subscription if you were going to get less than a full month’s service. Fair enough.

Dynamite - 06 Feb 2019 14:30 - 322 of 459

Hi
Has anyone tried London South East for a similar version of £am terminal or know what they are like for a consistent service?
I tried the Shares £am offer but couldn't get beyond the payment page as it wouldn't accept any card. Their customer service don't answer emails either!

Mo06 - 06 Feb 2019 16:33 - 323 of 459

The whole thing has been very poorly handled.

Dynamite - 06 Feb 2019 17:13 - 324 of 459

I did get a response but decided against the Shares offer as I already get the Mag through Youinvest. I've tried London SE ...not good. Premium account doesn't give a terminal with L2. L2 has to be accessed via a separate page for each company. Fundamentals show accounts not updated since 2015! I'm being refunded again.
Back to the drawing board.. Suggestions please.

kernow - 06 Feb 2019 18:23 - 325 of 459

just signed up for the free Shares account. Took an exchange of e mails to find and an inexpicable day for the instant activation token to be emailed.
No time to play now but it does have portfollio, directore deals, broker and news options. Also a stockwatch option from feb 20th with live prices, so it says.
Might be enough for me.

Stan - 06 Feb 2019 19:14 - 326 of 459

Kernow if you take up the option when the stockwatch is up and running could you post your evaluation on it on here, you will only have one day so please bare that in mind.

greekman - 07 Feb 2019 08:20 - 331 of 459

I hope that many on here go over to LSE as the vast majority on here have contributed with good input on different shares and the LSE site is the best I have seen for community comments, of course there are some idiots posting as there always will be.

Would be good to see you over there, even if you only join as free members.

Stan - 07 Feb 2019 08:48 - 332 of 459

Thanks Kernow...I'll see what I do about those pesky tourists invading every summer, mind you I believe that we tax payers subsidise Cornwell and Devon to the tune of £50 a year on your water bills so we are only using what we've payed for 😎

Dil email Dee I have from the start of this news and she does respond within that day.

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 15:48 - 342 of 459

Well if you've asked her why don't you just tell me ?

iturama - 07 Feb 2019 16:03 - 343 of 459

Don't ask him difficult questions. It makes his head hurt. I've noticed that you can move your stock watch from MAM to Shares come the day. That's a good start.

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 16:06 - 344 of 459

That will save a lot of hassle.

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 16:09 - 345 of 459

Can you choose a new user name too

I'm thinking of changing mine to Bullshare , Martini or maybe Stan even :-)

kernow - 07 Feb 2019 16:14 - 346 of 459

Fair point Stan but I now have to pay 20p a visit to most costal loos. With my prostate I think I make a loss 😩
Set up a slockwatch and confirm data is 15 min delayed but promises live prices from 20th to subscribers. No trade data.
With my AJ Bell SIPP and ISA accounts and not day trading twill suit me I think.

I refuse to pay for a call of nature on principle Kernow its just not cricket and frankly I resent paying for stopwatch and still looking for free live prices.

Geez if you want something done properly ....

iturama - 08 Feb 2019 07:43 - 350 of 459

You should know better than to ask him a simple question,Dil. He may be simple but he doesn’t do answers. Even refuses to pay for a pee or a stopwatch 🙄. Typical gimme socialist. The security at Poundland no doubt have a photo of him on the wall .

Good morning,

Would it be possible to give me (free) access to the Traders Room for a week? I've a number of posts from around 10-15 years ago I'd like to see if I can find and copy them before they get lost forever.

Many thanks

Guilty secrets?

Mo06 - 08 Feb 2019 11:40 - 354 of 459

I just logged onto the Shares website & read the FTSE 100 headline 'news'...

'FTSE set for flat start ahead of Easter break'....

Dated 29th Mar 2018...

Doesn't bode well does it.........?

Mo06 - 08 Feb 2019 11:41 - 355 of 459

I had to check the date of Easter when I read that.

Hi
I wasn't going to sign up for the Shares offer but seeing as we are being promised a live stockwatch I thought I would give it a go after all. I'm pleased to see I can now add all my shares and funds in one place on a portfolio there. It says these will be live streaming from 20th feb

Hi all - To clarify there won't be a bulletin board on Shares.

CC - You should have access to the BB, do let me know if you have any issues.

Any other questions do let me know.

Thanks, Dee

Mo06 - 11 Feb 2019 10:46 - 362 of 459

'I don`t understand why the existing MAM a/c can`r just be transferred to Shares?'

That would assume a sensible world, peopled by competent people.

iturama - 11 Feb 2019 11:25 - 363 of 459

I have just registered and it went ok. To a point. Payment went through and I received the activation link on my phone. I can access the site via my phone but via PC it is saying activation required even though my details are shown. Bug somewhere.

iturama - 11 Feb 2019 15:14 - 364 of 459

Update. Now all ok on my mac. Stockwatch preview looks similar to that on MAM. Live streaming prices from 20 Feb.

UKMoneyAM - 11 Feb 2019 16:43 - 365 of 459

Hi bunlop - Thanks for your message. We won't have Trades or Volume data in the stockwatch. However you can find the these under each individual stock page on Shares.

greekman - 13 Feb 2019 14:20 - 373 of 459

Hi Dee

E-Mail sent.

I think it is the wording on the site that is misleading as it still shows me 'free registration, £0 paid' but it does allow me paid access.

greekman - 13 Feb 2019 16:28 - 374 of 459

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your e-mail reply, all sorted.

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 16:39 - 375 of 459

Hello Dee,

I signed up for the an upgrade before Christmas the £50 one and obviously won't now get the full year value, I assume that I will get a refund on my unused portion?

Also stockwatch is not uninterrupted as I thought it would be as part of the upgrade deal, can you confirm.

Bel1ze8SA - 14 Feb 2019 08:49 - 376 of 459

Dee.
I emailed them via the internal contact form
https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/contact-us

I can't remember the exact wording, but it would have been related to SW being 100% live and un-interrupted, ditto trades, ditto live intraday. When I say live, as in not delayed, not interrupted, not requiring refresh.

As someone pointed out earlier, it would be quite easy to migrate the mam software whatever, over to shares

Mo06 - 14 Feb 2019 10:53 - 377 of 459

I have subscribed to Shares now.

Question - will the live stockwatch have at a minimum, the following fields:

Open
High
Low
Close
Trade time
Trade size
Total volume traded ?

iturama - 14 Feb 2019 11:05 - 378 of 459

Dee answered that a few days back Mo. You will have to look at the individual stock data to get the volume and individual trades. Appears Moneyam was ahead of its time.

Mo06 - 14 Feb 2019 11:57 - 382 of 459

No good, I need live streaming prices. Will give Shares a try, complication is that I'm away next week, sod's law...

Mo06 - 14 Feb 2019 12:27 - 383 of 459

Despite taking up the £9 offer, Shares site logs me out after a period.

Hope this well be fixed before live day.

Stan - 14 Feb 2019 16:34 - 392 of 459

Is that the same on Barclays Fred, times out?

Fred1new - 14 Feb 2019 16:42 - 393 of 459

I don't know.

I have a number of ISA through Barclays, but gave up using them for info, at the time of the platform changes. It is getting a bit pricey.

I liked MAM and may use it, but like sharepad and Sharescope and use them for normal investing.

Also, find CMC for share betting and like in general its Charting and prices etc.

But will miss MAM.

C'est la vie.

Fred1new - 15 Feb 2019 16:27 - 394 of 459

Stan,

Had a closer look at Barclays.

Seems to have everything which Momneyam has except BBs/

The problem is its layout for me is inferior, but maybe I am beginning to dislike change.

Some of the features are interesting.

Stan - 15 Feb 2019 16:54 - 395 of 459

A live stockwatch as well?

UKMoneyAM - 15 Feb 2019 17:27 - 396 of 459

Is the 'live' stockwatch and RNS alert buttons working over on Shares because it isn't for me

kimoldfield - 20 Feb 2019 10:23 - 401 of 459

Nor for me foxman!

iturama - 20 Feb 2019 10:40 - 402 of 459

They didn't say what time on the 20th. I would have thought at the start of trading but obviously they are still working on it.

Bel1ze8SA - 20 Feb 2019 11:28 - 403 of 459

So the SW on Shares appears to be limited to 5 columns.
mid ... chg ... % ... bid.....offer.

I would like to see
cum.vol ... t.price ... t.time .... trdHI .... trdLO .... close ... open....
%spread .... buy vol .... sell vol.

Also some colours for up/down/no change

It's a pretty limited picture, so imagine if it doesn't improve there will be a mass exodus when the 9quid deal expires

Do you have any plans to recreate the MoneyAM stockwatch in all its customisable glory on the Shares site?

If so, I'll be happy to become a paying Shares subscriber, but the current Shares stockwatch is far too limited for my needs.

iturama - 20 Feb 2019 14:46 - 408 of 459

Thanks for the e-mail re stockwatch.

Stan - 20 Feb 2019 16:52 - 413 of 459

Dil I expect the end to be tomorrow night now and not tonight, I think Dee would have said if tonight.

greekman - 20 Feb 2019 17:40 - 414 of 459

I hope things improve. My portfolio on MaM is showing up on the day at over £100 (correct) and yet its down on Shares web site. Presumably my portfolio has not updated on Shares at it is showing figures for yesterday even after 1700 hrs and over 30 mins since the market closed. As a subscriber, I expected better than this.

If things don't improve and quickly, I won't be renewing after the 3 month offer finishes.

Once stockwatch is live on the shares site can someone post a screenshot (or link to one) so we can see what data it offers and the format please. Presumably, it won't be quite the same as the old screenshot currently displayed on Shares' live data page.

phd - 21 Feb 2019 08:46 - 421 of 459

As it stands sharesmag doesnt provide auto-refreshing stockwatch like moneyam.
You need to keep refreshing the page. Definitely a big step backwards from moneyams solution.

However it does say "The new stockwatch is coming during the day of 21 Febuary"

Are they integrating moneyam's superior stockwatch?
Lets hope so, otherwise I wont be renewing the subscription.

iturama - 21 Feb 2019 08:55 - 422 of 459

From what Dee has been saying, the new shares stockwatch will be the same as the old one except that it will be live streaming instead of the 15 min delay. Let's wait and see. Nothing stays still so maybe it will improve with time. It is difficult to understand why they don't get that what they are working on is a big step back.

cowshapedfish - 21 Feb 2019 08:58 - 423 of 459

I had to sign up to the 'other side' for double the price of MAM. I needed L2.

My reason for staying with MAM was its easy on the eye, visually pleasing stockwatch monitor..no other monitor is as good. If the Shares version is similar to the old MAM monitor then I could live without L2

The ADVFN monitor is tough to watch all day...LSE is awful which left Sharescope and that's £100 pcm...

Stan - 21 Feb 2019 08:58 - 424 of 459

I got the impression from Dee that the stockwatch here will be replicated on Shares.

champagne ronny - 21 Feb 2019 09:06 - 425 of 459

Everything that Shares is offering can be matched or bettered at Investing.com for free.

I would have happily migrated but to expect people to pay for (what appears) a very inferior stockwatch and 15 min delayed movers page is baffling. If I'm wrong and Shares are going to improve stockwatch and have live movers then apologies.

I pretty much trade ftse100 stocks now so I could probably get away with not having level 2 and anyhow level 2 isn't the indicator it once was with many of today's shenanigans... thinking might of hedgies.

I've been here nearly 20 years and Moneyam has helped me make a good living out of the market so my heartfelt thanks to all that set up the site, contributed and helped in the background. Moneyam platform visual wise is second to none and many bugs have been ironed out over the years. I always thought this platform could rival any with some investment. A sad day, once again a great big thank you to all, past and present.

Starving in Comfort - 21 Feb 2019 09:22 - 426 of 459

The Shares stockwatch is a complete & utter joke.
No refresh facility, have to reload the page and you get the live price, but it stays at that price until the page is reloaded.
MAM has been recommending this service and I would have expected they would use their experience gained over the years of running this Stockwatch to ensure a similar experience.
Truly rubbish.
I have paid the £9 but it will be the last they get from me.

RKhan1958 - 21 Feb 2019 10:38 - 427 of 459

The live prices which MAM said would happen on SHARES today haven`t, also I notice that the live price promise shown on here for today has disappeared

Marge - 21 Feb 2019 12:40 - 432 of 459

Hello all you Peeps,

Sad to see MAM drift into the sunset. It has by far the best Level 2 aesthetically and ADFVN is like a badly made up pizza topping. For a cheaper alternative I'm trying www.lse.co.uk. £23.99 a month, rolling contract. It works OK so far and is OK for basic info on live Level 2 etc. Just got get used to it. See how it goes.

Bullshare - 21 Feb 2019 12:54 - 433 of 459

The message on the Shares site does say . 'The new stockwatch is coming during the day of 21 Feburary' . Don't think the day is yet up so assume they are working on launching it

Bel1ze8SA - 21 Feb 2019 13:18 - 434 of 459

Anywhere that has reasonable "live" charts including Intraday ...????
uk investing looks a bit basic and no intraday

There's supposed to be live charts on the shares site, but seems they are unable to deliver on it

Sequestor - 21 Feb 2019 13:19 - 435 of 459

Ah yes.

iturama - 21 Feb 2019 13:21 - 436 of 459

They said that yesterday. Instead of reinventing the wheel it looks like they are prepared to throw it away altogether and reinvent the sled. I hope it is better than the current offering. If advfn looks like a badly topped pizza, with which I agree, the current Shares stockwatch looks like a pizza with no topping at all.

Well it's not like they haven't had time to prepare, is it. They've had a month, and MAM could surely have set it all up for them.
I reloaded the Stockwatch page , on Shares, at 0818 today. It still shows 0818 and the prices are the exact same as they were at 0818.
It is shambolic, pathetic, basic, a still page. They do not deserve to continue in business. They surely will not get mine.

Signed up free with investing.com.
Portfolio page gives

All live
Not quite as easy on the eye as MAM (or the completely dead still frame that is Shares)

phil1000 - 21 Feb 2019 15:06 - 440 of 459

The Money am stockwatch page is the perfect model of how to do something in a simple and effective way. It has stood the test of time and needs no improvement in my view.

I though I might post this - just in case anyone from Shares is listening.

UKMoneyAM - 21 Feb 2019 15:42 - 441 of 459

Hi guys,

Good news - I've seen the new stockwatch which will be implemented on Shares and it will be a very smooth transition from MAM. It looks great! We will also have a Live Trades page which I feel will be clearer and more helpful than before. We are at this moment experiencing a few last minute, unforeseen technical hiccups, therefore the new features on Shares may end up being implemented at midnight/tomorrow. MAM will remain open as usual until this time.

Thanks, Dee

champagne ronny - 21 Feb 2019 15:46 - 442 of 459

Will you have a similar movers page like

https://www.moneyam.com/research/perc_gain_lose.php?direction=asc&index=&prices=&timespan=today

UKMoneyAM - 21 Feb 2019 15:55 - 443 of 459

Hi champagne ronny - we have a similar page on Share at the moment:

https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/market-scan/risers-fallers?dateComparison=2019-02-21&sortDirection=risers&index=&price=%2C&filtersubmitbtn=Update

bunlop - 21 Feb 2019 15:56 - 444 of 459

Dee. Thanks for info. It is like waiting to open pressies at Christmas with no idea what to expect. Hope it goes well and that Shares continues to develop its offering over time.

champagne ronny - 21 Feb 2019 15:57 - 445 of 459

Thanks but that appears to be delayed prices. Will these prices become live when you sort the site? Thanks.

Fred1new - 21 Feb 2019 16:00 - 446 of 459

Well, I have used MAM for 15 plus years and found it intuitively easy to use even if I didn't understand all the information being presented or some of the comments on various BBs.

I liked it's layout and also the responses from helpline on the few occasions I requested help.

I am sad to see it finish, but having played around with the "SHARES" edition although sometimes confused as per usual found the information as good, if not better than MAM barring or missing one or two functions.

I wish all well at Shares and MAM and I hope both prosper.

Au revoir mes amis et ennemis

champagne ronny - 21 Feb 2019 16:01 - 447 of 459

I think not offering level 2 is not a great move. Plenty on here would be keen to sign up and stick with a similar offering to what Moneyam has given us. Quite a few on twitter saying the same. Hope you re-consider.

Thanks. Well if the stockwatch and movers pages will be live for subscribers and pretty much in the same format as Moneyam they may have another customer.

A vote from me also on Level 2 provision. I would happily pay more than I was paying at MAM to get a copy of the service and easy-on-the-eye layout that was on offer at MAM.

I would then ditch the so-called alternatives that I am having to use (aka jazzy pizza toppings)!

Pretty please to reconsider?

I'll second that, or third or fourth or whatever it Bones!

Blimey, I know how Theresa May feels now! (Deadline approaching, no deal done yet...)

I have had level 2 for several years and would be prepared to pay more it if was transfered to the shares site.

What I carnt understand is, if shares owns both sites, why dont they keep the best stockwatch and just move the stockwatch and level 2 from moneyam to the shares site and everyone would be happy.

Fred1new - 21 Feb 2019 17:56 - 454 of 459

That would be too simple.

But I bet it isn't.

It's too much work.

It's that simple.

When the new Stockwatch on Shares is sorted can someone put up an image of what it looks like? What a ball-ache this is!

bunlop - 21 Feb 2019 18:56 - 457 of 459

Just logged into shares website. The new stockwatch looks good. You can go to news, charts and trade info from buttons rather like Moneyam stockwatch. Charts look good.
Just L2 missing. Please can we have it in due course.

More observations as I get ready to use it tomorrow. Stockwatch only displays 25 shares. Does not seen to be a scroll down to see my other 6 shares. I could see all 31 on Moneyam on one screen.

Okay so the charts are there now.
These are not MAM charts, pretty limited and no 200 dma.
Doesn't everyone need a 200??
No EMA
and the overlays are limited.
Someone just wrote a new program, when the MAM charts would have been just perfect.
Is there an intraday..... ?
