Banjomick, I have taken this from the July interims "We anticipate that the results for the second half of the year will show only marginal growth over the first half results with some easing of margins due to price pressure from competitors." Who are the competitors and have MDW good reason to be wary of them?

banjomick - 28 Oct 2008 01:40 - 4 of 28

kimoldfield,
Far too late for me to reply but I will tomorrow night.

But a quick reply would be that MDW took over the previously wound down MDT section and re branded and improved the equipment and during this time lost ground was understandably seen.

My opinion is that you have to read the whole interim results and not just the short term negativity.If you look into other companies they more or less say the same thing with the current climate and all.

From the said interims that you quoted:

Trading and Financial Overview

In the six month period to 30 April 2008, Group turnover was 4,371,000, an increase of 139% on the comparable period last year (2007: 1,829,000). This growth was attributable to:

Addition of the Medtronic product line for the first four months of fiscal year 2008 over the same period in fiscal year 2007;

Transfer of manufacturing capacity to an in-house process, enabling the Group to respond to customer orders and requests more rapidly;

Increased global revenues as a result of improved sales and marketing from the UK team, with continued sales from the US office;

The successful marketing of the consumable product lines, which includes catheters and electrodes;

The new Portascan + and Bardscan II are being well received by the marketplace which has been reflected by encouraging sales in the period;

All depends on how you want to look at MDW and your time scale,will they go bust with the initial outlay RE MDT and distribution network,I doubt that very much.Will there be a MBO,very much doubt it.Will they get bought out,quite possibly but not for at least 6-12 months time,imo.Will they progress further in 2008/2009......yes but just my opinion.

It's quite interesting that after going to all the trouble of setting up a thread which includes his name in the title,that he wishes not to post or maybe he hasn't seen it?

come on banjo......post a link to a training course or something...or a distribution agreement in mongolia or something

holders are getting dis-gruntled...usually you come up with some dross to fight them off.

go on banjo admit it this is a turkey of an investment......says a lot for you that most holders can call it like it is but you are blind to any critisism of the company.

are the board members taking about 500-700k or so a year from this......for what?

treblewide - 11 Aug'10 - 22:11 - 24518 of 24574

definition of a mupet? someone who does not use a stop loss and spanks all his money on 2 crappy stocks?

treblewide - 16 Aug'10 - 12:02 - 24548 of 24574

mick...you did not answer my question.....when would you ever sell these or are you so blinded that you will never do it? ie you are willing to take a 100% loss on them if it ever came to that?

optomistic - 16 Aug'10 - 17:12 - 24552 of 24574

daisymax, why should they make a statement. Let the sp drift to 3p or less....what a price for a potential MBO!

treblewide - 16 Aug'10 - 22:55 - 24565 of 24574

is it just me or does anyone else picture banjo rocking back and forwards in his chair in the loony bin mumbling that to himself

GON and MDW.....jeez it is enough to drive anyone mental

treblewide - 16 Aug'10 - 23:16 - 24570 of 24574

banjo...come on you really dont think you have any credibility left do you?

you were calling this to 50p.........you are out by an order of magnitude of 10...lol pretty impressive and since you only bought this 5 years ago for a quick scalp as you put it at the time.

To find yourself in the position you are in now talks volumes of your trading ability...really you should give it up go and work for a web site company where your endless efforts and skills will actually make you a couple of quid...this game certainly aint for you

banjo no a savvy investor does not average down.....ya clown...that is what an amateur does like you good self

I am amazed that you actually still think you have any credibility left to make that kind of comment on investment strategy......everyone can see you are massively down on your two major investments.

stick to building blog's/web sites/flag pages/updating people if MDW change an apostrophe on their web site
