Bullshare - 14 Mar 2009 06:34

Well that caught your attention, and so it should!

As part of its Corporate Solutions business MoneyAM carries out development work for a number of large companies, our specialism being in the area of finance. We are pleased to tell you that we have this morning launched the JPMorgan Telegraph Fantasy Fund Manager game which we developed, licensed and power.

It carries a whopping 50,000 in prize money with 25,000 to the winner.

Give it a go at: JPMorgan Telegraph Fantasy Fund Manager

little woman - 16 Mar 2009 12:26 - 2 of 49

I've just set my account up and made a few selections..... Funds are not
something I really bother with, as I have never seen the point of paying someone
else to loose my money for me! So this will be an interesting learning experience!

There is still several weeks to go before it starts, but I went ahead now in
case I don't get it together between now and then.........

Does anyone want to take part in a MoneyAm mini league? Just let me have
the e-mail address you used to set up your account (use the MoneyAm
message facility) and I'll send you an invite.

little woman - 01 Apr 2009 14:34 - 3 of 49

Am I on my own for this?

KEAYDIAN - 01 Apr 2009 15:37 - 4 of 49

What is it?

little woman - 01 Apr 2009 16:47 - 5 of 49

Click on the link and find out?

The Other Kevin - 02 Apr 2009 08:26 - 6 of 49

You're not on your own LW but I haven't stuck a pin into the list of funds yet.

little woman - 02 Apr 2009 11:25 - 7 of 49

I had a look at the which stocks they invested in and made some of my selections on that basis.

I also looked on how they were doing against the market. Any doing much worse didn't get a look in. But I also looked at those that had fallen quite bit, long term (quite a few!) and tried to pick the ones I thought they were likely to recover if the market picked up.

It wasn't any easier than picking shares!

The Other Kevin - do you want to join the mini league I set up?

The Other Kevin - 02 Apr 2009 12:50 - 8 of 49

Yes please. At least it will prompt me to do a bit of research.

little woman - 02 Apr 2009 14:38 - 9 of 49

Just let me have the e-mail address you used to set up your account for this
competition (use the MoneyAm message facility) and I'll send you an invite from the MoneyAm mini League.

You will need the unique token number from my invite, which you then enter it in the "Join a mini league field" etc...

The Other Kevin - 02 Apr 2009 14:50 - 10 of 49

Done

little woman - 02 Apr 2009 16:04 - 11 of 49

Done! :-)

The Other Kevin - 02 Apr 2009 16:26 - 12 of 49

The worst I can do is to come second - so far!

JayH1980 - 03 Apr 2009 09:35 - 13 of 49

Mind if I join in? I shall send you my e.mail

little woman - 03 Apr 2009 11:29 - 14 of 49

No problem, invite sent. That'll be 3 of us :-)

The Other Kevin - 03 Apr 2009 12:03 - 15 of 49

Bugger. That means I'll come third.

Bullshare - 03 Apr 2009 14:23 - 16 of 49

You only have two days left to register to qualify for the 25,000 first prize

little woman - 03 Apr 2009 16:15 - 17 of 49

Looks like it may be between the 3 of us!!!!

Clubman3509 - 03 Apr 2009 16:34 - 18 of 49

I am in, love these competitions. I won 20,000 tax free last year with ETX Capital competition beat the Broker.

little woman - 06 Apr 2009 14:45 - 19 of 49

JayH1980 - did you receive the invite?

robertalexander - 07 Apr 2009 09:37 - 20 of 49

am in LW thanks.
could you do something about my position as i am currently last?
if i put a positive spin on it i am 3rd LOL
Alex

The Other Kevin - 07 Apr 2009 10:09 - 21 of 49

Well done Robert. I'm 5828th!

little woman - 07 Apr 2009 12:23 - 22 of 49

We need more members in the our mini league.

Using the MoneyAm message services, please send me your e-mail address and I will send an invite from the "mini league". Then you can enter the the "token" from the e-mail you receive and join us.

In the League of mini leagues we were 258 this morning, but then Robert joined us and now we are 630 out of 831! LOL

little woman - 15 Apr 2009 09:56 - 23 of 49

I decided to reduce the number of "funds" I was holding and was amazed how it worked
every holding is adjusted to the fixed percentage.

As a "mini" league we are improving - we are now 422 out of 905.

We seem to only have 3 of us in it - someone is missing....

robertalexander - 15 Apr 2009 10:02 - 24 of 49

getting better then!!

little woman - 21 Apr 2009 17:15 - 25 of 49

Have you looked lately?

Are there only 3 of us taking part?

Bullshare - 21 Apr 2009 18:47 - 26 of 49

I'll join you

robertalexander - 22 Apr 2009 08:14 - 27 of 49

hooray. the more who play reduce the odds of me coming last!!! LOL

Clubman3509 - 22 Apr 2009 08:58 - 28 of 49

7334 for me must be on for the booby prize

robertalexander - 22 Apr 2009 12:25 - 29 of 49

way off am down in the 9000's :(

The Other Kevin - 23 Apr 2009 12:53 - 30 of 49

I'll have to go away again. Doing nothing seems to have worked. I've leapt into the lead!

robertalexander - 23 Apr 2009 13:00 - 31 of 49

clubman3509,
are you in our minileague? i can only see 3 people LW, myself and Vesuvius[which i am guessing is the other kevin]

Clubman3509 - 23 Apr 2009 14:59 - 32 of 49

No going it alone. It is a shit competition, ETC Capital Beat the Broker was far better.

The Other Kevin - 23 Apr 2009 16:27 - 33 of 49

robert - A correct guess.

PCM - 23 Apr 2009 18:20 - 34 of 49

Come to Daddy, count me in.

little woman - 24 Apr 2009 17:05 - 35 of 49

There is now a facility for me to access the token so others can join the "mini league". I've used the message MoneyAm facility to send it to Bullshare, but no one else seems to have one and I'm loathe to post it here.......

If you want to join in, please set up the facility on your account. Its quite private - as it won't let you "reply" to sender! Of course you can always disable it later if you fell you need to.

We rank 343 currently out of 936 so we are moving in the right direction.

If you can find us on the list - I think you can apply to join us.

Bullshare - 27 Apr 2009 16:25 - 36 of 49

LW: I've joined your mini league

mike

robertalexander - 27 Apr 2009 16:34 - 37 of 49

Alex

Just been doing some stats for the Telegraph, over 98% of game players are in profit, most have a lot more profit than me though, not surprising really!!

little woman - 01 May 2009 10:59 - 39 of 49

Interesting month!

As a group we are moving up - now 204 out of 958

I wonder how many people are actually doing it?

Bullshare - 02 May 2009 07:18 - 40 of 49

I would say if you are ranked 12,000 or below you are doing badly!

Clubman3509 - 04 May 2009 09:45 - 41 of 49

Overall 5971 5971
Monthly 5880 5880
Quarterly 5971 5971

Moving up slowly

little woman - 05 May 2009 17:40 - 42 of 49

I've just taken a look at how I was doing - but I think this may be end of day?

little woman - 04 Aug 2009 18:24 - 45 of 49

I took a look today and was surprised to find we are all doing about the same overall!

As a group we are ranked 79 out of 1081!

I'm guessing overall - We all aren't doing that badly if I'm now 930 overall out over 12,000 (?), monthly I just moved up to 71 and quarterly I have just moved up to 43

How are the rest of you doing?

robertalexander - 04 Aug 2009 20:07 - 46 of 49

35th monthly, 108 quarterly,1540 overall, but still last of the 4 of us!!!
still some way to go but cant see me overhauling the the leaders 200%+

Alex

little woman - 29 Sep 2009 17:48 - 47 of 49

Its taken me a while to realise that the best time to make decisions on changes of investments should be at 11pm! So understandable, I often forget.

As a group we are now 64th.

little woman - 21 Jan 2010 15:29 - 48 of 49

We have been very quiet, with only a few months to go.

This is me:
Current Previous
Overall 31 34
Monthly 18 62
Quarterly 18 62

As a group we are now 21.

Having recently made it into the top 20 a couple of times I thought I'd
mention the following funds which I have been "Trading", so I am currently up 108%

Bonds:
Ballie Gifford High Yield Bond
Legal & General High Income

UK Equities
Liontrust Intellectual Capital

little woman - 08 Feb 2010 17:35 - 49 of 49
