I have started this thread for this largely unnoticed company, I-Design, due to its recent upward SP movement.
As this is very illiquid it does not take much in the way of market activity for movement up or down. It will be interesting to see if the recent upward surge is just a blip or the start of a recovery play here.
Preliminary results are due this coming week.
Worth a look IMHO, DYOR etc.

"atmAd owner (IDG.L) i-design Group PLC is mad at not shouting about deals like this from the rooftops – it took our spiders to pick up the story from their web site.
Bottom line, a new agreement, in response we are told “to growing and sustained overseas demand for its market-leading ATM advertising solution atmAd” sees them appoint self-service equipment and technology provider LD Systems as their reseller in the USA and Puerto Rico."

Good writeup in The Scotsman, snippet below.
Stewart said the "high point" of the year to September was the signing of a contract with RBS, the largest ATM operator in the UK.
Including agreements with Alliance & Leicester and Nationwide, i-design now has its software licensed to 12,000 machines, with 4,500 available for third-party advertising.
Those figures are up from 8,100 and 1,000, respectively, a year earlier.
"The number of sites that we now have third-party advertising live on is quite substantial," added Stewart. "But we won't see the full benefits of those until this financial year."

Aussie newspaper article from August suggests I-Designs expansion into Australia may be well advanced.
"ATM screens will soon be used for advertising space.
People withdrawing cash from ATMs will soon be bombarded with ads as banks look for new ways to replace lost fee revenue. A British company is seeking to expand into Australia on the back of what it says are successful ad campaigns using ATMs."

Thanks to oldtramp for his very informative Q&A posts on LSE BB....
Thought some questions and answers might help anyone new to the share, wont add any links but they are all in previous posts.
Q/ Its an Aim share what are the dangers?
A/ Have run a credit rating and it came back Low/Normal Risk very good for an Aim share. Currently 1.6mill cash and dept of 20k. Cash burn is very low now only 200k last year. Always a risk as any share but seems quite low
Q/ Share seems to move up/down very quick
A/ Only 14M available 83% are held by institutions and directors. wIth so few the stock moves quick. All the institutions have held for a long while and look to be happy to support the company.
Q/ Its just adverts on atms not very interesting
A/ The atms are also screens and one of the largest amount of outdoor screens that can be used to display targeted digital campaigns in the uk,reciepts are also issued to support the ads as vouchers. The atms have an 80% ad recall various studies to prove the fact. The campaigns can also be targeted as in gender and location,ie pizza hut use the machines near the stores, and Tesco for instore products
Q/ What else do IDG do?
A/ As well as software for the atms to display the ads they also sell the advertising space to 3rd party,s This is a growing trend with an 80% growth rate last year. IDG have just appointed two new key members of staff who are both well respected in Media sales and look to be trying to increase this side of the company.
Q/ What companies have used the atms?
A/ Atm customers http://www.i-designplc.com/Customers/
Advertising customers many blue chip companies details on the sites small selection here http://www.atm-ad.com/pizza-hut-happy-hour.html
Q/ Why buy now?
A/ IDG have been very patient in expanding waiting to be well established and trusted in the UK with the global recession easing companies will increase advertising budgets.Digital outdoor advertising is the quickest growing market .As UK and world leaders in this niche market now is the time for expansion. The current sp is now very low at its high it was 70p but the company is now in a far better position now than it was then
Q/ What expansion plans have they?
A/ They have appointed LD Systems in America as resellers, Trials have been underway in Australia where the whole concept is untried but a prime target,an office has been set up in Sydney trials seem to be going well ,as of yet Australia has not been mentioned but a simple search of google " atm advertising australia" turns up many pages, alot of research in previous posts. Canada and France have also been named as places they wish to expand aswell.
Q/ last year the company made a loss!!
A/ The financial Director has explained without the addition of staff and R&D for the global expansion the company would have been at Break even..Good in itself but global expansion is what will send the sp onto a far higher level!! So i find that a satisfactory answer..
All in all a very well run company about to expand in many ways and very good potential obviously all in my own opinion but happy to answer any questions GLA AGM on the 26th Jan !!

I-DESIGN GROUP (LON:IDG) cracking contract win for this innovative business
Posted 28/10/10
The developer and supplier of the market-leading ATM advertising solution, atmAd, has encouraged with a series of positive announcements over the past few weeks.
Hot on the heels of its encouraging trading update on 18th October when it confirmed second half revenues significantly higher than in the first half and full year revenues of approximately 2.2m the Group today announced an excellent new ATM Network contract win.
The group has secured a new multi-year contract with YourCash Limited, Europes largest independent provider of ATM solutions and established a presence in the Netherlands for i-design.
The contract initially covers the implementation of atmAd on approximately 500 free to use ATMs. The majority of these, around 300, are located in the UK with the remaining number, around 200, situated in the Netherlands, taking i-design into a new territory in Europe. YourCashs total ATM estate comprises approximately 6,000 ATMs in the UK and approximately 600 in the Netherlands, with the majority located in retail sites, including supermarkets and convenience stores.
i-design has also secured the exclusive rights to run third party advertising on these ATMs and following the roll-out of atmAd, will benefit from ongoing revenues generated by third party advertising sales.
Once the roll-out is complete, i-designs network of ATMs available for third party advertising will be approximately 9,900 in total.
Things are really starting to move forward for this innovative business!

"However, the real golden ticket to success lies in brands maximising both the scheduling and creative flexibility of atmAds DOOH network in order to convey a message that not only plays in the right location, at the right time, to the right audience, but also plays to the money mindset of the shopper withdrawing cash."

Good positive trading update today, all being well heading for a maiden profit this year imo.
"i-design, the developer and supplier of the leading marketing solution for ATMs and self-service machines, enabling ATM owners to run both their own internal marketing campaigns and third party advertising, is pleased to make the following update on trading for the first six months of the current financial year, to 30 September 2011.
The Group has enjoyed a strong first half. The positive trend in media revenues, previously highlighted, has continued. Media revenues are expected to show a marked increase on both the comparable period last year and on the second half of the last financial year. In October 2010, the Group signed a major new ATM owner, YourCash Limited ("YourCash"), the largest independent provider of ATM solutions in Europe. This has boosted software sales income over the comparable period last year. YourCash has added a further 500 ATMs to i-design's ATM and self-service estate, increasing the total licensed estate to c.17,000 and the third party advertising estate to c.9,900. The agreement has also given i-design a presence in the Netherlands. The Group's discussions with other potential new banking customers remain very encouraging.
The Board is pleased with the Group's trading performance in the first half of the financial year and views second half prospects very positively. Half year results are expected to be announced at the end of June. "

Sigma seem to be ready to sell some of its profitable portfolio in 2012, if this includes IDG, which I would expect, this should help increase liquidity going forward which imo would be very helpful indeed.
"Venture Capital Fund Management
Revenue from services for the first half was 1.3m (2010: 0.7m) although this included the compensation payment of 0.8m made by certain limited partners of the Sigma Sustainable Energy Fund II to Sigma. (This payment was part of the agreement whereby this fund has been capped at 12.4m and closed to new investment.) Excluding this compensation payment, revenue from the Venture Capital Fund Management Division as expected decreased to 0.6m (2010: 0.7m), reflecting the realisation phase that four of the six venture funds we manage are now in. The division traded profitably, generating a trading profit of 0.8m (2010: 12,000).
As the investment team manages the process of realising value from the investments held in the four historic funds, we expect the revenue generated by these funds to reduce but overall cash generated by the Venture Capital Fund Management Division to increase as Sigma's interests in the funds are realised. At 30 June 2011, Sigma's book value exposure to these four venture funds was 1.35m, spread across 19 investments and we would expect a number of realisations of investee companies to be achieved during 2012. The recent chart shows the SP has fallen below the support of the rising price channel and the support has now become resistance :(
I suppose the chart is pretty much irrelevant when applied to a micro cap stock like IDG, but I do find it intriguing the way the SP reacts to certain trend lines as shown above.
I have read elsewhere that IDG has a full page write-up in shares mag with a short term price target of 90p, Arbuthnot also have a 90p target and RHPS have a 125p target I believe.
