skinny - 19 Jan 2019 10:25 - 2 of 75

Good Morning.

The Papers

skinny - 20 Jan 2019 10:01 - 3 of 75

Good Morning.

How dare MPs say we didn’t know what we were doing!

Stan - 20 Jan 2019 11:30 - 4 of 75

Morning Skinny and all,

Having read that link, Hargreaves comes over as a bit of an illusionary Pratt what about you Skinny?

skinny - 21 Jan 2019 04:42 - 5 of 75

Good Morning.

The Papers

Stan - I don't think I'm a Pratt!

kimoldfield - 21 Jan 2019 07:26 - 6 of 75

Good morning!

CC - 21 Jan 2019 08:12 - 7 of 75

Good morning.

Looking forward to some more blue days but I think this rally in financials has probably run far enough until we see some decent figures out of the reporting cycle.

Or Theresa May needs to say something helpful on Brexit. That's doesn't seem very likely.

Stan - 21 Jan 2019 09:30 - 8 of 75

Morning all,

Ha ha Skinny, he does seem in a bit of a dreamworld though I thought.

CC - 21 Jan 2019 12:37 - 9 of 75

We wanted to get in touch to thank you for being a customer of MoneyAM. And more importantly, to let you know that from 21 February 2019, this service will move to Shares.

But don’t worry, you won’t be left out of the financial loop. By registering with Shares – the UK’s leading online resource for private investors – you can benefit from many of the same MoneyAM features. With some extras on top.

Oh well.

Fred1new - 21 Jan 2019 13:24 - 10 of 75

Back to normal 10/28 blue.

There are whisperers about.
8-(

CC - 21 Jan 2019 13:55 - 11 of 75

All eyes on Theresa may at 15:30. Pound is strengthening before speech

JasonUK - 21 Jan 2019 14:09 - 12 of 75

MoneyAM's switch to Shares is a shame. Shares' watch list isn't as good as MoneyAM's (which was free) so can't see benefit of switching. Free Level 1 was fine for infrequent trades if you had live prices but if you have to pay you might as well go for Level 2 and there are better services for that elsewhere.

skinny - 22 Jan 2019 05:53 - 13 of 75

CC - 22 Jan 2019 08:18 - 17 of 75

Good morning. Not much blue yet today. Fingers crossed

Stan - 22 Jan 2019 08:23 - 18 of 75

I'm hoping that someone with the required expertise on here reading this has the technical know how to set and run just a shares bulletin board website.

Anyone willing and able out there?

CC - 22 Jan 2019 15:34 - 19 of 75

Link

Regrettably I can't follow the link Skinny as I'm not subscribed to the Traders room

CC - 22 Jan 2019 15:55 - 20 of 75

Cable starting to rock and roll

skinny - 22 Jan 2019 16:52 - 21 of 75

CC - I've asked if the thread can be made accessible on the Investors room.

Fred1new - 22 Jan 2019 16:54 - 22 of 75

3/28 B.

Could be worse.

What is this market up to?

It must know I am in a hurry.

8-)

Claret Dragon - 23 Jan 2019 05:48 - 23 of 75

Morning.

kimoldfield - 23 Jan 2019 07:20 - 25 of 75

Good morning!

CC - 23 Jan 2019 07:59 - 26 of 75

Good morning

skinny - 23 Jan 2019 08:01 - 27 of 75

CC - are you still going to the MARS AGM?

CC - 23 Jan 2019 09:07 - 28 of 75

yes. About to clear the snow off my car and then leaving in about 15-20 minutes.

I'm not impressed with the LFL sales figures, although the debt reduction plan is pleasing.

I will be trying to ascertain why the LFL sales figures appear to be lagging their competitors by a considerable amount

skinny - 23 Jan 2019 09:15 - 29 of 75

Interesting post 3078 about the dividend statement over the road.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 09:23 - 30 of 75

Morning all.

Well CC if you have time would you mind asking someone how you obtain a discount proof as a shareholder when one owns their shares but not certificated like most of us do please.

They have excepted a verbal explanation before at a pub we went too but just in case they didn't at some pubs thanks

skinny - 23 Jan 2019 09:26 - 31 of 75

Stan - just write/call the registrars.

Who are Marston's PLC's registrars?
Our registrars contact details are:

Equiniti
Aspect House
Spencer Road
Lancing
West Sussex

Tel: 0371 384 2274
Web: equiniti.com

CC - 23 Jan 2019 09:30 - 32 of 75

not sure if this answers your question Skinny but HL got in contact with Marstons and sent me a plastic priviledge card

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 09:31 - 33 of 75

I phoned the Company a couple of years ago and asked to speak to someone in the know and was told something like they only except the certificates, but at the pub they just excepted a verbal assurance from me on the day.

It's just that another pub might not.

PS. On that occasion I left it till the day we went to the pub so no time to write. Thanks for the info though.

skinny - 23 Jan 2019 09:32 - 34 of 75

I don't have the physical shares but I've phoned them and got the card at least twice.

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 09:35 - 35 of 75

Yes I will do that next time and be more forward thinking, I don't hold at the moment so not relevant but worth knowing for the future thanks.

skinny - 23 Jan 2019 12:43 - 36 of 75

Stan - 24 Jan 2019 08:59 - 47 of 75

kimoldfield - 25 Jan 2019 06:56 - 59 of 75

CC - 25 Jan 2019 08:22 - 63 of 75

Cable at 1.31. Significant volume coming in on the banks...

Stan - 25 Jan 2019 09:08 - 64 of 75

Skinny, Kim, and CC, and others.

As regulars where do you intend posting when MAM finishes?

CC - 25 Jan 2019 09:14 - 65 of 75

Some decent money seems to be rotating into equities at last

CC - 25 Jan 2019 09:30 - 66 of 75

Stan,

I am happy to be advised by others but I think the options are:
1. ADVFN
2. LSE
3. Lemon Fool

I already take my L2 from ADVFN and use their monitor/stockwatch features so concerns around price feeds do not affect me.

The thing I like most about MAM is the BB with the ability to scope the header with some basic html to include charts and links to broker forecasts, financial calendars etc. Out of the 3 only ADVFN offers this so unless someone comes up with a better solution I'll be on ADVFN.

I'm be delighted though is someone found a home that works other than ADVFN. I do not like the level of ramping, deramping, spamming, users having multiple logins to ramp, attention seekers and worse racial abuse on ADVFN. The latter I find completely unacceptable but the management do little or nothing about it.

CC - 25 Jan 2019 14:56 - 68 of 75

Cable off and running again

kimoldfield - 25 Jan 2019 16:26 - 69 of 75

I occasionally post on ADVN and once or twice on LSE; I will probably use my broker ii for level 2 but not decided yet!

Fred1new - 25 Jan 2019 16:46 - 70 of 75

16/28 Blue.

But why did I buy VOD.

ARRRRRRRG.

Stan - 25 Jan 2019 17:07 - 71 of 75

Thanks CC and Kim,

What about you Skinny.

skinny - 26 Jan 2019 13:31 - 72 of 75

Stan - I've used and posed on ADVFN since 1999/2000 (here since 2003?) and will continue to do so.

I'll miss it here as its fairly quiet/sensible compared to the melee that AFN can be and I'll definitely miss the amount of info/reference data that has been accumulated on some of the threads.

But life moves on and I can't be arsed to reinvent the wheel, so I've no intention at present to go any where else.

Its ironic that this thread has the most posts its had for ages!!

Fred1new - 26 Jan 2019 14:33 - 73 of 75

Do you mean we need a Brexit every week?

kimoldfield - 28 Jan 2019 07:08 - 74 of 75

Good morning!

Stan - 28 Jan 2019 07:34 - 75 of 75

Thanks Skinny, I will add my two penny worth when I've thought some more.
