BUGS - Report them here (BUGS)

zzaxx99 - 24 Jan 2003 09:02

The "number unread" column doesn't work. When you come back to the site (and log-in again) the number unread is being reset to the number of messages in the thread.

Also, though I can't put my finger on what the exact circumstances are, I'm havoing to log-in over and over again, which is really getting on my wick.

Homer - 24 Jan 2003 09:04 - 2 of 170

i cant add any stocks to my list. It tells me to do it again. sort it out!!!!

serko1 - 24 Jan 2003 09:04 - 3 of 170

I'm having trouble with the stockwatch.

I put in the epics I want and press continue and it takes me back to the smae page with all the fields cleared.

Homer - 24 Jan 2003 09:08 - 4 of 170

yes same problem here. taking the piss

Pugugly - 24 Jan 2003 10:24 - 5 of 170

Still cannot get streaming on my stockwatch thread (name new). Pointless adding more stocks to warch until sorted out. Works ok on non straming but java applet used by AM seems to not be compatable with Win98.

Any techies able to help - Otherwise will have to continue with th otherplace.

Anyway their charts are easier to read !!!!!!!! - imo.

Juzzle - 24 Jan 2003 11:02 - 6 of 170

I've given up on stockwatch altogether for now and relying on advfn instead for that. Will try again next week. (w95)

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 11:09 - 7 of 170

Worked yesterday, but not working at all today for me (watchlist is completely blank, can't add anything to it).

Oh dear. It's just like ADVFN in the old days.

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 11:14 - 8 of 170

OK, false alarm, working again now.

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 11:31 - 9 of 170

Off again. Can't waste any more time on this. It's back to ADVFN now.

Homer - 24 Jan 2003 11:39 - 10 of 170

lol same here BYE BYE

MightyMicro - 24 Jan 2003 11:49 - 11 of 170

Pugugly, Diogenes et al:

The AM streaming applet works fine on W98. That's what I'm using right now (with IE5.00). I've got two watchlists running and I've added and removed EPICs.

I'm aware that there are some site problems right now and I expect we'll get an update from the AM operations people in due course.

I suspect that's behind the problems you're all seeing, trust me, this software has been tested. Having said that, there *will* be problems we haven't encountered before, and there will be client environment issues (versions of operating system, and, in particular, browser and Java VM versions) which may surprise us from time-to-time.

So please try again, don't be put off.

little woman - 24 Jan 2003 11:53 - 12 of 170

One minute it tells me I'm logged on, the next it tells me I'm not!!!

Currently can't access the portfolio as I'm logged on when initially go to it, then logged off when I want more detail.

Also keep having to refresh! Which inturn seems to log me out. Then I go to quotes and then I seem to be logged in again!

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 24 Jan 2003 11:58 - 13 of 170

Thanks, I checked the settings and found them changed from the settings I did when I first got this PC! XP is really a pain, as it is constantly resetting my original settings!!!!!

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 12:12 - 16 of 170

Last message I got was that all the stocks on my watchlist were inappropriate to my subscription level and it wiped them all out.

Just tried again: watchlist blank, but it seems to allow me to add new stocks now, so I could start again. However, I can't spend all day entering and re-entering my watchlist.

I don't have a subscription: only heard of this site a few days ago, and I'm trying the free service before I even think of cancelling ADVFN and paying here.

I think you need to make it very clear on the home page exactly what is being offered in the free service and in the different subscription levels. It really is not at all clear to me. What does limited* mean, for example? There's an asterisk, but no footnote. I took it to mean 'contended', as on ADVFN (you can get bumped off if too many people are on at once). But perhaps it means the watchlist can only contain a limited number of stocks, or stocks from some limited list. Whatever it means, I think we should be told, because not many people are going to waste time setting up watchlists or portfolios repeatedly only to see them wiped out without warning.

little woman - 24 Jan 2003 12:16 - 17 of 170

I had no problems setting up a portfolio - but I did start with a cash balance when when I created it. I don't know if that made a difference.

zzaxx99 - 24 Jan 2003 12:27 - 18 of 170

Watchlist froze with no updates - started again with Crtl-F5.

Environment is NT4 SP6a, IE 6 SP1, behind corporate firewall

lurker - 24 Jan 2003 12:32 - 19 of 170

Diogenes - the losing of watchlist data should not happen. As Mighty Micro's post says, AM had some operational problems earlier which are now fixed. It is likely that this was behind your problems. No other similar experiences had been reported during AM's extensive beta testing. ie it should all be OK now.

Hmm, must either stop posting or change my username!

Bullshare - 24 Jan 2003 12:36 - 20 of 170

Diogenes : The 0limited description is there but under the fold so might have been missed.

*limited format is a contended system. Operating on a 'first in first off' basis. To enable us to provide a free live price service we will set a limit to the number of users who can log on at any one time. Once the limit has been reached the first person logged on will be the first to be logged off by our servers.

FelixMoneyAM - 24 Jan 2003 12:37 - 21 of 170

About the portfolio system (which I wrote...) It doesn't currently use the
cash position in any of the tabled calculations - we're planning to add
'cashflow' pages later which make more extensive use of it.
This is all explained in the Portfolio section in the FAQ, but do
email support if this doesn't make it clear,
Best wishes
Felix (MoneyAM)

Diogenes - 24 Jan 2003 12:52 - 23 of 170

Lurker: well, my watchlist is blank, apart from two stocks that I have reentered, and if no one knows why it went blank it's going to happen again. So good luck to you all, but I'm not going to waste any more time reentering it or my portfolio.

Bullshare: thanks, I missed the footnote. Limited clearly does mean exactly what I thought it meant, so that is not the reason my watchlist went blank. I'll just have to give you a bit more time to sort out the bugs. :-\

dont know if this is by design or not but when dsoing a BB search the saystem only returns hits for the room that you are currently in and not the one next door.

kajman - 27 Jan 2003 10:45 - 27 of 170

At the top of the thread list in the Investors room is a button to "MAC/PC Clinic".

However it just asks me to log in again. My guess is that it is pointing to the thread in the Traders Room, which isn't accessable on the free service.

(That maybe by design but it is not explained)

kajman - 27 Jan 2003 10:51 - 28 of 170

This maybe a browser problem here - but when I switch from a streaming page (eg Stockwatch) to another page (eg Bulletin Board) I get a big white box where the streaming used to be. This box is always there - I have to close the browser down, and fire it up again.

I'm using IE5.5
Any ideas?

alecm - 27 Jan 2003 16:47 - 29 of 170

Hi there, when i try to go into some threads, i get sent to the registration thread, this thread does it to me....

http://www.moneyam.com/TradersRoom/ShowPostList?fID=1&tID=598

Am i doing something wrong..?? or do i need to register for a different subscription to get there..???

Rgds Alec....

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Jan 2003 17:17 - 30 of 170

alecm,

If you are a free user, you can only view and post in the Investors' Room. You need to become a paid subscriber to view posts in the Traders' Room.

Hope this helps,

Gadget - 27 Jan 2003 17:25 - 31 of 170

tullettj - In the FAQ it describes the different options (or should do).
"Q: Why do you have so many different levels of subscription on offer?
A: This is to enable our subscribers to choose the level that is most applicable to their needs. The different levels of subscription are as follows"

Could you finish off the description of the 3 options?
Thanks

I will have to pass this onto our customer services people, ill forward them your query now!

Ok, thanks...

Where can i find a list of what the different subscriptions consist of..??

IanT(MoneyAM) - 28 Jan 2003 07:52 - 34 of 170

alecm,

If you click on the our services banner (flashing blue and orange on the homepage), this will bring you up a breakdown on the different levels of subscription.

Hope this helps Ian

Kayak - 28 Jan 2003 07:55 - 35 of 170

Ian, the fact that the question keeps being asked means the information needs to be much more easily available. Most people never read the home page. I tried looking for the information one evening and couldn't find it for the life of me until someone else posted a URL. Suggest you put it also in the more obvious places, e.g. under the register tab (which by the way gives me page not found from here) and under Upgrade Subscription Level from My Account.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 28 Jan 2003 08:05 - 36 of 170

Thanks for finding the broken links, fixed!

colsec - 28 Jan 2003 14:37 - 43 of 170

Unable to place in my portfolio

IsharesFTSE100.

Any reason for this?

Thanks

Felix(MoneyAM) - 28 Jan 2003 17:06 - 44 of 170

The '2p' bug is now fixed.
Anything you buy and sell in a transaction should be the EPIC code of a stock,
which "IsharesFTSE100" isn't. You can use 'UKX' to get the effect of buying the
FTSE index, but this is meaningless without an appropriate scaling factor, and
the system won't display a company name (because there isn't one).
Felix

zzaxx99 - 28 Jan 2003 20:52 - 45 of 170

Right, cracked my first problem (thanks for all the response and suggestions!) - it's happens (I think) when you click on the Investor's room, but you haven't yet logged in

Kayak - 28 Jan 2003 21:12 - 46 of 170

Presumably colsec was trying to add EPIC ISF rather than typing "IsharesFTSE100" into the box. I find I can add it, but strangely the name of the stock is not known. It should be "IsharesFTSE100", of course. Ishares are a special type of investment fund which track the indices they represent.

I have just had a job to get streaming prices at all although they were working earlier.

I also find that sometimes the prices freeze and leave you with a page that is not updating although you might not realise it at first.

The streaming trade information is working, but the non-streaming trade detail just come up with the message "No trades found".

The AppleMac I sometimes have to use is not compatible with streaming, so I hope that the other options will be restored.

Teci - 30 Jan 2003 16:12 - 61 of 170

I find that after a while the streaming page stops streaming (and freezes) and after a while you realise that no prices are changing. This could be misleading if you were going to do a deal on the prices shown. I find that if I bring up another window of streaming prices you can then see that the previous window has indeed frozen out and stopped streaming.

Hi AM,

Noticed that if you mouseover the 'Squelch' (filter) icon at the top of the BB's, you get an underline link on a blank space to the right of the image.

Checking your HTML'd source, the issue looks like a 'non-blank space' (ampersand nbsp semicolon) in the a href tag after the image. Just do a search for filter.gif in the source, and go right a bit to see it.

PH8

covenant - 03 Feb 2003 10:04 - 67 of 170

The Trades reports:

The Sort By Time (latest first) option - the report bears no relation to the live streaming reports, with only a fraction of the trades listed (eg SPT) and in the case of DNK currently only one trade listed versus 9 on the live streaming.

(edited to add)

The problem appears to be that the Sort by Time option doesn't list trades for any company prior to approx 9.45 this morning.

Socrates - 06 Feb 2003 19:18 - 68 of 170

In the Investors Room when you use the search facility and enter an EPIC it does not find anything if you use lower case. It's OK if you use upper case. The field needs to be formatted to force upper case and then everything will be hunkydory.

OSBORNE - 21 Feb 2003 08:45 - 77 of 170

Hi - Has anyone reported bugs with the "Trades" screen info - specifically that the buy/sell flags are often wrong? I use the GNItouch system, and when I'm watching the action on the level II bid/offer I can see bids taken out that are clearly sells but they are often (though not always) flagged as buys, and vice vera. Without better consistency, the TOS info is just unuseable because I have no faith in what the action really is.

brennanr - 20 Mar 2003 10:59 - 78 of 170

Yesterday I noticed that on two stocks (BLM was one) the first couple of trades had the bid and offer prices reversed (e.g offer=23, bid =25). It doesn't show now, but it did yesterday. The effect of this was that at first the mid-price was listed as having fallen, when in fact it had risen.

Although not a bug (I don't know where best to post this message) I would like to mention that it would be useful to have an 'announcement' flag on the monitor. Currently if an RNS comes through there is no way of knowing when looking on the monitor.

Buggette in stockwatch. When adding a number of stocks, one of which is not recognised, even the recognised ones are not added and the message claims they are all invalid.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 11:18 - 90 of 170

brennanr,

By monitor, do you mean stockwatch?

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 11:23 - 91 of 170

Thanks Kayak,

I will try and replicate the problem here.

Ian

brennanr - 26 Mar 2003 11:25 - 92 of 170

IanT(MoneyAM)
Yes, sorry I mean stockwatch and not Monitor. I was thinking of another website.
I have also just noticed from the other website that there was an RNS for BBG this morning at 8.50am, but there is no mention of this here on moneyam.com. I am a little concerned about this because RNS announcementts are quite important.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 11:27 - 93 of 170

Kayak,

when I attempted this with the FTSE 100 and some made up stocks I got the following error message:

The following stocks were not recognised, or are not available live on your current subscription level: JDUY,JKT,LDF

Did you get this message? If so this is what you are meant to see - i.e. it tells you to remove the offending articles - once this is done it should allow you to continue and make take you to the watchlist.

Ian

brennanr - 26 Mar 2003 11:27 - 94 of 170

I would just like to add I find the support on moneyam.com very good - not like some other web sites I won't care to mention.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 11:33 - 95 of 170

Thank you!

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 11:48 - 96 of 170

brennanr,

Looking into the BBG news article as we speak - I have contacted our data providers to find out if there is a problem.

Will post here as soon as I have resolved it.

Ian

Kayak - 26 Mar 2003 11:52 - 97 of 170

Ian, if I try to add "DDD VOD" it says both cannot be added, whereas it should be able to add VOD.

On the news, the news site you use filters out Rule 8 and certain obscure RNSs, which is OK as a default but there should be an option to have them all. The "A" flag should be based on the whole lot, not on the default subset.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 13:21 - 98 of 170

Kayak,

Sorry for the delay.

seems like a silly question, but are you putting a comma or tabbing down between EPICS?

This may be what is causing the problem, as if you type the epics as you have in your post it will give you an error message, but will think that they are just one stock with a space in the middle.

I hope this makes sense - let me know.

Ian

Kayak - 26 Mar 2003 13:28 - 99 of 170

Oh OK, you might be right, sorry :-)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 26 Mar 2003 13:51 - 100 of 170

No problem Kayak,

Thats what I am here for - plus it took me long enough to work it out - never was any good at puzzles!

Ian

brennanr - 28 Mar 2003 10:50 - 101 of 170

When looking for BBG trades for yesterday (27/3/03) produces:

(a) Today's trades instead of yesterday's when 'Sort By' is set to 'Live Streaming'.
(b) 'No trades found' when sorted by latest first.

In other words I can't get yesterday's trades for BBG.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 28 Mar 2003 12:03 - 102 of 170

brennanr,

If you select 'live streaming' then you will not get historical data.

'live stream' implies today, and thus overrides and date selection.

J.

brennanr - 31 Mar 2003 10:29 - 103 of 170

As I said in my message < < (b) 'No trades found' when sorted by 'latest first'. >> - this is not 'live streaming'. This should have worked but didn't. However, now it is. I have noticed this a few times with a few stocks - sorting by 'latest first' for the previous day's trades comes up blank. I will let you know when it happens again.

brennanr - 31 Mar 2003 11:20 - 104 of 170

I am having trouble using 'News' searching facility. Unable to find and RNS announcements say for 1 Jan 2002 to 1 Dec 2002. This is with a number of stocks.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 31 Mar 2003 11:28 - 105 of 170

brennanr,

We only have the RNS announcements released since our services went into place, and there are no backdated RNS.

A quick check shows the first to be in the database from December 2002.

ISF Update, Hi, I asked this question about 6 weeks back and never got any reply !! So I'll try again. Re ISF,Ftse tracker ETF etc.If I try to add it to my Stockwatch it says NO,either it can't get it OR my (free) sub won't allow it.

I've just looked at the ISF trades for today,so your software at least "understands" ISF.........SO,can't I get it on my Stockwatch thingy, because I'm only a "freebie" or what,Answer please, its driving me Nuts !!Thanks.

brennanr - 07 Apr 2003 16:37 - 107 of 170

I find that sometimes after looking at Trades if I then do 'Back' in Internet Explorer the message 'Page Expired' appears, instead of the previous web page. This can occur even after spending only a few moments looking at the Trades page, so I don't see how the page can really be expired after such a short time.

MightyMicro - 08 Apr 2003 01:37 - 108 of 170

phobos: I think it's because your free sub doesn't allow it (there's an exchange fee)

MM

Kayak - 08 Apr 2003 07:25 - 109 of 170

MM, I doubt it. I think it's because they have been confused with indices. They appear, inexplicably, in a link from the Indices page.

MightyMicro - 08 Apr 2003 12:06 - 110 of 170

Kayak: I do believe you're right. MM

phobos - 09 Apr 2003 11:50 - 111 of 170

Thanks MM & Kayak, yeah I assumed something was wrong 'cause I could get ISF via the trades page, which I presume is nearly as "live" as the stockwatch page. Put it down as a "BUG" then, which is where we came in !!!!!!!

phobos - 11 Apr 2003 16:22 - 112 of 170

ISF, "BUGS" update. IT WORKS, YIPPEEEE and its up 2p too !!!!!!!!!!!

Why has the system got so slow? It is now almost totally unusable. I get the same blank screen with stockwatch as I used to get the Monitor on ADVFN. Unless this changes soon I shall consider cancelling my subscription. I don't know whether the problem lies with all the extra bandwidth involved in downloading adverts - which as far as I am concerned is just junk - or whether the problem is with streaming. I don't know and I don't care. Either the problem gets sorted or I'm out of here.

Kayak - 15 Apr 2003 12:21 - 115 of 170

Thanks for the comments - have you experienced this problem before today or is it something that has just started today?

Have you made any changes to your PC recently?

I have alerted the tech team at this end who will investigate the matter, but please either post here or E mail me (support@moneyAM.com) with the answers to the above, and any further information you think might be relevant.

Thanks

PP,

I will take a look into this,

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Dec 2005 10:04 - 146 of 170

PP,

Think the following is what has caused this - will contact our suppliers so that they can look into it:

New Millennium Resources Ltd

Issue Of Equity

5 million placement

New Millennium Resources Limited (AIM: NML), the AIM-listed diamond exploration
company with licenses in Angola and Greenland, today announces that it has an
agreement to raise 5 million by the issue one billion new ordinary shares at an
issue price of 0.5 pence. It is expected that these shares will be admitted to
trading on AIM on 12 December 2005.

The funds will be used to assist in the acquisition and exploration of a
kimberlite diamond concession in Angola.

About Angola

Angola is recognised as one of the major diamond fields of the world. Following
new diamond mining and investment legislation in the country, it is now the
focus of intense external interest.

About New Millennium's Existing Licenses in Angola

Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Angola Resources Pty Ltd, New Millennium
Resources is in a joint venture with Endiama (51%), the Angolan Government owned
diamond monopoly and Mombo Lda (15%), to explore and extract alluvial diamonds
at Lapi in Lunda Norde province. Its C9 concession covers some 323 square
kilometres and is also believed to contain four kimberlite pipes.
Shane Healy, managing director of New Millennium Resources Limited, commented:
'It is clear that alluvial diamond licences on their own have little appeal to
the investing market. Company has been hampered in its quest for a kimberlite
licence by its inability to prove up financial capability. This placement
addresses that problem. We are in discussions with a range of parties with
regards to the acquisition of an interest in a kimberlite licence not the least
of which is Endiama on our C9 concession at Rio Lapi.'

Madison - 15 Dec 2005 21:19 - 151 of 170

Ian,

There's something strange going on! Three prices on one of my stockwatch pages are altering every time I reopen the page (bear in mind it's 21:10 and the market's well closed).

Tesco 326.5 or 326.0
WTV .97 or .88
YOO 6.5 or 7.0

All others remain stable, but those three alternate between the two figures given. I'm not particularly fussed (too busy with a Christmas Tree for that to matter right now), just thought I'd let you know...

Cheers, Madison

The best suggestion I have had is that, UB34, which is a FTSE 350 index had slowly reduced , in terms of it's constituents, until it consisted of only one Company, Headlam.

When HEAD dropped out of the 350 UB34 effectively ceased to exist.

I'll accept that until a more definitive answer appears!
