over the past few months i hve recived number of calls from hoodless brennan 'encouraging' me to buy some at discount price. i am always suspicious on such tactics by brokers, so i hve not brought any.
i would like to know about the company etc .. other than the basuc rns stuff not much is availiable.. can someone convince me as to why it is worth buying into ??
good luck to all who hold these.. i sincerely hope they come good.

I too, bought some from HBP a couple of months ago. However, I think on this ocassion,it'll come good over the 3-6 months timescale. (Good recovery play)
Financial sector seeing a slow recovery. Overheads & operation costs are coming down fast. Return to profitability in next 3/6 months. May see some aquisitions etc.. so, I reckon stick with for a while.
Good luck all.

"Positive cash flow should commence in the first half of 2004 and that liquidity reserves will hold until that hoped-for creeping tide will start to moisten the parched balance sheet - and give sustenance to the share price"

Investtech Update:
Neutral (Medium term) - Dec 5, 2003
Has fallen 98% since the peak on 29 May 2002 at 124. Shows a weak development within a falling trend channel. A further negative development is indicated, and there is resistance against the ceiling of the trend channel. It also gave a negative signal from a rectangle formation at the break down through the support at 2.50. Further fall to 1.93 or lower is signaled. The stock has broken down through the support at p 3.00. This predicts a further decline. In case of positive reactions, there will now be resistance at p 3.00. The poor liquidity of the stock (traded 100% of the days, mean 6.94 mill per day) may weaken the analysis.

Thanks Sue, under chart analysis it currently looks negative towards IAL but as we all know there are always two sided to every coin. Although I do not dismiss chart analysis in my observations and research of a company I tend not to read too much into it, I prefer much more to read statements and literature about a company rather than analysing mathmatical trends. I do agree that IAL is in a hole at the moment and does require some good news to get the momentum to see it out which I don`t think will happen until way into next year, if and when the group become cash flow positive.......

Very true dandu, but I would expect the price to be at these levels for another 2 or 3 months. A comparison of IQE which was at 2.25-2.75 pence for about 6 months last year before the good trading update came from them in August.
I do have this stock on my monitor but it will some time yet before I do become a holder. Once the company does become cash flow positive and come out with good trading updates then the upside I believe from these levels will be huge.
All the best.
Sue.

Thanks Sue, I do agree 100% with what you have said, with all penny shares the risk is high but the potential capital gain can be considerable, i have these in my portfolio and are just sitting patiently for them to upturn, i think it`s either sink or swim for these guys. They have a good manager, have streamlined the business and are looking more hopeful, natrually i`m keeping a close eye and may even add should the price fall again.

Down again to 2-2.5p. I can`t find any reason why this would be so, sells are outweighing buys so there`s gonna be lots of supply of these which would help push the price down. I just hope it comes good in 2004.

Hi LLewellyn, Your comments about RBOS & Norwich U. interest may be about the rumours going around that maybe, just maybe, there was going to be something announced before the end of the year that would greatly improve the current share price instantly.
I too, bought in at 3p a couple of months ago on the strength af a "Buy" rec, in Shares Mag during late summer and also my broker advice.
It's gotta come good some time, lets hope it's very soon !
Good luck all.... :)

Hi Bosley,
Unfortunately, I cannot be specific about the rumours,if they are true or when it will happen. I was informed about the rumours from my broker a couple of weeks ago. He said they could go up to about 10p before Xmas ?. He may have just been saying that to cheer me up after a couple other shares went a bit pear shaped ! However, Inter A. are a good recovery play. should be break even by end Q1 2004 and big profits after that. Mainly due to cost cutting but also improving financial sector. Also, there was talk of aquisitions being made as well (this/nextqtr). On the other hand, they may be subject of bids from larger co..
I reckon a good punt at the current 2.25-2.75 levels, (the downside is virtually zero) good time to get in but it is speculative. It's your decision. good luck.

I would think that this transaction would have something to do with a share options agreement and that the shares were arranged to be purchased at a later date with a pre-arranged fixed price, most probably by a director or manager of some description......

buys far outweighed the sells on friday 2nd Jan, maybe someone is expecting good news or soemthing, they did say they were due to be cash flow positive in the first half of 2004, are they about to release a trading statement??? As i have a big punt in this firm i`m watching it like a hawk, the number of buys on friday will certainly help make the stock more attractive and go some way towards raising the price.

Neutral (Long term) - Jan 5, 2004
Has fallen 100% since the peak on 16 Aug 2000 at 525. Shows a weak development within a falling trend channel. A further negative development is indicated, and there is resistance against the ceiling of the trend channel. The stock has broken down through the support at p 3.00. This predicts a further decline. The poor liquidity of the stock (traded 100% of the days, mean 5.93 mill per day) may weaken the analysis.

Neutral (Short term) - Jan 5, 2004
Has fallen 35% since the peak on 11 Sep 2003 at 3.25. Is within a falling trend and continued decline within the current trend is indicated. On reactions back, there is resistance against the ceiling of the trend channel. Is moving within a rectangle formation between support at 1.99 and resistance at 2.25. A decisive break through one of these levels indicates the new direction for the stock. The poor liquidity of the stock (traded 100% of the days, mean 5.93 mill per day) may weaken the analysis.

DJ Inter-Alliance Grp Homes In On Acquisition - Sources
18 December 2003 12:28:14
LONDON (Dow Jones)--One of the U.K.'s largest independent financial advisors, Inter-Alliance Group PLC (IAL.L), is in talks to acquire one of its U.K. peers for around GBP20 million, people familiar with the situation said Thursday.
Although an announcement isn't expected imminently, key details of the acquisition could be fleshed out as early as Friday, one of these people said.
The purchase would add significant scale to Inter-Alliance's business, itself only worth just over GBP20 million by market capitalization.
The sources declined to disclose the name of Inter-Alliance's target, noting only the large number of IFAs operating in the U.K. and the fragmented nature of an industry ripe for consolidation.
At 1220 GMT, Inter-Alliance shares were flat at 2.25 pence.

I also bought into this company after reading two positive articles in the shares mag. Aswell as Royal bank of Scotland and Norich Union Henderson global investment own a large % of the shares (have proven track record with investments). I bought in at 2.75p and have since lost nearly 30-40% of my investment. I stronlgy believe and hope that the comapny will tunnel it's way out of this proverbial f**king hole! Good luck everyone...............

I bought in @ 3p 4 months ago on the back of shares mag. it should be a good recovery play. I wish got some more earlier today @2p.
I'm not entirely sure how it all works but... I reckon the price has been driven low to ensure that there is anough institutional interest/support to underwright the funding for the aquisition. Normally when an aquisition is announced a share placing is also announced to fund the move. If this happens the share price stays the same or goes down !. Lets hope it's different (skyhigh ?) this time round. ! and lets hope it's soon..... good luck all :)
