scipher sales (SIP)

Peadar - 21 Oct 2003 22:22

tipped recently, no movement, i am none the wiser

pthwaite - 22 Oct 2003 23:27 - 2 of 110

Really? Where was it tipped? What positive news was mentioned?

I'm a tad disappointed in Scipher at the moment - bought in at 0.1297!

Peadar - 29 Oct 2003 19:54 - 3 of 110

guardian has it as one of its blue horseshoe tips for months, says scipher is due to make some disposals worth 30mil and will declare it sometime in november, they expect the shares to move up then.

sharehappy - 30 Oct 2003 20:08 - 4 of 110

Taken from The Guardian
Saturday October 11, 2003 by Neil Hume

In the smaller companies sector, Scipher firmed 0.5p to 12p on above average turnover amid speculation that a high profile entrepreneur had taken a 2% stake in the AIM-listed intellectual property licenser. Dealers said the rumours appeared to be based on the fact that 5m shares - around 2% of the company - had changed hands in a single transaction yesterday. Scipher is scheduled to report interim figures next month, and close followers of the company expect it to announce the sale of two non-core divisions.

llewellyn - 23 Nov 2003 17:40 - 5 of 110

this should make everyone feel better i brought at ?7.15 three years ago ,so i still think that this company will delivier soon???????????????????

This co has been (and remains true to form) to be a serial disapointment.
Bosses are too involved IMHO with the technologies and gaining Kudos with IP - whereas what real people want are products that work and improve their life, reduce cost, etc.
Unfortunately many IP businesses get carried away with large numbers when the reality is that few people could care a damn about every one of their technologies.
A technology / IP has zero-value until it has proven itself in the market. Only when someone tries to copy you will the Patent have any use - and you need to be willing to pump in lots of cash to defend your position, with little g'tee you will win.
I think Patents are only suitable for large businesses and they do show-your-hand...... They give competitors ideas and if they can improve on your research then all your effort is for nowt. A proportion of any IP must be within a small circle of joint-owners/executives who are already well-rewarded...in that way some aspects of the technology are never made Public and a copy-cat product is much less likely.
All IP shares should come with a wealth warning.
I am a holder of Scipher and so wish them well, but the writing is on the wall: do something with ONE technology - that doesn't include a fire-sale as witnesses recently....any deals must include Royalty....and a share in any joint IP then created...

richard70 - 18 Dec 2003 18:59 - 9 of 110

I agree with you hangon.I have made money with this co before (short term) but now this situation looks really bad, when the price was 9.75 and trendind up , I though that it will go up until 12p or 15p,because
they made a clear hand & cup.
and I though that this would bring back the person confident in this co. To be honest I put a target of 24p to 25p by july -sep.
But now everything is diferent. Who knows?
Guys I love to chat about stockmarket and I dont have a friend thats like this beautiful thing. I live in uk.
If any one likes to chat about it pls, my email is richardserrano@hotmail.com
YOU can put me in your messenger .
All the best RICHARD.

Dear investor :
Review of Operations
Sciphers business is organised into two
distinct areas: Patent Licensing and
Product Licensing and Sale.
Patent Licensing builds on Sciphers
extensive experience in IP management
to create value for clients by providing
technology transfer, licensing and
consulting services.
Product Licensing and Sale focuses
on the origination, development and
commercialisation of Scipher-owned
technology through licensing or the sale
of developed products.
Patent Licensing
Since its inception in 2000, Sciphers
Patent Licensing operation, QED, has
established itself as a leading provider
of comprehensive IP exploitation
services to IP owners, providers and
buyers across the world. In December
2002, Scipher acquired US-based
intellectual property licensing business,
yet2.com, Inc., the worlds largest online
marketplace for the exchange of IP. The
acquisition complements the existing
Patent Licensing business, extends
Sciphers expertise in all facets of IP
management and licensing and
strengthens the Patent Licensing
operations in the US and Japan. Growth
in revenue, the number and quality of
technologies over which QED has
licensing rights, and the client base,
reflects the opportunities in this
marketplace. Revenues rose by 21%
to 4.3m (2002: 3.6m) through
revenue-sharing royalty agreements,
IP strategy consulting and from the
yet2.com marketplace.
Product Licensing and Sale
Secure Identification
New business revenues from Secure
Identification were 4.0m in the year
(2002: 4.4m). Revenue was lower
than expected, owing to the slippage
of certain contracts scheduled for the
second half of the year. In particular, the
2.1m information systems contract with
Satellite Information Services, that was
signed in April 2003, has given Secure
Identification a strong start to the current
year. Revenue for the period was driven
by a 20% increase in sales of Verid
fingerprint readers and by expansion of
its systems business. Its identity systems
were chosen by a number of institutional
and multinational organisations in the
local authority and offshore oil sectors.
The successful 2.0m smart-card
project for the National Health Service
was extended by a further 0.7m. A
border-control identity project on behalf
of the Government of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria was announced in
September 2002. Through its licensee in
the US, Appleton Papers, Deedmark
has been adopted by motor manufacturer,
Ford, to protect vehicle documents, and a
further licence was granted to Portals
Bathford, part of De La Rue. Demand
continued for Watermark tape for use
in banking, transport and stored-value
card applications.
Displays
Revenue from Displays improved by 39%
in the year, with an increasing number of
product designs incorporating Sciphers
microdisplays. Growth prospects from
microdisplay-based applications such as
rear-projection televisions and projector
systems remain strong. In September
2002, Scipher entered into an agreement
with Optogone of France to use
microdisplays in the development of
a range of advanced optical switching
devices for the telecommunications
industry. In May 2002, PicVue Electronics,
Sciphers Taiwanese partner for the
exploitation of our silicon chip-based

Sciphers leadership in display
technologies underlies the
development and production of
sophisticated silicon chip-based
microdisplays. The technology is
finding ever-growing applications
in consumer products that include
microdisplay technology, confirmed its
plans for high volume microdisplay
manufacturing in Taiwan. Progress
towards financing this operation has
been encouraging.
Communications
Revenue contributed by Communications
grew to 4.2m in the year from sales
of wireless broadband equipment and
from contracts in the defence sector
for fibre interconnection systems. An
agreement was signed with Royal Mail
for the design, supply, installation and
support of its wireless networks across
the UK. A contract with BT to provide
broadband wireless and fibre products
was also won in the year. The strategy for
Communications has been shifted towards
a solutions-oriented business that is ideally
placed to benefit from the market growth
for wireless data communications.
3D Sound
Slippage in certain expected contracts
resulted in a reduction in revenues from
3D Sound to 1.4m (2002: 2.8m).
During the year new licences were
signed with the Taiwanese companies,
Realtek Semiconductors, Via
Technologies and ITE.
With Sciphers technology incorporated in
most of the worlds multimedia PCs, it is
the de facto 3D audio standard. Following
3D Sounds successful penetration of the
games console market where it is used on
Microsofts Xbox, it launched
GameCODA, a middleware product
that facilitates the integration of 3D sound
into games to be played on different
games consoles as well as PCs. An
agreement was signed with LSI Logic of
the US to develop the technology for use
on new games hardware.
Sensors
Sensors achieved an increase in
revenues of 174% to 0.3m in the year
as the call-off of sales from detector
manufacturers improved. Domestic
detector products incorporating the
Monox carbon monoxide sensors are
now sold in the US under the S-tech
brand from Patrick Plastics one of
North Americas largest detector
manufacturers. Four other major
manufacturers are preparing to launch
Monox-enabled detectors in the current
year. There has been a threefold increase
in sales for industrial air-quality
applications.
Technology Generation
Scipher continues to develop new
technologies identified as the source of
new IP-based business opportunities.
Approximately 35 R&D projects are
currently being progressed with a variety
of companies. These include:
microchemical reactor technology to
develop high throughput drug and
catalyst screening techniques;
microfluidic technology to develop a
process for spinning silk thread from
artificial or natural proteins; a new
flexible security standard that is
expected to have applications in the
growing market for digital rights
management and content protection;
and an agreement with BAA to extend
trials of a system to monitor the
movement of people in airports.
Further information about Sciphers
operations can be found on the website:

rear-projection televisions, projector
systems and head-mounted displays.
Among other applications for these
microdisplays are advanced optical
switching devices for telecommunications.

Tokyo - 27 Jan 2004 09:18 - 25 of 110

I've made alot of cash with RTD and am now looking for somewhere else, and this maybe the place. I see 24 pence a share being mentioned on this board (although mostly by Richard, it's good to have that much confidence in a stock) I held on to RTD when everybody else was bailing, and am now smiling ear to ear as it keeps rising, SIP has almost doubled throughout this month, but how much is left in it?
are you expecting new contracts? Huge profits? What?

moneyplus - 27 Jan 2004 09:42 - 26 of 110

Tokyo-Hello, welcome on this thread. SIP was a sky rocket in the tech bubble and might do well again. It has struggled for a long time with too many lossmaking parts but has now brought in a new CEO with a good track record, who is streamlining by closing down the biggest lossmaker and is planning to sell off other bits--just keeping the three best parts of the business. If-- and it's a big if- he can sort ought the finances, Scipher has a brilliant future and we will make money!
As you say it has doubled this month so for big buyers with nerve it has already paid off. I am a small buyer in for the long term with fingers crossed!
Do your own research, this is only my opinion. Anyone else out there with any views?

moneyplus - 27 Jan 2004 09:55 - 27 of 110

Scipher--up over 10% this morning to 6.50p!

Tokyo - 27 Jan 2004 10:36 - 28 of 110

moneyplus

thanks for the info, just visited their website and read the press releases. I shall go off and do some more research on this one, but my interest has been awakened

amardev - 27 Jan 2004 11:50 - 29 of 110

I'm a short term trader...... usually holding a stock from 1 to 4 months.
Must admit I went into this after they bombed just before Xmas....
thinking the only way is up.
Have topped up with even more since then. I lost a fair bit on Shell after their poor report on reserves and they still haven't bounced back.
I thought I couldn't do much worse, even if Sip went bust.
So much for 'blue chips'.
The charts for Sip look very positive.
It has broken above the 50 day MA and I would be very pleased to see it break through the 200 Day which is now 8.5p.
So that's my short term target and will continue to hold if the breakthrough is decisive.
Good luck to all holders.

peeyam - 03 Feb 2004 14:49 - 30 of 110

Take a look at this share it is in a rebound target price is 10p and the volume is up at 1.1 mill also there is up-coming news.

On Feb 5, Scipher will announce the outcome of Dr Rudy Burger's review of
Scipher's operations, business model and strategy and the future directions for
the company.

trades since 14th jan to date:

44.5 million buy, 27.5 million sell and 11 million unknown.

moneyplus - 04 Feb 2004 01:37 - 31 of 110

Thanks Peeyam-this is encouraging I have a feeling this new ceo will reward us all. patience is needed

moneyplus - 05 Feb 2004 15:36 - 32 of 110

The new CEO has acted very quickly and his ideas make sense. I think this is good news if the plan comes off, the banks are still supportive the shares should recover again. I would like to afford a shedload but will just add a modest number to my holding. What do you all think?

amardev - 05 Feb 2004 15:53 - 33 of 110

I'm still holding.......... even though I've had butterflies ALL DAY.
Sometimes you just have to take these things on the chin.
Thankfully AFD came really good this afternoon.
So,all in all, I survive to fight another day.
P.S. I have altready got a shed load, so wish me luck.
Regards to all SIP holders.
P.P.S. Hope the good buying volume bodes well for the future.

richard70 - 05 Feb 2004 18:13 - 34 of 110

I will holding as well.moneyplus & amardev and we will see what happen.
i hope that someting good
Regards RICHARD

richard70 - 05 Feb 2004 18:14 - 35 of 110

something....sorry

moneyplus - 06 Feb 2004 12:34 - 36 of 110

moneyplus - 06 Feb 2004 14:21 - 37 of 110

Price has started to rise again I am pleased to see! put your butterflies to rest Amardev.

richard70 - 11 Feb 2004 12:10 - 38 of 110

Hello moneyplus, 6p is almost a resisten level now.wich is no good for us, but they could do a channal at this price 4p-5p and get stronger, if they can end the cup nicely and break the resisten level 6p something good can happen. Also I think that we were no locky, scipher was trendind up , but Mr:Boost bad news were not at the right time, wish is a very bad step for the company and for us, even that , i still thinking that something good can happen. all the best RICHARD

moneyplus - 12 Feb 2004 02:50 - 39 of 110

Hold on and keep hoping-it is very early days for the new CEO. Something good will happen Richard. cheers m/plus

richard70 - 12 Feb 2004 09:49 - 40 of 110

I know moneyplus that is very early for a new ceo but that announcemnet at this moment was not a clever step because even if he had to announces the bad results he should do it (I think)using more clever words as you can not keep investor confidence saying that the company is not going to generate enough cash. He just said" Don't put money in this company". he can not say that when the company is recovering 3/4 of the price in less than a week.this is a buisness not a church in orden to be that honest.

I think what that was a stupid step. I would like to hear your opinions.

Richard

moneyplus - 12 Feb 2004 14:45 - 41 of 110

Richard I think he was giving reasons for closing and selling the groups assets and underperforming investments, also to clear the decks and be honest about the turnaround he has to achieve. Also the previous chief takes the blame for the mess the company got into---I hope all his future announcements will be good ones as they are holding onto the three best bits of the company and concentrating on them. He admits they were spread to thinly before and didn't have the funds to support it. blue again today -I am still keeping my fingers crossed Richard!

richard70 - 13 Feb 2004 11:35 - 42 of 110

Ok moneyplus i can see that you are a good person, YOU just want to be sweet with him.but you didn't answer my question. was that a clever step o no.i just like to keep my money were it is making something, no in a free museum. have you seen the 5 year chart of this company.it is a nightmare. have been going down from 9 to 3p that is telling yuo, that if you are going to be chief in this company you have to be good, you have to be clever and you have to win. Everybody make mistake. I made one, buying here , I just don like to waste my time , looking the chart,it doesn't look good and i think we are going to be here for long time. but im still 33 by 50 i will be out jejejeje all the best RICHARD

moneyplus - 13 Feb 2004 11:51 - 43 of 110

I think you will make a profit by 35! Don't forget the chief bought a very large amount of shares himself--he must think he's in with a chance! good luck next week. I think we need Goldfinger to follow SIP he seems to find out a lot about the companies he watches. cheers m.plus

moneyplus - 13 Feb 2004 11:52 - 44 of 110

richard70 - 13 Feb 2004 12:27 - 45 of 110

Thank you to be that positive, but to reach 35p they have to buy all fish & chips in london and add them to company jejejeje
.and that it is almost impossible. 8p could be if they can finish this cup,

Tokyo - 17 Feb 2004 14:48 - 46 of 110

What do you guys feel this will drop to, before it starts to climb?

Any thoughts?

moneyplus - 17 Feb 2004 15:46 - 47 of 110

I bought in at 3.5p and they seem to find a resistance of 4.5 now and have gone up to 6p. when things improve if this new man turns the company round they will hopefully reach 10p + within 6months---and on up. fingersxxx

amardev - 17 Feb 2004 18:09 - 48 of 110

Tokyo and all SIP holders............
I think we're skidding along the bottom now.
Here's hoping for a gradual climb up.

Tokyo - 19 Feb 2004 13:05 - 49 of 110

It's nice to see a few familiar names on this thread, I have been following this stock for a couple of weeks now, haven't bought in yet, as I was waiting to see what it would drop to. 4.5p seems to be the resistance price, I shall be diving in next week

moneyplus - 19 Feb 2004 15:36 - 50 of 110

Good luck Tokyo, we're all in together, but may have to be patient!

Tokyo - 19 Feb 2004 16:11 - 51 of 110

moneyplus

From reading the recent statements & the history of this company. I was thinking about 6 months. long enough for the new M.D to start to turn things around?

If it ends up around 10 pence will be very happy. At 4.5p it now looks like a good buy. Do not think the new guy can make as many mistakes as his predecesors. Hopefully the only way is up, with this company, although agree with you, it is not going to be overnight

moneyplus - 20 Feb 2004 14:17 - 52 of 110

A few positive announcements will lift the price---got to come soon!

amardev - 20 Feb 2004 15:00 - 53 of 110

I'm sitting on a substantial paper loss at the moment.......
since the Chairmans update.
Have decided to hang in there.
Here's hoping for all of us.
Would love to see more comments/views from other traders/holders.
Regards

moneyplus - 21 Feb 2004 01:08 - 54 of 110

richard70 - 29 Feb 2004 13:46 - 55 of 110

hello amardev & moneyplus .looking from chart perspective i done my analysis last week and this company is channaling the 4p share price, which is not 100% bad, because, now they and us are going through an very important step, if they can lift the price to 6p -8p, a big buyer could be interested in the company, and give to them the money that they need to continue.
i haven't read nothing interesting about Scipher, but dont forget that a good investor buys during the bad news and sells during the good news
then somebody could help this company, some thing good can happen. look what happen with British Energy almost finish 3 month ago, it went from 4p to 11p, so good luck for all of you.and keep buying and buying.
RICHARD

moneyplus - 29 Feb 2004 18:15 - 56 of 110

Yes, I am sure we'll get rewards soon--the price is trying to lift off> I would like to buy more as soon as I can free up some cash!! Stay patient, remember they could be over a pound in twelve months!

Tokyo - 01 Mar 2004 09:06 - 57 of 110

moneyplus - they could be over a pound in 12 months?????

What do you base this on?

I do agree with you, SIP does look like a good investment, but not that good.

If you have some good info, please share.

looking forward to your posting

tokyo

amardev - 01 Mar 2004 09:22 - 58 of 110

I echo Tokyo's comments.
Is that just wishfull thinking........
or have we missed something.
Regards to all holders.

RoyMarklove - 01 Mar 2004 14:00 - 59 of 110

More buys than sells today, you may be able to still get these at 4.15p if you are quick. I think these could begin to move now.

moneyplus - 01 Mar 2004 14:35 - 60 of 110

I am hopeful because the new CEO has a track record of turning ailing companies around as reported on this BB when he was appointed, he didn't wait long to close or sell off the badly performing investments which were draining the company cash and I think he is clearing the decks with all the bad news he has announced. The banks are continuing to support the company and there are three core investments which are performing well. this indicates to me that the long term outlook is rewarding and the short term investors should make a profit as well. I very much hope that all the bad news is out, the tech sector is rising and this company has bumped along the bottom long enough!!
All this is only my humble opinion, I have no definite info to share! good luck to all. buys out number sells today!

Fred1new - 01 Mar 2004 15:05 - 61 of 110

Having had a holding in this company for too many months. I think it is more likely to be over the hill and gone, rather than over 100p in 12mths.

I look at this share as a painful lesson and try to recall the details before I buy any new share without engaging my addled brain.

richard70 - 01 Mar 2004 17:29 - 62 of 110

Fred1new don kill yourself yet. Im not' as positive as my friend moneyplus.
but i think that something can happen, but it doesn't depends of us ,it depend of the ceo's company and the people that work there, i still hope for something good because , if we lose, they lose the job as well. and i think that they dont want to lose their job, dont forget that this company came from 9 share price 5 year ago, so they should think what are they going to do? for this year, they are sitll on time.
to be honest with you the new ceo for my isn't very clever, he made a mistake a mouth ago and drop the price, went the company were ending a handle, but that belong to the pass.
I think that if we are lucky by the end of july , we could see 25p or 1 as my friend moneyplus seat. once againg sorry about my english. all the best RICHARD

richard70 - 04 Mar 2004 12:20 - 63 of 110

I going to buy 20 000 000 shares , so be ready . jejejeje

Hello again Richard, I think you are right about the U S market staying high but I don't know if SIP have much business with the states. Perhaps other holders will know. I do know it takes a long time to turn a bad-nearly bust-company around, but I think it will happen and we can build up our shares on the way. ha ha ha is laughing Richard-hee hee hee is giggling Richard, and I expect you are giggling at me!! never mind I have my dreams and I dream SIP will help me to a rich old age! Only my opinion mind! How is the weather in Cuba? better than England I bet. MP

MY FRIEND CUBA IS VERY NICE COUNTRY, EVERYBODY THAT GOES THERE COMEBACK. IT IS THE SAFEST PLACE IN THE CONTINENT. GO THERE AND U WILL SEE. I LIVE IN KENNINGTON, IN LONDON .SPEAKING ABOUT OTHER THINGS: HAVE YOU READ A BOOK CALLED "TREADING LIKE QUE PRO????" I WANT TO BUY IT BUT I DONT KNOW HOW GOOD IT IS
I WENT TO SICPHER.COM AND OUR DEAR FRIEND HASN'T ANYTHING NEW FOR US.
THIS WAS NOT A GOOD WEEK FOR SICPHER. I HOPE NEXT WEEK THEY DO BETTER. THE DROP FROM 4P TO 3.88p IS NOT FUNNY, BECAUSE IT BREAKS THE HANDLE AND REPEATS THE SAME THING THAT HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS COMPANY IN 3 OCASSIONS IN LESS THAT 5 YEARS (CHANNAL, CUP & HANDLE AND BIG DROP), BUT WE WILL SEE. WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT AND INVITIE ALL SCIPHER SHARE HOLDERS TO SEND A STRATEGY TO THIS CHAT ROOM IN ORDER TO PAST IT ON TO THEM. DON'T THINK THAT IT IS WRONG, WE HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO DO IT . REGARDS RICHARD

Hi Richard.
I love your encouragement.
I have a shed load of this stock.........
and at the moment it's costing me money.
For me it's a big gamble.........
I hope it pays off.
Keep up the postings...
If nothing else..... you certainly make me smile.
Regards to all holders.

richard70 - 06 Mar 2004 12:08 - 72 of 110

HELLO , IF YOU ARE LOSING MONEY IM LOSING MONEY AS WELL, SO I DONT WANT TO LOSE IT.
IF Mr CEO DOES THE SAME STUPINESS, THAT HE DID A MONTH AGO FOR SURE THAT I WILL HAVE A CHAT WITH HIM, BECAUSE HE CAN NOT MM ABOUT WITH OUR MONEY & I KNOW WHAT THEY DO WITH THE INVESTOR MONEY, RESTAURANS , NICE CAR , GOOD COMPUTERS, CHATING ABOUT FUTBOL AND THE COMPANY GOING DOWN, TO BE HONEST AFTER THAT STEP THAT HE MADE I DONT LIKE HIM.
IM NOT SURE THAT WAS THIS COMPANY BUT IF YOU SEE THE CEO OF SHELL, WITH WAS NOT DOING NOTHING IMPORTANT . HE WENT TO BLOOMBERG TV AND HE SPOKED ABOUT THE COMPANY VERY WELL AND THE FOLLOWING DAY SHELL WENT FROM 42$ IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY TO 46$.I NOT SAYING THAT HI HAS TO LIE TO THE PEOPLE, HI HAS TO BE CLEVER WITH THE PEOPLE.BECAUSE THE BIG BUYERS LIKE THE BANKS THEY KNOW WHAT ARE THEY DOING AND THEY LIKE RECOVERING COMPANYS THEY ARE expectING STRONG PERFORMS AND TO GET LOT OF MONEY IN EVERY SINGLE STEP,WHO IS GOING TO PUT 100 000 000> I CAN NOT FIND AN INDICATOR THAT WORK AT THIS MOMENT IN SICPHER CHART PATTER ,ALL THE BEST RICHARD

Tokyo - 07 Mar 2004 13:49 - 73 of 110

amardev - You seemed to have traded well with RTD, At what support level do you see this stock (SIP) falling too. I was looking at buying in last week, but decided to hold off when it dropped. Any advice I could look into?

moneyplus - 07 Mar 2004 15:04 - 74 of 110

No real news means it will just bump along at this level. There is a new Chairman to be announced when the current one goes in July, if they choose well and maybe give a reasonable trading update--we might have lift off! All just my humble opinion--Richard is starting to plant a few doubts but I try to stay positive!

amardev - 07 Mar 2004 23:11 - 75 of 110

Greetings Tokyo!
Sorry I don't have much positive news on SIP at the moment.
I repeat, 'for me it's a big gamble'
At the moment the stock is completely unloved and being ignored.
Any positive newsflow would light a fire under it's share price.
I agree with moneyplus, we're bumping along the bottom NOW.
Who dares wins ......
Good luck to all holders.

richard70 - 09 Mar 2004 12:03 - 76 of 110

Hello Amardev, Tokyo,Moneyplus & the rest of the traders, sicpher keeps going down, but we have something good in our favor. The ftse1000 performance is looking very well.
I'm invitng u to have a look at Ftse100 5 year chart pattern. They could drop from 4500 to 4200. But Ftse could reach the 5000 by the end of this year, after this it could look funny because there are little resistent above 5000. Is a real pity that our money is not working as fast as it should,

Moneyplus, is Scipher going to change the ceo again?

all the best
RICHARD

moneyplus - 09 Mar 2004 18:20 - 77 of 110

why they have to do it like this? EG ERON Company had a very bad result but untill the end they were fighting with everybody againg them.and I dont see them fighting at all RICHARD

amardev - 12 Mar 2004 21:19 - 81 of 110

Greetings all SIP holders
I really thought this was going to bomb this week.
However, it has really held up very well considering the market falls of the last few days.
After a few quiet days trading, there seems to be some interest in it today.
I believe that the share is about to wake up from it's slumber.
Hope so........ I'm still holding a boat load.
My interpretation of it's charts, is that they also look encouraging.
Good luck to all.

moneyplus - 13 Mar 2004 15:21 - 82 of 110

If the charts look good maybe more blue next week. The management must be due to make some announcements soon they have been quiet for a long time!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

29 March 2004

Scipher plc ('Scipher' or 'the Company')

Contract Wins and Year End Update

Contract Wins

Scipher is pleased to announce today that its Secure Identification business,
TSSI, has been awarded two contract wins with the National Health Service (NHS)
totalling 2.5m.

The first contract covers a three-year extension to TSSI's NHS smart card
systems programme that was originally set up to cover doctors in training. The
system is now being expanded to cover a wider group of cardholders including
all other hospital doctors and students within medical schools. The contract is
valued at 1.5m over three years.

The second is a maintenance contract for a three-year period that covers the
existing system installations and the central database management. Over 1000
installations are now in place under the original contract. The value of this
contract is 1.0m over three years.

The smart card system now interfaces with the General Medical Council
registrations system ensuring all doctors' registrations are accurately
recorded. To date, the project, designed and implemented by TSSI, has
successfully been rolled out to over 200 NHS Trusts throughout England. It is
the only NHS-wide system in place that manages doctors' occupational health and
personnel information hosted on a single national file server. The system
allows NHS Human Resource departments to easily record and confirm the
pre-employment checks essential to providing a safe service to patients.

Year End Update

On 5 February 2004, Dr Rudy Burger, CEO of Scipher, announced the outcome of
the strategic review that set out a plan to drive the Company to profitability.

The Company is executing on all aspects of its plan and is ahead of schedule in
a number of areas including its disposals programme.

In particular, solid progress has been achieved on a number of fronts that
include:

* Reductions in cash burn have enabled the Company to continue operating
within its banking facilities

* New senior appointments within Scipher, including Danny Chapchal as Deputy
Chairman and Duncan Penrose as Interim Corporate Finance Director

* New management within TSSI has delivered a notable turnaround in business
performance

* Assuming that the planned restructuring is completed then, in aggregate,
the three core businesses (TSSI, Wavelength and CRL Opto) are expected to
be profitable in the coming year.

As previously stated, the Company has a requirement to raise funds in order to
complete its restructuring and fund growth in its core businesses. Options that
are available to the Company are being pursued.

The Company expects revenues for the year ending 31 March 2004 to be of the
order of 15.0 million and the group operating loss to be less than in the year
ended 31 March 2003.

Dr Rudy Burger, CEO, said: 'We are well on the way towards achieving the
turnaround of Scipher's business. There are milestones yet to be achieved,
however I am confident that the progress made this quarter will allow us to
achieve our goals.'

finally positive news, hopefully share price will respond.

amardev - 29 Mar 2004 20:23 - 85 of 110

Greetings to all SIP holders, and welcome aboard Tokyo.
You will see from previous messages that I have been in this share since the results pre Xmas.
Bought in at 3.5p, watched it go to over 6p in the new year......
only to see it drift back (very painful)
However, this is a nice bit of good news and I see it climbing back over
recent highs and feel that the recovery will be more sustained this time.

Why all the panic?? Surely if they raise funds to start corporate activity etc. it means they are back from the brink and starting to move ahead? Any comments SIP holders?

ssmush - 24 Jun 2004 16:46 - 105 of 110

if u believe that this co will turn around (i do) then u will have to hold on for at least 6 months, and then reap the benefits. it may crash and burn, but, if they turn it around, then there will be major upside over the next 12 months.

Stay lucky

ansar - 03 Jul 2004 15:27 - 106 of 110

Hello all Scipher Share holders

AS I HAVE A LARGE SHAREHOLDING IN Scipher I wrote a letter to the CEO asking him about the future of the company the dismal share price and the chances of a recovery.

This was his reply

Please rest assured that I am working diligently to enhance share holders interest in Scipher. Extensive corporate restructuring of the type that has been required by Scipher is always painful process.

Rudolph E Burger 24th June 2004

Judging by the recently falls again in the share price I think that Scipher will be sold. The question is what is the company worth?

This company has been a huge disappointment

moneyplus - 04 Jul 2004 17:28 - 107 of 110

It's certainly painful for us!! If they have turned the corner maybe they need the fundraising to pay for acquisitions, there should be an update due soon. Hang in there!! MP

ansar - 12 Jul 2004 19:53 - 108 of 110

Dear Mp

Thank for the encouragement,

Any idea when Scipher will post their latest accounts, they are certainly overdue.

If you would like to contact Scipher and try and find out what is happening with the share price, you could give them a ring.

Just look on there website.

Personally, I think this lot are a bunch of fuc ... idiots

Any views Scipher holders.

Peadar10 - 28 Jul 2004 22:21 - 109 of 110

moving up after another disposal. anybody got any further thoughts and does anyone know the company debt?

moneyplus - 29 Jul 2004 01:28 - 110 of 110

This is encouraging news, I hope the results should be announced soon and show the company is slowly working off it's debt mountain. I don't know the exact amount but this new CEO is known for pulling companies back from the brink!!
He has put in his own money buying a large block of shares soon after he was appointed and willalso be rewarded with generous share options if he succeeds--he has said it is like turning an oil tanker but I think it is good that the banks are continuing to support him when everyone else thought SIP was dead and buried
Anybody with strong nerves and patience I think will be rewarded, I have bought and will continue to add if the news stays positive, but definitely a very long term hold!! As ever this is only my opinion-D Y O R !
