FFastFill narrows losses by more than 50% and increases turnover 317% (FFA)

skids - 13 Nov 2003 09:59

Latest News
-----------

LONDON (AFX) - FFastFill PLC saw its pretax loss narrow in the six months to Sept 30 2003.

It said the past six months has been a period of consolidation and progress for the company providing a strong platform from which to launch its new application service offerings.

The results show a pretax loss of 1.2 mln stg compared with 2.6 mln and a massive 317 pct increase in turnover to 1.6 mln stg.

The group said it has made good progress in bringing forward the next generation of software; this is planned for delivery during the first half of 2004.

'We now have a strong pipeline, which will lead to more new customer signings later this financial year,' it added.

Cash at the end of September was 1.588 mln stg, down from 2.45 mln. No interim dividend is proposed.

Executive chairman Keith Todd said that, while budgets for IT expenditure in the financial services sector remain constrained, derivatives volumes are growing and prospects and customers are looking for efficiency improvements in the delivery of their technology.

'The board has confidence in the competitiveness of the company's software and services and in its ability to deliver its plans.'

Thoughts anyone?

The interims are out today.

ckmtang - 13 Nov 2003 15:18 - 5 of 123

seemed quite good. and the price is quite cheap at that moment. but why they didn`t rise much today?

skids - 13 Nov 2003 15:22 - 6 of 123

My guess is competition is high in their field, plus cash reserve has reduced by the same amount as the pre-tax loss!

I think the results are good, but not fantastic...

As aways tho DYOR.

ckmtang - 13 Nov 2003 15:25 - 7 of 123

Just took the plunge on this one, agree with joey123 on the potential and Directors buying shares in the Company can only be a good sign, as they can see the bigger picture.
It's risen again today so things look promising

joey123 - 21 Jan 2004 14:08 - 21 of 123

Taken from advfn.

Recent share placings have given the company the funds needed to continue to grow. Better times ahead for shareholders. IMHO.

On 13 Nov 2003, the interim results to 30 Sep 2003 stated: "The market continues to be challenging but significant progress has been made:

* Turnover has grown by 317% to 1.6m.
* We have delivered two further quarterly software releases, both on time,
to specification and with high levels of reliability.
* We have further enhanced the product functionality raising all
components to the level of our industry leading risk management system.
* We have increased again the scope of our exchange connections to include
LME, IPE, and e-CBOT. These bring connectivity to 12 exchanges worldwide.
* We have made good progress in bringing forward our next generation of
software; this is planned for delivery during the first half of 2004.
* We now have a strong pipeline, which will lead to more new customer
signings later this financial year.

Outlook

While budgets for IT expenditure in the financial services sector remain
constrained, derivatives volumes are growing and our prospects and customers are
looking for efficiency improvements in the delivery of their technology. The
board has confidence in the competitiveness of the company's software and
services and in its ability to deliver its plans."

PLUS: The following share options details gives a good indication of where management appointed in October 2002 want to take the company:

"The Company will issue options to Mr Todd for 14,808,072 shares, to Mr Hartnell
for 4,936,025 shares and to Dr Elmore for 4,936,025 shares;

* the exercise price for the share options will be 7p
* these options will vest in 3 tranches
* tranches two and three being subject to the market capitalisation of the
company reaching 14.45m and 24.45m respectively."

Ironically, buying at 7.75p now is a lot less risky than at 3.5p or so last year when those options were granted given the funding that has been raised and the progress that the company has made.

Current shares in issue about 102m after the recent placings (incl. 22 Dec 03 RNS). Mkt cap at 7.25p is 7.4m.

DrKW also have nearly 10m warrants exercisable at 7p a share. This could raise more funds if needed and could happen anytime if the share price rises over 7p again. All IMHO. DYOR.

Poverty - 22 Jan 2004 01:12 - 22 of 123

I reckon these shares are building up a head of steam and will zoom with just a tiny bit more good news! A lot of little shares are moving this January - it looks like the wider market sees a lot of value in these co's that have held on, improved management and got sound recent funding. Here's hoping...

something IS happening at Ffastfill and, as we all know, it aint what you do its the way that you do it.You know, so much information comes out of Barbados that one might be forgiven for believing that ALL the big deals and dealers were centered in that small island. Well, maybe not ALL but pound for pound there is more cash washing around Barbados than many 'financial centers' and more millionaires ready to make 'just one more deal' If that sounds patronizing, forget it. Most of the deals coooked up in Barbados are sound and profitmaking - what WE have to work out is 'is there MORE TO COME' on the FFastfill deal or is the info coming out of the Carribean Island 'old hat' P.S. it also helps to have a rich Mum who retired there and who LOVES to gossip.

joehargan1 - 29 Apr 2004 20:36 - 34 of 123

We all agree it's undervalued and set for a rally but when? The results on May 13th if I'm reading up right should be well ahead of even the most bullish analyst expectations I've read...assuming they have held costs steady but what is unknown is how much they've reinvested behind ASP and new business development. We'll know by the 13th I guess...I'm getting edgy as the price has eased 5% this week and I just cannot fathom it out...anyone have any point of view?

joey123 - 13 May 2004 10:48 - 35 of 123

Excellent set of results cash burn under control and costs loss per share reduced to a measly 3p from 10p a 6.6% rise today onwards and upwards.

FONTY - 13 May 2004 11:43 - 36 of 123

Brilliant - I can see this as my 10 bagger of the year. I hold 15K so every cross your fingers.

joey123 - 13 May 2004 13:45 - 37 of 123

hopefully there will be some press comment. Once this breaks 10p and inevitably it will then people will stand and take notice of FFastfills true potential.

joehargan1 - 14 May 2004 19:22 - 38 of 123

As expected, glittering results and even better trading statement. Amazed that the press didn't pick it up. Will be interesting to watch next week. THe potential is there but needs some PR coverage to keep the momentum going. Breaking through 10p will be critical..if it does then, no looking back.

joey123 - 18 May 2004 08:21 - 39 of 123

I can see nothing more than general market sentiment knocking this down I think this is a good buying opportunity its difficult to get any kind of large quantity at these levels.

jules99 - 19 May 2004 00:03 - 40 of 123

A great one to tuck away at current price...keep the thread going as I dont get the time to come on everyday...Not many follow FFA, but it's nice to know some know the potential of this future ten bagger...very under valued at 4m in the current market, if and when it gets going it will reward one a many...

jules99

joehargan1 - 19 May 2004 12:06 - 41 of 123

Agreed, this is one to hold for the long term. I must be a Keith Todd afficionado because I also hold ESY and would put it in the same camp. Both are extremely well managed businesses with strong top-line growth potential. Current performance gives confidence that they also have the management capability to realize this in full.

jules99 - 19 May 2004 21:06 - 42 of 123

Joe...

My personal target for FFastfill is 50p+ from current price of 7p, which I think could well happen...

If FFA were to increase it's mk cap even 5/10 times from current 4m it would still fairly valued...now thats value...

I have sold my RTD and PXc and bought into FFA for value and potential higher returns on original investemnt....well much higher in fact...

PXC is not going anywhere I think having looked into recent acquisition... as MK cap is way way too high...

DYOR..
Jules99.

joehargan1 - 21 May 2004 00:01 - 43 of 123

50p would make me very very very happy but I think ever so slightly ambitious. That said its clearly well undervalued and worth accumulating..barring disasters this will not drop any further and has lots and lots of upside. Expect a breakthrough to positive EBITDA by second half given ASD customer wins and cost containment. Breaking 10p will drive the price upwards but we need to get more regular updates to start building some momentum. No volume currently. They need to start generating more news. All too quiet to do anything spectacular but then I think they are playing a long term game and so should we.

They are making a very big plunge in the US (Chicago exchange) where they have significantly upweighted their sales team in the last 6 months. If they can build scale (relative to thier small size) with what is a superior offering then the customer wins should start coming in soon. They are courting some potentially large accounts and customer news can really shift this stock price up. This is such a critical year for them and the push is expensive to fund but if they keep building revenue this year will make it to operating profit in '05. High growth prospect of steady progress this year and profits next year - all make this a great one to have and hold long. Still not without risk, but this is run by a talented and dedicated team committed to establishing this company. In my view only a matter of time until the institutions wake up to the potential. Take a look on www.ffastfill.com for recent releases.

Good News indeed - well done Ffastfil!

However - what we need is some bad news - because no amount of good news seems to help the share price at all!

Fred1new - 09 Jun 2004 20:29 - 54 of 123

Perhaps the reason for lack of movement is NM size 15K and spread of 6.5+ Anybody holding would be in for the longterm and adding costs to the dealing does not make it very attractive.

Have faith. I feel that this one will definitely reward our patience. Needs a higher volume of trading then it will start to take off. When you add up the new revenue/customer wins it is starting to feel like this will be a great year. Getting to 10p is the first key target...once we get there it will start to move faster.

jules99 - 10 Jun 2004 23:21 - 57 of 123

Another customer signed and positive re-launch outlook from Todd. Hopefully we'll get some impetus now - need the company to start getting some column inches. I'm still very bullish that this one can really soar.

joehargan1 - 23 Jul 2004 09:27 - 59 of 123

the recent acquisition of future technology will be eranings accretive and gives FFA a furteher $2mm on the top-line - a perfect tuck in acquistition that fits their London and Chicago plans perfectly - this is a long hold because they are doing everything the right way to build a profitable and very sustainable business - I've long been a big admirer of FFA and now they really seem to be flying ahead - the share price is still lagging behind the reality of performance but for how much longer - can't wait for the results to come out - I'm constantly adding.

joehargan1 - 16 Oct 2004 13:02 - 60 of 123

London 12th October 2004: FFastFill today announced that their ASP offering has become the first to be accredited by the IPE (International Petroleum Exchange) for direct connection to their new Redditch IT Hub. The connection will enable IPE members to access the Internet based InterchangeTM trading platform and will be particularly important when IPEs electronic-only morning trading begins on November 1.
This ultra-quick 2 Megabit connection will allow FFastFill to provide the fastest solution on the market. Traders not already connected to the IPEs online platform will be able to hook up to FFastFill ASP within 48 hours without the need for additional software installation at the clients site.

Keith Todd, FFastFill's Executive Chairman said "Having built our industrial strength Application Service and combined it with 24x7 Service Level Agreements, FFastFill have already set the benchmark for the rest of the market. We are delighted that the IPE have given us the opportunity to help them and their customers break new ground and exploit the opportunities of trading electronically. Our newly combined team has once again proven themselves pioneers in the marketplace, reducing cost of ownership and driving up expectations.

Richard Ward, CEO of the International Petroleum Exchange, commented I am delighted that FFastFill have made this commitment which will greatly help our members as we make this important transition to electronic trading.

How frustrating is FFA? Great company, great management, great product (all IMHO) and yet the SP resembles a turtle ambling through treacle. And that's an amble during a bull push that is seeing huge gains made in other areas. Confused? You will be after this SP stagnation...

I am going to be faithful to FFA as they will go up but the key word is 'eventually' - meanwhile doing the loyalty thing with Caledon Resources, Jarvis and of course the fantastic Stanelco.

I don't want to be kicking myself this time next year.

Good luck to all holders.

queen1 - 08 Feb 2005 09:26 - 68 of 123

Fonty - being faithful could pay off. Up 14% so far today. Anyone have a feeling for why the sudden excitement?

I pulled out of Iomart trebled my money but they are now up 1300% so don't want to do the same on FFA - I am in this one for a ten bagger but it will take a while. Dumped Jarvis, still staying stuck with Caledon and enjoying Stanelco.

FFA supporters just carry on supporting and you will be really well patted on the back IMHO.

Happy watching

The MM's keep upping the price to draw out the sellers...why?

joehargan1 - 19 Feb 2005 21:57 - 78 of 123

could be a big buyer building and about to come in, perhaps an institution.

joehargan1 - 02 Mar 2005 14:57 - 79 of 123

finally broken 10p...this could be the start of a rally and news beckoning.

profit warnings rarely come in with one only so... reckon this is going down to 4p-ish (imho)

Now gone into FFA... the're on the up... (imo)
Will get some more in the next week at these levels.
Was in moneyweek last week repeating the shares mag rec.

queen1 - 16 May 2006 13:48 - 83 of 123

Welcome skyhigh. FFA is one of those small stocks that I really feel has potential. So much so that I've sat on them through some pretty lean times and it'll take a lot of northwards momentum to get them anywhere near where I first bought in but I'm quietly confident.

skyhigh - 25 May 2006 07:38 - 84 of 123

This should help....from today's Shares Magazine......

Plays of the Week: Buy Alliance Pharma at 18.5p - South China Resources at 21p

myway - 27 Nov 2006 10:05 - 89 of 123

Michael our 70 year old came into the shareclubuk coffee meeting this morning with a copy of the FFastFills interim results..

The company has now made the transformation from software products to one of an Application Service Provider serving the electronic trading community benefits from this scaleable business model are starting to show results

Revenue is up by 21% .. EBITDA has reduced loss by 45% to 0.680 million. With positive trading September - October Loss this time around was 1.289m.. Cash in hand was 1.271m

myway - 11 Dec 2006 09:23 - 90 of 123

We are living in a new world.. Paper work has all but gone to be replaced by software platforms that can support multiple asset classes.. This is FFastFills market place which is opening up a number of important strategic opportunities for the company with the major institutions.. To my mind FfastFill should expand over the next trading period..

queen1 - 05 Jan 2007 08:31 - 91 of 123

So, a potential offer then........

myway - 08 Jan 2007 15:53 - 92 of 123

Well someone is looking over the books... I note that the big boys are starting to buy in . at this stage its sit on your hands and wait... follow shareclubuk.co.uk as all the news is posted there.....

queen1 - 08 Jan 2007 19:21 - 93 of 123

I bought in at 11p many moons ago so it'd be nice to get back somewhere close at least!

axedec - 13 Jan 2007 11:27 - 94 of 123

So a potential bid. www.ffastill.com - why now?

queen1 - 13 Jan 2007 12:51 - 95 of 123

Profitability around the corner, some big client wins....

aevansdj - 14 Jan 2007 18:55 - 96 of 123

Does anybody know who is considering a bid for ffastfill?

Must admit have weighed in & bought some more.

myway - 23 Jan 2007 19:26 - 97 of 123

Any idea on who is talking to FfastFill re a possible offer for the company? The 28 day period is just about up.. An announcement should be made this coming week.. Reuters could be in the frame to make a move?

myway - 29 Jan 2007 14:04 - 98 of 123

Ffastfill Plc Someone is looking at the books.. The Market Makers are holding the price at 7.88p which gives share-club-uk a profit of 111%. I have taken out the book price by selling off some shares. Now the big question is do I sell and take all of the profits or sit tight and wait for the outcome? Very soon we will find out the true intent of the company that has made the approach regarding a possible offerthe big question is the level of a bid.. If indeed there is a bid Any input please?.. deal or no deal? My own feeling is that FFA has a first class product. So I cannot see a fall in the S.P. in any case.. This week should be most interesting

myway - 05 Feb 2007 11:39 - 99 of 123

Ffastfill Plc Approach regarding a possible offer for the company Patsystems is suspected of having an interest in Ffastfill.. However there could be a number of different people looking at the company.. A major shareholder, even a Bank or a competitorInside track market sources news is that any offer at all would have to be in the region of 14p conservatively, so a bid between 14p to 25p would be needed to get the board interested. However with the cost base now fixed and profits around the corner (with no tax to pay for a while, as they have been making a loss for so long). Who knows what they could be worth going it alone......

queen1 - 05 Feb 2007 19:17 - 100 of 123

Nice to see you on here as well myway. I bought FFA at 11p and they've headed south ever since so 14-25p would be great!

myway - 12 Feb 2007 10:43 - 101 of 123

myway - 05 Mar 2007 12:41 - 105 of 123

Hi queen1 news just out...

Mon 5th March.

End of talks announcement and trading update FFastFill has now terminated these discussions. FFastFill that the unsolicited approach was an encouraging endorsement of the company strategy of their overall application as a service provision, it failed to recognise the true company value

You can find the full text of the report at www.shareclubuk.co.uk The upbeat news is the true fact that FFastFill is continuing to engage with and sign up new customers, such as the contract with Natexis Commodity Markets which was announced on 27 February 2007.

As a result, therefore the Board remains optimistic about FFastFill's prospects as an independent company, with a bright future.

queen1 - 05 Mar 2007 12:48 - 106 of 123

Hi myway

I don't think that this is necessarily a bad thing although the market has obviously reacted badly. It's good to see a Board with believe in itself and its Company, who are not willing to sell cheap for the sake of it. If contract wins continue apace I think FFA will be worth a lot more than 9-9.5p in a couple of years time. We may look back on today as a lucky escape!

skyhigh - 05 Mar 2007 14:32 - 107 of 123

Yep, worth hanging on in there... don't see any adverse reason to sell... as long as they keep growing and winning contracts and deals etc, then the rewards should follow ! (imho)

queen1 - 06 Mar 2007 15:32 - 108 of 123

Indeed they should....!

myway - 26 Mar 2007 10:38 - 109 of 123

The partnership with Reuters has open up new business for FFastFill. The next stage is winning new contracts.

Hi queen1

Pre-Close Statement 2006/7 The company plans on issuing its results at the end of May, the company expects to report financial results for the year to 31 March 2007 broadly in line with market expectations despite the short term operational impact of the recently terminated talks with a potential offeror. The company finished the year with a significantly increased order book for the next twelve months. Chairman Kaith Todd has worked hard to turn the company around.

Ffastfill at long last this old dog is on the move. The acquisition of Exchange Systems Technology Ltd., represents an attractive opportunity to expand FFA's product set and accelerate its growth. At shareclubuk.co.uk FFA is indeed our number one stock.

myway - 02 Aug 2007 12:08 - 117 of 123

Ffastfill hit the jackpot with their first project from the stable of EST which it recently acquired. The new business win was undertaken for SEB, although the bank has been a long standing customer of EST. shareclubuk.co.uk was also pleased to read this announcement as its a prominent share of the clubs portfolio

queen1 - 17 Oct 2007 18:23 - 118 of 123

Some positive movement every day this week. Anyone know why this may be after a very quiet period?

myway - 22 Oct 2007 14:04 - 119 of 123

Hi Queen FFA is starting to take advantage of its new set up service, which is much faster so traders are showing interest.

FFastFill is the leading provider of application services to the global derivatives community. FFAs services and solutions use the latest developments in technology to automate trade flow processes across a firm's front, middle and back offices. FFA's solutions encompass electronic order routing, clearing, risk management and back office as part of integrated, yet modular system architecture. FFA's application services provide institutions with cost savings in their administrative and IT
departments and significantly reduce or eliminate the investment costs associated with maintaining their own technology infrastructure. All of FFA's services are
delivered against a contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA), which can be
tailored to an institution's business requirements. This quality of delivered service has been enabled through the deployment of a uniquely engineered and totally managed software and technology infrastructure. FFA recently acquired Exchange Systems Technology Ltd a company supplying back office (Post Trade Processing) systems to the financial markets.

At shareclubuk.co.uk meeting this morning the general feeling is that the merger with ETS has gone well, over the last week the share price has traded up, we all look forward to the next set of figures due to be released in November. One of our best investment to date.

Director's June09-deals are pretty poor IMHO - almost a week after they post "increases" three Dirs dip-in to a total of under50k - ( which makes me look, if it's EACH!)......Ooer not exactly a lot of confidence in this software-business.
Not one for me, now.

I bought into this one last week @ 5.69p, had some a couple of years ago but sold @ a small loss, so looking to recoup that loss and hopefully make a few bob.
