3rd biggest gainer today so far is PIT at 16% and price is 3.5p. The rise is interesting as gallacher the builders appear to have been reducing their stake and early trades seem to show the stake may have been cleared. Some comments about things on iii site.
One view that if stock overhang has cleared price will rise.
Personally i'm watching from sidelines as penny shares can make large gains or large losses.
Some comments on iii site about the valuation of land at the poole factory site but not living near cannot confirm or deny.If was confirmed might give the shares a punt.

NEtb2b2-would be the worst investment you ever made, one of the most hyped shares of 2000, when I had some, never came off, I lost and they will never be a good investment! Avoid and save yourself the money and stress! Sorry to be so negative buy I don,t think there is a worse share out there!

laurencecope - 28 Nov 2003 16:10 - 7 of 52

Thanks playboy

Netb2b2 went so low don't you think it has to rise sometime?
Maybe it's time to make some profit from them!

Here's a recent FT article.

NetB2B2 shares up 16% on strong FY results
Last Update: 11/18/2002 6:20:32 AM
Shares in NetB2B2 (UK:NEB) were up 16 per cent to 0.7p in mid-morning trading on Monday after the digital services firm's 2002 full year results showed a narrowed loss before tax of 2.4m from 7.7m in 2001. Losses per share were 0.9p from 3.9p in 2001. Turnover doubled to 6m as the company achieved positive operating free cashflow. Keith Young, NetB2B2 Plc chairman commented: "We believe that there are likely to be a growing number of opportunities for the development of the group in a market that has seen a large reduction in the number of competitors providing like services. At the same time we continue to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities."

ThePlayboy - 28 Nov 2003 16:21 - 8 of 52

"Netb2b2 went so low don't you think it has to rise sometime"

You have to ask yourself why is it so low? The chart is a flat line, rise of 16%, the spread is 40%, a real bucket shop share!imho

Thanks everyone for all the tips/suggestions.If anyone has any more please
keep posting as I,and I am sure many others, will be interested rgds aj

P.S.Gordon Geko:-I think you made a wise move getting out as most oil shares
are-in my opinion-dangerous because of terrorism/Russian Yukos/Iraq,etc.

ajren - 01 Dec 2003 19:06 - 11 of 52

Neilpos above mentioned evs, teo, tig, sdk and ial

I am not interested in tig - but might be good.

Yahoo - at close today :-

evs = 3.38
teo = 3.88
sdk = .85
ial = 2.50

Perhaps all of us Penniers should have a look at them.
I will post info here.Perhaps others will too so we will get an overall
picture.rgds aj

Fortune Oil, FTO, looking better than ever now !

dandu71 - 01 Dec 2003 22:26 - 13 of 52

I bought a considerable sum of IAL several months ago at 3p and topped up with a load more at 2.48p on Friday. The risk with a company such as IAL is that it is on the brink of either falling totally or bouncing back to recovery. The former you stand to lose your investment (which is the risk that you take) or in the latter case you stand to make a healthy gain. I have took this risk based on the forecast of the company being cash flow positive next year, the desire and determination of it`s management and further recomendation from Shares. FTO has been looking positive for a while and has received glowing reports on other bulletin boards. You pay your money, you take a choice......

ajren - 02 Dec 2003 10:11 - 14 of 52

Hi dandu71.That is exactly what I did - I bought Corus at 8p when there was a
good chance it might have folded. My biggest regret is that I sold at 14 p -
after the countless hours I spent 7 days a week researching it.aj

Obviously you think Ial has great potential.I will look at it.

Andy - 02 Dec 2003 11:37 - 15 of 52

ajren,

I think you are mistaken about Fortune oil.

it is more than "an oil company", it imports oil into China, utilising FTO's own exclusive mooring facilities, and i don't agree that world terrorism threatens this at all, IMHO.

FTO looks to be sailing a steady course now, and I feel it will reward the patient investor.

dandu71 - 02 Dec 2003 11:46 - 16 of 52

AJ don`t beat yourself up about selling Corus at 14p, i don`t think many private investors can recall a time when they bought at the lowest price possible and sold at the highest. Just looking at IAL so far today the buys have outweighed the sells 10 fold which if the trend keeps up will help to pull the price back up, although I wouldn`t be expecting too much from this company until 2004. This time next year I`ll either be regretting my punt or living it up in the Carribean!

ajren - 02 Dec 2003 18:15 - 17 of 52

2.50p-unchanged

However,something is happening - 2,620,162 V - but cannot find news.
Yahoo says short and medium is Bearish but no evidence today.Perhaps tomorrow.aj

dandu71 - 02 Dec 2003 19:12 - 18 of 52

Thanks AJ, please keep this thread up to date with any info you can find on IAL, it`s greatly appreciated. D

Puffinmaster - 03 Dec 2003 22:35 - 19 of 52

Take a look at TIR. They are trading @ just over tuppence and their portfolio alone is worth more than that - real potential if any of their holdings/projects come good (incl MNT!) Go here: http://www.tiger-rf.com/index.cfm

neilpos - 04 Dec 2003 08:24 - 20 of 52

Puffinmaster,
I meant TIR when I posted earlier (and put TIG by mistake) - I agree they are worth watching. Last time Minmet put a spurt on shares in TIR jumped 75% as they have a large holding. They invest in mining companies and may well benefit from the current surge in the mining sector (I have some shares by the way bought at 1.4p).

gordon geko - 04 Dec 2003 09:22 - 21 of 52

ACTIF GROUP (AIM:ACT) – 8.1p BUY

Shares in this swimwear retailer zoomed up to 10.75p after our tip at 8.13p (13 Nov ’03) but profit takers moved in, slashing the price to under 8p. Not to worry. Big price movements occur in little stocks and the underlying picture remains unchanged

What about Gaming Corporation up nearlly 15% this morning and tipped by Evil Knievil and also a good write up in shares mag.

cheers Gf.

RoyMarklove - 04 Dec 2003 09:56 - 23 of 52

I agree with tikka & dandu, Fortune Oil & IAL

dandu71 - 04 Dec 2003 10:00 - 24 of 52

Thanks Roy, could you give any guestimates when IAL may sart seeing an upturn? I know they are forecast to be cashflow positive in 2004 so i`ve tucked my money away and just keeping and eye on it with a view to an upturn. They have been flatlined now for many months, any ideas when the upturn may commence?

gary k - 04 Dec 2003 10:28 - 25 of 52

I've been in FTO since 1999 when it was sailing up and down on the then tech boom. Made some monet from it them but have held a core amount long term and am in the red 50% down, so these have quite a way to retrace to former levels.

Indications are good that streamlining of their business activities are allowing losses to be cut and them to concentrate on the more prospective aspects.

It's a huge market place out there and when trading picks up and takes off, as it will inevitably do at some point, FTO are positioned to take advantage on a few fronts.

Speculative long term recovery buy IMHO.

ajren - 04 Dec 2003 10:28 - 26 of 52

IAL
Unable to find any news.Anyone have news ? rgds aj

RoyMarklove - 04 Dec 2003 19:36 - 27 of 52

dandu
I think with both IAL & Fortune and based on my experience of trading in penny shares for over 25 years we need to be patient to see what happens in 2004, we could be lucky and make a small profit in 3to4 months. as with all shares and more importantly with penny shares do make sure you create a fairly tight stop loss, do not be afraid to take a small loss if they move the wrong way, if you dont you may turn a small loss into a large one. also if the shares move up move your stop loss up to protect your profits

jules99 - 04 Dec 2003 19:46 - 28 of 52

Pipex Com is out of your range now...they were once at 4p...sadly or not so sadly are now 8p..!

In my portfolio this is one the best opportunities in terms of risk/gain upside...

The upside for PIPEX COM is excellent and down side very little, for one the company makes money, not just turnover but around 10m profit also and plenty of it for that matter, compared to dozens of other small Companies who dont if I could care to list.

The price rise towards the next set of results will be a pleasure to watch from the backseat..

Great future prospects but as always DYOR...

Arjen,

have a look at Offshore Telecom (OST). Shares are currently at 0.775p and this could be the year that they fly. I do not hold these but am looking to purchase a few in the new year. If you find anything interesting let me know.

namreh3 - 31 Dec 2003 20:28 - 34 of 52

we have been looking at DTC recently. See this BB for details.

nematode - 01 Jan 2004 18:53 - 35 of 52

Try cybit holdings(CYH) at 3.2p mid price.Alot of potential with Lex vehicles and norwich union pay as you go insurance.

ratnakumar - 01 Jan 2004 23:19 - 36 of 52

hi....folks
stick with IAL........good recovery is in forecast.

overgrowth - 02 Jan 2004 00:04 - 37 of 52

I agree with SBR. Last chances coming up very soon to get OMH for under 4p and this one could really fly. The company has always attracted a lot of interest with investors and traders alike, however where the traders have had all the bounty in the past, I reckon anyone getting in now will be handsomely rewarded if they are prepared to hold on for the next 1-2 years. In the short term we will be looking at decent gains also - though, not the "pay off your mortagage" level rises over the slightly longer timsescales.

Gantenbrink - 02 Jan 2004 16:46 - 38 of 52

2 I've been holding for a while

Rgt 2.75 should come good in 2004.Huge upside if pharmaceutical product comes good for Alzheimers treatment albeit that is probably more like 2006 however favourable article due to appear in trade mag in Feb which should bring great exposure to the company.

Ima .52 Losses dropped dramatically last year. Price ticked up today twice when I purchased 2 x 50,000 shares (250ish a trade). I couldn't buy on line - had to ring so may be short of stock.

Good luck all for 2004

Good potential in SIP if you want to back the new CEO--this share soared a few years back and burnt a lot of fingers including mine! I am hoping the restructuring will help me make it back. Also GMC, CYH and HCEG check them out but make your own decisions. cheers m.plus

BANKONE - 08 Feb 2004 16:03 - 51 of 52

Arjen, Do you think you could have a look at Shoprite and see if this supermarket chain in one of the Isles has any potential. With all the talk at the moment of Supermarket takeovers is this company likely to be amongst them. Even woolworths is rumoured to be on someones shopping list. I know its outside of the '4p' area but is it worth any further speculation.

Doshmaker - 08 Feb 2004 16:16 - 52 of 52

ajren - VTB looks a good bet to me, wait for it to settle, ideal entry point is 5p - 5.25p. Went up on Friday due to takeover rumours. I have bought in several times at 4.5p - 5.25p and even if nothing comes to fruition with the takeover rumours you should have ample opportunities to sell at a decent profit.
