The last information I have on IDN was a write up from MoneyAM the beginning of August '03 after their results. 'A combination of maiden profits and stronger balance sheet certainly makes IDN's shares look more attractive today than six months ago. The group, which provides integrated phone billing services, also reduced its overheads and improved margins during the half year. With a market value of under 4m and a leap into the black, IDN could be an attractive morsel to its bigger rivals.' Speculative buy. Last review 27.3.03 neutral.

Hope this information is useful to you.

IDN Telecom PLC
30 July 2003

IDN Telecom plc

Interim Results

Positive Developments

Profitability achieved - Gross margins increased by 3% and overheads at
lowest level since admission to AIM.

Improved liquidity - The combination of positive EBITDA results and a
430k share placement has strengthened IDN's balance sheet.

One stop shop - Now with calls, line rental and broadband services, IDN
is a 'one stop shop' for telecommunication requirements.

Customer commitments - With the launch of IDN's line rental products, a
significant number of clients have demonstrated their commitment to IDN by
signing one to three year contracts.

Chairman's Statement

IDN has made encouraging progress in the first half of the current financial
year. At the interim stage, IDN has recorded a small net profit for the first
time in its history.

For the six months ended 30 April 2003 IDN achieved revenues of 4,349k and a
profit before tax of 5k. The trends over the past 6 months have been maintained
and IDN remains on track to achieve its full year objectives including a
significant year on year profit improvement.

Gross margins have continued to improve during the first half of the year and
are now 3% higher than at the beginning of the period. This reflects increased
focus on returns from new business, improved product mix and a reduction in
existing revenues where gross margins were low relative to the support costs
required.

Overheads remain under tight control and are at their lowest ongoing level since
IDN's admission to the AIM market. However, IDN will continue to invest in
infrastructure to enhance service and support to its clients and to grow both
the direct and indirect sales force.

The cash flow reflects EBITDA of 125k and share placement proceeds of 430k.
Net assets have improved as a result from a negative position of 282k as at 31
October 2002 to a net asset position of 153k as at 30 April 2003.

The market remains competitive but sentiment to IDN's services is positive
across the SME sector. IDN remains focused on its aim of providing excellent
customer service, comprehensive products and services, and competitive pricing
to its existing and future clients.

The direct and indirect sales resources are primarily targeted at the mid to
upper end SME sector and many successes have been secured in the corporate and
local government sectors. New clients in the period include Sara Lee Courtaulds.
Existing clients adopting IDN's calls and rental product in the period include
South Warwickshire Primary Health Care Trust and Lee Valley Regional Park
Authority.

Activity in the second half will continue to be focused on the objective of
growing revenues and maximising profit and cash generation. In the first half,
IDN has improved its position in the marketplace and expects that this progress
will result in a year on year increase in profitability for the full year.

these have been rising steadily no nearning the 4p mark, still few weeks to go before results are out..still worth looking into

jenger - 15 Feb 2004 17:40 - 20 of 101

IDN results are out the first week in March. The results are going to exceed all expectations. This company has been recomended as one of the penny shares players of the year.
It has also been tipped in plenty of colums as a company to watch out for. One article in the Daily Mail last week descriced it as a little winner.
I bought at 1.25 and I am sitting tight. The company has just gone into profit for the first time this year and greater things are round the corner. Should speculation about a take over bid happen then you could see this share price rocket.

kantona - 16 Feb 2004 17:03 - 21 of 101

it has been one of my better performing shares.. only regret i don't hold alot .. hindsight makes a fool of us all!

windys160 - 01 Mar 2004 11:34 - 22 of 101

Only a week to go before results any thoughts on what will happen after the results have been released, considering how well they r doing could we see 7p ? or higher let's hope so.

kantona - 01 Mar 2004 12:23 - 23 of 101

soz windy i have just started a new thread on this ..for some reason i couldn't find this ..my apologise

windys160 - 01 Mar 2004 12:40 - 24 of 101

that all right kantona what do you think the effect's of the results will have on these shares?

Doshmaker - 01 Mar 2004 23:03 - 25 of 101

I am in with 250,000 of these at 3.1p, cannot see 7p in the short term. I am hoping for 5p in the next fortnight. Results are expected to be impressive, how impressive will determine where this goes next week. I see 4.5p by Friday close.

kantona - 01 Mar 2004 23:52 - 26 of 101

windy..in response to ur question .. the share price has been very positive since the trading update they have moved up from 2.6p to around the current levels .. i am going to be cautiously optimistic and say i agree with Doshmaker with his analysis .. the current momentum in anticipation of the results should lift theshare price to the 5p mark ..after the results are known and then it's anyone's guess.

should be interesting few days ahead for this ..

P.S there is another co i hold chelford group (chr) ..very similar story to IDN a recovery play ..results due mid march --last trading statement very positive. etc etc ..is also worth monitoring. i vll dig out that thread as well

windys160 - 05 Mar 2004 08:18 - 27 of 101

with good results on monday any reason for the price still going down?

enderwiggan - 05 Mar 2004 23:00 - 28 of 101

Not going down any more. Appears to be significant number of buys. Been holding for a few months now. Can't see there being a sudden hike Monday, but a slow tick up will probably be on the cards.

kantona - 08 Mar 2004 08:02 - 29 of 101

Final results for year ended 31 October 2003

Chairman's Statement

In 2003 the IDN Telecom group enjoyed a very positive year and we are now
trading profitably after the years of establishment losses. Last year we worked
very hard to secure significant improvements in profitability and revenue
growth. The further strengthening of our product and service offering helped us
to achieve several new major customer successes.

The Company has been successful in winning many major new accounts with
annualised expenditure in the range of 100,000 to 400,000. Successes have been
recorded in local government, health care and the corporate sector.

Revenues in 2003 totalled 9,209,000, which was a 21% increase on the annualised
revenues for 2002. Full year pre-tax profits closed at 258,000, which is a
2,438,000 improvement over the 2,180,000 trading loss reported in 2002. EBITDA
amounted to 555,000 (representing 6% of revenues).

Gross margins improved in the year to 30.3%, which was a healthy increase from
the 27.1% in 2002. Overheads for 2003 fell by 32%, as compared to 2002 on an
annualised basis, and closed at 2,499,000. As a percentage of revenues
overheads have been reduced from 48.2% in 2002 to just 27.1% in 2003.

Cash flow in 2003 was enhanced through a 430,000 share placement and rigorous
collection of receivables. Net assets improved by 688,000 from a negative
281,000 in 2002 to a positive 407,000 in 2003.

The line rental product has been successfully introduced into the product
portfolio and the majority of new customer accounts now take advantage of this
product. Improved purchase rates from our network providers and our enhanced
focus on tariff management have combined to enable IDN to offer competitively
priced services to its customers whilst improving financial performance.

IDN's offerings are based on being competitive whilst striving to ensure that
customer service standards are second to none.

As a 'Virtual Service Provider' without fixed infrastructure, carrier
relationships are of crucial importance. IDN will use only those carriers that
offer a first class network for national and international traffic, competitive
tariffs and excellent customer support. To minimise risk IDN will continue to
spread its network requirements amongst 4 to 6 carriers.

The product portfolio has been strengthened considerably in 2003. As one of the
first adopters in the UK of the BT line rental product, IDN has successfully
provisioned and now supports many thousands of lines across its customer base.
The mobile product offering, which was launched at the end of the financial
year, now helps to provide IDN clients with a true 'one-stop shop' for their
landline, mobile and broadband requirements.

The current trading year will see a further expansion of the product portfolio
in line with the communication requirements of the market place.

The Current Year

Throughout 2004, multiple product penetration strategies will continue to be
deployed, as there is a significant opportunity to enhance revenues and customer
satisfaction via the broadening of the offering into existing and future
clients.

Financially, IDN will drive for increased revenues via both direct and third
party channels and enhanced profitability through tariff management, margin
control and improved productivity.

In summary, 2003 was a very satisfactory year for IDN. The Company is now well
positioned to capitalise on its market opportunities. As a Board we are very
confident that we will continue to improve and further strengthen the Group's
financial performance throughout 2004.

The improvement in the Company's results would not have been possible without
the commitment and hard work that has been shown by our employees during the
year, to whom I extend my appreciation.

windys160 - 08 Mar 2004 16:07 - 30 of 101

iam amazed, this company with these results make them very attractive to be bought out.profit takers are in.

enderwiggan - 10 Mar 2004 21:15 - 33 of 101

I am rather shocked. Expected a nice tick up after the results. Instead, the drop was totally unexpected. So are these going to slowly tick up again???? Anyone got any ideas?

windys160 - 23 Mar 2004 21:50 - 34 of 101

still seem to be going down for no reason can anyone shed some light on the matter?

jenger - 26 Mar 2004 14:31 - 35 of 101

I think a lot of profit taking has been going on. Especially at the end of the tax year. Even at this price it is still double the price it was at the beginning of the year. I bought at 1.25p but I am holding as I am convinced their is still a lot of upside in this stock.

FONTY - 26 Mar 2004 16:08 - 36 of 101

I am holding and agree with jenger that people are just re-assessing their portfolios before the end of the tax year. Fingers crossed

windys160 - 02 Apr 2004 08:30 - 37 of 101

ptholden - 31 Jul 2004 10:49 - 46 of 101

Windy

I am no expert in reading Balance sheets and happy to be corrected, but is this company likely to experience cash flow problems? No cash in hand and overdrawn at the bank, Creditors greater than Debtors. What do you think? Fund raising on the way? Good set of results though, but all companies need operating capital.

Regards

PTH

windys160 - 02 Aug 2004 16:24 - 47 of 101

no i don't think that this will experience cash flow prolems, i feel that this company still has a long way to go but is very worthy of a punt been in and out a few times now do well each time, just got back in this morning and look's like i was just in time for another flurry :-))

Ultimate Cynic - 28 Sep 2004 09:59 - 48 of 101

A good head of steam seems to be building on this share with decent volumes!!
Feeling good to be in this one at the moment.

trading statement on the way? could we see 3p soon :-)

Esmerelda - 02 Nov 2004 21:17 - 52 of 101

Seems to be a lot of people piling into this now, could it become the latest 'hot stock'? Very positive trading statement expected in next two weeks, results at end Dec or early Jan.

016622 - 15 Nov 2004 14:34 - 53 of 101

nice steep climb now to 3.8 ....

016622 - 24 Nov 2004 07:55 - 54 of 101

Revised target to 7p...

amana - 24 Nov 2004 09:00 - 55 of 101

Came into these some years ago at 5p and saw the bottom fall out. Felt it was a good company with good service and kept averaging down. Now the patience is being rewarded! Where did the 'Revised Target' of 7p come from? I see the share price gently climbing until after statement and up to results. IMHO it will go just past 5p and then start to gently fall back again. Seems to be something of a growing pattern.

Esmerelda - 25 Nov 2004 19:10 - 56 of 101

From an infomed poster on other financial sites.

Results pack currently under audit.
04 Finals 640-665k to be released 20 Dec - 7 Jan.
The board is more than happy with 04.
Hermiston has brought exciting new ideas with him, expect an added product range in 05 along with continued expansion of existing services and do not rule out growth by acquisition.

grevis2 - 10 Jan 2005 11:00 - 57 of 101

Nice rise this morning on the back of an RNS stating results due at the end of this month. Their interims seemed pretty impressive but the stock has had a bit of a roller coaster ride since then. Is this a false dawn or are they set to go higher?

grevis2 - 12 Jan 2005 12:01 - 58 of 101

Nice steady rise this morning. Max online buy is currently only 15K!

windys160 - 12 Jan 2005 12:03 - 59 of 101

Zetar, Aggregate Industries, Immunodiagnostics, Touch, Charteris, IDN Telecom, Safeland, Peacock, NXT, Jarvis and Matrix Communications in focus....

Aggregate Industries is up 33.6% over the five days at 140.25p, yesterday announcing a bid from Swiss firm Holcim.

Immunodiagnostic Systems is 19.5% better at 67.5p, making good preogress since maiden interim results at the end of 2004.

Touch Group is 29.5% ahead over the period at 25.25p with Charteris 28.2% better at 54.5p.

Notable constant gainers over four days include IDN Telecom, 18.9% ahead at 3.3p ahead of results due at month end and Safeland, 19.5p better at 67.5p.

Notable constant losers over five days include Peacock Group, down 12.8% at 239.75p following a disappointing trading statement earlier this week.

Notable constant losers over four days include NXT, 15.1% weaker at 64.5p, investors impatient for more product news.

Jarvis is 10.5% lighter at 28.625p, still struggling for survival by selling off contract work.

Matrix Communications has lost 8.9% at 206p, on profit-taking after their previous good form.

grevis2 - 14 Jan 2005 11:34 - 61 of 101

We've seen good results from firms such as matrix in recent days. I would expect something similar from IDN at the end of this month.

Commenting upon their interim results Chairman Barry Roberts said:

'The group's trading performance in the first half of the current financial year
has been particularly pleasing, with higher revenues, significant profits and
greater balance sheet strength. The results give us greater confidence that the

With all this excitement it's too easy to forget that IDN's results are due at the end of this month. Their last figures were excellent and should be equally as good as those from EVS that were announced the other day. Good luck!

The iterims were showing 'Robust Revenue Growth' and 'Continued Growth in Profitability'. If the results from other telcos are anything to go by then I would expect these to have continued upwards. Good luck!

This is an article that was published after last years results. It gives an interesting insight into how IDN has been transformed.

AT LAY'S SMALL CAPS
Smaller companies spotlight
11 March 2004
EACH week, former Fleet Street City Editor Patrick Lay keeps This Is Money readers up-to-date with a neglected, but exciting sector of the stock market - smaller companies.

Good times at Telecom

Barry Roberts, chairman of IDN Telecom, was in fine form when we met for lunch early this week; the company had just reported that a 2.18m trading loss in 2002 had been turned into a 250,000 pre-tax profit in 2003, and that must be some relief for somebody who is sitting on 75 million shares.

IDN Telecom earns its living by offering clients independent advice on the best providers of telecommunication services for both landline and mobile, as well as data communication services.

The major breakthrough for the company, which now has been suffering from development losses and restructuring in past years, has been to move from advising small and medium-sized companies, to getting involved with some of the giants of industry, local government and health care groups that spend 100,000 to 400,000 a year on their phone bills.

IDN shows companies how much they are spending on such costs, and how much can be saved by choosing an alternative carrier. Once the client is convinced, IDN negotiates terms or commission with the suppliers, who are grateful for the introduction of such valuable business, and charges the clients a fee for the cost saving advice.

Having recommended the best solution, IDN arranges appropriate contracts, service provision and migration across to the new provider - importantly it also reviews the operations regularly and advises on further changes when necessary.

In a market estimated to be worth some 4bn a year, and everybody looking to cut costs, IDN is building a reputation. SQC Research has been looking at the company and says: 'The management is committed to cash flow, profitability and revenue growth - all of which are showing continuous improvement. Big profits are now ahead, against which there are more than 4m of tax losses to use.'

The research group is setting a target price of 6p a share by the end of 2005, virtually double the current market price. That would be good news for Mr Roberts.

grevis2 - 27 Jan 2005 10:34 - 69 of 101

The iterims were decribed as showing 'Robust Revenue Growth' and 'Continued Growth in Profitability', so if this has continued then 6p is certainly possible. Come Monday, we will have a better idea as to how things are going.

grevis2 - 27 Jan 2005 13:28 - 70 of 101

Commenting upon their interim results Chairman Barry Roberts said:

'The group's trading performance in the first half of the current financial year
has been particularly pleasing, with higher revenues, significant profits and
greater balance sheet strength. The results give us greater confidence that the
performance improvements will continue for the foreseeable future.'
Chairman's Statement

Revenues grew by 38% to close at 6,017,000, whilst profits before tax increased
from 5,000 in the equivalent period last year to 285,000 this year. Earnings
before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation closed at 425,000, a rise
of 300,000 on the same period last year.

Gross margins closed at 30%, in line with the same period last year. Overheads
continue to reduce and now amount to 25% of revenues, as compared to 29% in the
same period last year.

grevis2 - 28 Jan 2005 11:47 - 71 of 101

Results are due on Monday. Let's hope the Chairman's optism was justified.

IDN Telecom FY pretax profit up 155 pct as sales rise 41 pct
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - IDN Telecom PLC, an independent provider of telecommunications services for landline, mobile, data and consultancy, said it achieved its first year of positive operating cash flow as full year pretax profits surged by 155 pct on a 41 pct hike in sales.

In the year to October, sales grew to 13.017 mln stg from 9.208 mln, led by new customers and the successful deployment of additional products into existing customers while pretax profit increased from 258,000 stg to 659,000 stg.

The company expects to make further inroads into its key markets in 2005.

Hi,

Im very new to the share game so excuse my ignorance, i invested a bit money in IDN about 12 months ago just on a tip from a share magazine and the share price is basically the same now as was a year ago. Anyone ideas on IDN shares, does it have the potential to rise, maybe over 20p in the next couple of years or am I hoping for a bit to much with this one?

cheers

Paulo2 - 17 May 2005 09:22 - 76 of 101

Have been holding out for 2.65p before I buy back in. With the interims just around the corner I'm very tempted at these prices. But was just wondering if anyone has heard about the former director who's been selling his stock, and whether he's still doing it?

canary9 - 17 May 2005 10:45 - 77 of 101

No recent news reported, but after the interims, there could be a rush for these. 1st Q was significantly ahead of last year in revenue and profit and they are on a low rating for a profitable growing company imho. dyor.

Paulo2 - 18 May 2005 08:11 - 78 of 101

Just heard a rumour from the other place that there's an RNS due out on Monday giving the date of the interims and a very bullish trading statement.

Paulo2 - 20 May 2005 16:18 - 79 of 101

Looks like the RNS rumour could be true judging by yesterday's and today's rise!

Why is this thread so quiet with the results due on Monday?

Paulo2 - 20 Jun 2005 07:54 - 82 of 101

Good results. Expect a nice increase today, with news of acquisition still to come.

moneyman - 21 Jun 2005 00:03 - 83 of 101

Nice set of results. Shame the T+ spoilt the party. Growing year on year and positive for the future. VoiP to be launched very soon and an analyst meeting later this week should see a move upto the 3.5-4p level swiftly.

moneyman - 29 Jun 2005 22:30 - 84 of 101

Nice recovery over the last few days.

moneyman - 13 Jul 2005 22:27 - 85 of 101

Got to be a buy at this level. Will be adding some tomorrow myself.

R33skyline - 14 Jul 2005 00:17 - 86 of 101

mm

Ive held these before but they look cheap now

May add some tomorrow..

moneyman - 28 Jul 2005 22:23 - 87 of 101

Well they look even cheaper now so will be buying some myself. Looks like the telco sector has turned positive. A nice little company and also making a nice little profit.

moneyman - 13 Aug 2005 23:51 - 88 of 101

Looking cheap at this price.

moneyman - 20 Aug 2005 22:32 - 89 of 101

Nice rise so far. Anyone else buying ?

moneyman - 01 Sep 2005 23:16 - 90 of 101

Better buy some more on the dip.

moneyman - 03 Sep 2005 22:21 - 91 of 101

Well added some yesterday and will be adding more Monday. This one looks very cheap presently and is far better that those dog stkcs that are pumped and dumped.

moneyman - 04 Sep 2005 20:06 - 92 of 101

Lot's of rumours floating around ADVF !

moneyman - 15 Sep 2005 22:21 - 93 of 101

This should start to follow the EVS rise soon.

moneyman - 16 Sep 2005 22:17 - 94 of 101

I don't understand why people want to buy into down and out shares and hope for the best when they can get into stocks like IDN or NWT at low levels and both companies are in profit. We can see here that it really does not take that much to move IDN.

KingKonggb - 16 Sep 2005 22:27 - 95 of 101

moneyman,

R u the only one posting on this board? I'm starting to feel sorry for you. I reckon that the full year will come in excess of 1million profit. Now if you base that on current market cap then this share is worth at least 4p. Now if we get a bid then it's quite feasible to see in excess of 6-7p.

IMHO

moneyman - 16 Sep 2005 22:30 - 96 of 101

KK sometimes it feels like it. Nice to get some company anyway. Yep looks way too cheap at present valuation.

KingKonggb - 16 Sep 2005 22:32 - 97 of 101

Stick with it on this share. Personally I can see my price prediction by end of the year.

Take it easy

paulmasterson1 - 16 Sep 2005 23:12 - 98 of 101

MM/KKB HI,

The chart says it all, pretty much a double-top, then the 50 M.A dropped through the 200 M.A which is also now falling, it's heading down, and where it will stop I won't even try to guess .... could be 1p could be lower ....

If there were some good news who knows .... expecting any ????

KingKonggb - 17 Sep 2005 08:48 - 99 of 101

PM,

Hate to say this but totally disagree, as based on profit projections (and they will probably exceed 1m for the year on their current market cap) then we can expect a sp of min 4p. Time will tell. However I still feel that they will be taken out or maybe be the takeover party! Be patient as this price won't be achieved until later on in the year.

KKB Hi,

Thanks, I will keep an eye on them, but I still see more down before the up :)

Cheers,
PM

moneyman - 18 Sep 2005 23:01 - 101 of 101

Paul I also think you are wrong. Has bounced strongly off the 2.25p support three times already. Nothing fundamentally wrong but all cash seems to be going into loss making stocks like EVS at present. This is worth far more than it's present value.
