The answer you will get is that directors have zero control over the share price since that is set by market makers on the Stock Exchange.

You need to bear in mind that buy/sell information, as reported on any share information site such as this, is not reliable for several reasons. Firstly, the Stock Exchange does not publish this information, and so the sites have to "guess" whether it is a buy or sell on the basis of whether the trade price is closest to the bid or offer. These guesses are often wrong. Secondly, there are a number of ways for market makers to delay reporting of trades and these will often have the effect of making a buy look like a sell and vice versa. Thirdly, market makers can set whatever price they like for a share: there is no rule that says that if there are buys the price should go up and vice versa.

Generally speaking it is probably best for you to ignore buy/sell information and concentrate on the price of the share. I've got to tell you though that the price looks to me like it's going down... personally I would sell if it goes below 1.1p.

What happened at 4:02pm this afternoon that the MM's felt it necessary to mark down the share in a one'er. Anybody goes eyes and ears in the right places.

Don't give up hope!

I bought Fortune Oil at 8p, (then some @ 12p in a placing) a few years ago, and they then rose to the dizzy heights of 16p, before falling to around 1p. Today they are at 7.5p, and I could have sold in profit a month ago, but for having already decided to hold for the longer term!

Shares CAN and DO recover, if you have the time and patience of course!

EEN looks to have reversed the recent uptrend, and is now dropping quickly, so the chart doesn't look very reassuring!

The Mail said buy but the Market Value must be getting a bit high now!

Only my opinion?

I am aware that there is a lot of negative sentiment toward EEN, indeed history shows a poor track record, the recent uptrend brought them to my attention and I bought in at an average of 1 pence. I believe that that this company is on the up and the main thing that will hold back the share price is negative sentiment so here are a few positive points for the argument.

This is a discussion board so if anybody disagrees with these points please reply with your reasons .



1. Latest results show good improvement;
2002 2003
Turnover $2.4M $6.2M
profit/loss -$36.2 +$0.263M


2. New well will double production (if output is achieved) planned to be running at 750 bpd before June
3. One more well scheduled to be drilled this year, possibly Two
4. Aprox $9M cash in the bank and turning a profit
5. EEN has a poor record over the past few years, but last year a complete new board of directors were appointed , unfortunately I have not had the chance to research their history yet, perhaps someone can help me here? But from my research by luck or judgment the turnaround of EEN coincides loosely with the timing of their appointment, or at least they cant be running the company any worse than the last lot.
6. Technical Analyses; Yes some TA indicators show a downtrend but the accumulative volume continues to increase which may indicate the downtrend is only temporary, Also look at Fortune Oil at the end of Jan this year, the charts were very similar to EEN now, then in Feb FTO`s share price doubled.

With Oil price at a high and the Oil sector on a roll I think EEN is worth a punt , but I am not putting my eggs in one basket I also hold SEY and FTO in this sector.

Okay who`s first to rip this apart?

I have only glanced through them, but on the face of it things look v'good!!

it just seems that no matter how many buy in at top price this share takes ages too rise i paid 1.35 about 6 wks ago and with all the good news about een id just about get me dosh back oh no im wrong its sell at 1.30 now going backwards again with the amount of buys fr outweighing the sells this should b 1.75 by now

well i had there anual report deliverd and boy it looks very good for the future plus all new directors with a lot of expriance in the oil industry but it still flipping standing still now i put twice as much in this share as me matrix and i bought matrix last week at 2.9 pence it reached 4pence too sell today and they re saying this one is gong too end up a pound in time its on the brink of major deals with vodaphone and others but i bought emerald at 1.35 6 wks ago and just about get me dosh back iff i sell afer all the good reports do i sell and put it in too matrix mmmmmmmmmmmm

I've looked at all the odds and sold EEN today at a profit of 400.00 and i've gone for greener pastures mainly bought more MXC shares.Kevin I made the same mistake as you but I can't wait another two years for EEN.

there was an oil companie found oil in columbia yesterday and there stock jumped up by over 40%
een has rights around same area and others in columbia so i think its piggy back time

I have held this stock since mid 2000 paid 0.045p averaged down since and have just gone into profit.
P.S Kev MXC have only got 6 Employees, any way MXC is Communications not Oil you should have both in your port not one or the other.
