martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 16:41 - 18 of 180

Andy

Raqmped to death, by ?

I post on the ADVFN thread and there is no remping except for Topchat and we bollock him for it. Maybe you should be a little more careful in what you say.

Look at the fundamentals

1. As per the webcast given by Ian Smith 2 acquasitions to happen before October, the first in 6 weeks from the date of the webcast. (Only 1 week left)

2. New FD to be appointed

3. Having won a Vodaphone contract for 7 figures (UK contract) now tendering for 10 more countries.

4. Interims due out on 1st June

5. Rerating from their Broker Daniel Stewart.

Read the RNS's this year and make your own mind up, but ramping not on your life....

Andy - 20 Apr 2004 16:49 - 19 of 180

martincoops,

Ramped to death by several posters, and I don't have to "be a little more careful what I say"! because It's FACT!

How many posts per hour yesterday and today?

Using the usual ramping tactic of ensuring the thread is always at the top by posting trivial rubbish every two minutes!

The same person using multiple logons to converse with himself!

That is ramping IMHO!

If the company is THAT good, it will rise without the tactics and promotion, others do!

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 17:02 - 20 of 180

Well who are the rampers then~?

Do you really think that 1 board can make a share jump 20% in 2 days especially when there are 1 billion shares in issue.....you make me laugh

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 17:08 - 21 of 180

Or are you Deramping as you missed the boat.

Look at the RNS's study them and make your own mind up. Anyway have'nt seen you posting on the ADVFN site unless of course you use another name...lol

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 17:21 - 22 of 180

The Board of Matrix Communications Group Plc is pleased to announce that it's
award winning Network Security subsidiary, Intrinsic Networks Ltd (Intrinsic),
has surpassed the first of it's revenue and operating profits targets by 25%
and 33% respectively.

The above was taken from the latest RNS (15th April)

And below from the 12th Dec

In order for the vendors to receive the full
earn-out consideration, Intrinsic will need to achieve revenues of #1.8 million
and operating profits of #400,000 for the period from 1 December 2003 to 31
October 2004. The vendors have agreed to retain any Offshore Telecom shares
received as initial and earn-out consideration for at least one year from
receipt.

So profits surpassed by 33% already for their first period. Dont forget this company has no Debt and is in one of the fastest growing industries. Intrinsic is only 1/3 of the company

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 17:23 - 23 of 180

Sorry this is not ramping just FACTS...

Andy - 20 Apr 2004 17:28 - 24 of 180

martincoops,

I don't have to name them I know who they are, and so do they! If you don't, I suggest you keep a closer eye on the threads in the months ahead!

I didn't say that 1 board can make a share jump 20% in 2 days, you clearly didn't read my earlier post, maybe you should be laughing at yourself?

I am not deramping because I am fully invested for now, so therefore no funds to invest, and am not convinced the boat has departed, yet anyway!

Have a look at the AFD chart for an example of "stock promotion", and then compare the heavy up days with the number of postings, and then compare it with a few down days after the HIGH was reached, and you may begin to see a pattern that is played out on the BB from time to time.

When a poster spends all day posting trivial post after trivial post on the same thread, do you consider he's doing it for YOUR benefit, or HIS own?

I post as Andy on ADVFN, LOL!

Andy - 20 Apr 2004 17:31 - 25 of 180

martincoops,

Just posted on MXC thread, reply to spec12 was from ANDY!

LOL!

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 17:42 - 26 of 180

Who listens to Trivial posts and of course you cant name them can you ...lol

You post implied that the rampers made the share go up and when they are done it will fall. Most if not all shares that have a surge will retrace at some point due to profit taking and possibly MM actions. Companies with a small amount of shares in issue are very prone to ramping surges

You dont think the boat has departed lol up over 350% in six months no wonder you dont have any money to spend. (Joke)

This is a long term punt but the next 8 weeks will be very exciting and I will post more informative post later for those that are interested. Dont forget shares do not go up in a straight line and there are no certainties in life (except death) But IMHO if you want to make money over the next year follow this share, put it on your watch list. But IT IS YOUR DECISION....

Good luck Andy in your dealings and I hope you do well.

Andy - 20 Apr 2004 17:57 - 27 of 180

martincoops,

I CAN name them, and so can you if you have read the thread for the last 2 days. And one or two of them may have even more familiar (and even infamous) names behind their new logon id's!

Rampers HAVE helped the share, and if you doubt that, have a look at AFD and ARX, to name but two, in recent months. Once the rampers departed, the share has drifted, due to lack of "noise"! that is the point of the trivial posts, and keeping the thread at the top all day.

And this is always done on small(ish)reasonably illiquid stocks for best effect.

I have money to spend, but prefer to keep it invested!

You missed out TAXES!

Good luck to you too, and I will keep an eye on it, but only once the noise dies down a bit, and it will, it always does.

I'm not knocking the company, but let's just say the "enthusiasm" of some posters puts me off, but please do post any decent info here, I for one will read it with interest.

kandrews250 - 20 Apr 2004 18:01 - 28 of 180

Well ramp or not this share has had good vol which has built over a time. It had to move eventually. I have been in on this one for months (sub 1p)and it has climbed before and it will no doubt pull back as profits are taken. IMO this will make a good investment but will take quite a while. With my holding I would like to see 1 retire buy my Aston Martin and a house in Greece but there is no way this will happen on current earnings. The base is being set and purchases will grow the business but share placings will liquidate the shares so doubled edge sword. The good thing is the profit and the chance to turn VOD into definate order, if they cam maintain this and not do the usualaccounting losses then the sky is blue. As usual all IMHO, best of luck to all and lets see what the end of week brings

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 18:30 - 29 of 180

Hi Kandrews

I am in from sub 1p and you are right to say it will pull back with profit takers but then it will only push forward again on news. I spoke to Matrix the other week (one of their directors)and they sounded very bullish. There do not anticipate any more dillution or a share consolidation. They are winning business every week and RNS's will flow regularly (so they say) and since speaking with them there have been 2. The interims will be the best way to gauge how things are progressing and we should see a re rating from Daniel Stewart. Those last 2 RNS's just go to show that this company is moving in the right direction and getting the contacts to win business and having Alan Watkins (former founder and managing director of Cisco systems uk) on board will only help to accelerate this.

One of the best things though is it is debt free and profitable. It has raised the funds for its acquisitions and heads of agreements have been signed. We should hear more on the first acquisition very soon.

Cheers

kandrews250 - 20 Apr 2004 19:21 - 30 of 180

Hi martincoops

thanks for the reply, the one thing that has impressed me is the way the business has been turned round after the offshore telecoms initial exploit. The attraction has always been the profit at an early stage ( gives a nice warm feeling )and the market segment which is due for great growth. The appointment of ex cisco boss ( who grew the company by acquisitions )only strengtened my views. The management learnt from the early mistakes and the news flow has only been positive. IMO can not see any downside at present and if the news flow is good over the next couple of weeks it should hold breakup but I think a pull back has to happen as MMs will try to squeeze out short or nervous. One thing is for sure I WILL NOT BE ONE OF THEM, I want that Aston Martin & house.

Cheers - look forward to your postings

martincoops - 20 Apr 2004 19:45 - 31 of 180

Hi kandrews

Aston and a house you must hold a few more than me, I'm just looking forward to retirement in 3 years... lol

Agree there will be retracement but then you get that with every share after a large rise. This is not for short termers as them will only get burnt but if you are a longterm holder the chances are you will make money possibly alot. Ian Smith has done great things with this company and this is only the start. Dont forget they have heads of agreemnents for a VoIP company as well as a Storage company.

The future looks very bright and with alot of companies having to upgrade their network systems Matrix looks well placed for the future. Network security is also at the forefront of peoples minds and the growth in this area is huge. Intrinsic's recent award will only enhance its current position in this field.

Good luck to all that hold.

kandrews250 - 20 Apr 2004 20:13 - 32 of 180

So right martincoops, this takes me back to pipex which i bought at just over 1p when it was zipcom and finally got out at 12p as there are just to many shares and it takes an atom bomb to move it now. I think good call as they were about 10.5 last time I looked and the money is better off in a more risky but payback share. 3 years is my view for this one and in the mean time working on my spreads accounts. Have a good night and lol for the rest of week

Cheers

Wow, what is happening today or for that matter this week, can anyone throw any light on why this is moving so rapidly, are we about to see an announcement regarding vodafone contract? Since name change and appointment of new director this share has been motoring....

rkausar - 23 Apr 2004 16:45 - 38 of 180

Are they going to continue going up and are they worth buying now????

kandrews250 - 23 Apr 2004 17:11 - 39 of 180

Hi rkausar

This is a growth stock with a good future as past posts have stated, it has a lot in place and good news is expected, if that happens the price IMO will move a bit, hard to say how much as it depends what is now in the current price. I do not know if you can still access the old OST thread as this gives a lot on the background. There will have to be some profit taking soon as any movemnt back will spook some people. Could end up trading in 3.75 - 4.25 range for a while (i hope no lower)to gain momentum for push through next level. As always IMO and DYOR. Lots of luck with what ever you decide.

rkausar - 23 Apr 2004 19:06 - 40 of 180

Thanx for the advise kandrews. I'm new in this share game and I have a tendency to sell at the wrong time. I have bought shares in the past which after selling have done exteremly well. Any advise would be much appreciated!!!!

rkausar - 23 Apr 2004 19:29 - 41 of 180

Or should I say some tips guys!!!!!!

djones101 - 24 Apr 2004 11:05 - 42 of 180

Good thread on Sharecrazy.com

kandrews250 - 24 Apr 2004 11:57 - 43 of 180

Hi rk, This is not the thread to give this detail but it sounds like you are entering without a clear entry exit levels, in other words trying to enter on shares which are on break out,you will nearly always miss agood % of the rise and will face the pull back, if you do not know the company you are then likely to panic and sell. Need to set your own trading criteria then search till you find the shares that meet this. Understand the share, sector, market then watch and listen. Set entry level then watch and wait, if it hits your criteria and chart indicators look good then go. For tips direction search the bb, look for a person who gives good background details and check how they perform against this this will help support or give you possible candidates. There are some good people on this board who post good info, but be aware you must do your own research and do not take these as tips, they may be trading on a different strategy to you and it is only a view. Hope that helps...and remember I may be wrong this is only my view

regards ka

Matrix buys again

Matrix Communications, the telecoms group formerly known as Offshore Telecom, is close to making another acquisition. The company is assembling a suite of products to turn itself into a useful provider of telecoms and IT network help to its blue-chip clients, and is said to be paying 2.3m for Decorum Networks, a specialist in voice over IP, a key telecoms technology. Decorum's customers are a fine list, too, including the City of London Police and Swiss Life.

yeah what buyout????

Annabel - 27 Apr 2004 16:30 - 62 of 180

Come on Kevin you have got all our attention - W H A T B U Y O U T

kandrews250 - 27 Apr 2004 18:02 - 63 of 180

Calm down folks the share has just risen in leaps and as with all large rises it it bound to pull back, with sharp rises it can pull back by large percentages, then regroup to break up. Unless there is any more major such as closing of any new major contracts with vodaphone, which IMO the speculation of this has driven the price. The next thing to look for wll be the interims. As for a buyout this must be a term kevin88889 uses to describe some price action. I can not find anything to do with an offer or even rumours, best ignored.Price will consolidate over the next few days and then new trading range will establish itself.

snakey - 27 Apr 2004 19:43 - 64 of 180

kevin is possibly referring to aquisition of Decorum Networks?? see Matrix recent news items.
best of luck

molatovkid - 28 Apr 2004 07:02 - 65 of 180

This morning 28th april,,,,

Hot off the press from FT Online, by chris flood, Michael Neill and Phillip Stafford

'Matrix Enters IT realm with a flourish'

Since announcing the name change in January and a new direction, Matrix Communications has been a very impressive performer.

It's shares have since raced up 535 percent to yesterdays close of 4.47p, attracting interest from big institutions including US fund State Street Advisors.

Daily trading volumes regularly top 30m, although it's 1.1bn shares in isssue is more than FTSE 100 companies.

Matrix was formed in January from a reverse takeover of Offshore Telecom. It immediately disposed of the loss- making telecoms arm and focussed on IT systems integration, reselling kit made by Foundry Networks, the main rival to US group Cisco. This week's acquisition of Decorum Networks, a voice over internet protocol company, added to it's network security intrinsic and the company now needs only a data storage deal to complete it's offering.

It has notched up an impressive client list, with Guardian Media, Vodaphone UK, the BAR Honda Formula 1 Team and the BBC all signed up. It also soldthe worlds first 40 gigabit network switch to the London Internet Exchange. There is also talk it may win a further deal with Vodaphome for 10 other Countries.

Owing to the changes, a valuation is presently difficult to call. Results on June 1 will give investors great clarity. House broker Daniel Stewart said Matrix has paid only five times pretax profits for it's acquisitions and used shares for the purchases, which indicated trust in it's management'.

END!

Matrix Communications Group, the UKs fastest growing network communications integrator, has announced its acquisition of Decorum Networks (Decorum). Matrix will pay a total consideration of up to 2.26m subject to Decorum achieving 3m of turnover and 500,000 operating profit for the period 1st May 2004 to 30th April 2005.

Decorum provides specialist Voice over IP solutions for both private and public sector companies including the Guardian Newspaper, Swiss Life and City of London Police. The company offers large organisations a range of services that include IP telephony, convergence, computer telephony integration, call centre technology, unified messaging and additional data and telephony services.

With the acquisition of Decorum, Matrix has successfully completed the third stage of its strategy to build the UKs communications integrator of choice for leading edge technologies and to utilise the cross-selling opportunities that exist across its existing, largely blue chip, customer base.

Alan Watkins, Chairman of Matrix said: This is another substantial step forward for the Group and brings us to the final stages of becoming the UK's communications integrator of choice for leading edge technologies. Through our current offerings we have matured our commercial relationships with several of the UK's largest blue chip companies and I have every confidence in our ability to build the level of cross selling between our subsidiaries. Our award winning reputation for expertise, reliability and after sales support makes us the natural choice for our customers to provide further services as their needs grow. The acquisition of Decorum gives us the ability to provide high quality Voice over IP solutions and we intend to leverage our reputation and current relationships to quickly and aggressively penetrate a market estimated to be worth $5.7billion by 2008.

Following the completion of the acquisition, Neil Sturgess has joined the board of Matrix. Sturgess has 25 years experience within the IT and Voice market and prior to establishing Decorum held positions with Case Communications, Linx Communications and Rank Xerox International.

Watkins added: We have already proven our ability to continually extract cost synergies within the Group and I expect the performance of Decorum to benefit from this and other aspects of the management expertise now available to the company.

Anyone know where this is going? Thought we would have broke the 5p barrer last week. Whats happening?

Thanks all.

KEVIN88889 - 04 May 2004 14:09 - 79 of 180

well cant make it out silly people selling they will regret it this one i going too b big

molatovkid - 04 May 2004 22:44 - 80 of 180

Dont stress guys.....this has gone from under 1p to 5p in a short time, there are bound to be profit takers and panickers....such is the natural way a market works. Its to be expected and will not cause a problem. This will rise again in the future and will provide good returns for those who stay in for the medium to long term

FONTY - 05 May 2004 16:27 - 81 of 180

Bouncing back - when is it going to break the 5p or should I say 1!

rkausar - 06 May 2004 07:48 - 82 of 180

Hopefully sooooon!!!!!!!

syd443s - 06 May 2004 14:34 - 83 of 180

More Buys than Sells and the price is going down, can someone explain how that works???

Cheers

jnknill - 06 May 2004 15:09 - 84 of 180

syd443s, I think the MM,s are short of shares and initially, they are trying to panic PI,s into selling! IMO of course. Rgds. base97

molatovkid - 07 May 2004 07:30 - 85 of 180

id agree with jnknill.....with no news at the moment, we have hit a bit of a lull and have seen a retracement from 5p seen earlier. I think the mms are using this period of no immediate news and no massive buying momentum to walk the price down, to free up some shares and panic weaker holders into selling up.

In my opinion, nothing to be worried about here. Standard market maker tactics and my personal strategy is to sit and wait.....more news is due soon:

1) News of storage acquisition awaited
2) News of Vodafone global contracts won (if any)
3) Interims I beleive early June (June 5th anyone?)
4) News of appointment of new Finance Director....

simonpaynton - 07 May 2004 08:38 - 86 of 180

Guys, why would the mm's want to free up shares??? whats the reason to do that???

Its terrible though to see your profits dropping away, bit here, bit there, and before you know it half of you profit has sunk, O well, I aways thought this was long term, but you soon get used to the big % days.

Simon.

syd443s - 07 May 2004 09:31 - 87 of 180

Looks like a lot of buys going through this morning, lets hope it keeps this up all day and I might be back in profit.

ckmtang - 07 May 2004 10:39 - 88 of 180

syd443s - 07 May 2004 13:23 - 91 of 180

Price going down! This share is up and down more times than the Mrs Knickers!

KEVIN88889 - 07 May 2004 13:28 - 92 of 180

why oh why DO THEY KEEP FORCEING A WIDE SPREAD SUCH AS 20 POINTS WHENEVER THAT HAPPENS ALL BUYING IN STOPS IVE NOTICED THIS OVER SEVERAL DAYS WHEN THERES ONLY 5 OR 10 BETWEEN SELL AND BUY NICE BUYS COME IN THEN THEY OPEN UP LIKE 4.20SELL 4.40 BUY TODAY AND ALL BUYING STOPPED AND SELLING STARTED AND A COMPLETE SLOWDOWN OF TRADE THEY DO THIS EVERY DAY WHY ???????????

kandrews250 - 07 May 2004 14:29 - 93 of 180

its called making money, they control the price and fill orders for customers in the process, I know a pain but the way of the world. The price will go up again and we have to take the ups and downs, mind you I am with Simon on his point aboout watching the price drop, while I am in for the long term it is a little annoying when you see over 20k go missing after such a good rise. Still the lng term is what we are after. Good luck to all and keep faith.

molatovkid - 07 May 2004 17:09 - 94 of 180

simon paynton....in answer to your question regarding freeing up shares.

Occasionally mm's get hit with a massive buying demand and I have read that in order to meet that demand they can go short....ie. sell shares they dont own to provide the shares for the public buy. They obviously have to balance their books at some point, so they then rapidly reduce the price to panic shares out of wavering sellers....hence the rapid fluctuations you see in more volatile stocks.

If i remember rightly there was an issue some time ago with Room Service, where the mms allegedly concocted a massive short with more shares than were in issue i seem to remember....obviously creating a big problem!

simonpaynton - 07 May 2004 17:14 - 95 of 180

Thanks for the answers, that does clear up my questions.

And nice to see a nice rise today...

ckmtang - 08 May 2004 16:26 - 96 of 180

i still holding MXC and do anyone know what this share target price /

kandrews250 - 08 May 2004 18:53 - 97 of 180

Depends on how long you are looking at. The first thing required is the momentum to build up and the 5p level to be broken. To do this the next interim will have to show good financials or the much talked about vodaphone deal to become a signed and done deal. IMO there is still more required to complete the company offering, they need a storage capability. The current news is good and the new additions are performing well, these are covered in previos posts, and the company is in profit. As for the price I have heard people talk about the 1 mark, I wish, as a starting point I would see 8-10p as a good result for the year, this is only my opinion and could change after the interims ( that should get some comments )which is still a good rise if you consider started at 1p...ish. Sorry not being more bullish but I like to air on the safe side.

kandrews250 - 08 May 2004 18:53 - 98 of 180

hotrott - 14 May 2004 17:19 - 129 of 180

I think it might have something to do with the AVERAGE shares traded in one half on hour compared to the previous half an hour, (Barclays will show the trading not as a total volume but in half an hour blocks so it gave me the idea they must do this for a reason) it runs a bit more complicated then just that but I think that may be the general gist of it, need to do some more research into this theory.

Anyone any good at maths out there. If thats right could be opening higher on Monday.

Have a good weekend everyone.

molatovkid - 15 May 2004 00:04 - 130 of 180

Oracle! U asked where I got the list of London Internet Exchange (LINX) members from? I lifted them from the LINX website......makes good reading if u ask me. If Matrix can cross sell to just a few of these then I would imagine we are talking some large juicy contracts to come.....

molatovkid - 15 May 2004 00:08 - 131 of 180

Heres a bit more info....Matrix are re-sellers for Foundry Networks (from USA), Foundry supplied the BIGIron hardware switch that Matrix supplied to LINX recently. Get a load of this.....lifted from articles I dug up on the web and posted on advfn.

molatovkid - 13 May'04 - 21:25 - 211 of 215 edit

extract of an article regarding foundrys IPV6 technology and where Matrix could take this into the future....

The Importance of IPv6
IPv6 is universally accepted as the protocol that will power the next generation Internet. IPv6 provides significant improvements over IPv4 in key areas including address scalability and portability, network security, multicast support and mobile IP architecture and performance. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Defense has mandated that all government networks transition to IPv6 by 2008. Network operators outside of the U.S. are accelerating their IPv6 deployments to accommodate their rapid growth and the pressing need for more scalable IP addressing.
Some of our domestic and international customers have made IPv6 a top priority in their network build-outs, said Bobby Johnson, president and CEO of Foundry Networks. Many others as well have IPv6 on their planning horizon. With the introduction of wire-speed IPv4/IPv6 modules to our Terathon products, these customers now have a seamless solution for transitioning their core Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gigabit Ethernet networks while maintaining full IPv4 interoperability and without compromising security or application performance

June 2003....

Foundry Wins SUPERCOMM "Most Promising Network Tech" Award
Foundry Networks Inc, a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, was honored at SUPERCOMM's 6th Annual SUPERQuest awards ceremony, held June 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Foundry's new high-performance, Terabit-capacity BigIron MG8 backbone 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) switch was named the "Most Promising Network Technology" in the Network Transport Infrastructure Systems and Services category. Foundry is demonstrating another member of its new Terabit-capacity, Terathon-ASIC-based switching and routing architecture, the NetIron 40G metro router, at SUPERCOMM

jnknill - 19 May 2004 16:59 - 143 of 180

wantu777, I think some of the reason for price not moving is that there are quite a lot of T25 & T20 deals still in the system, which are due for Payment/Closing within the next 2 days or so. Obviously MM,s do not want to pay out big profits!! Understand OMHO. Rgds. & Good Luck.

HUMBUG

molatovkid - 26 May 2004 08:51 - 151 of 180

listen wantu777, the results are next week, its entirely possible the mms will play around with the price over the next couple of days to panic some sellers into letting go of their shares. The interims are out on tuesday, and they may well issue some news to go with them aswell re: Vodafone contracts or the storage acquisition. IMHO!

I believe that a press/analysts meeting with Ian Stewart is scheduled for 11am.....i doubt very much they would host such a meeting to talk about a poor set of figures.

wantu777 - 26 May 2004 10:06 - 152 of 180

Who cares its a fun ride, it is good news comming out. People panicing before results wait till the news comes out and this share will fly again.

molatovkid - 26 May 2004 20:54 - 161 of 180

take a good look at the MXC graph....its gone from under 1 penny to touching 5p at one point....thats 500%. It was not going to keep rising. This is a pull back. The mms need stock....any day now good news could arrive and if the results are any good next week, this one is just as likely to rebound....

Always bear in mind that the shares the mm's buy off retail investors will be sold at a profit...so the price will be walked up again at some point i bet! The mms had a good day to create panic selling conditions today and worked it well....

FT Reports

"Matrix Communications shed 8.6 per cent to 3p. There are rumours, however, that the Aim-listed telecoms services group could bring forward its results to next Tuesday. The figures are expected be at the top end of expectations."

MM's had a good day yesterday as small investors sold in a panic and now they are buying back this morning..plenty of growth ahead so why sell now.

Matrix Communications Group plc

('Matrix' or the 'Group')

INTERIM RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30 APRIL 2004

Matrix Communications Group Plc ('Matrix' or 'The Group'), the UK's
communications integrator of choice for leading edge technologies, today
announces its unaudited results for the six months to 30 April 2004.

Highlights

* Turnover up 3,381,000 to 3,697,000

* Gross profit up 1,493,000 to 1,640,000

* Group Pre-tax profit up 822,000 to 550,000 (including minority interests)

* Net Assets up 3,146,000 to 4,473,000

* loss-making satellite communications business sold in January for 30,000

* acquired and successfully integrated three profitable IT companies during
the last 6 months in line with its core strategy

Ian Smith, CEO, commented:

'This has been a defining period for the company and we are delighted to be
reporting on the success we have achieved over the six months. As well
achieving significant organic growth from our existing businesses we have
delivered on our core objective to extend our offering and client base through
acquisition. Over the period we have succeeded in acquiring and integrating a
further three companies into the group, transforming Matrix into the UK's true
integrator of choice. As an enlarged Group we have recently won contracts with
Vodafone, B.A.R Honda and The London Internet Exchange and have engaged in a
number of talks for other exciting contracts. Looking forward, the challenge
for us now is to capture the consolidated cost efficiencies in the enlarged
Group and exploit the numerous cross-selling opportunities that are available
to us through our matured commercial relationships with our present client
base. In this period we have made great progress in turning the company around
and building a solid base of recurring revenues and high margin product mix
with leading blue chip companies. I look forward to reporting to you on our
future progress'

Embargoed Release: 07:00hrs Tuesday 1st June 2004

Matrix Communications Group Plc

(`Matrix')

Re Agreement

The Group has concluded heads of terms to acquire a profitable mid-tier
distribution business from the 1st August. This will enable Matrix to continue
to develop its market position and maintain its strong margin growth by
strengthening its key vendor relationships.

As emerging technology segments start to cross over and consolidate, it is very
important that the Group has access to Key Vendor relationships so that 'best
of breed' solutions can be offered to it's customers.

The current annual turnover of the business is 5.5m.

well folks, looked for the results first thing AM was pleased to see results which I thought were good. A little dissapointed that the price did not lift but I think the news has been in the price for some time. IMO the blame lies with the speculation on the VOD contract extention which has not come to fruit yet as well as the stupid expectations of some. On the upside the general market conditions are tough at the moment but the real good news is the steady build up of the company and the way it is being handled. This is a long term play for me and to be honest I am looking for retraction to purchase more, any weakness below 3.5 is a buy opportunity for me but this has to move trough two support levels and I do not see that happening unless weak holders panic get fed up and move out. My target for year end is now circa 6p, which I will be happy with. Of course I hope I am wrong and the price lifts in August and at year end. Anybody else got any views.

molatovkid - 01 Jun 2004 20:00 - 176 of 180

i listened to ian smith (matrix head man) on advfn broadcast today, loads of good stuff:

1) details of latest acquisition within 7-8 weeks
2) The global Vodafone contracts that everyone awaits are NOT THE BIGGEST of the contracts they are going for at the moment
3) They are looking to sell their mobile phone security service to providers other than Vodafone and are in talks with others now
4) They are short-listed for the Vodafone contracts
5) More acquisitions are likely
6) They believe turnover for the full year to be 10.5m which compares with Daniel Stewarts 7m. Smith expects turnover to rise to 20m in 2005 and 24m 2006. This is on the business they have now NOT on including any future acquisitions or new contracts

7) To be top 5 they need turnover in excess of 100m
8) Cross selling to clients seems to be going well
9) When they win contracts they can be easily in excess of 1m...
10) I seem to recall him saying they are getting new clients at 3-4 a month

Some usefull info in there to have a read of, they estimate 4.75 before contracts.

I think some people like Wantu777 fail to realise that this is a long term punt and are trying to panic people with rash statements as too the price and trading patterns
Also i am not sure if anyone can help me i know this is the wrong forum but there seems too be some people on here who understand the markets
My problem is i have some Telewest shares and would like to know what a listing on the U.S. NASDAQ market will do too shares owned by investors in the UK ??
