Yes he is... Thanks for at least acknowledging my post dave. If you look at the history of the asos reviews, you will see that I was a buyer and a talker on the discussion forums at 7-10p... I see them now at 55p (after selling at 40) I regularly look out for undervalued companies, particularly aim stocks.
Just have a look at his financial track record since playing football, he is no fool at all.. trust me... the guy is a financial genius!!
He wouldn't have bought a 10% stake for nothing lets put it that way. Also, the price dropped 50% a week or so ago as it was 'reviewing its funding finances'... why on the same day would he accept a directorship of the firm if he thought it was going bust??!! Surely wouldn't he accept a position as a consultant or just stay as a shareholder??
The only thing I am concerned about is if it gets taken private cheaply. I really don't think it is going bust... it is certainly worth a speculative buy.
Let me know how you go on.

Well I suppose a few reasons. I think it might have a lot of tax advantages for him. Also, he could add one of his cash rich businesses to it or even perhaps would like the reputation of turning a company round into a success so people will follow him into other 'bigger' things later on. Who knows?? I know the fundamentals don't look the best but I think there is definately something positive going on.

It isn't the best spread I have to admit, but it proves the mm's are cautious about it.. at 18p to buy, I think that there is massive potential for shareholder growth. Look at Ranson's comment in the last RNS, he certainly thinks so.. I mean he bought 10% of company at 21.5p, as it stands he is losing a lot of money, so it is more than within his interest to put the company on the map. The man is worth 30m plus with a proven outstanding financial track record. He wouldn't surely put all this time and capital into a 3 legged horse would he??
Every trade this week has been a buy...

Yes i have been looking at this, still cannot quite work out what they do? Setting up person to person betting? is there a market for this. Tried thier web site the other day and it wasn't working properly. Not sure about Ray Ranson either was that a good economic desicion to want to buy an ailing football club like the V**** (no swearing). Mind he wasn't a bad player when he played a few games for my team B'ham City. A bit tongue in cheek will be watching with interest.

They provide trading platforms for firms like Betonsports and if you have a look at their market value - approx 130m... massive market potential.
They provide the software for these types of firms.
As for Ranson, he put in a 30m bid for villa, and I think Ellis rejected the bid because he realised that the club was worth 100m plus so I suppose it wouldn't have been bad business.
If you have a look at the following link it explains about Ranson and his entrepeneurial success. See what you think

Very funny kivver. After my broker spoke to Joe Tighe (the ex chief executive) and him telling him he expects the company to be cashflow positive later on in the year, earlier if new contracts are won, I think the company has massive potential. With not many shares around, it has the potential to do very well. I estimate 5 times from where it is now.

Hi there. As I said earlier, I really think that from what the last chief executive said to me Joe Tighe.. that the company will be cashflow positive later on this year on the contracts it already has, let alone the new ones it gets, so I really think that the company going bust wasn't an option.. although it sounds daunting that a 'company is reviewing its funding finances'as it was said in the last RNS.
I think that when the price got to 30p, the company may well have promoted a bit of negativity to knock the price back down, if someone in the company for example wanted to buy a large amount of shares like now. This worked to a large extent and even pannicked out (what looks like an institutional holder) of 290k shares at 10p. This gave the mms some stock back and since then there have been very few sellers indeed and largely buyers. I now think mm's are short of stock again, hence the price rise to try and get some stock back.
Did you notice that the RNS came out after the price went up 5p, I think the company realised that people see the one way which this company is going, and would have found it hard to issue the shares at that price if the price was say 25p, so it brought out the announcement.
In terms of the fund raising,if i was a betting man (no pun intended on the company!!), it wouldn't surprise me if Ray Ranson was the guy wanting to buy shares at that price. If this is so, then he has already said that he thinks the company was significantly undervalued at 21.5p, so you can see why he would want a larger piece of the cake at 15p, and who wouldn't.
I know it may not seem crystal clear and there are a lot of assumptions, but it could explain a lot of things that have been going on. I think buying the stock now for the next 4-6 months could be a very good move.

I too have been following TES and it seems the panic sell (an institution????) of a couple of weeks ago appears to have been offset by speculative buyers. I think there is a long way to go from here, I am certainly in it for the long term, even if there is a bit of profit taking over the next couple of days.
I still think mms are short and there is a genuinely good story here that needs to be taken advantage of. I didn't buy any when they were 15p unfortunately, I bought mine a long time ago at 22p, 25p and 27.5p. It is good that they are at least in profit. I aren't even tempted to sell.
I spoke to someone earlier that phoned C S in London and someone there said it would get to 70p by the end of the day. I hope so!!!

Kivver, sorry not to answer your question earlier. I took the view of 5 times because I looked for similar companies to compare TES with and I came across a company called Gaming Bourse which was floating (when TES was in the 20's) at 10 times what TES was and the company was 3 years younger than TES.
This gave me the indication that either Gaming Bourse was 10 times overvalued or TES was 10 times undervalued or somewhere in the middle i.e. 5.
As I keep saying about Ranson, I really think this guy is the key in all of this... he realises that the company is undervalued by his placement of 1m shares at 21.5p and then quotes it is significantly undervalued. It wouldn't surprise me to see the share at a pound at some stage, thats how clever I think he is but obviously you have to leave a bit in it for the market don't you!!

Look guys, I am going to be honest with you, I predicted it to go up over the next 6 months or so to something like 70p, but what has happened over the past few days has been unbelievable, something I don't think I will ever see in a stock again.
I think there is an awesome story to be unveiled about this company and already people are speculating what it could be. I think with a cash rich business shell, there is absolutely no doubt it could go to the moon, but I truly think this price rise has been driven purely by massive shortage of stock (as I predicted) and speculation. I usually like to buy companies that have plenty of cash and I can work out fundamentally that they are undervalued.
With this company as we have seen, you never know what is round the next corner and with the erratic market making, it scares the crap out of me to be honest.
Don't be surprised to see it drop off 10 or 20p, I estimate that the mm is now long on stock now after the sells today.

TradingSports Exchange Systems shares extended their recent strong run,
adding another 9 pence to 49 amid speculation that former City dealer and
betting entrepreneur Terry Ramsden is to participate in the firm's planned
re-capitalisation.
TradingSports shares have leapt from a closing level of 15.5 pence on
Monday after group confirmed on Tuesday that it is currently reviewing
funding options.
The firm said then it has received offers of funding with a view to
re-capitalising the company to 'take it on to its next stages of growth'.
TradingSports said the offers received for funding are at a price of not
more than 15 pence per share, but rumours of Terry Ramsden's involvement
have sent the stock spiralling higher.
Ramsden has recently been involved in re-financing moves for two other
small cap firms, Leisureplay and Hansard Group, with shares in both having
spiked higher on the news.

hi guys been watching intently over last few days with you.
my feeling is as long as there is speculation that someone like terry ramsden with the rep he brings with him, will be investing in TES, the share price IMO should keep goin up, maybe not at the same crazy pace as of late, but never the less, still up.
leisureplay and hansard the two other small caps hes linked to are still moving higher.
so until either ramsden comes out and says he not buying into TES, OR the hansard or leisureplay shares are allocated to ramsden and then sold, at which point their respective shares will plummet, causing TES holders to panic sell, we should be ok.

Fair call peter... I predicted Ray Ranson would have something up his sleeve, but all the papers and reports suggest Ramsden is the fella that has been making the headlines. I should just exercise caution because anything can happen from here with the price now and I see it as a gamble.
I am a very cautious person (I showed this by selling out of asos at a cheaper price than most!!). This is probably because I finished uni (and was skint for most of it might I add!!) last year, so I know the value of money more now that I actually have some!!

Well done leg end.
Looks like you have another, but what drew youto it?
ramu, look at broker advarts to see who deal on the AIM index.
Most do, one or two do not.
Go to the Motely Fool at www.fool.co.uk who usually have a few who they are pushing, but the cross sections will help.
If not look at hoodless brennan, Hargreaves & Lansdown, etrade, to name but a few.
In nmaming them I do not give any accompanying recommnedation, as to me they are all as good as each other.

Guys,
I have detailed reasons for investing personally if anyone is interested.
The company has a market capitalisation of just 11.68 million at the time
of writing - share price 77.5p. Having raised 2 million net in May this
puts the enterprise value of the company at under 10 million.
Brewin Dolphin are forecasting operating cashflow of 2.85 million in the
next financial year. Having already beaten Brewin Dolphin's forecasts for
the last reported year this looks more than feasible and would leave the
shares trading on a p/e ratio of 5.1. For a growth company this is
exceptionally low by any standards.
Furthermore, the cash generated is to be utilised by acquiring brokers on
very sensible terms. The fear, as highlighted in Investors Chronicle's buy
recommendation last Friday, is that acquisitions must be found. However,
Monday's announcement eases this worry and on this basis I decided to buy
and believe that the shares are significantly undervalued.
It would be interesting to hear anyones thoughts on the stock. I think with the cash element it will be a lot safer than Tradingsports Exchange systems and I might actually be able to sleep easier at night!!

I am waiting to see how far it does go down first. In the medium to long term I really think that this share will do very very well. Yesterday all of terry ramsdens companies took a hammering after a very pesimistic article published about him. When I bought the share, I had absolutely no idea he was going to be involved with this company and it has slightly put me off, now he is involved.

what's happen for this company to fall so much in so little time?

All the companies Terry Ramsden has been involved with have completely fallen out of bed this past few weeks... Hansard, Leisureplay and not TES.
The reason for the fall is that so many new shares have been issued that it has diluted the other investors out. I really think if you hang in there, the shares will be good long term but they could easily drop to 10p just like that, thats why i am holding off a bit even though I think as they stand now they are undervalued... but it would be good to pick up some shares at 10p!! My main fear is that it could get taken private cheaply.
Hope this helps

Ramsden's return runs into trouble: Financier hurt by investors' failure to
deliver promised 10m: GUARDIAN
BYLINE: Neil Hume
BODY:
The City comeback of Terry Ramsden, the financier who was once one of
Britain's wealthiest men, looked to have hit difficulties yesterday as the
share prices of three Aim-listed companies in which he holds or plans to
take significant equity stakes all fell sharply.
Hansard Group, a City PR firm run by former stockbroker Adam Reynolds, fell
13.5p, or 32%, to 28p; Caplay, a cash shell, shed 4.87p to end at 5p;
TradingSports Exchange Systems, another shell company, dropped 6p to 15p.
The falls followed news released by Hansard after the market closed on
Tuesday night that three investors in a 10.65m share placing had failed to
come forward with the money they had pledged.
The fundraising will see Mr Ramsden emerge with a 10% holding in Hansard and
the proceeds will be used to acquire Holborn, a rival financial PR firm, and
Griffin Leisure, a property company owned by Mr Ramsden.
Griffin recently acquired 215 acres near the luxury Sandy Lane resort in
Barbados. Mr Ramsden is said to have snatched the site from under the noses
of Sandy Lane's owners - the Irish billionaires JP McManus and John Magnier
- and plans to build time-share apartments on the site.
It is not known who the three investors are or why they failed to deliver.
However, sources close to the deal stressed that Mr Ramsden was not one of
the three and there was no problem with the Barbados deal.
Hansard, which is changing its name to the Financial Development
Corporation, is expected to update the market on the progress of the placing
this morning and is likely to announce that it taking legal action against
the investors who failed to pay.
The son of a factory cleaner, Mr Ramsden shot to fame in the 1980s when he
made 150m in the Japanese warrants market.
At one point he was Britain's 57th richest man and used his fortune to
support a lavish lifestyle. He owned up to 100 thoroughbreds and thought
nothing of placing 1m bets. He also owned Walsall football club and had a
30% stake in Chelsea FC.
That all turned sour after the Japanese stock market crashed in 1987. A year
later his securities company, Glen International, collapsed with debts of
140m and Mr Ramsden was declared bankrupt.
In November 1993 he was charged with fraud for his trading activities at
Glen but escaped jail with a two-year suspended sentence. Five years later
Mr Rasmden was behind bars after being found guilty of hiding 300,000 from
his creditors.
Mr Ramsden made his City comeback in the summer when he announced plans to
take an 11% stake in Caplay, then called Leisureplay. He has increased his
holding to 14% and Caplay made a 500,000 investment in the private treaty
market, a system Mr Ramsden claims will revolutionise securities trading.
His plans for TradingSports Exchange Systems are not yet known but are
thought to include an internet betting site. A 4.5m fundraising led by Mr
Ramsden is due to close next week.

better news this morning
Daily Mail Newspaper :
Shares in Financial Development - the renamed Hansard Group - found good support, closing 4p higher at 32, after the company revealed it received subscription monies from investor Terry Ramsden with regard to its recently-announced 10.65m placing.
There were fears that Ramsden was one of the three investors which have dropped out of the placing.
Meanwhile shares in TradingSports Exchange Systems - another company in which Terry Ramsden is involved - got a boost from the Financial Development news, closing up 2 1/2p to 17 1/2p.
