A market would be a funny place if people only ever bought or didn't have different opinions?
I'm not trying to be inflammatory here, but recognise the need to have both view points.

Simple motive - being able to bet that the price will fall rather than always having to look for things to rise.
Don't forget, shorters don't always win and are very rarely the reason a price falls. Most shorters only join the rest of the sellers when a downtrend is established.
'Nuff said.

Are ther any consolidationists or sideways-tradingists in the room?
Mr Market welcomes rampers to be de-ramped and winder uppers to be unwound. Ahhhhhhhhhh, what a beautiful perfect system capitalism is!!

Rampers extract money from naive investors. In my opinion,99 per cent of the
people on the board are not ruthless and give honest opinions based on their
interpretation of information.

SH - indeed.
The market is a 2-way street as we know. Why not take advantage of it?
ajren - I do agree with post 14. Most people are honest in their opinions. Wher the trouble often lies is when some lose money. They then look for any excuse other than the truth, which is usually they made a bad trade or investment. We've all done it and should be honest with ourselves when we do. That's the only way to lasting success in this game.

We're all one big happy family really guys!
And besides this is all wonderful theatre! We're all just actors delivering our lines on the big stock market stage! Sometimes to rapturous applause, other times going down like a fart in a spacesuit. A tragedy some days, a comedy the next.

So any particular reason at putting that question to myself ajren?
Em let's see :
BGY : Been 150% up
CWV : Been 200% up
CFP : Been 150% up
AFG : Been 150% up
PMD : Been 150% up
MDW : Been 100% up
CDN : Been 45% up
oohh I say I must have incredible powers to have got those stocks to rise by that much in the last 6 months.

sh unless ppl see ppl comments as written in stone and belive everyones comments which novice investers sometimes do
now a few weeks ago you were all over the cfp thread like a rash aint seen you on it for a few weeks maybe ive missed you but i aint seen you imho this might be seen as a ramp up by some ppl
imho again cfp are an-upwards share in the future(not a ramp just an opinion)
but you can see sh how some ppl would read your posts as ramps when you are there constant then disapear when the share goes south
ps dont take this as a swipe at you just showing how some ppl might see it
personally i read then do my own research always but not everyone does the same

Well I think this has been a fascinating discussion...I would conclude that one can not be labelled as a ramper as long as he/she does not sell out...Even if the stock is up 150% or 200% he/she has to still hold the stock otherwise the moaners will accuse them of ramping.

In all seriousness, the best thing to do is not to worry about who is pushing what. Simply concentrate on what you believe to be good buys and sells. Don't get involved in all the BS. It gets in the way of making dosh.

Al,
As I see it, SueHelen highlighted a little piece of trash at 0.6p and simply mentioned that the price might go up. It did. In fact, it more than doubled. What's wrong with that?
Funnily enough, that "little piece of trash" had the epic CFP. Now had she identified them when they were 0.3p, she'd have made even more. Doubt that anybody here was that smart though.
