Cheers

hawick - 06 Jul 2004 16:46 - 13 of 107

Sutre - 06 Jul 2004 22:32 - 18 of 107

Ian

Have successfully accessed Level 2 trial but the registration process appears to have screwed up my MoneyAM account and I can no longer get access to the Terminal option. Thoughts please?

NickB - 06 Jul 2004 22:56 - 19 of 107

Getting fed up with ADVFN so looking for a new data feed.
Are there any trials for Terminal ?

Bullshare - 07 Jul 2004 07:34 - 20 of 107

Sutre and Nick B: I will make sure you both have terminal access with your trial.

Mike

hawick - 07 Jul 2004 08:35 - 21 of 107

Is L-2 down at mo or is my account messed up I seem to have gone from this code to winters promo or something?

Sutre - 07 Jul 2004 08:39 - 22 of 107

Bullshare

Just logged on and still cannot access Terminal. Like Hawick my account has been set to Winters Promo

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 09:03 - 23 of 107

Sutre,

Your accuont has been fixed and terminal has been added back to it, please log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.

NickB, I have temporatily upgraded your account, please log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.

Hawich,
Level2 is working fine, what symptoms are you getting? (grey screen for instance?)

J.

Sutre - 07 Jul 2004 09:26 - 24 of 107

J.

Thanks, all seems to be OK now.

hawick - 07 Jul 2004 09:29 - 25 of 107

Yep grey screen apart from top section. Still no joy!

jj50 - 07 Jul 2004 09:30 - 26 of 107

J. I am having same problem as Hawick. No response at all when I click the Level 2 button and shows Winter promo on my account details.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 09:33 - 27 of 107

hawick/jj50,

IS the same problem ocurring with any other streaming service - could you please do the following -

Could you log out of MoneyAM and then restart your pc go back to MoneyAM and then try again.

Please let me know how you get on.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 09:34 - 28 of 107

jj50,

When you say you get no response does a new browser open up and just show a grey screen, or do you not even get a new window? if it is the latter, could you tell me do you have any kind of Pop up blocker or ad blocker on the machine?

Ian

hawick - 07 Jul 2004 09:43 - 29 of 107

Success! thanks guys!

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 10:12 - 30 of 107

I am having the same problems as jj50 and hawick. No response when I click on Level 2. I do not get a new window or a grey screen. I have carried out a restart and removed my ad blocker. My account show Winters Promo. Still no joy!!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:17 - 31 of 107

bagnut - the account will show as winters under the promo that is correct.

It would seem that you are struggling to download the applet - can you try the following:

On the L2 screen can you force a refresh (Ctrl + F5) and see if this brings up the information. If this does not work, can you try another restart.

If this fails, can you let me know and I will E mail you with further instructions and setting changes in your PC that may be causing this.

Ian

jj50 - 07 Jul 2004 10:20 - 32 of 107

Brilliant! Now it is working but I have to enter via Sitemap, then click level 2 - I can't enter just by clicking on the Level 2 button - it gives no response. Try that bagnut! Thanks Ian.

hkfooey - 07 Jul 2004 10:26 - 33 of 107

Ian,

Signed up for this promo last night, this morning it's bugged up my terminal active subscription level - can you revert please.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:26 - 34 of 107

jj50,

you should be able to access through the correct button on the site - can you tell me do you ahve any ad blocking software, internet security/firewall installed as this may be what is causing the problem.

Ian

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 10:29 - 35 of 107

Ian, tried your suggestions, still not able to access Level 2 using the Level 2 button.
I am able to access via site map as suggested by jj50. Thanks jj50.

jj50 - 07 Jul 2004 10:31 - 36 of 107

Yes, I have pop up blocking but I disabled that. I also have Norton firewall and virus protection installed and download all the Windows updates. I am actually quite happy now that I can go through the Site Map. It is strange because all the other buttons respond but Level 2 just gets surrounded by a faint red box but then nothing happens - you can see I am a typical female technical whizz!!!

I am really enjoying the Level 2 - thank you - might decide to invest long term after the trial.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:32 - 37 of 107

Guys,

The L2 button works as a pop up - i.e. it will create a new pop up window for the L2. The site map will just link through to L2 on the original browser - this would indicate that either a firewall, pop up blocker or some form of ad blocker are stopping the pop from the L2 button from appearing.

Can you let me know if you have any such software installed or if you are behind a corporate firewall?

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:33 - 38 of 107

jj50,

There is an ad blocking part to Norton - have you disabled this as well?

Ian

jj50 - 07 Jul 2004 10:38 - 39 of 107

Ian, No. Shall try that.

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 10:47 - 40 of 107

Ian,
I have diabled my ad blocking thru Norton - still unable to access Level 2 via Level 2 button - I am now receiving runtime errors each time I access various options on Money am.

hilary - 07 Jul 2004 10:49 - 41 of 107

For you guys with ad blocking and/or Norton Wotsit on your pc's, try this link for L2 rather than the tab at the top of the page.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:49 - 42 of 107

bagnut,

can you re enable the ad blocking for now.

I will get the guys to see if they have any suggestions.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 10:50 - 43 of 107

Bagnut,

can you tell me if this is happening in any particular area of the site?

Ian

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 11:04 - 44 of 107

Ian,
It was happening each time I attempted to access Level 2 via the button, and when I accessed the Investors room.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 11:05 - 45 of 107

Bagnut - I will get JT to take a look.

Ian

Mr Euro - 07 Jul 2004 11:10 - 46 of 107

Just can't get the staff :-)

Hey Ian what about my free trial to get Shares mag tips emailed to me 24 hours before being published? Still waiting.

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 11:10 - 47 of 107

Ian,
I disabled my ad blocking thru Norton again to see which areas cause the runtime errors. I tried to access Stockwatch, Quotes, Portfolio, News, all of which created runtime errors. So I guess it would happen on all areas.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 11:13 - 48 of 107

Mr Euro :)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 11:14 - 49 of 107

bagnut,

Jt just having a think about this - will reply shortly.

Ian

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 11:15 - 50 of 107

bagnut,

what runtime errors are you getting? they should provide details of where it is going wrong in the error box.

thanks,
J.

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 11:20 - 51 of 107

J,
I am receiving Line errors, to many to list.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 11:26 - 52 of 107

bagnut,

could you take a screen shot of this and mail it to me so I can pass it onto JT?

ian@moneyam.com

thanks

Ian

MillionDollarMan - 07 Jul 2004 12:37 - 53 of 107

If I use the promo will it be free up until the 13th of July and will you automatically bill me if I don't cancel it? or Will it just expire and nothing more shall be said?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 12:39 - 54 of 107

Million,

If you use the promo, it will just expire and you will return to your normal account and you will not be charged for this promo.

Hope this helps.

Ian

MillionDollarMan - 07 Jul 2004 12:44 - 55 of 107

Thanks for your quick reply Ian! Much appreciated.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 13:33 - 56 of 107

bagnut,

can you please delete all the files in your cache by doing:
Tools menu/Internet Options/Delete files (you do *not* need to delete cookies!)

then restart the browser and start again.

We think you have a corrupt page in your cache for the investors room which is displaying those javascript errors.

Please let me know,
J.

Orrill - 07 Jul 2004 14:12 - 57 of 107

Fantastic offer, but I must think twice. I live in the sticks and my web connection struggles to reach 36K. When will broadband arrive? Can I spread bet this?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 07 Jul 2004 14:16 - 58 of 107

Orril,

Why not give it a go - if it does slow down your machine due to your connection you do not have to use the extra functions, and your account will return to its present level in 7 days.

Ian

Orrill - 07 Jul 2004 16:34 - 59 of 107

Good point. Think I will give this a go.

Thanks

bagnut - 07 Jul 2004 16:38 - 60 of 107

J,
I have carried out your suggestion with no luck. I would like to confirm that when I disable my ad blocking thru Norton I am getting runtime errors for all areas of Money am, including when I log on, not just for the investors room.

NickB - 07 Jul 2004 16:39 - 61 of 107

I like 'Terminal' L2 etc sadly i am on a sick PC (new!) so had a few crashes that seem Jarva/display related but thats my problem !

1 On Terminal i didnt seem to have an option to have a window showing rises/fallers etc

2 it would have been nice to be able to customise the graph in terminal like you can on the main graph page

Otherwise looking good

Thanks

IBM mouse balls
This was a real memo sent out by a computer company (IBM) to its employees in all seriousness. It went to all field engineers regarding a computer peripheral problem. The author of this memo was quite genuine. The engineers rolled on the floor! Especially note the last couple of sentences...
-----------------------
To: Whom this may concern
Re: Replacement of mouse balls
If a mouse fails to operate or should it perform erratically, it may need a ball replacement.
Mouse balls are now available as FRU (Field Replacement Units). Because of the delicate nature of this procedure, replacement of mouse balls should only be attempted by properly trained personnel.
Before proceeding, determine the type of mouse balls by examining the underside of the mouse. Domestic balls will be larger and harder than foreign balls. Ball removal procedures differ depending upon the manufacturer of the mouse. Foreign balls can be replaced using the pop off method.
Domestic balls are replaced by using the twist off method.. Mouse balls are not usually static sensitive. However, excessive handling can result in sudden discharge.
Upon completion of ball replacement, the mouse may be used immediately. It is recommended that each person have a pair of spare balls for maintaining optimum customer satisfaction.
Any customer missing his balls should contact the local personnel in charge of removing and replacing these necessary items.
Please keep in mind that a customer without properly working balls is an unhappy customer

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 07:17 - 63 of 107

BAgnut,

We have your E mail in the office now and will take a look at it this morning to see if we can get you up and running.

NickB,

IN answer to your questions,

1. If there is no preset option to place something in a terminal window, you can select URL under content and then enter the web address you want - this also applies if you wish to have something from another site displayed in there.

2. There is a certain amount of customisability for the charts - i.e. you can pick the period, size and whether it is line bar or candle - we have tried to put the main things in their for monitoring.

Ian

NickB - 08 Jul 2004 10:05 - 64 of 107

ian thanks, having played with it a bit more i can now see its very customisable.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 10:07 - 65 of 107

Nick,

Yes it is very customisable if you have any specific questions, please let me know

ian@moneyam.com

Thanks

CHAPS,
Can't access unstreamed stockwatch since I registered for the trial, message says my subscription doesn't cover it, with streaming on get message java applet failed, so I am screwed at moment!

Regards
SC

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 12:29 - 68 of 107

SC,

I will get the boys to takle a look into this but in the meantime, could you try and force a refresh on the streaming prices (Ctrl + F5)

Regards

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 12:31 - 69 of 107

SC,

If you log out and log back in you should now be able to access the non streaming stockwatch again - can you let me know whether the refresh cured the streaming problem?

Ian

STORMCALLER - 08 Jul 2004 13:06 - 70 of 107

Ian,
Thanks for fixing the non-streaming, that was main problem. Don't know why streaming dowesn't work, could it be company firewall ?

These are messages I get, this one is in middle of window:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.deltastream.applet.stock.StockApplet.class

This one in bar at bottom of screen:
load: class com.deltastream.applet.stock.StockApplet.class not found

ctrl F5 results in this message: Loading Java Applet …

I am running IE5.5

So if there is a way to get it working that would be great, but I am not expecting miracles
Regards
SC

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 13:07 - 71 of 107

SC,

If you are behind a company firewall, this is most likely the cause of the problem.

You would need to speak to your system administrator to see if this could be allowed through.

Ian

STORMCALLER - 08 Jul 2004 13:11 - 72 of 107

IAN,
I suspected, that may be the case, and I don't think they will do that for me, I think dismissal is more likely...
As I said before, the main problem was being unable to see non-streaming Stockwatch and that is now fixed, thank you.

Regards
SC

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 13:12 - 73 of 107

No problem SC.

Can you tell me if level works on a mac running panther. It keeps causing my browser (Safari or Mozilla) to quit when level 2 selected. Both browser work ok with live stream on stockwatch. Is it my computer of is my operating system not compatible with youe level 2 feed

regards

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 14:10 - 75 of 107

slmchow,

Level 2 and all of the MoneyAM site was designed to work both on PC and Mac and with different browsers. To help you, Level 2 works as a pop up, so I do not know whether something on your system is causing your browser to crash due to this.

Ian

Big Al - 08 Jul 2004 14:36 - 76 of 107

When is Level 4 out?

;-))

slmchow - 08 Jul 2004 15:45 - 77 of 107

Ian

Thanks but it was not the pop-ups tried it and nothing doing. It must be something with Safari or Mozilla. I just downloaded Netscape 7 and Level 2 works fine with it

Regards

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 15:50 - 78 of 107

slmchow,

Glad to see you are up and running it should work with safari and mozilla. We will have a think about this.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jul 2004 16:21 - 79 of 107

slmchow,

HAve spoken to some of my colleagues who use Safari on a Mac, and they have suggested that you take a look to make sure that JavaScript is enabled.

it's in Safari -> Preferences -> Security and the Enable JavaScript box needs to be checked

Thanks

Ian

Does lev 2 not work outside business hours, tried to get on and button doesn't work at all, or is this related to what you did re post 66??
Reason I ask is that although I cannot use streaming from work, can from home, wanted to look at trial on monday when I will be at home.
At this moment, when I hover cursor over lev 2 button get nothing in bottom bar of window
Thanks
SC

crystalclear - 09 Jul 2004 00:27 - 81 of 107

I am using the Google toolbar extensions on Internet Explorer.

I tried the MoneyAM TERMINAL stuff when it was free in the past, and will subscribe when I need it. (It is good and superior to what I've seen elsewhere.) I had level 2 with a rival company and with just a few market makers always quoting the same number of shares for sale, it wasn't too worthwhile when I started my current buy-and-HOLD HOLD period.

I don't like advertisment popups, hence my Google popup blocker.

My PC is stable, apart from: a shortage of disk space and a blown second screen after lightening struck. I've got more to lose than gain by trying this if its pop-up based.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jul 2004 06:49 - 82 of 107

SC,

The Level 2 system should still be accessable after hours, do you have any of the software mentioned in some of my previous posts and suggestions on this thread?

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jul 2004 06:50 - 83 of 107

Crystal,

I understand you concerns, but if the google toolbar is the only form of Pop up blocker you have installed, then this may not cause a problem as I understand that because you are 'requesting' the level 2 pop up it does not disallow it.

Please feel free to try the trial and if it does cause you porblems we would be more than happy to help.

Ian

STORMCALLER - 09 Jul 2004 08:46 - 84 of 107

IanT,
Believe it is only main button that doesn't work. jj50 suggested using Site Map route to access it, and that seems to work ok.
Regards
SC

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jul 2004 08:50 - 85 of 107

SC,

This would be caused as the L2 main button works as a pop up whereas the link in site map presents level 2 into your original browser. Do you have ad blocking or pop blocking in any internet security you may be running enabled - if so it may be worth while diabling this.

Ian

STORMCALLER - 09 Jul 2004 09:21 - 86 of 107

IanT,
Good idea, believe my Norton does have blocking, installed it and didn't mess with it much, so if that is the default setting, which I believe it is, you may have the answer, cannot check now until I get home (late) tonight.
Thank you for that
Regards
