cigars and champagne (MAX)

proptrade - 17 Jan 2005 11:52

as promised a new epic for my new son.

This thread is intended for comments not always associated with stocks but general tips and banter to take our minds off the dull days and avert our eyes away from a dodgy p&l on the latest hot stock.

recipes, holidays and restaurant suggestions welcome and please feel free to mention footie, tv, films, forex, big brother, mortgage suggestions, croatian property prices, rental discounts, stock holder benefits, morning news and morning glory.

playful comments for 2005. keep it clean. enjoy.

regards
PT and family

Spurs for the F.A. cup, why not. Do I take it that the little fella is going to be called MAX.

MS

proptrade - 17 Jan 2005 13:10 - 3 of 44

well lets put it this way i won't be buying the stock with that mneumonic!

i wanted to opt for Maximillian but the wife used the old veto. can't understand why....

Spurs for the fa cup. you are having a larrrrrfe. loved the article in the news today saying that white hart lane should be renanmed coronation st after arsenal winning there last year and chelsea more of less securing the title this year!

mickeyskint - 17 Jan 2005 16:29 - 4 of 44

Check out DGM

Prop,

Congratulations to you and Mrs Prop on the birth of your son! I hope mother and baby are both healthy and doing well. I'm sure you are all absolutely knackered but totally elated. I wish you and the family all the very best. Can see why the wife vetoed the maximillian idea!

Interesting thread. As far as food goes, pork is in the oven roasting nicely, to be served with roast potatoes, carrots and peas.

All the best once again.

Cheers

Gav

Home made Tandoori Chicken for me tonight. It's bound to be good, I made it. It's been marinating in lovely spices and yogurt since yesterday.

sandrew64 - 17 Jan 2005 16:54 - 7 of 44

jemadi - 17 Jan 2005 16:58 - 8 of 44

Golddog - 17 Jan 2005 22:59 - 11 of 44

I will have a glass of champers please and a cigar. A cigar bigger than johns will do. (what a horrible man)
:-)

snakey - 17 Jan 2005 23:08 - 12 of 44

But Golddog, they`ve voted off the only `character` and wind up merchant on the prog. the remaining days will be a lot poorer for the loss of the beast.

Golddog - 17 Jan 2005 23:11 - 13 of 44

yes i thought he might of lasted a little longer. His silent treatment was very funny. He is not fully right in the head.

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 12:03 - 14 of 44

cheers for those words Gavdfc.

John was great value and i would have loved to see him stay a while if only to infuriate him! i have to say i don't have a great opinion on the remaining cast but for some reason cannot stand Lisa.

gavdfc - 18 Jan 2005 12:23 - 15 of 44

Hope the sleepless nights arn't too bad Prop. All part of the fun I guess!

John certainly had an opinion on things, as did people on him! Certainly knew how to wind Caprice up.

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 12:31 - 16 of 44

well they are pretty sleepless right now and we make get a night nurse if it stays this way.

the problem with captice is that she seems to be so fake. now don't get me wrong, she is a great looking girl but for some reason comes over as really calculating

mickeyskint - 18 Jan 2005 12:43 - 17 of 44

My Mother in Law is exactly the same only she's ugly.

MS

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 12:46 - 18 of 44

does she have an underwear range?

mickeyskint - 18 Jan 2005 12:49 - 19 of 44

Yes it's very large and pink.

MS

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 12:54 - 20 of 44

do you have nightmares about the fact that you know what it looks like?

mickeyskint - 18 Jan 2005 13:14 - 21 of 44

Jemadi

Tandoori Chicken.

Ingredients.

6 chicken thights
4 Tbsp plain yogurt
1/2 inch crushed fresh ginger
3 cloves garlic crushed
3 chillies ground
1/2 tps cardamom
1 & 1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pepper
paprika (to colour)

1. Using a sharp knife slice 3-4 slashes across each of the chicken pieces and remove the skin.
2. In a large bowl mix together the chicken and all the ingredients, except the yogurt, getting well into the cuts.
3. Add the yogurt to the marinated chicken mixing throughly. Cover and marinate in the fridge overnight if possible 24 hours.
4. Preheat the oven to 230C/Gas 8.
5. Place the marinated chicken on a rack in a roasting tray. Roast on the top shelf for 25 minutes, turning halfway through, untill the chicken is cooked through. It might need basting with oil if you want.

If you don't like it too hot cut back on the chillies. If you prefer grill for 30 minutes to give that barbecue flavour.

Enjoy

sandrew64 - 18 Jan 2005 13:18 - 22 of 44

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 14:46 - 26 of 44

has anyone done the su doku number puzzle in the times (back page of T2)? a nice diversion when things get dull

snakey - 18 Jan 2005 22:29 - 27 of 44

mickeyskint, excuse me naivety in culinary matters, but can you do similar with a decent steak ???

proptrade - 19 Jan 2005 10:52 - 28 of 44

i need a great stock idea to make a few hundred thousand...any thoughts?

mickeyskint - 19 Jan 2005 17:08 - 29 of 44

Snakey I don't think it would work with steak as the cooking times are different and might dry out, but try it that's what good cooking is all about.

Prop, we all want one of them. I like the look of and have gone for DGM as one of my 2005 plays. I also think HMY will increase by 1 at least and SEY will start to happen. If you fancy a bit of a risk I think DES could well make some people very happy.

LOL

gavdfc - 19 Jan 2005 17:18 - 30 of 44

How about Exeter to beat Man U at 16/1 tonight! ;-) Or Bez to win big Brother at 7/1!

Mickey, that was a nice recipe. Would maybe work with lamb, tasty!

proptrade - 20 Jan 2005 22:59 - 31 of 44

so happy Lisa left the house. how annoying was she!

Baby keeping me up all hours. might trade some aussies tonight....i look at the majors but for some fun there is a lovely little gold stock called Austminex (ATX) and also a small gas exploration stock called Golden Gate (GGP). held for a while and just have a very strong fancy for them. take a look and views would be welcome!

Golddog - 20 Jan 2005 23:04 - 32 of 44

yes she was! and the young kid in the egg costume made me laugh!!

proptrade - 21 Jan 2005 10:10 - 33 of 44

the thing that makes me laugh about the young guy is that he is meant to be this hard, street cred rapper but he comes over as a polite respectful considerate person. good luck to him.
kick up jeremy and caprice..way way too full of themselves.

proptrade - 25 Jan 2005 13:30 - 34 of 44

can't believe Bez won. what a kind of message does that send out!

Golddog - 26 Jan 2005 13:11 - 35 of 44

On reflection i don't think anyone deserved to win, maybe stallone mother!

proptrade - 26 Jan 2005 14:03 - 36 of 44

Golddog - 26 Jan 2005 23:38 - 37 of 44

and the tax bill is rather large to!!

just joking.

snoball - 27 Jan 2005 00:25 - 38 of 44

Is this the new cafe?

proptrade - 27 Jan 2005 10:06 - 39 of 44

its whatever you want it to be. i just started it for a bit of light hearted banter and observations and some stock chat if one is so inclined!

lets not call it the cafe. lets just say it is a cross between a wine bar and a pub or anywhere where we can have a laugh or generate some serious conversation. its great to have a thread like this on the quiet days.

Andy - 20 Dec 2007 09:36 - 40 of 44
