I read about this one in the IC yesterday. It looks very interesting, I will keep an eye on it and pile when the current run comes to an end.

Tallsiii

wilbs - 18 Apr 2005 10:58 - 3 of 109

Down 9.09%. Gonna keep a close eye on this. Its not like the typical new floats that rocket on day of float.

I was going to paste the chart to this bb but the chart displayed for this epic scr shows a chart for securicor. Can this be fixed????

mbugger - 13 Jul 2005 19:46 - 4 of 109

Not up to par with scr, but was there a consolidation at some stage , sp over ayear zooms from120 to 9or 10,any ideas wilbs.

seawallwalker - 01 Sep 2005 08:28 - 5 of 109

Had some of these on a speculative punt this am.

Seems that someone is shoving loads of money at the Danfeng Cu/Mo/Fe Project site

guru11 - 01 Sep 2005 08:57 - 6 of 109

Been looking at these - all blue yesterday and again today.
Could be worth as seawallwalker say a punt.
And there is good liquidity in the stock being able to buy or sell a reasonable amount.

seawallwalker - 01 Sep 2005 15:10 - 7 of 109

..............buy.

But keep it reasonable.

Look before you leap....................

From Shares 18/8/2005

"Exploration junkies with a bullish view on moly may be attracted by South China

Some big buys today.

Something coming?

seawallwalker - 22 Sep 2005 14:00 - 10 of 109

Nice 6% plus rise, no news can only be the up and coming China Mining presentation?

doughboy66 - 22 Sep 2005 14:09 - 11 of 109

seawallwalker i had a small punt on these after your post on 1st Sept ,i must admit i am not a big fan of mining stocks as they are so speculative but this one seemed quite good with the recent stake taken by Majedie Investements on the 1st Sept.
Also the executive chairman bought 200,000 @ 10p each on 18th July, so fingers crossed.
Good volumes of buys today and a nice tick up.
DB66

seawallwalker - 22 Sep 2005 14:28 - 12 of 109

I can not say that I have any deep knowledge but I'm happy.

Everything looks about right.

seawallwalker - 22 Sep 2005 16:28 - 13 of 109

Nearly 10% up today which is very good.

Is this a breakout???

Consolidation here would be good.

seawallwalker - 22 Sep 2005 16:37 - 14 of 109

Some consolidation, over 10% now for the day.

New ground from here I think.

Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Good night all.

seawallwalker - 22 Sep 2005 16:39 - 15 of 109

wilbs - you normally have a go at these stocks, did you this time?

I hope so.

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2005 08:14 - 16 of 109

Good start to todays trading.

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2005 08:25 - 17 of 109

Big spread opened for the first time in weeks.

Only guarantees I won't sell.

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2005 11:43 - 18 of 109

Again lots of buys, looking like a similar pattern will emerge today, compared to yesterday

doughboy66 - 23 Sep 2005 11:55 - 19 of 109

I was just about to post with regards buying volumes.
I bought into China Wonder 3 days ago and they had a big rise yesterday, maybe we are going through one of those cycles where any stock with the word China in is attracting buyers.
DB66

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2005 12:04 - 20 of 109

Quite likely imo.

No other explanation comes to mind.

doughboy66 - 09 Jan 2006 09:44 - 21 of 109

This seems to be on the move again,i have pasted a rather bullish piece from the final results .
Any thoughts anyone? does this sound to good?

As a result the potential mineralised footprint of the Danfeng Project, has now
increased in area substantially.

In addition to increasing the resource target area at the Danfeng project,
Southern Geoscience Consultants identified a further 6 anomalies proximal to
Danfeng and on the licence area that exhibit similar geophysical properties to
the Danfeng deposit.

Company geologists have been dispatched to several of these anomalies and
numerous zones of out-cropping copper mineralization were discovered and
subsequently sampled via trenching.

The Directors anticipate that 2005-2006 will be another year of rapid growth for
the Company as resource definition work at Danfeng continues. Furthermore the
Company is currently evaluating a host of other opportunities that may have
potential to add significant value to the Danfeng Project and the Company as a
whole.

The Company intends to accelerate these negotiations in 2005-2006 whilst being
careful to apply the same stringent investment risk criteria that was applied to
the initial Danfeng project investment.

I thank, on your behalf, our joint venture partners, nominated adviser,
solicitors, accountants and geological advisers for their hard work and support
during this period under review.

Finally, on behalf of the Board, I thank shareholders for the trust and
confidence they have placed in us.

Immediately, I am hoping for a double bag and then maybe I will trim a few off the top.

Stay well.

25 January 2006

25th January 2006

South China Resources plc (AIM: SCR)

THREE SIGNIFICANT NEW DISCOVERIES AT DANFENG

Copper Ridge, an area of previously unknown Copper-Zinc-Silver-Molybdenum
mineralisation has been discovered approximately 600m SE of the main
Danfeng project and within the existing licence area.

The Company is particularly excited by this discovery as it may have a
significant impact upon the project economics of the proposed development
at Danfeng. Outcropping mineralisation at Copper Ridge has thus far been
mapped over a significant strike length. Two drill pads are currently under
construction with a view to testing the geometry of this mineralisation.

Outcropping mineralisation at Copper Ridge has been sampled and tested
at a local facility. Copper grades in excess of 3.2%, Zinc grades in excess
of 8.0%, Molybdenum grades in excess of 0.53% and silver grades in excess
of 23 g/pt have been returned.

In addition, the Company has also discovered a significant, potentially
high-grade Molybdenum-Lead,-Zinc-Silver mineralised aureole surrounding
the previously identified 6mt Copper, Molybdenum, Iron "core resource area"
the Company has focused its efforts on to date. This additional
mineralisation will now become part of the overall Danfeng target of the
first phase drilling programme.

Company geologists now believe that high-grade Molybdenite veins, such
as those observed in the Company's underground exploration adits beneath
Danfeng, may extend over a much larger area than first thought.

Detailed analysis of 3D geophysics has been completed by Southern
Geoscience Consultants of Western Australia and the high-tenor magnetic
response at Danfeng has now been mapped to a depth of over 500m. Historical
drilling terminated arbitrarily at 120m. Whilst the nature of these
geophysical anomalies is as yet unknown, the Company now intends to
undertake a phase of deep drilling to test for potentially significant
depth extensions to mineralisation at Danfeng.

SCR has picked up today, anyone know of any expected news??

silvermede - 31 Mar 2006 10:38 - 35 of 109

Interim Statement today makes interesting reading as this company has significant potential upside in the Copper/Moly resource at the Danfeng Project and in negotiation to obtain other opportunities. 24 Hr drilling to establish the JORC resource. Situated in China as is GFM with a strong in-country team. Looking good.

WINSORSMYTHE - 07 Apr 2006 09:15 - 36 of 109

Is there any relationship between GFM and SCR?

silvermede - 07 Apr 2006 09:23 - 37 of 109

Not that I know of. It just struck me that they are in a similar situation, both exploration/mining companies actually in China and working closely with the Chinese. China is one of the factors that is driving the Resource Sector boom. I'm in GFM too and I believe it has great prospects. But WDIK. DYOR. :-)

kaysmart - 07 Apr 2006 10:22 - 38 of 109

I got in after reading about this agreemnt - LANDMARK COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH CENTRAL GOVERNMENT MINERAL RESOURCES BUREAU.http://moneyam.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin/articles/200604050700300022B.html

I think this is an excellent agreement, it has certainly increased SCR's potential to discover precious metal many folds.

Some people may take this as a ramp but I honestly belive SCR will do what AEX has and is doing in the oil sector. With institutions buying into both companies I am happy to hold for longterm. Mining & oil is the sector to be IN for the next few years. Please DYOR.

lanayel - 07 Apr 2006 11:18 - 39 of 109

http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/06042006/214/south-china-resources-rallies-isoft-sinks.html

The deal with the Xi'an Institute for Geology and Mineral Resources will cover 206.73km2 that includes the Lingkou copper-molybdenum region.

The Lingkou area comprises four separate coincident copper-molybdenum anomalies recently discovered by the Institute across the highly prospective belt.

"This is the first time a foreign mining company and the Chinese Central Government Geological Bureau have cooperated at this level," said managing director of South China Resources Steve Leithead.

"It establishes a unique platform from which South China Resources can establish itself as a leading foreign developer of base metals projects within China."

This could turn into something very special.

Just been alerted to the potential in scr.I intend to do my own limited research before commiting.
If any-one has the time and inclination could they briefly give me their views
of its potential pros.cons etc., bullet points.
Having been quiet dependent on the prospects of KMR.for some time i feel the time is right to diversify into futher mining potential plays.
Any response is appreciated.

lanayel - 10 Apr 2006 09:25 - 42 of 109

Hi Robert
No tips at the weekend AFAIAA.
Just solid buying.
Yet another record on the copper price has meant that investors are looking wherever possible for the next jewel in the sector.
Amongst the minnows this one stands out as one with great potential.
In theory there should be some profit taking at some stage - the problem is deciding whether it will be from this level or a far higher level.
It's a difficult call when you are trying to get in.

Alex

kaysmart - 10 Apr 2006 11:54 - 44 of 109

Hi Robert,

There is no harm on taking some profit at that kind of margin, but I didn't have the guts to do that incase I could not buy it back. I expect it to be one of the best miners in China. I am holding for longterm and decided to top up again when it dropped a bit from 29p.
Have a look at GGG, another Chinese miners its going mad. There is an RNS out, people are realising that it would do the same as SCR. Both companies are good long term investment as China's economy grows IMO.

robertalexander - 10 Apr 2006 13:18 - 45 of 109

Thanks Kay,
just saw GGG thread and was looking into it. I am in now. I believe it may be worth a punt alongside SCR.

Another intersting link on the prospect of this company:

LONDON (ResourceInvestor.com) -- South China Resources [AIM:SCR] has been doing a great job so far in developing towards production its Danfeng copper-molybdenum project in Chinas Shaanxi province, but has now done a deal with the Xian Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources (XIGM) that as well as being the first of its kind, materially enhances SCRs investment proposition.

Grant of Licences

RNS Number:6288F
South China Resources PLC
04 July 2006

South China Resources PLC

Grant of Business Licence and Issuance of Exploration Licence to

Joint Venture Company for the Danfeng Project, China

South China Resources PLC ("South China Resources" or "the Company") is pleased
to announce that its Joint Venture Company, the Shang Luo City Zhongbei Minerals
and Metal Development Company Limited ("the Joint Venture Company"), has
received both the Business Licence and the new Exploration Licence required to
progress the development of the Danfeng Copper Molybdenum Project ("Danfeng" or
"the Project"), the Company's flagship project situated in Shaanxi Province,
China.

South China Resources currently holds a 70% beneficial interest in the Joint
Venture Company and has three appointed Board Members. The Shaanxi Zhongbei
Mining Development Company Limited ("the Joint Venture Partner") currently holds
the remaining 30% of the beneficial interest in the Joint Venture Company and
has one member on the Board.

South China Resources received a Business Licence for the Joint Venture Company
on the 15th June 2006 and this is valid for twenty years. Following the issue of
the Business License, Exploration Licence number 6100000520002 previously only
in the name of the Joint Venture Partners has now been wholly re-issued by the
Ministry of Land and Resources in the name of the Joint Venture Company and now
carries Exploration Licence number 6100000620233. The new Exploration Licence
comprises the entire 10.6km(2) of the previous licence and encompasses the area
containing the high grade Danfeng Project.

South China Resources has now completed all procedural matters that are required
following the establishment of a Joint Venture Company in China.

Mr Steve Leithead, Managing Director of South China Resources, said from the
Company's Head Office in Xi'an - "This is a highly significant event for the
Company as we now have all the required permitting in place to allow us to
progress our Development Plans for Danfeng. We have received unanimous support
from the Mayoral Offices of Xi'an City, Shang Lou City and the Government of
Shaanxi Province. We look forward to a prosperous relationship with our Joint
Venture Partners, and re-affirm our commitment to working with the Government of
Shaanxi Province to develop an environmentally responsible, safe and
technology-focussed mining industry for the mutual benefit of Shareholders and
the people of Shaanxi Province."

To support on-going exploration and development activities at Danfeng, the Joint
Venture Partner has received its Forestry Permit from the Forestry Bureau. This
allows for ground disturbing activities to be undertaken in accordance with its
issuance and will further allow for an acceleration of development activities at
Danfeng.

Furthermore the Joint Venture Company has awarded the Xi'an Nuclear Industry
Geological Survey Institute ("Shaanxi Nuclear Institute") a contract to provide
technical support to the Danfeng Project.

The Shaanxi Nuclear Institute will be required to provide all documents relevant
to any Exploration Licence extension and/or conversion to a Mining Licence. To
this end the Shaanxi Nuclear Institute has already completed preliminary works
at Danfeng to commence the documentation and compilation of an Approved
Development Plan. This is part of a longer term approvals process that will be
required if and when a commercially viable mining project can be established at
Danfeng.

The Company intends to update the market on progress at the Danfeng Project in
the coming months once a full independent review currently being undertaken by a
leading Independent Geological Consultancy has been completed.

Notes to Editors:

South China Resources Plc is focussed on the acquisition and development of
mining assets in China. The Company believes that the opportunities available in
China are outstanding and that the next phase of the China-led commodities story
will be driven by companies operating in country, especially as China has huge
mineral wealth, but is still relatively unexplored. The Company's most advanced
project is the Danfeng Copper Molybdenum Project which is situated in Shaanxi
province.

The Danfeng Project is a medium tonnage, comparatively high-grade, mineralised
skarn porphyry related system, previously drilled, bulk sampled and defined by
Chinese exploration efforts and Copper Developments Pty Ltd. Drilling is
underway to take the previously reported resource to JORC standards. The near
surface mineralisation is ultra-high-grade, with molybdenum grades regularly in
excess of 3% and Copper grades regularly in excess of 4%. These molybdenum
grades are 20 times higher than the global mined average.

South China Resources also has a strategic landmark agreement in place with the
Xi'an Institute for Geology and Mineral Resources to evaluate a 206.73km2 area
which includes the Lingkou copper-molybdenum region in Luonan County, Shaanxi
Province.

South China Resources plc
("South China Resources" or "the Company")

Appointment of Mario Vazquez as Executive Director

South China Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mario Vazquez
to the Board as Executive Director of the Company.

Mr Vazquez (50) joins the Board of South China Resources having resigned
yesterday in Tokyo as Director of Business Development for Mitsubishi
International Corporation, Japan's largest general trading company with over 200
bases of operations in approximately 80 countries worldwide.

At Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr Vazquez operated out of both the Tokyo and Houston
offices and was responsible for the global strategic direction of a business
development team with projects across the mining sector. He was co-leader of a
task force charged with evaluating corporate investments in the mining sector,
including the potential for direct investment in contract mining and energy
projects in China.

Mr Vazquez is a Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration and a
Member of the American Management Association. He holds dual US and Uruguayan
Citizenship.

Prior to working with Mitsubishi, Mr Vazquez held a number of senior positions
including President and General Manager of Ameco Argentina, Inc, a subsidiary of
Flour Corporation. The role involved transitioning this heavy equipment supplier
business from project inception to commercial operations.

Alastair Clayton, Executive Chairman of South China Resources, said from London:

"We are delighted to be able to secure a person of Mr Vazquez's global reach and
his experience will be of great value to the Company going forward. The Board
believes the ability of South China Resources to continually attract such
business talent is a further endorsement of the Company's business plan in China
and the track record of our in-country management team to date."

Initially Mr Vazquez will remain based in Houston and commute to China and the
UK, however in the longer-term he shall relocate to a location closer to the
Company's centre of business opportunity.

Mario Vazquez commented from Tokyo today:

"I am very excited to be joining the Board of South China Resources. I first
encountered the Company in my role as Director of Business Development when
looking for investment opportunities for Mitsubishi Corporation in China. I
reviewed South China's existing asset base, project pipeline and business plan
and it became clear I shared the conviction held by the Board and Senior
Management that outstanding opportunities exist for mining and development in
China.

"Having managed direct investment for Mitsubishi in very large Copper/Molybdenum
Projects in South America and elsewhere in the world I am familiar with the
issues associated with major mining projects of the type South China is seeking
to develop and therefore feel that I can therefore bring much to the Company.

"Given South China Resources' enviable position as the sole foreign mining
company based in Shaanxi, arguably the premier province for mining investment in
China, there is the opportunity to participate in a host of base metal projects
in a country where the major mining houses have been slow to gain a foothold."

garymegson - 23 Jul 2006 12:08 - 59 of 109

Sunday Telegraph Tip:

South China Resources listed on Aim in April last year at 5p and has since risen to today's price of 23p.

The company deliberately came to the market with a low valuation, aware that investors would factor in a level of risk associated with China.

However, it is worth noting that the directors' options do not kick in until 35p and 40p, demonstrating the management's belief in the company's potential.

SCR has spent several years successfully negotiating the legal and regulatory framework necessary to operate in China. This approach has paid off - it recently said it was close to achieving permission for a project to develop a small but high-grade copper and molybdenum mine in the Shaanxi province in central China.

By bringing this project into production SCR hopes to prove its ability to operate in China and it could pick up further copper and molyb-denum projects in the region.

It recently struck a deal with the Xi'an Institute of Geology & Mineral Resour-ces, the Chinese government's geological body responsible for all five western provinces, to jointly evaluate at least four significant copper-molybdenum systems recently discovered by the institute.

This looks promising and we rate the shares a buy.

Contract drill rigs are now drilling along Brigade Line 17 where previous drill
programmes in the 1970's encountered significant mineralisation in the North
East and Central sections of the licence area ('the North East Zone')

Alastair Clayton, Chairman of South China Resources said from London - 'The
recent discoveries in the South West Zone, an area of previously unknown
mineralisation are highly encouraging. Significant widths of high and in some
cases, very high grade copper mineralisation clearly fit in with our development
plans at Danfeng where a selective, shallow-underground development using
horizontal drives into the mountain hosting mineralisation could leverage very
strongly off a low-cost mining and processing environment.

'We are very pleased with the consistency with which the company geologists are
reporting an increasing abundance of copper and molybdenum sulphide minerals in
drill core. We are continuing to work on the challenges associated with
providing accurate and representative molybdenum assay data to shareholders and
we look forward to releasing the results of this study as soon as all data has
been evaluated.'

announcement and the RNS dated 22 September 2006 can be viewed on the company

With funding now in place, why is this SP still falling like a stone. Is it likely to fall to the placement price of 5p. This is now high on my watch list because of the percentage drop over recent weeks. During 2007 this should increase at least fourfold maybe more depending on where it finishes.

seawallwalker - 19 Dec 2006 11:41 - 67 of 109

I am still looking for thre trend change and there is no sign of it.

oilyrag - 19 Dec 2006 12:06 - 68 of 109

I missed the boat 9 months ago, I'm not going to miss it this time. 2006 saw 8p to 28p and back, so anything below 8p would be a bargain.

seawallwalker - 19 Dec 2006 12:20 - 69 of 109

oilyrag I have been doing a little research, have you kept up with this?

I didn't, but there are some valueable posts on TMF worth reading.

This is the first thread

This is a thread so read it top to bottom.

This none is the most informative.

oilyrag - 19 Dec 2006 14:42 - 70 of 109

Thanks very much SWW. I have read most of these threads and found them to be very informative. The last one I found, although long winded, very well put over.

Well like you I am looking to come in, but now I will want to be reassured all is well.

Uptrend would o it with good volume, the market rarely gets it wrong.

Andy - 19 Dec 2006 16:26 - 72 of 109

Sww,

"but now I will want to be reassured all is well"

Me too!

I am holding off a planned purchase for now, until such time as some clarification of yesterday's RNS.

oilyrag - 20 Dec 2006 07:06 - 73 of 109

One overriding thought is that, the institutions would require considerably more quarantees than us, before parting with 5.535 million on their recent flotation. If my memory serves me correctly, they mentioned in one of the threads about not needing a further floatation. These are the sort of conflicting statements that muddy the waters. If the institutions paid 5p, then thats the price I want to pay.

garymegson - 20 Dec 2006 09:30 - 74 of 109

The 5.535 million was at a price of 13.5p

Andy - 03 Jan 2007 16:53 - 79 of 109

marcel1970,

Well the market certainly agrees with you!

A healthy 30% rise today, on high volume, possibly suggests a turning point in sentiment at least.

SCR have to deliver now, Denfang grades are required, and if SRK have done their job, we may well hear before the AGM later this month,

Andy - 03 Jan 2007 18:16 - 81 of 109

Boxer,

I agree, SCR was well oversold IMO.

Looking at the chart, providing the price at least holds in the next day or so, it has just broken the downtrend, but we need at least one more trading day to confirm.

South China Resources added 2.75p to 11.75p with more than 13m shares changing hands, around 10 times the normal amount. Traders said one potential buyer had been waiting for the right time to acquire stock, and had now decided to make a move. The company recently announced a joint venture copper project in Tibet, which it said would have a significant impact on its business and promised a more detailed announcement shortly.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

South China Resources was also in demand, gaining 2-1/4 pence at 11-1/4, following the announcement of the acquisition of 53 pct of a copper project in Chinese Tibet for 6.8 mln usd.

In response, Hichens Harrison noted that SCR has indicated the potential for further acquisitions for some time. The broker expects full details of the project later this week, but believe the project to have very large dimensions.

It concluded that although remote and at altitude, neither of these factors will prevent a major development

Goog RNS Out Yet price drifting down anyone any thoughts?

Andy - 10 Jan 2007 11:08 - 88 of 109

Marcel1970,

Well firstly the whole AIM resource sector is sliding, and secondly SCR holders are awaiting news from Danfeng, rather than from this new project.

Danfeng can deliver short term production, revenue, and profitability, whereas this new project, although highly promising, will take years to bring to fruition IMO.

AGM at the end of the month, there will be many questions re Danfeng if an announcement has not been made by then.

hlyeo98 - 11 Jan 2007 14:52 - 89 of 109

South China Resources slipped 2p to 9.75p after the company cautioned it has not so far confirmed the presence of high grade molybdenum at its Danfeng project in Shaanxi Province, China. Assay results do confirm the position and orientation of copper mineralised zones reported previously (AFX)

I did at 8p sold at 12p ands watched it go, I was thinking of retuning, but didn't, I wanted less than 8p, mind you it looks like it will get there of less easily now.

BTW I suspect that I smell a rat!

The recent fund raising and acquisition was a smoke screen imo, as they knew there may be trouble ahead!

Lucky boy wasn't I?

Other were luckier who sold higher, I am not greedy tough and take smaller amounts where I can.

Andy - 12 Jan 2007 08:21 - 94 of 109

cynic,

Not sure why you think the Chinese have stiffed anyone, SCR have simply failed to quantify the Moly resource, and continue to do so.

cynic - 12 Jan 2007 08:26 - 95 of 109

because i am a cynic ..... especially when it comes to Chinese business

Andy - 12 Jan 2007 16:21 - 96 of 109

cynic,

Well in this case, I believe it is purely down to SCR being unable to define the moly resource, and the Chinese have had nothing to do with this.

I know some SCR holders, and they are looking at thr company to rectify this situation.

I read the RNS and sold.

oilyrag - 17 Jan 2007 07:00 - 97 of 109

I am gald I am out, sorry for those still in.

Smoke and mirrors.

"A disappointing drilling update from South China Resources (SCR) left shares in the junior resource group trading 1.75p lower at 5.75p. The company said that while it had encountered good copper grades at the Danfeng project in the Shaanxi Province of China, there was limited potential for the project to sustain a bulk tonnage, high-grade molybdenum mine at the current level of geological understanding, given its structural complexities."

Andy - 09 Feb 2007 10:53 - 100 of 109

SWW,

Well I sold as soon as I read the recent RNS that they had failed to find moly, as I thought that was a curious statement to make at the time, and just before theAGM too!

I attended the AGM, with a view to making a decision afterwards, based on a more informed view, but decided against buying as Ac didn't convince me, and he became quite aggressive (IMO) with one or two people that asked the sort of probing questions that needed to be asked.

seawallwalker - 09 Feb 2007 11:56 - 101 of 109

Well I know some that held SCR as a tip from a Broker, and like you saw the RNS read between the lines and told them to sell then.

They saved a fortune!

This Company has had it as far as I am concerned, even if they turned around their fortune there appears to have been a smoke screen, in my opinion they knew what was going on, did they mislead shareholders concerning Darfang?

I ask the question, I'll let someone else answer.

oilyrag - 10 Feb 2007 07:33 - 102 of 109

For the more patient of us there is still Zhunuo to be evaluated. It is time for the company to change and focus on this resource. There may still be something for SCR holders to benefit from in the near future.

Well, Master, it didn't quite come right after your prediction of 23rd April. Could today's price rise (upon which you kindly commented in your "UPS" post on today's TRAD thread) be a different kettle of fish?

SCR Bid: 3.5p Offer: 4p Change: 0.5, 2.5 mil traded.

My point being that the Zhunuo project is estimated, on the basis of prelim drilling plus contains the following:

China Resource Category Copper Silver
333 (Inferred) 346,200 tonnes 131 tonnes
334 (Predicted) 948,500 tonnes 267 tonnes
Total 333 + 334 1,294,700 tonnes 398 tonnes

Just taking 346,000t of Cu, that's a value of $1.73bn at a conservative long-term Cu price of $5,000/t, of which 53% accrues to SCR, or $917m/458m. If you put an value that at 1% for the exploration potential, that gives you an NPV of 4.5 million. This doesn't sound like much, but the directors (see below) reckon there could be at least ten times the amount of copper over the whole of the licence, which makes 45 million.

These resources have to be proved by drilling but, unlike the moly at Danfeng, if copper is there to be found, at least it won't disappear.

Why does molybdenum disappear? According to proactiveinvestors, moly can be very difficult to get at, as it is friable and "escapes" from drill cores when sampling.

Sounds like a bit of a b*lls-up, and no mistake. Danfeng has now been relinquished by SCR.

But that leaves Zhunuo, which is hopefully a different case altogether.

The directors point out that sampling at Zhunuo has taken place across only a small area of the license:

"ZHUNUO PROJECT POTENTIAL

"The Directors' estimate set out above is based on areas of drilling which
measures 700m x 800m. The Directors have noted that the area of surface
mineralisation extends to 4km x 3km and believe that if drilling results in this
larger area follow the results of the area already drilled, the Project has the
potential to host a significant resource of between 3 and 5 million tonnes of
contained copper metal with credits of molybdenum, gold and silver."

3 million t Cu = $15bn or 7.5 bn, NPV 1% = 75 million, which is 12 times the current market cap.

Currently the market cap of SCR is a mere 6 million. At year-end 2006, they had 3.3 mil cash, no debt and HY losses of 900K, implying that they could trade until mid-2008 without needing to raise further funds.

3 million t Cu = $15bn or 7.5 bn, NPV 1% = 75 million, which is 12 times the current market cap.

I'm not saying anybody should buy this stock right now - that's up to each individual investor (although arguably it must be somewhere near the bottom, cos if it gets any cheaper, the SP will barely cover the cash in the bank).

I would, however, like to persuade people to revisit this stock, give their views and contribute to the debate. The stock could clearly be worth a huge amount more if drilling confirms that the copper resources are worthwhile. Could this be your next ten-bagger?

PDYOR. Brickbats and suggestions are all welcome.
