RCG takes leading role at 'CIPATE', key forum for Chinese Security Market
Written by Tay Incekara
Friday, 20 May 2005
To support its current marketing efforts and maximize business opportunities in China, RCG, together with its JV partners, CBS and Pattek took a leading part in the recent China International Exhibition and Symposium on Police Equipment and Anti Terrorism Technology and Equipment ("CIPATE") held recently in Beijing.
CIPATE showcased the latest technologies in police alert equipment and protective devices. These included criminal investigation apparatus and technical products, precaution and warning systems against theft, video monitoring systems, explosion-proof and safety apparatus, anti-riot and safety inspection equipment, access control equipment and much more. A key aim for those attending was to enhance the security infrastructure for the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The CIPATE not only offered RCG and its JV partners direct contact with its potential clients, but also a chance to demonstrate the Group's current groundbreaking developments in the security industry.
At the exhibition, RCG joined force with its JV partners and successfully launched three main lines of new products and solutions. These included the Biometric i4 Security Access Control, the Weapon Asset Management Solution featuring the latest RFID technology and Passenger Immigration Control featuring the latest biometric as well as RFID technologies.
The response from visitors was highly encouraging. It was particularly encouraging to see that Chinese government officials and senior police officers who talked to RCG were enthusiastic, giving RCG many positive comments and suggestions. This high level of interest has encouraged the Group to continue actively to explore the Chinese market.
RCG executives took the opportunity to meet senior colleagues of their close business partners, including GE Security Asia Ltd, Beijing Pattek, CBS technology and Ftec Resource Berhad. All parties agreed to join forces in tendering the best possible products and solutions for the vital security infrastructure needs of the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The parties agreed to form an alliance to work on the standardization of biometric and RFID technologies. Further details on this will be released soon.
Dr. Raymond Chu, Chairman of RCG and the Chairperson of the meeting, said, "The success of the exhibition and meeting reflects the awareness of the crucial importance of the security infrastructure for the Olympic games. The Group will reinforce its commitment to research and develop solutions using the latest technologies in security industry."

Anyone got a view on the rise today?

peeyam - 03 Jun 2005 08:23 - 6 of 74

up 1p today as well :) (45p short term resistance point)

mmiller555 - 03 Jun 2005 14:32 - 7 of 74

Now up 2p on the day but wish I knew what's driving this rise!! Any thoughts.

Sharesure - 03 Jun 2005 14:56 - 8 of 74

Just been canvassed to buy a load of these at around 38p. Worth it or has this been ramped?

peeyam - 06 Jun 2005 11:52 - 9 of 74

in the short term its heading for the resistence of 45p, as mentioned b4. SWSUEN the best price to buy with hindsight would have been 32p when this post started, however assuming it is going to 45p still there are a few pence left in it.

mmiller555 - 06 Jun 2005 12:36 - 10 of 74

The way this is motoring today seems like the 45p resistance will be reached by close of business, now 44p to buy - up 4p today.

blackbelt - 06 Jun 2005 12:51 - 11 of 74

Cant believe how quick this one has motored but security systems are paramount in this day and age

peeyam - 06 Jun 2005 13:01 - 12 of 74

Blackbelt I agree with you, I guess most countries would adopt this technology in the coming year('s) for passports, ID cards etc.. Being one of the few companies in the market, these guys stand a decent shot at landing atleast 1 government contract.

blackbelt - 06 Jun 2005 13:19 - 13 of 74

Definately the global roll-out should provide massive revenue streams from a number of quarters, the Government has security high on its agenda ive been looking for a company like this to invest and am grateful for this thread eluding to this little gem........

peeyam - 07 Jun 2005 10:35 - 14 of 74

up again today, guess it may test 45 today or tomorrow

regandjess1 - 07 Jun 2005 11:52 - 15 of 74

I think another 10p to come. I'll sell at around 55p. Then buy in again on any drop.

blackbelt - 07 Jun 2005 13:19 - 16 of 74

If it breaks 45 its sure to plough on with TA.....Im hoping for a write up in Shares or IC help put this on the map a bit more.

peeyam - 07 Jun 2005 15:24 - 17 of 74

my short term sell target = 65 and like regandjess will buy back for next rally to 1.50. i think the day traders and premium members here on moneyam and advfn would have started to note this share already since it may have already hit the constant gainers list. In which case we can see more buys.

blackbelt - 07 Jun 2005 15:39 - 18 of 74

Its moving along nicely now, would be nice to finish strongly holding on to a new high

new fool - 08 Jun 2005 14:47 - 19 of 74

WAs tipped this by friend in city house at 30p he seems to think 150% realistic target price especially with the chinese olympics coming up.And the amount of security from terrorism these days,i can only see an upside as they already pay a dividend. And as you see the company is in my view undervalued especially for the pottetinal of being one of the leadind providers in its product, and have just expanded into europe.

blackbelt - 28 Jun 2005 13:12 - 20 of 74

Some heavy trading today mostly buys over 200,000 price is ticked down to clear the overhang of stock due to the small cash call needed for expansion.

Ive just topped up this morning so I can capitalise on the next run up. Once the new shares are absorbed this is gonna fly IMHO.

blackbelt - 29 Jun 2005 13:08 - 21 of 74

Heavy buying again....this is about to start to motoring very soon!

angi - 29 Jun 2005 14:41 - 22 of 74

I've just nipped off to do some research in this company and come back to find that half the posts have vanished including a very good report about chinese prospects re Bejing games, passports etc. Some of the posts I read were wrong re price it's 32.5 today and I wouldn't have said the buying's all that great (moneyam figures) but it does sound like an interesting company. More info please.

blackbelt - 30 Jun 2005 12:18 - 23 of 74

Hi angi, theres another tread that with the same epic for this try that one.

Im diggin up a wee bit on this one so will post what i find.

Its ticked up this morning on small buying so it looks as if all the stock is cleared and the share price can start to gather momentum. DYOR

Nice bit of news that could prove highly lucrative.

RC Group Holdings Limited that certain of its patent applications have been accepted by China.

The biometrics company said the applications relate to hardware products and proprietary IP technology for producing a long distance RFID sensor device and wireless RFID signal receiving sensor device.

The applications have been accepted in accordance with Article 28 of the Patent Law and Article 39 and 40 of the Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law.

Raymond Chu, CEO of RCG, commented: "The acceptance of the patent applications is a key milestone in the continuing development and commercialization of the Group's RFID technology.

"With so many potential applications particularly in the field of security tagging and tracking, we believe that RFID will supersede bar coding within the next few years. RC Group is now in an even stronger position to take advantage of this fast developing market."

blackbelt - 30 Jul 2005 11:33 - 25 of 74

It has been rather quiet on here for a while........

More patents were passed by the Chinese Government puting the company in prime position to get massive contracts before the Bejing Olympics. Security is a top issue now more than ever, its worth keeping a keen eye on this one.

Theres also been a secret investor taking over 5million shares off the major shareholder Off shore Group Holdings......

LONDON (AFX) - RC Group Holdings PLC said that its major shareholder The Offshore Group Holdings Ltd has disposed of 5 mln shares in the company to investors in Asia-Pacific.

Offshore Group retains an interest in 67 mln shares, or 63.02 pct of RC's share capital.

blackbelt - 01 Aug 2005 08:42 - 26 of 74

What does people think about the offshore group selling a stake?

blackbelt - 02 Aug 2005 09:01 - 27 of 74

Really heavy buying yesterday and the price ticked down slightly, its quite frustrating

blackbelt - 10 Aug 2005 08:38 - 28 of 74

Nice tick up this morning, the chart shows a familar pattern looks like it may shoot up again soon IMO! Higher lows each time fingers crossed we are in for a run

RC Group completes new security and surveillance product

AFX UK Focus

LONDON (AFX) - RC Group (Holdings) Limited has completed the development of its new Automatic SecuGate Inspection System which provides identification capabilities to international entry and exit inspection points.

The ASI system combines biometric identification technologies which include fingerprint, finger/palm vein and iris recognition with radio frequency ID technologies to enabling security services to identify, monitor and track individuals in and around secured areas.

RC said the system has been initially developed to provide a comprehensive security product for partners who are currently submitting tenders for the security contracts for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Dr. Raymond Chu, CEO of RCG, commented:

"The successful completion of the development of the ASI system is a further
demonstration of our commitment and capability to research and develop
cutting-edge technologies for the security industry. This latest system has the
capability to combine both biometric identification and RFID technologies and
firmly places the Group's products at the forefront of the security solutions
market. The international security markets are persistently faced with growing
security demands and it is our intention to research, develop and supply
technologies to support the efforts of the security services."

Sounds extremely exciting

blackbelt - 23 Aug 2005 17:06 - 31 of 74

You got to be shitting me! all 375k buys and no tick up in the price

blackbelt - 19 Sep 2005 16:54 - 32 of 74

Nicely moving up towards the results next friday, should be an update on contracts and the secret Asia entitities who are snapping up stock anybody in for the ride..........?

yngam - 19 Sep 2005 23:17 - 33 of 74

Surely more interesting than the 'secret asia' entities that snapped up the 5m shares is The Offshore Group Holdings which sold them the 5m. They still have a huge majority interest (though this is slowly being reduced by sales and dilutions).

It shall be interesting to see the fruits of their investment in European expansion, to see what progress the London office has made.

There was a mention hidden away in IC last week.

blackbelt - 20 Sep 2005 09:01 - 34 of 74

They are spreading themselves around the world and with th olympics destined for bejing this is surely a good long term punt. They have received a number of patents from the Chinese govt so im extremely interested to hear of their current and future postion on contract wins!

As for the secret purchasers of stock, the offshore group have been reducing their holdings incrementally to satisfy demand its always intriguing when this is happening especially when the company seems to be doing well looking forward to the results for some clarification

blackbelt - 13 Oct 2005 14:26 - 35 of 74

Going along nicely, even on today a bloodbath still managing to remain blue!

RC GROUP (HOLDINGS) LIMITED

(`the Group')

Trading Statement

RC Group (Holdings) Limited, the leading international security systems
provider that specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of
biometric identification and RFID technologies, is pleased to announce that the
strong trading reported in the interim results for the period to June 2005
continued throughout the second half of the year.

As a consequence the Group expects to report full year results ahead of market
expectations.

Furthermore, the new financial year has begun with a strong base of satisfied
customers, a well defined and growing innovative product set and an encouraging
order flow. There continues to be significant opportunities in the markets the
Group seeks to dominate and the Board approach the coming financial year with
increasing optimism.

The strengthened cash position resulting from the Group's 11m fundraising in
October 2005 has enabled the Board to lead the consolidation and growth of its
target markets and at the year end stage the Group had available funds of
approximately 9m.

Dr. Raymond Chu, CEO, commented:

'I was particularly encouraged by the progress we made through the second half
of 2005 and look forward to reporting on our performance in mid April.

Following our successful fundraising in October of last year and the completion
of our acquisition of Skycomp in January of this year I firmly believe that we
have the products, R&D capabilities and sales channels to continue our strong
growth. In being able to respond quickly to our customers needs I also believe
that we have a great opportunity to be global leaders in our emerging sectors
of biometrics and RFID.'

months ended 31 December 2005 on Thursday 30 March 2006.

Kivver - 22 Mar 2006 11:25 - 38 of 74

its a geat learning curve going back and reading these kinds of threads from the beginning, the expectation and the actual reality. Not saying its a bad share, but certainly slow getting to the expectation.

silvermede - 22 Mar 2006 16:17 - 39 of 74

Kivver, agree I sold half my holding in frustration and then they recovered to current levels. Still believe the upside is there to be had though in the long term, but perhaps needs greater recognition. I await the prelims with an air of expectancy..............

Kivver - 22 Mar 2006 16:28 - 40 of 74

i think you have knocked the nail on the head there silver and its all about recognition and the market seeing the upside in a share, if the market doesnt recognise it or see it then we're in trouble, no matter how good a share is.

silvermede - 30 Mar 2006 08:47 - 41 of 74

A cracking set of Final Results for 2005, well worth a read. Dr Raymond Chu is certainly delivering, common market wake up to this potential. Growth and Profit both up and stacks of cash in the bank for a company in a potential multi-milllion/billion market and the're ahead of the game.

Hardly suprising after such stunning results and future potential

More good news today.
The relatively slow progress of the sp amazes me. However, for those with confidence in their own judgement it makes for a wonderful buying opportunity.
Profit, cash flow, prospective p/e and peg ratio all looking good to brilliant.
I much prefer this to pouring my money into a dubious hole in the ground or a future wonderstock that's still eating mountains of cash and trading on an incalculable p/e.
DYOR, of course - it will bring you to the same conclusion imho.

Confidant - 05 Apr 2006 09:25 - 48 of 74

Too right --- stock is trading on 8x or so this years earnings. That's before the deals of last 2 days. The Sony link seems to support the technology fully and add on acquisitions look to be able to propel sales

I must be missing somthing too !!

Just saw this from HB's Market Comment Broker Round Up:

Insinger de Beaufort reiterates its trading buy rating for Land of Leather (LAN.L) and has a trading buy rating for RC Group (RCG.L).

So RCG has made it onto the City's radar screen! at last :-)

silvermede - 07 Apr 2006 08:29 - 50 of 74

Another recommend, this time from IC:

LONDON (AFX) - Better levels were seen in RC Group, 2 pence firmer at 49-1/2, as the Investors Chronicle advised readers to 'buy'. The shares are only valued at 9 times earnings which, the IC said, is too low for a fast-growing technology company with 7 mln stg in the bank that already pays a dividend.

silvermede - 07 Apr 2006 08:57 - 51 of 74

Kivver,

Happier now? This just shows that if the fundamentals are good, then patience really pays off.... in the end! :-)

Further clarification on collaboration with Intel in China, this could be very big!

RC Group (Holdings) Limited
13 April 2006

RC Group (Holdings) Limited

('RCG' or the 'Group')

Intel Collaboration

RCG, the leading international security solutions provider that specialises in
the development, manufacture and distribution of products and solutions using
biometric and RFID technologies, is pleased to announce that it has entered into
a collaboration with Intel to jointly develop RFID solutions for the health
sector in China.

As mentioned in the chairman's statement issued on 30 March 2006, we have a
growing expertise in delivering RFID solutions for a growing customer base
across a range of industries including logistics, retail and airport. We
recently announced our success in having the opportunity of working on a RFID
project relating to the global logistics industry standards outlined by EPC
Global Inc. In view of the increasing demands of RFID solutions relating to
healthcare, our next move in this area is to target the vast potential of the
Chinese healthcare market. China has over 10,000 sizeable hospitals and a
population of over 1.3 billion.

Working together, RCG and Intel will develop solutions for the emerging digital
health supply chain and logistics industry. It is the expectation of both
parties that in providing world leading RFID solutions they will facilitate the
emergence of a Chinese health sector logistics system based on digital
technology systems. To further promote the uptake of their digital solutions in
China, both parties will also establish a joint marketing program in 2006.

Raymond Chu, CEO, commented:

'Over the past three years we have established ourselves as world leaders in
providing RFID and biometric solutions and products. It is my belief that this
collaboration with Intel and our previously announced collaboration with Sony
are testament to our position in these two markets and demonstrate our depth of
technical excellence in these fields.'

Sub 10x this year's earnings with growth virtually written in on the back of all these distribution deals !!! Come on you must be kidding
