Copper is the main concern of AXM and the future demand for copper is going to be higher then ever. Demand is now rising, driven mainly by China and India, while a shortage of smelting and refining capacity has restricted supplies. As a result, prices have surged to $3,542 per tonne, an historically high level.
Analysts said upward pressure on commodity prices was bound to continue if China continued to suck in raw materials at this rate. Production is so high in some hot spots like Shanghai that companies have been told to shut down in July and August to conserve power supplies.
Bear in mind here chaps that, regarding AXMs' South American copper project, analysts are recently quoted as saying "if this (Juramento)find turns out to be better than expected it could rival the biggest resource of copper in the world" and AXM could therefore "be worth 2.00 a share on this find alone in a couple of years.

Just taking a look at the stats on AXM, what I'm finding interesting is the ratio of buyers to sellers. The present total ratio is 1,376 to 1,168 which shows that more people are buying than selling, but more interesting still is the ratio since June 6, since when there have been 391 buyers and only 129 sellers. This shows there are over 3 buyers to every seller which, in turn, would seem to imply quite a lot of confidence in this company.

OCM - Strange idea to look at the ratio of buyers to sellers. I'm not sure that such figures are of any real use - they may show a trend, perhaps.
What you seem to have forgotten is that some of the buyers and sellers are one and the same people - swapping long positions for short positions and vica versa. So you can not actually say that the buyers outweigh the sellers by 3:1. In fact (a bit fancifull I know) but all the buys and sells could be just a couple of people. So ratios would tell us nothing.
As per, DYOR, LOL, etc

Starfrog; point taken. Some of the buyers/sellers will become sellers/buyers but I'm just trying to give the overall picture insofar as producing stats. My opinion merely reflected on the number of buyers since June 6 (now 401) and sellers (now 141).

jim - u must be blind! OCM is a blatant 'promoter'. At least he has finally stuck to one name and stopped posting under numerous names. On another site he 'advised' people to dump KMR in favour of AFD and AXM. The charts of these 3 companies says it all. But his posts are so tedious. Numerous copy and paste of the same rns or parts of rns. Forever posting number of buys and sells even though the price is going down or staying still. Good luck too you jim if you taken in but other investors need to research this company in detail. You have been warned.
ps expect OCM to post a very long RNS (or two) so as lots people probably wont read this post!

Promoters - rampers / deramper, you'll always get both on BB. people have to make their own decisions based upon the information they have and on good or bad news.

thanks for the warning - I have researched AXM and will stick with it . Of course it is speculative, as are all miners are before they actually produce anything but I think that with the high commodity prices likely to persist and the rumoured size of the deposits it could be a winner in the long haul. By the way I've been in KMR for about 4 years now , slowly building up my holding, and that is looking very good at the moment

Alexander Mining plc
29th September 2005
Operational Update and
Interim Results for the six months ended 30 June 2005
Operational Update
Alexander Mining plc (Alexander, the Company or the Group) is pleased to release the following update report on its projects in northwest Argentina and Peru.
Highlights
Encouraging initial drilling results from the first two holes assayed at Leon show higher true width intersections and grades of copper mineralisation than previously reported averages.
Fourteen out of the fifteen holes drilled to date have intersected the orebody, with additional results pending samples sent for assaying.
Approximately 100,000 hectares of additional exploration claims have been taken out in the Leon region.
Rachaite drilling scheduled to start by the second week of October, 2005
Leon Copper/Silver Project, Salta Province, NW Argentina
The initial 10,000m diamond core drilling programme at Leon, being undertaken by Falcon Drilling, is progressing rapidly. To date, fifteen holes have been completed, of which all but one have intersected the orebody. Whilst these are early results, the first two holes, for which assays are available from ALS Chemex Laboratories, show significantly better than expected grades and true widths of intersected mineralisation when compared to the average resource results reported by the previous operator. These two holes were drilled on separate vertical sections (or fence lines) spaced 100m apart and at an angle of -50 degrees from surface.
As shown in the table below, hole LP05-002 intersected from almost surface (0.09 metres m) 45.14m of mineralisation - a calculated true width of 29.01m, at 1.13% copper and 39 grammes per tonne (g/t) silver. The copper grade for the complete intersection is 41% higher than the average resource grade reported of 0.80% calculated from previous drilling in the 1990s. Moreover, the calculated true width for this hole is substantially thicker than the estimated orebody average of 15.5m from previous work.
Hole LP05-003, drilled on the next fence line 100m to the south of that for hole LP05-002, intersected 47.87m of mineralisation from 66.26m, with a calculated true width of 30.75m, at 0.95% copper (with silver assays pending).

Alexander has also taken out an additional 19 exploration claims, totalling approximately 100,000 hectares (ha; approximately 250,000 acres), over areas to the north and south of the licences that the Company is currently drilling. These claims have the potential for significant near surface copper and silver mineralisation similar to that at the Leon system.
Rachaite, Copper/Molybdenum/Gold Project, Jujuy Province, NW Argentina
Good progress has been made and mapping and sampling have been completed, resulting in the definition of a major copper/molybdenum/gold porphyry target. Road construction and drill site preparation has been finished and community relations work has advanced successfully. A drilling contract has been awarded and is scheduled to start by the second week of October, 2005.
Sulcha, Gold/Silver Project, Otuzco Province, Peru
Topographical survey work and surface sampling are being carried out. Additional geological work is underway in anticipation of commencing drilling in late 2005. In addition, Alexanders Peruvian subsidiary was granted an additional 400ha (988 acres) of exploration claims adjacent to the Sulcha block.
Matt Sutcliffe, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said that he was delighted with the highly encouraging progress to date at Leon and excited by the potential of the additional exploration claims taken out in the Leon region. I look forward to the commencement of drilling at Rachaite and the reporting of drilling results from both projects in due course.
Interim Results for the six months ended 30 June 2005
The Company is pleased to report that excellent progress has been made in its objective of growing into a mid-tier mining company and that the market conditions remain favourable for the exploration and production of base and precious metals.
Highlights
Listing on AIM in conjunction with a successful and oversubscribed equity placement raising 20m
Establishment of the main office in London and a regional office in northwest Argentina
Good progress with projects in Argentina and Peru
New senior management appointments
Strong financial position
Chairmans Review
It gives me great pleasure to report on Alexander interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2005. During the period, the Company listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange on 4 April, 2005. In conjunction with the AIM listing, a successful and oversubscribed equity placement, predominantly to UK investment institutions, which raised gross proceeds of 20m, was completed. In the course of our transformation from being a private to public company, we have established our main office in London, regional office in the City of Salta, Salta Province, northwest Argentina and made key staff appointments.
Operations
Encouraging progress has been made in the last few months with our South American projects. The Companys focus has been its Leon copper/silver project in northwest Argentina, where a major technical and 10,000m diamond core drilling programme, designed to delineate the mineable resources of the Leon deposit to the JORC Code standard, is underway. At the Rachaite property, drilling will commence in early October 2005. The Sulcha project in Peru is progressing towards drilling.
Financial
During the six months ended 30 June 2005, the Company made a consolidated net loss after taxation of 436,000, compared to a loss for the period ended 31 December 2004 of 296,000. Interest earned during the period totalled 241,000 due to our strong cash position, which totalled 21.5m at the end of June. During the period, 482,000 of exploration costs have been capitalised, representing costs associated with the acquisition and initial exploration on the Companys projects in South America.
Outlook
The mining sector continues to enjoy strong investment interest, reflecting strong precious and base metals markets. The strength in base metals has been largely fuelled by the extraordinary growth of the Chinese economy and, of mounting importance, increasing demand for commodities from India. This favourable scenario, as well as our significant cash position, provides the Company with an excellent outlook.
On behalf of the board, I would like to thank our shareholders for their strong support and to thank my fellow directors and employees for their hard work and dedication during what has been an excellent and satisfying period of progress for the Company.
Matt Sutcliffe

Independent Review Report to Alexander Mining plc
Introduction
We have been instructed by the Company to review the financial information for the six months ended 30 June 2005, which comprises the profit and loss account, the balance sheet, the cash flow statement and related notes. We have read the other information contained in the interim report and considered whether it contains any apparent misstatements or material inconsistencies with the financial information.
This report is made solely to the Company and in accordance with Bulletin 1999/4 issued by the Auditing Practices Board. Our work has been undertaken so that we might state to the Company those matters we are required to state to them in an independent review report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Company, for our review work, for this report, or for the conclusions we have formed.
Directors' responsibilities
The interim report, including the financial information contained therein, is the responsibility of, and has been approved by the directors. The directors are responsible for preparing the interim report in accordance with the rules of the London Stock Exchange for companies trading securities on the Alternative Investment Market which require that the half-yearly report be presented and prepared in a form consistent with that which will be adopted in the Companys annual accounts having regard to the accounting standards applicable to such annual accounts.
Review work performed
We conducted our review in accordance with guidance contained in Bulletin 1999/4 issued by the Auditing Practices Board. A review consists principally of making enquiries of group management and applying analytical procedures to the financial information and underlying financial data based thereon, assessing whether the accounting policies and presentation have been consistently applied unless otherwise disclosed. A review excludes audit procedures such as tests of controls and verification of assets, liabilities and transactions. It is substantially less in scope than an audit performed in accordance with Auditing Standards and therefore provides a lower level of assurance than an audit. Accordingly we do not express an audit opinion on the financial information.
Review conclusion
On the basis of our review we are not aware of any material modifications that should be made to the financial information as presented for the six months ended 30 June 2005.

aaahhhhhhh OMC, cheer up mate. please refer to the number of the post where i have attacked axm. or would you like me to quote the numerous posts where you have said people will get rich very quickly BUT sp has done nothing but gone down or sideways.
The company still produce nothing, the prospects are they will in the future and probably be very profitable, but that could be weeks, months or years away. You do never make this clear which does not enhance your reputation and is downright bordering on ramping (this means taking advantage of the new, naive and vunerable). Look foward to reading some better, well balanced posts on AXM in the future. Happy new year.

By the enormous number of your negative and often spiteful postings, you clearly have an uncomplimentary agenda afoot. But you would have to be quite a naive clown to try and decieve people by assuming they won't understand what the letter T means when it appears next to a given trade.
As you yourself clearly don't let me spell it out fully for you:
Single (symbol = T)
If reporting a single protected transaction. A protected transaction occurs when a large order is going through the market. The buyer (or seller) may wish to keep the order anonymous from the rest of the market as the size of the order could greatly alter the price of the stock. With a protected transaction the dealer will put the trade through in small quantities rather than knock the whole order out in one hit. The entire transaction is reported once the deal is completed. The LSE is notified at the start and at the end of the transaction, however, the market as a whole isn't told until the end, thus the order is protected.
To make it clear to you, both trades -as reported by me- were buys.
To educate you further:
Market Maker to Market Maker (symbol M)
A transaction between two market makers registered in the security in question including those executed through an inter dealer broker or a public display system.
Thank you. OCM

T = If reporting a protected transaction (i wonder who that could be between or who).
You need to grow up and stop crying. What is my agenda? you have been promising riches for everyone since mid june (some might see a very close correlation between your posts and the posts of a different name who seems to have disappeared after june on another axm thread) and the sp and gone nowhere and infact gone down yet you say i am deceiving naive people. I have simply warned people that the company havent actually found anything to produce yet. Repeatly recording buy and sell numbers mean nothing and is quite frankly boring.
Read my post no72 where i actually agree with you, i think like all other exploration/commoditities companies it may well have a good future but until they find anything to produce it is a massive gamble. Just look at Bowleven (blvn) today, a big rise lately due to exploration for gas, they dont find it, massive fall. I cant see the harm in warning 'naive' investors this could well happen to them.

A protected transaction is designed to maintain stability in the market. I'm afraid you have a complete lack of understanding regarding market basics.
I will not read your earlier rants because of their unbalanced content.
Instead, you read this. Looking at the top posting on this board will clearly show that I only post company and news releases and charts showing factual information. Obviously I have a financial interest in AXM and therefore would very much like to see the share price head north, but in this world credibility is everything. Anything I post always has and always will be strictly factual -clearly verifiable. Like anyone else, I do have opinions but keep these in check. Everyone should always do their own homework before making any investment.

Investors make up your own mind. ONC has been promising you riches since i dont know when under different handles and different threads (which of course he will deny). Just look at his own chart, it says it all.
My advice is, yes keep an eye on this company, keep it in your watch list, be tempted when exploring but remeber the result may not always be positive. Personally i will only get in when they have found something. As i am the only one around here who gives a balanced approach i would say get in now (if you want) and if they to find something you'll be quids in. Good luck whatever you decide.
Also as someone who doesnt understand the market, i have 14 stocks in my portfolio, 2 are in at a loss (cyh and bprg). Kenmare my biggest riser with a profit of 150% is excatly what im on about, they have something to produce that will also explain why im at a loss with bprg..

As a clown you are not very funny and your boasts of a 150% success rate is in all likelihood little more than another rant.
Why don't you do the rightful thing and apologise to readers of this board for deliberately misleading them about 'your' definition of the trade symbol T??

You can always put a monkey in a suit, its still a monkey. Hope you are going to apologise to all those who have bought axm on your excessive ramps. PS won the lottery not once but 4 times, that makes me 40 quid better off than you.

right i'll apologise for you.
on ONC's behalf i would like to to say sorry to neone who has bought AXM shares based on his ramps, he was hoping to get rich very quickly then dump his load and get out of there very fast. I know you could have your money working for you much better somewhere else but he didnt feel able to any take any advice apart from from his own.
Contrary to what OCM has to say about me i actually feel there is something positive about this company. But i do not think it will happen overnight (as the chart proves), keep an eye on the rns's and hopefully in the near not to distant future they might find something to produce. On negative side getting in to soon can leave you hung out to dry (just look at Bowleven blvn today and see what happen when exploration is unsuccessful)

Daily Telegraph
Market report
By Yvette Essen (Filed: 12/01/2006)
Alexander Mining rose 2 to 28p on chatter that the copper, gold and silver mining company with projects in Argentina and Peru, could be gobbled up. Dealers speculated a predator may pay as much as 45p a share.
