Early in 2004 Team Oil ( www.teamoil.com ) became associated with Granby Enterprises Ltd. which was founded in 2002 by Martin Whitehead and Richard Moreton, also former executives of Enterprise Oil plc. Granby Enterprises ( www.granbyenterprises.com ) is primarily focused on the UK North Sea with the aim of acquiring quality prospects through the DTI promote licencing rounds. Granby Enterprises also has extensive worldwide basin experience including North Africa (particularly Morocco) and Central Africa. Team Oil and Granby Enterprises now share common directors and management teams which efficiently combine Granby Enterprises' exploration experience with Team Oil's production and development experience giving Team Oil/Granby Enterprises the full upstream exploration and production capability.

In July 2004 Granby Enterprises was involved with the listing of a new company on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) called Elixir Petroleum Limited. Details of the listing and the prospectus can be obtained on www.elixirpetroleum.com.au Elixir Petroleum through an Alliance Deed is working with Granby Enterprises for its activities through the 22nd and 23rd UKCS Licencing Rounds.

'As an example of our capabilities Team Oil has negotiated a farm-in to a highly attractive but technically challenging proven oilfield discovery in the Far East region. Team Oil is working with the existing owners to develop the Field. Team Oil has prepared a development plan and sub-surface study to operate the field and is putting together a financing structure to drill a minimum of two wells with production facilities operating in the region of 25,000 bopd. First oil is targeted for the third/fourth quarter of 2005.'

The Teamoil website is still up and running.
Def worth a look.

proptrade - 21 Jun 2005 11:40 - 11 of 138

too true. buy a million!

i just hate seeing a thread die from lack of interst. will put it on watch and please send me a private email if anything is happening!

jimmy b - 21 Jun 2005 11:41 - 12 of 138

I think its already happened this morning proptrade..

wilbs - 21 Jun 2005 11:50 - 13 of 138

I did get in early. I will keep the thread updated along with ELP & BOR. ELP & GOIL are UK partners.

'Granby (AIM Code: GOIL) successfully raised 10 million and was admitted to AIM
on Wednesday, 15 June. At the issue price of 0.84 Granby is capitalised at
around 21.6 million (A$51.8 million).

Given the difficult market conditions experienced over recent weeks and the
adverse publicity surrounding a number of AIM stocks, Granby's capital raising
is a strong endorsement of the Granby-Elixir North Sea exploration portfolio.

With both Elixir and Granby adequately funded following their respective AIM
listings, Elixir looks forward to pursuing joint exploration activity across the
existing 22nd Round blocks and hopefully within successful applications from the
current 23rd Round.'

The 20,000 was a buy.

seawallwalker - 21 Jun 2005 12:58 - 16 of 138

Yes the 20k was.

Now is the time to keep a good eye wilbs.

The ask is dropping on buys, so apparently no reason for it except that this may be higher than the mm's think it should be.

If it ticks again, that may be followed by a quicker drop.

If you have a bit of slack, you could afford to see if that happens.

All imo etc.

(edited god eye refers to an Englishman pretending to speak French. 'Allo 'Allo)

seawallwalker - 21 Jun 2005 15:21 - 17 of 138

Well, it's still plus 7p but this pattern has occurred with a couple of floats in this E & P sector lately.

The last one was GBP.

You still in wilbs or did you take the money?

wilbs - 21 Jun 2005 15:30 - 18 of 138

Im staying in. They have a good future and a good management team behind them, im also in ELP and they should work well together in the North Sea. News on the potential offshore oil field development in the Philippines must be hiding round the corner waiting to pop its head round. Any big dips and I will look to add.

Who knows, I may join in.

Been interesting to watch today, so thanks for bringing it forward for a look see.

I will stay watching.

Vitol to invest $31M

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By LENIE LECTURA
Netherlands-based Vitol Group will pour in an additional $31 million into a consortium tasked to develop oil reserves located northwest of Palawan.

The group is an international marketer of petroleum products. It had earlier committed to invest $9 million to the Galoc Production Co. (GPC), a consortium formed by British

firm Team Oil Ltd. and Cape Energy Pty. Ltd. of Australia to develop oil reserves in an oil field estimated to hold about 30 to 50 million barrels.

Vitol will underwrite a $31 million loan to further develop the Galoc oil field. The Vitol group has interests and activities in the African oil industry. It is one of the worlds foremost oil trading companies with a wide range of activities encompassing exploration, refining and shipping. Its product portfolio includes a range of fuels, chemicals and liquefied petroleum gas.

Team Oil and Cape Energy earlier signed a "farm-in agreement" with SC 14 consortium which holds the rights to explore the oil reserves in the Galoc field.

Vitols investment was known through Philodrill Corp., one of the consortium members which hold Service Contract 14. The other members includes Oriental Petroleum and Mineral Corp., Alcorn Phils.; Alcorn Gold Resources; Linapacan Oil, Gas & Power; Altisima Energy; Basic Petroleum and Minerals; Petroenergy Resources; Phoenix Energy; and Perth-based Nido Petroleum.

The agreement cover the Galoc area, which will be developed by the Team Oil and Cape Energy at their own cost in exchange for 80 percent equity.

The consortium completed as of end-March three crude shipments to Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. of 38,385 barrels of crude from SC 14, particularly, from the Nido and Matinloc areas.

Whats the target for this one? short and long

wilbs - 22 Jun 2005 09:34 - 32 of 138

Cheers jimmy. ELP is also one to watch IMO. When we get more updates on the Marquis prospect in block 21/6b in the North Sea then they will both hopefully be heading north. They may also work together on other projects in the North Sea.

As for a target? Its hard to put one on at the moment until we get some more news and better estimates of how much oil there is and the cost of getting it to the surface, also depends on the news of the Galoc block which I think is what may be pushing the sp up. I personally can see it hitting 200p in the short term but thats IMHO.

Hi Wilbs, No, not got any position here. Not too keen on news issues myself, especially after seeing what happend to a few last year. You seem to have done well and I assume that you were in right at the start. However, saying that, IEC did well for a while after it came to market last year. Have put this on the monitor to see how it goes. Well done on this one.

This is with reference to a conference being held July 1st:

Developing and optimising assets - A new startup companys experience

Granby Oil & Gas Ltd was recently formed from the merger of Granby Enterprises Ltd with Team Oil Ltd. The company was successfully awarded a number of promote licences in the UKCS 21st & 22nd licensing rounds, and is currently looking at a number of international opportunities. The company believes that the DTIs Promote initiative has been a key catalyst in stimulating renewed interest in UKCS exploration opportunities, and that such licences have given small companies an opportunity to grow by adding real asset value to their business at low capital costs early in their life cycles. This presentation will look at ways in which assets such as these can be managed to maximise the value they bring to a business, whilst minimising risk exposure. Issues of materiality and the importance of a balanced portfolio will also be addressed.

From the times online.

Oils booming price has done for the UK oil and gas sector what soaring metal prices have done for London-listed miners. Investors have flocked to companies that vow to seek substantial assets, or those with a solid portfolio of producing assets that, at current oil prices, should produce lots of free cash. The high prices have also attracted opportunists to list oil investment vehicles, cashing in on generally upbeat market sentiment. Al Stanton, Bridgewell Securities analyst, says share prices of UK small and mid-tier oil companies are up a fifth year on year, but that the performance is increasingly mixed. In his view, it is a companys management of underlying assets, rather than the oil price, that has the most material impact on its share price. In that context, a few companies stand out: Paladin and Dana Petroleum have strong-performing production assets. Cairns finds in India continue to excite, and Premier will hope to issue more positive drilling news this year, as well as cash in on higher gas prices. At the markets smaller end, investment becomes more selective, but there is scope for rewards. Gulf Keystone is in Algeria, but only future drilling will confirm its potential. Granby Oil & Gas joined AIM only this month, but its shares are already up more than half. Granby is to give results of its first well drilled in the North Sea on Monday. A positive result will no doubt further fuel Granby shares. A dry well, however, will not go unnoticed.

Way Hey some news. Lets hope the well is not dry cant see it myself since the other wells around that area are oil producers.

wilbs - 25 Jun 2005 17:32 - 64 of 138

Hi Oracles, good to have you on board.
Theres not many caught onto GOIL yet.. Its had a good run since flotation and if the well turns out to be a good un (which I think it will) the sp will rocket and GOIL will get noticed. I can easily see a sp of 300p by the end of the year or sooner if the offshore oil field development in the Philippines
comes off.
ELP is also one to keep ypur eye on as they are partners.
I cant wait till Monday.

Looks like the "Times" has got it wrong. But I suspect we will get news mid week.

wilbs - 27 Jun 2005 08:15 - 66 of 138

I would say the times have got it wrong. Thats not like newspapers!!!!
Surely there would be some early buying if news was expected, especially if it was good and the price of oil at the moment.

wilbs - 27 Jun 2005 11:29 - 68 of 138

I have emailed GOIL and asked if any truth in the times article. Here is their reply.

Thanks for contacting us.

We indicated in an RNS announcement on 20 June that the well had started on 18 June and could take about 12 days. It could get to the target depth a day or two earlier, but whenever it does we will be making a formal announcement as the results will obviously be price sensitive.

Obviously this isnt our only prospect, so whether or not the well is a success we have plenty more prospects which we aim to drill.

wilbs - 27 Jun 2005 11:35 - 70 of 138

Nothing really syd. They are just backing up what they said in the RNS. They have other prospects so if the well is dry they will drill the others. I know that sounds negative but you can read too much into things.
I don't know where the papers get their info but its never right.

Granby Oil and Gas plc

('Granby' or 'the Company' or 'the Group')

UK North Sea 21/6b-6 Exploration Well

Drilling of North Sea exploration well 21/6b-6 has been completed. The well
began drilling on 18th June 2005 with the rig Bredford Dolphin operated by
Century Exploration (UK) Limited and was targeting a Palaeocene Sandstone
reservoir.

The reservoir was encountered close to prognosis, but was found to be water
bearing.

The well, which was drilled at no cost to Granby, is to be plugged and
abandoned.

David Grassick, Managing Director of Granby Oil and Gas, said:

'Naturally, we are disappointed that this was not a better result for our first
well, but we have many excellent prospects which we are preparing to drill over
the next couple of years. We are already preparing a multi-well programme for
2006 based on our 22nd round licences, as well as looking forward to the
results of the 23rd Licensing Round which we hope will provide further
opportunities.'

Notes to Editors

Background

Exploration well 21/6b-6 was Granby's first exploration well and was drilled on
the Marquis prospect, located to the west of the Forties field in the Central
North Sea. Granby was initially awarded 50% of block 21/6b in the 21st
Licensing Round in 2003, before farming out to Century and Elixir in order to
fund the well. Granby's costs for the drilling of the well will be fully met by
its farm-in partners.

Interests in block 21/6b are as follows:

Century Exploration (UK) Limited (Operator) 70%

Elixir Petroleum Limited 15%

Granby Enterprises Ltd 15%

Overview of the Business

Granby Enterprises Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Granby Oil and Gas plc
(ticker symbol GOIL), which recently listed on AIM raising 10 million in order
to fund exploration drilling on its North Sea prospects.

Granby is an oil and gas business focused on exploration in carefully selected
areas in the North Sea and elsewhere, and also on securing production and
development, initially in the Galoc field in the Philippines.

The Group's strategy is to build a significant portfolio of assets through the
discovery and exploitation of oil and gas reserves. The Group was formed from
the combination of Granby Enterprises and Team Oil, two independent companies
which were closely associated and which since June 2004 have had common
management teams and ownership.

The combined management team includes five former executives from Enterprise
Oil plc, one of the largest independent companies operating in the North Sea
during the 1980s and 1990s.

Granby's portfolio and plans

Granby is planning a multi-well programme for 2006 on a number of its other
North Sea prospects.

The current asset base of Granby comprises interests in six UK offshore
licences spanning a total of ten blocks and part blocks in the Central North
Sea, and containing eight prospects generated by the Company with an unrisked
potential, excluding Marquis, of 259 million barrels.

In addition, the company is in the process of finalising negotiations for
access to a potential offshore oil field development in the Philippines.

This has not cost GOIL a penny but I suspect the sp will suffer tomorrow. They still imho a good company with a great management behind them. I will be keeping hold of my shares as there are plenty more prospects for them.
Also they ahve said they are in the process of finalising negotiations for
access to a potential offshore oil field development in the Philippines.
What are your views fellow Goilies?

syd443s - 29 Jun 2005 17:07 - 75 of 138

What affect do you think this will have on the share price wilbs?

gavdfc - 29 Jun 2005 17:09 - 76 of 138

Wilbs,

Not a holder myself, but if I was, I'd be seriously hacked off that they held back on releasing this news until 4.30 when the market had closed. Can't comment on the rest of GOIL's prospects as I haven't looked at them. Even though this well was at no cost to Granby as the RNS states, I think it will be marked down quite sharply at the open. Just IMO.

syd443s - 29 Jun 2005 17:18 - 78 of 138

What will the price open at tomorrow? will it open the price it is now and go down as people sell or will it open with a completly different price? how does it work? Thanks peoples.

In for the long term it was only a finder well which most of them are failures, the company still has lots of assets.

proptrade - 29 Jun 2005 17:20 - 79 of 138

will open a leg down

gavdfc - 29 Jun 2005 17:20 - 80 of 138

Got to say I agree with what Prop's saying, wouldn't inspire confidence in management for me. If it gets marked down a lot then it may encourage further selling and increase the fall of the sp.

proptrade - 29 Jun 2005 17:25 - 81 of 138

not as bad as BA announcing layoffs a couple of general elections ago! expect anying less than a 30% decline as a result...sorry wilbs and Co. i sincerly hope they recover quickly.

wilbs - 29 Jun 2005 17:45 - 82 of 138

I think it will be marked down as there may be a few sells go through before the market opens. As syd says, its only a finder well and theres more wells to explore. Im not worries as im holding term and think the sp will recover after any drop. Next news will be the Philippines.
The weather is crap in Norfolk, thunder, lightning, torrential rain. What an end to a $h1t day!!!!!

Oracles - 29 Jun 2005 18:18 - 84 of 138

Yeah I mean nothing has really changed with Granby, its not cost them a penny and it was only a finder well. I mean they have developed a highly attractive UK North Sea exploration portfolio with net prospective resources of 281 mmbbl (risked net prospects of 59 mmbbl) and are one of the leading new generation UK North Sea exploration businesses.

read somewhere that finder wells are given odds of something like 5 to 1 for sucessfully finding oil.

Oh well only tomorrow will tell. Am holding anyway, might even be able to buy some more if they go any cheaper :-)

Hi all.
This is from the Guardian. I don't agree that it was an embarrassment for the broker, after all, they don't have crystal balls!!

Among the small caps, Granby Oil & Gas was the main talking point. Shares in the "new generation" North Sea explorer slumped 48.5p to 81p as the City reacted to Wednesday's late news that its first well contained nothing but water. The news will be something of an embarrassment for broker KBC Peel Hunt which brought Granby to Aim just over two weeks ago at 84p.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/story/0,3604,1518685,00.html

That was a good find Oracles, thanks for that. Like you say, it puts it in perspective. IMHO I think the sp will recover very soon to 100p, even more so when we get nearer the update on Galoc development. Nothing has changed, still a good company.

Hi wilbs,

Something that might be of interest I have just got off the phone from someone at Granby today to see what we can expect in the short term. Basically nothing new was mentioned because this might be price sensitive but was mentioned was they are in the final stage of finalising the Galoc offshore oil development in the Philippines, and that these are already known to contain oil and that this may be the next item of positive news to released.

wilbs - 16 Jul 2005 08:47 - 117 of 138

Done andy.

syd, this is an extract from the team oil website but it now directs you to GOIL website.

"As an example of our capabilities Team Oil has negotiated a farm-in to a highly attractive but technically challenging proven oilfield discovery in the Far East region. Team Oil is working with the existing owners to develop the Field. Team Oil has prepared a development plan and sub-surface study to operate the field and is putting together a financing structure to drill a minimum of two wells with production facilities operating in the region of 25,000 bopd. First oil is targeted for the third/fourth quarter of 2005."

As for price rise, I guess it depends how the market takes the news when its released. GOIL rose steadily for about 2 weeks on no news until the news from the north sea & then sunk. Maybe we will see the same thing again but when the news is released it will go north this time.

What are everyone elses thoughts?

North Sea licences to be announced

MoneyAm:

The government will tomorrow award more than 150 North Sea oil exploration licences, the largest number in more than four decades.

The Financial Times reports that the results of the 23rd licensing round, to be announced by energy minister Malcolm Wicks, will not be finalised until this afternoon.

'This is still a very active market,' Wicks told the FT. 'The North Sea is still tremendously important and will be for several decades to come.'

More than 20 of the companies granted licences are new to the UK continental shelf, it added.

That is in part the result of government efforts to attract so-called 'scavengers', which can profitably exploit smaller fields left behind by the larger oil companies.

The surge in demand comes in spite of UK production being in decline. Depending on the estimates, between half and three-quarters of the resources in the ground have already been extracted. The remaining oil and gas fields are far smaller and more difficult to exploit, though extraction technologies have improved.

Granby Successful in North Sea Licensing Round

Granby Oil and Gas plc is pleased to announce that it has been offered 12 additional blocks and part blocks to be held under six licences in the North Sea as part of the 23rd UKCS Licensing Round announced by the DTI. Granby received one of the highest number (11) of operated blocks for an independent company.

This award takes Granby's acreage position in the North Sea to 22 blocks and part blocks in total, and has significantly strengthened the company's presence in its existing core area in the central North Sea, and brings the company into the Southern Gas and Firth of Forth basins for the first time. A number of the blocks offered are adjoining Granby's existing licences, where cross boundary prospects had previously been mapped.

Granby has been offered one traditional licence with a seismic work programme, and five promote licences with work programmes including reprocessing and re-evaluations of pre-existing datasets. The geophysical company TGS-NOPEC is a partner with Granby in a number of the promote licence awards. Faroe Petroleum plc (as operator) is also a partner with Granby in one of the awards.

The offered blocks and initial interests are as follows:

Block Numbers Licence Type Granby Initial Partners
Interest

14/8 (part); 14 Traditional 100% (operator) n/a

/9 (part)
13/25 Promote 50% Faroe Petroleum plc

Applications for blocks 13/25, 14/9, 43/7 and 44/27b are covered by an existing Acquisition and Alliance Deed, under which Elixir Petroleum Ltd has the option to be assigned one half of Granby's interest in these blocks.

Commenting on these awards, Managing Director David Grassick said:

"These awards enable Granby to continue its successful strategy of building a significant portfolio of assets through the discovery and exploitation of oil and gas reserves in the North Sea. The new plays and prospects in this acreage have increased the value and diversity of our portfolio significantly."

Executive Director Richard Moreton added:

"We are very pleased with these awards which enhance Granby's presence in the Central North Sea and add a number of exciting new prospects to the company's inventory. We look forward to working with our new partners, TGS-NOPEC in the Southern Gas Basin, and with Faroe Petroleum in the Central North Sea."

Martin Whitehead, Exploration Director of Granby Oil and Gas, said:

"This is an excellent result for Granby's exploration team, in a very competitive licensing round. We are pleased to have been offered so many blocks with only modest work obligations, demonstrating the quality of our technical work for the applications."
