Giant Step and Ki-Bi Partner to Release Mobile Content Card in the US
Giant Step and Ki-Bi today announced a partnership to release Ki-Bis mobile content card containing Giant Step related music and promotional opportunities. The card will be used as part of Giant Steps activities to celebrate its 15-Year anniversary. It will be activated for a 15-week period starting September 5th and will offer ringtones, sweepstakes, music downloads and wallpaper.
The Ki-Bi mobile content card is a physical device and server platform for the retail and distribution of mobile content. To access content from a Ki-Bi card, customers dial the Ki-Bi service (an 800 number), hold their card up to their phone and press the button relating to the content they wish to receive. An acoustic tone is played which triggers the download of content to the phone from the central server.
Ki-Bi was launched in Europe in 2003 and to date has relationships with global leaders in the mobile market such as Ericsson, Orange, O2, MTV, Ericsson, Siemens, Sun Microsystems, Motorola, mForma, and Glu Mobile (formerly Sorrent), Gameloft and others. Ki-Bi was listed publicly in London (LSE:KIB) in May 2005 and raised about $20m at the time of listing. In the US, Ki-Bi is already penetrating the market with a deal with Sun Microsystems and will continue to target content providers.
Maurice Bernstein, CEO and Co-Founder of Giant Step commented, Giant Step is very excited to be part of Ki-Bis initial launch in the US. As a music marketing company we are always looking for innovative ways to promote new content and we view the Ki-Bi card as an excellent vehicle in the expanding mobile space. Giant Step has taken this opportunity to promote content relevant to our current music promotions. In the future we will be partnering with other record labels seeking to increase the shelf-life of a new release and create meaningful experiences with their fans.
Ehud Levy, CEO and Co-Founder of Ki-Bi commented, This partnership is an extremely significant development for us as we launch in the US. To have Giant Step as one of our first partners is an affirmation of our aim to distribute quality content into the mobile space in a manner that is easy for all. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Giant Step.

CS's take on ki-bi's price action recently....
Ki-Bi
Floated in May this year, Ki-Bi provides solutions that enable physical distribution of mobile content. The electronic Ki-Bi card orders entertainment services direct to your mobile handset establishing a channel that contrasts with the virtual routes to market that currently dominate.
Network operators, handset manufacturers, sports and media groups and retailers are among the companies discussing with Ki-Bi the purchase of their cards.
So with mobile content sales booming, market consolidation amongst distributors rife and initial interest in Ki-Bi solutions strong why have the shares fallen so dramatically since float? Lack of near term announcements and a fall in confidence in the managements ability to deliver.
Although news of contract wins has not been forthcoming, the company remains confident of its ability to generate c.$6m of sales to December 05. Most of these sales they anticipate will fall in the later stages of the year. The cards primary use will be promotions and marketing campaigns ahead of the Christmas sales period, so consequently the bulk of orders are not expected until October onwards.
The company has 40p per share of cash (8m) - it's current level. Enough cash to support Ki-Bi for over 2 years without a single sale.

Another advantage of the Ki-Bi method is you do not get malware and viruses on the phone, which is now starting to happen;

Some stronger buying volume today which you would expect as the price has gone down to cash level. For KIB I would expent plenty of news flow in the last quarter of the year and its already started with the Giant Step contract, and getting a foothold in the US market was always one of the key issues for much larger growth from Ki-Bi.

squidd my reasoning here is that we are due to enter their most busy time of the year, the price has slumped on no news (and not bad news) so all the positives remain. We should be entering into a period of solid news and a trading update so should be good.

PpP: Over coffee, have enjoyed reading your header, surely these are the best on the BB and very persuasive, but I have to conclude that KIB is not for me.
It is an area of technology that I do not use nor understand and in any case, I'm not too keen on relatively young companies.
My portfolio is focussed mainly on recovery stocks, ones like ELA which has fallen off a cliff, or those which are down 99% from earlier peaks such as PCM or ULT, where any rises can quickly cancel out a lot of failures elsewhere.
So I was more interested in your recent attention to BSP and PNC as these seem to be exciting recovery prospects, both apparently being revitalised and enjoying high average trades with tiny market caps. I have already taken a stake in PNC and will now be watching both closely.

squidd PNC will remain volatile until the rest of the 55 million shares worth of loan notes not in the directors hands are converted, but there are gains to be had.
BSP is a very exciting prospect and could rocket on news of confirmation of the deal for the 25% stake in GeoSim. Even if it does not go ahead then BSP will have to account for the fact that presently the value of GeoSim on their books is nowhere near what the "Firm" have offered for half of that stake, let alone the value then of the full stake that BSP have.

Reuters using Ki-Bi cards
Reuters Opts In to Mobile Promo
At Advertising Week, Reuters passed out an interesting promotion for mobile users at a handful of events. I was given a credit card-size handout wrapped in plastic. At first glance I assumed it was a pocketsize schedule of events, possibly a map labeling locations of panels, keynotes and other points of interest.
As it turns out, it was an agenda, schedule of events and parties, and news from Reuters, just in an unexpected format. The card contained a chip that, when played into the handset of a mobile phone, sent text messages with the requested information. It was certainly a useful tool for a hectic week with events and appointments spread out across town.
The technology behind the promotion was provided by a company called Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies.

A good update from greengiant at AFN;
greengiant - 4 Oct'05 - 15:33 -
papal - apologies for not getting back to you earlier. Have followed up my e-mail with a tele conv with the company and here is the gist of my conversation
1) Concerns over publicity / lack of news flow. The company will not release any RNS unless they represent a significant peice of news. They are not in the habit of releasing news for everything and sundry.
2) They are not happy with the level of penetration in the UK and are looking to rectify this as soon as possible through alternative distribution channels.
3) The increase in costs is driven by 2 factors - R&D which has now been completed, which was to convert the server technology to decode 3G cards and increase in marketing costs which are all ready showing benefits. Lots said about a standing start etc etc
4) Margins are actually improving on the product, in comparison with H2 last year v H1 so any additional revenue should cover Overheads fairly quickly.
5) US is seen as a key market and progress in that market is being made at a fairly rapid rate
6) No reason for the share price decline - it is undervalued.
Lots of other techy stuff which I didn't understand, but sounded impressive. They have also addressed my concerns about ringtones not changing and I can confirm that this week they have.

The good news was also that they are making good progress in the USA as this is a market thats growing rapidly and not defined in terms of delivery and if they are making good progress as has been said the effects of that could be huge and an area they look like they prioritised for investment in early 2005 to gain the benefits.
Mobile Content Growing, Expected to Soar
According to a Wall Street Journal report, faster carrier networks, flashier handsets and consumer interest are driving the growth in mobile content including games, music, and news headlines. As carriers continue to upgrade their wireless networks and manufacturers continue to offer devices with more functionality, consumers can expect more start-up companies offering a wide-variety of mobile content. While the use of mobile content is currently greater in Asia and Europe, the U.S. market is growing rapidly with analysts expecting sales of mobile data to reach $8.4 billion in 2006.

A good day I think today, after the bid/offer was dropped to 32/34 after a single sell of 10,024 the rest were all buys at 33/34 and the bid and offer ended up from the opening drop. Some nice buying which might indicate we are going to get some more good news soon.
Given the delayed reporting and T's I make it just the 10,024 sell / rest are buys.

O2 TO DISTRIBUTE KI-BI CARDS
THROUGH ITS ONLINE CHANNEL
Music content cards to be bundled with leading handsets including, Sony
Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola
Tel Aviv, 19 October 2005, Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies, the mobile content
distribution specialist, today announces that the UK's premier mobile operator,
O2, will bundle Ki-Bi cards across the top four selling handsets currently being sold through its Online channel @
www.o2.co.uk/shop
. Ki-Bi will supply 50,000 cards to be used, in the first instance, across handsets including Samsung, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
The O2 Ki-Bi cards will contain a range of music content from a series of
genre-based cards, covering music styles such as Urban, Dance and Indie/
Alternative. The cards will contain a range of premium rich mobile content such as ringtones, full track music, video clips and official artist voicemail
greetings as well as a link to O2's WAP service O2 Active. Revenues from the
cards will come from premium rate content downloads with income split between
the various parties.
The Ki-Bi mobile content card is a physical device and server platform for the
retail distribution of mobile content. To access content from a Ki-Bi card
customers simply dial the Ki-Bi service, hold their card up to their phone and
press the button on the card relating to the content they wish to receive. The
card then plays an acoustic tone which triggers the download of content to the
phone from the central server.
Richard Cohen, European Sales Director of Ki-Bi, said: 'This deal brings
together high-quality, premium mobile content along with a hugely powerful
distribution channel. Ki-Bi can provide a unique bridge between content
providers and physical distribution channels such as O2 Online, whereby all
parties can maximise their revenues from mobile content sales.'

Don't you think you are flogging a dead horse with this..both here and on iii you seem to be the only one interested and anyway the price has dropped from 98p on day 1 to the present 32p. It's tech, overseas and tiny.

That is what makes it interesting, I am holding now at average of upper 30's and the directors have said after the fall to 50p no business reason for the fall. They are expected to report a good profit for full year ending 31st Dec so the more contract that come in the better, a good EPS figure for full year will be , and they have stated before they are on course for 6M US$ full year revenue (that was before the landmark Canada deal and the Australasia deal ahead of schedule).
For this to get noticed all it will need is a tip or a decent full year profit figure and then away it will go.
A lot of the shares that rise well are not featured on BB's until after they have risen or get tipped (so I am happy to talk to myself at the moment)

Forget to add they have cash in the bank of 40p per share (and you do not even get a cash shell trading at cash or less), so at the present price the business is free and so is some cash, and its now into their busy Q4 where they turn over multi millions.

Yes, and with the trading statement today I will be talking to myself for another 10 months I can see.
It should take panic drop and it will be an over reaction. What must be remembered is that this listed at 100p, at just over 50p there was a "no business reason for the fall" and now after a few panic sells last thing its 30p.
Cash in the bank in June was equiv to 40p per share, even carrying over the same loss for the second half (which it should not be), they would finish the year with over 30p cash in the bank.
What we should be seeing now is a realisation of the need to carry over key Q4 sales into H1 next year (if you are having a bad year then have a really bad one but end with over 30p cash in the bank and then have a really good 2006) this is in the line of realising key revenue next year.
Therefore my take is that end of year accounts will show 30p per share cash in the bank after year end losses but major sales Q4 05 taken into H1 06 and interims for H1 06 will show a profit.
Should trade now around the cash per share level and will go up depending on the flow of contract news. Not a major panic as its priced in now already and means a good chance to average down now for present holders. With the move of sales revenue into 2006 there should be a lot of interest before interim results but that is some time away now.
At present given some sales and historic burn rate they should have around 35 to 36p cash per share in the bank and I would guess by year end (Dec 31st) around 32 to 33p cash per share in the bank and then rolling into a bumper H1 06 figures should provide quite a run at that time.
PapalPower

The major problems were already highlighted in the earlier gg post as being Phones4U. Tuck them away and look forward to good 06 figures !
We should be getting a lot more major deal news coming through, in some ways they have done the decent thing and told everyone most of this revenue is going to be reported in H1 2006 figures, so do not get too excited and carried away as you have to endure poor 2005 full year figures which will be much lower than expected before you see the monies from the deals to be announced in the coming months at H1 06.
As the earlier CS take said for half year this year, they can go a complete 2 years (10p off cash per half year from the 40p they had in June) with no sales at all and no revenue. They have got sales so the burn for H2 05 will not be the full 10p (this is why I suggest over 30p a share cash at this year end in the bank).
Disappointed a bit, but can understand the reasons, by taking payments in Q1 06 for most deals in Q4 05 it will make 2006 a bumper year (depending on what comes in as H1 2006 revenue from Q4 05 they could be looking at reporting a 1000% revenue increase from H1 2005 to H1 2006 and that makes headlines ;) )

PapalPower - 7 Nov'05 - 13:28 - 267 of 269
from the move up today you would say its a buy order, so very interested how the on line limits have changed, if at all, from last week. That will be the only pointer to buy to sell as the price can hide it.
roodboy - 7 Nov'05 - 13:57 - 268 of 269

you may well be right about a big buy order being worked through the system
online limits are looking very good - i guess this is what is holding the price up - can sell 10 times more than can buy!
can buy ONLY 3,750
cn sell 37,500
PapalPower - 7 Nov'05 - 14:00 - 269 of 269
I thought the 30p 250K trade was a buy.
Someone is building a big stake in KIB, and why not, as this time next year the price could be more than double after exceptional interims.
Its being disguised by trades at mid and under mid, but its being worked through for someone.

Latest update from www.armshare.com
"In October, agreement was reached with The Source (Canada's largest electronics distributor with 900 stores) to supply 100,000 Rogers Wireless (Canada's largest mobile operator) branded cards offering mobile content such as ringtones. Rogers Wireless handsets are the only make of handset supplied by The Source. Later in the month, mobile operator, O2, agreed to bundle Ki-Bi cards (providing access to mobile content) across its four top selling handsets. Ki-Bi will initially supply 50,000 cards - the customer holds these up to the phone and then presses the button relating to the content required, which is then downloaded to the phone from the central server. Revenues from premium rate content are shared between the various parties involved.
A November update reported that progressing major transactions is taking longer than anticipated, with the result that sales for 2005 will be significantly below the company's perception of market expectations.
Research Standing
A fallen star since its IPO in May 2005, but well financed - worth tracking future progress."

TORONTO, Ontario--(CCNMatthews - Nov 7, 2005) -

Technologies Limited (LSE:KIB) (Ki-Bi) announce today that SilverBirch's
wholly owned subsidiary SilverBirch Studios Inc. and Ki-Bi have entered
into a mobile content provisioning partnership. Under the terms of the
agreement, Ki-Bi will source ringtones, graphics and games from
SilverBirch Studio's library of mobile content for its white-labelled
mobile content cards.
Ki-Bi will launch its first program in Canada with a major consumer
electronics retailer in late November. Ki-Bi provides technological
solutions for wireless operators, consumer brands and retailers to
physically distribute and market content and applications for mobile
handsets.
Gary Yentin, Vice-President of Ki-Bi said, "We are pleased to be working
with SilverBirch. We are impressed by the depth and quality of the
SilverBirch content catalogue. We look forward to expanding this
relationship as we undertake much larger programs in the US."
"This new relationship represents an exciting step forward for
SilverBirch and opens up a new sales channel for SilverBirch mobile

see potential for this concept as it provides wireless operators,

About Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies Ltd.
Ki-Bi provides innovative technological solutions for physical
distribution and marketing of content and applications for mobile
handsets. The Company's business model is based upon the sale of
electronic content cards ("Cards") and sharing of the revenues from the
content distributed through the Cards. As of May 2005, Ki-Bi is publicly
traded on AIM in London (LSE:KIB).
Content, such as ringtones, music, video and games for mobile handsets,
is currently distributed mainly by over-the-air downloads into handsets,
but there are technological, logistic and marketing barriers to
traditional physical distribution of such content via retail outlets.
Ki-Bi provides a solution for the physical distribution of mobile
content based on a combination of proprietary consumer electronics
devices and central management server systems.
Ki-Bi's Cards enable flexibility for customization and production in
mass volumes, elements which the Directors consider are essential in
brand differentiation and content promotion. During the past two years,
Ki-Bi has established relationships with global leaders in the mobile
market such as Motorola, Ericsson, Orange, O2, Sun Microsystems, Siemens
and others. For more information, please visit www.ki-bi.com

Saintserf, KIB is doing ok, but can see continued weakness on them until we get full year figures out of the way and move into interims 06, still a long way away.
VLK yes, but presently brokers have a hold rating, and its one that is valued fairly, but that will move up on a big contract win, and of course after that a broker upgrade.
Leadcom, still bullish on LEAD, the trading update should be in the next 14 days, all pointers are positive, its a growing company, and the price does not reflect that growth at present I think, so I see upside coming to LEAD soon.

VIRGIN MOBILE TO TRIAL KI-BI CARDS IN RETAIL DISTRIBUTION OF MOBILE CONTENT
Virgin Mobile to trial Ki-Bi cards with selected handsets in Q1 06
5 December, 2005: Mobile content distribution specialist Ki-Bi announces that
Virgin Mobile, the UK's leading mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) with more
than 4 million customers*, is to bundle Ki-Bi cards with selected handsets to
assess retail distribution of mobile content.
The Ki-Bi card is a physical device and server platform for the distribution of
mobile content. To access content from a Ki-Bi card, customers simply dial the
Ki-Bi service number, hold their card up to their phone and press the button
relating to the content they wish to receive. An acoustic tone is played which
triggers the download of content to the phone from the content server.
In the post-Christmas promotion period, Virgin Mobile will distribute Ki-Bi
cards to purchasers of targeted handsets sold in its Virgin Mobile Stores
(within Virgin Megastores). Virgin Mobile customers will be able to access
mobile content such as ringtones, wallpapers, games and more. In addition, the
cards will contain a button driving users to Virgin Mobile Bites, the company's
suite of value-added services.
Richard Cohen, European Sales Director of Ki-Bi, said: 'Virgin Mobile is one of
the most dynamic and exciting operators in the UK, and this project demonstrates
its position as one of the market leaders in consumer innovation. Also, this is
an affirmation of Ki-Bi's strategy in assisting mobile operators and content
aggregators to find alternative methods of reaching out to their subscriber
base.'
John Conlon, Marketing Manager of Virgin Mobile, said: 'the Ki-Bi cards are a
great tool for facilitating the consumer download of mobile content. We know
there's an appetite for this content out there and the Ki-Bi cards are an
innovative way of introducing consumers to it in an easy-to-use manner. By
bundling the cards with selected phones we are introducing new customers to
mobile content with a view to encouraging their ongoing usage.'

Ra'anana, Israel, December 13, 2005: Emblaze Ltd, the next generation telecom
vendor group, announces that Emblaze Mobile, its mobile handset design and
manufacturing subsidiary, has acquired a strategic interest in Global Telecoms
Distribution plc. Impact on cash from group reserves is negligible.

year trading history and 100 staff operating mainly from the UK with offices and
operations across Europe. The business enjoys long-term relationships with major
retail, distance-sales and independent dealer channel partners, as well as
networks including 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and others.
The Company is managed by a highly experienced management team led by John
Drinkwater, managing director, and Jim Mann, finance director.
Rationale for the transaction
The transaction is in line with Emblaze Mobile's strategy to become a major
supplier of advanced handsets to European mobile network operators and is
expected to provide the company with greater control and flexibility over its
handset distribution as well as enhance its revenue and margins over time.

Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies Ltd ("Ki-Bi" or "the Company")
AGREEMENT WITH THE CARPHONE WAREHOUSE FOR VALENTINE'S PROMOTION
20 December, 2005: Mobile content distribution specialist Ki-Bi today announces
a deal with the UK's leading mobile retailer, The Carphone Warehouse ("CPW").
Under the terms of the contract, Ki-Bi will provide CPW with 100,000 specially
created CPW branded Ki-Bi cards.
The deal covers two specially created Ki-Bi card types. The first is an
anonymous SMS Ki-Bi card whereby the purchaser will be able to use the card to
send a selection of SMS chat up lines to the object of their affection, entirely anonymously. The second card is intended as a gifting opportunity; a purchaser will be able to customise the content on the card with a selection of their own recorded greetings and clues to their identity, before gifting the card to their choice of Valentine.
The Ki-Bi card is a physical device and server platform for the distribution of
mobile content. To access content from a Ki-Bi card, customers simply dial the
Ki-Bi service number, hold their card up to their phone and press the button
relating to the content of their choice. An acoustic tone is played which
triggers the download of content to the phone from the content server.
Richard Cohen, European Sales Director, Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies, said: "These
two applications really demonstrate the versatility of the Ki-Bi platform. By
offering these creative Ki-Bi treatments, The Carphone Warehouse will be able to put mobile content and communication at the heart of an enjoyable and romantic Valentine's experience."
Jonathan Hook, Strategic Development Director, The Carphone Warehouse, said:
"These cards will give our customers a new and fun way of using their mobile as
part of Valentine's Day. They can either send the object of their affection an
anonymous chat up SMS or else they can give their Valentine a customised Ki-Bi
card as a gift."

LIVERPOOL FC AND CHELSEA FC MOBILE CONTENT CARDS TO BE SUPPLIED BY KI-BI FOR
ORANGE
Premier Football club branded Ki-Bi cards to be distributed to Orange customers
4 January 2006, Mobile content distribution specialist Ki-Bi today announces a
deal with Orange to produce football-club-branded mobile content cards for
distribution to the mobile network operator's customers. The cards, branded as
either Chelsea FC or Liverpool FC, will allow Orange customers who are fans of
these clubs to download exclusive mobile content direct to their mobile phones.
The Chelsea and Liverpool Ki-Bi cards will be sent via direct mail to Orange
customers who have either registered for SMS sports alerts or who are known fans of either of the teams. The content on the cards will be distributed as premium downloads, generating revenues from the fans each time they use the Ki-Bi cards.
The cards will be launched to coincide with the start of the European Champions
League Finals, to which both Chelsea and Liverpool have qualified, in February
2006.
Richard Cohen, European Sales Director, Ki-Bi, said: 'This is a great
application for our cards - football clubs have huge potential for mobile
content, whether that be video, ringtones or wallpapers. Traditionally, this
sort of content would be accessed via a WAP portal from the handset; however by
using the Ki-Bi card, Orange will be able to simplify the download process
resulting in increased download volumes.'
Steve Wallage, Commercial Manager for Sports, Orange UK, said: 'The Ki-Bi card
is a truly innovative solution to the challenge of delivering mobile content to
consumers. By using the cards in conjunction with the Chelsea and Liverpool
brands we hope to offer our customers something that is of real value to them.
As well as directly generating revenue through premium downloads, the cards also offer consumers an easy introduction into the world of mobile content, something that has been proved to have a knock on effect on their ongoing consumption.'

About Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies
Ki-Bi provides innovative technological solutions for physical distribution and marketing of content and applications for mobile handsets. The Company's business model is based upon the sale of electronic content cards ("Cards") and sharing of the revenues from the content distributed through the Cards. Ki-Bi became publicly traded on AIM in London in May 2005 (LSE: KIB).
Content such as ringtones, music, video and games for mobile handsets is currently distributed mainly by over-the-air downloads into handsets, but there are technological, logistic and marketing barriers to traditional physical distribution of such content via retail outlets. Ki-Bi provides a solution for the tangible distribution of mobile content based on a combination of proprietary consumer electronics devices and central management server systems.
The Ki-Bi card, with its high perceived value and mass market appeal, is specifically designed to lead mobile content product categories in the retail and promotional space. During the past two years, Ki-Bi has established relationships with global leaders in the mobile market such as Motorola, Ericsson, Orange, O2, Sun Microsystems, Siemens and others.
