Telspec (TSP)

pthwaite - 22 Oct 2003 20:03

Anyone investing in Telspec?

I appears their recent announcement to move to AIM has prompted a
sharp fall in the share price and recovery is not looking great for
the short term.

Apparantly Telspec is on a PE of 1 IF R&D is not included, so one could
argue that this is a bargain....

Anyone have a views and additional information?

14.5p now

hlyeo98 - 10 Mar 2005 18:50 - 11 of 25

Another day of strong buys - i am sure news of a bid on the way

compoundup - 15 Mar 2005 10:05 - 12 of 25

It does seem rather odd that this company hasn't been snapped up by a larger player. All that cheap cash is rather attractive one would think.

hlyeo98 - 15 Mar 2005 20:42 - 13 of 25

Shares in telecoms equipment group Telspec jumped 4p to 18p despite the group unveiling a swing into losses and a sales slump - as the company is sat on a whopping cash pile. In the 12-month period to December 31st, the company posted a pre-tax loss of 100,000 pounds compared with pre-tax profits of 300,000 pounds in 2003. The profit was earned on sales of 10 million pounds - a massive slump from 2003's 24.8 million pounds. The lower sales result was due to 4 main
factors: the absence of switch sales; the erosion in the market prices; a fire at a manufacturing plant; and lower demand for pair gain products. However, the company's cash pile increased from 2.8 million pounds to 5.5 million pounds. But that was at the year end. Since then, the company has sold its factory in Perth, bringing that up to 6.5 million pounds. Of interest, he current market cap of this company is around 7.4 million pounds. The group was also upbeat on its strategy to tackle the difficult markets. It said the key elements of the strategy were the acceleration of the in-house broadband product developments as well as sourcing of third-party broadband and VoIP products, as well as maximising cost savings.

TSP will go up further today - now 18p

bishopjeremy - 21 Apr 2005 22:48 - 15 of 25

TSP has been rising very nicely in an otherwise dodgy market. No RNS news but has anyone heard anything to account for the very welcome gain?

compoundup - 22 Apr 2005 09:11 - 16 of 25

I haven't. I think that someone has woken up and noticed the healthy credentials. It is also worth noting that this move is on fairly feeble volume. Money for jam at the moment :-) DYOR

"Shares in Telspec added 2.5p to 21.5p today. The word on the street is that the company, which has 6.5 million cash and receivables and 8 million pounds in tax losses and a market cap is 8.7 million pounds, has a number of big broadband deals on the way." from UK-Analyst.com

bishopjeremy - 22 Apr 2005 10:16 - 18 of 25

Thanks for that - TSP now 24p to buy.

compoundup - 22 Apr 2005 11:01 - 19 of 25

Take care - this is very thin.

Minx - 22 Apr 2005 11:48 - 20 of 25

Very rapid rise - Too much too quick always worries me, took profit and cashed in, maybe too early ??

compoundup - 22 Apr 2005 15:49 - 21 of 25

No shame in that. I have added. I want to see this play out.

compoundup - 03 May 2005 14:52 - 22 of 25

It feels like someone is working a large buy order. The price is being walked up by all the MMs today without any reported trades. I'll be looking out for the late-reported trade later

compoundup - 04 May 2005 18:09 - 23 of 25

QED Colin Blackbourn

hlyeo98 - 12 Apr 2006 10:48 - 24 of 25

TSP is not moving up...now 7.5p...is Colin Blackburn still in it?

hlyeo98 - 23 Oct 2006 21:50 - 25 of 25

Good to see him off....

Telspec chairman Duncan Soukup resigns over directors pay dispute
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Telspec said that its director and chairman Duncan Soukup has resigned with immediate effect 'following a disagreement between board members as to directors remuneration'.

Earlier this month, the firm said it was launching a fundamental review of its ability to remain a going concern due to an 'unsustainable' cash-burn rate.
