I think going on the info in shares and the recent company news that the price could increase in the near future, Does anyone think that there is a chance of a large increase?

Never listen to a Company - they are always in good spirits, maybe sometimes it's true but they slid all the way down to current levels, didn't they?
The problem IMHO with these hosting companies is that they are too expensive except for corporate hosting - where the Webmaster's job is on the line and so cost is not his(her) concern. However, at all prices you expect the servers to work 24/7 and unless they have some shakey-gear, why wouldn't they? It is very difficult to separate out those that are good-guys and the Others - using as they do lots of jargon and advertising pitches that are not always quite what they seem....for untrained investors it is a veritable minefield IMHO - look in NET magazine and whilst Host Europe's ads are larger, they are in the same mould as others. It is indeed difficult to see the precise extra value for the higher cost, this is something they need to address.
There is a glut of internet providers and they all claim to be close to No.1 by some measure - however, the Market knows best. If they were to go private etc because of large holdings by Directors ( supposed to be 40%)- then you are in a forced-sale position and effectively wiped out.
The Internet is very difficult to investigate - things are not "real" in the sense that you can walk into Boots/Dixons and check the attitude to customers (etc).
This is not to suggest there is anything untoward with Internet companies, but it means that new investors can't research either. That is the reason IMHO why these stock types are falling. When they start paying a dividend then this will be a measure of the investment...until next time!
IMHO Post-2000 "bubble" investors really want to be able to see, touch, smell and measure their investment - I do, for one!

Headline Trading Statement

HOST EUROPE PLC
Pre-Close Trading Update
Host Europe plc, the internet hosting provider, today issues the
following pre-close trading update to provide an overview of its trading
for the year ending 31 December 2003.
At its AGM in August 2003 the Company stated that it was continuing to trade strongly and was seeing significant new customer acquisition. The interim results published in September showed turnover of 8.2m for the six months to 30 June 2003 and Chief Executive Abby Hardoon stated that the Company was confident of continued growth through the remainder of 2003.
This expectation has been borne out and the Board expects Group turnover for the year to 31 December 2003 to exceed that for 2002 by approximately 24%. Both the UK and German businesses have shown good sales order growth across the product range in the second half of 2003 and a healthy year end sales pipeline should ensure good turnover levels in January 2004.
The Board has continued with its commitment to review and control costs in the second half of 2003 and is therefore confident that the Group's EBITDA performance for the year, before exceptionals, will be in line with, or better than, expectations previously published by the Companys broker.
As stated in the interim results announcement the exceptional Board reorganisation costs of 777,000 reported in the first half represent the full cost for the year. The business has continued to show strong cash generation throughout the second half of 2003.
The Board is optimistic about the outlook for 2004. We are seeing continuing demand for hosting services in the UK and Germany and the company now has the infrastructure and staff in place to exploit this market opportunity.
