The below quote from the Interims last September:-

'The company has been seeking to make an acquisition or to attract additional
investment and the directors are optimistic that they will be able to achieve
one or the other before the year end'.

And this week's news:-

'The Directors confirm that they are currently in negotiations with certain
parties with respect to an equity investment in the Company'.

With Finals next month I think the aim will be to conclude the negotiations as soon as possible with everything wrapped up prior to results. IMO should see exciting developments over the coming weeks and a new chapter in MEQ looms. DYOR as always!

In negotiations with more than one party about equity investment. That is also a v.big positive amongst everything else highlighted. Next step imo would be any interested party putting the equity in, then acquisition via normal routes or reverse takeover. In CN. there was alot of very large buys prior to the latest big rise and hence whilst we wait for further news one of the interested parties may start taking a stake whilst the share price is so low imo.

MEQ's chairman has the pedigree to pull a rabbit out of a hat...the below link (background information) on directors makes interesting reading. We have another individual also Mr Rakesh Patel on board who has been involved in more than 25 AIM transactions.

'During his legal career, he led transactions with an aggregate value in excess of 3 billion, including a real estate acquisition with a transaction value of 600m'.

The chairman is also on the board of Merchant Capital.

'Nicolas is the proprietor of Barton Brown Limited, an FSA authorised corporate finance firm which specialises in small cap fundraising and listing'.

Some more background bearing in mind MEQ's links to Merchant House Group. MEQ has the listing and Merchant House trying to bring asian companies over here. Use MEQ's listing has been the long wait.

20 March 08

Merchant House Group plc is taking a 49% stake in a new venture aimed at bringing Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysian companies to the London market.

Lots of articles seem to be written this year inc. recently too about cash shells. And hence no surprise that MEQ is in discussions with more than one party. Hopefully start of next wave of rises this coming week after consolidation towards end of the week. I would have thought the board would try and conclude the negotiations and any subsquent activity prior to the finals next month. Nearly all the buyers at 0.40-0.55p have kept hold of their shares.

Treacle28 - 19 May 2009 08:23 - 19 of 78

Some strong buying returning again yesterday, next wave of rises maybe on the horizon.

Treacle28 - 19 May 2009 17:55 - 20 of 78

Started rising again with today's rise. May turn out to be another super week again.

Treacle28 - 20 May 2009 08:26 - 21 of 78

These have started rising on minimal buying again, up again today thus far. Last weeks news referred to an announcement in due course.

Treacle28 - 20 May 2009 11:54 - 22 of 78

0.30-0.40p, one to watch now imo.

Treacle28 - 21 May 2009 12:05 - 23 of 78

Got a few more this morning at .35p.

Treacle28 - 22 May 2009 11:49 - 24 of 78

Some decent buys today, 500K + 323K.

Cash shells: AIMs best-kept secret
Article Date: May 21 2009
Oliver Haill

Cash shells offer another way to float
Deciding to take your company public at the moment seems as eyebrow-raising a move as streaking at a national sporting event.

A cash shell might offer a more discreet solution. Essentially, a cash shell is a company with not much more than a stock market listing, some cash in the coffers and a director or two. It can provide a less risky route to the public markets than an initial public offering (IPO).

Treacle28 - 29 May 2009 18:15 - 26 of 78

Picked up another 350K more today. IMO will be likely that negotiations with interested parties will be concluded prior to end of June which is when by the final results have to be announced.

Argy2 - 29 May 2009 18:40 - 27 of 78

Let's hope this is a better performer than your recent disappointment of DISL.Buyers Beware.

MEQ searching for an acquisition for two years now although the first time in long while about being close possibly with the news about negotiations with certain parties with a view to an equity investment in the company earlier this month.

Treacle28 - 01 Jun 2009 08:47 - 29 of 78

Some blue this morning. One to watch imo.
