Galleon Holdings (GON)

banjomick - 15 Jun 2004 08:48

INTELLIGENT INVESTING WITH BANJO,well sort of! (Ed-hmmmm-lol)

Galleon Holdings plc has three key divisions:Galleon Entertainment for entertainment type IP,Croco Worldwide for product IP,Phoenix for interactive TV services for broadcasters in China/South East Asia which includes Robot Information Technology (Lushy Assets ('Yunbo')) who are a wireless interactive platform service provider in China who will work alongside Phoenix to enable GON to hold on to a greater part of the generated revenue and so increase the profit margin......think that's the plan! :-)

This makes Galleon Holdings a 'One Stop Shop' to develop and complete new and existing IP's.

"Chelsea teams up for Chinese soccer show

UK soccer club Chelsea has struck an exclusive deal to make a football reality talent show to be broadcast in China this April.

The Premiership side has signed up with intellectual property company Galleon Holdings and Chinese broadcaster Guangdong TV Sports Channel to launch Pop Idol-style show Super Soccer Star.

Currently in production, the multi-platform programme aims to promote football skills and fitness in teenagers and will target family viewing in peaktime."

"One of the most popular clubs among Chinese soccer fans, Chelsea is already the official football development partner of the Asian Football Confederation's Vision China project, which aims to set up 10 city leagues in China."

"The channel is also one of the official broadcasting partners of the FA Premier League, broadcasting the league's matches into China."

"Galleon Holdings has revealed an exclusive co-production agreement with one of the largest regional broadcasters in China and Chelsea FC for a new multiplatform reality soccer talent show.

Super Soccer Star is currently going into production and is due for broadcast on the Guangdong TV Sports channel in April.

It is multiplatform and the plan is for it to generate revenue from numerous channels and activities including sponsorship, advertising, mobile phone participation, live events, online activities and branded merchandise.

"We believe that Super Soccer Star could become a national show in China and can springboard into other territories in SE Asia," said Stephen Green (pictured), CEO of Galleon Holdings."

"After the first series has been established, Galleon is intending to roll out the format and the brand to other provinces in China and other countries in South East Asia."

Going back, way back to November 2006,thought it worth a re-post:

"Among the most promising is Apollo's Pad. The company hopes that record labels will be able to use this group of animated characters to revitalise their back catalogues. Each character in Apollo's Pad represents a different type of music genre and is brought to life by the latest animation technology. The concept has already had its first major success. Galleon last month signed up Sony BMG, one of the world's biggest music companies, to help launch it."

Probably equally important for Galleon is the interest that John Gildersleeve, the chairman of Carphone Warehouse and deputy chairman of EMI, has shown in the company. He has quietly built up a 6.5 per cent stake in the AIM- listed group. Given the contacts Mr Gildersleeve has from his work on the Carphone and EMI boards, he should be able to help it secure further music and mobile phone industry partnerships similar to the one with Sony BMG."

Qube have updated their webpage:

Apollo's Pad is not like anything you'll have seen before. It's an online comedy series for young adults shot with puppets.

It's based around a dive of a night club run by Apollo, a lecherous disco throwback, with questionable patrons that include wannabe gangstas and 'ladies' with penchants for alcohol and prescription drugs.

Part of our brief was to produce the Apollo's Pad website, which now features daily episodes, and will shortly host a stand up comedy feature in which anyone can be the star.

We are also working on the show's online marketing and PR, which is covering all aspects of social media. You can see some of it for yourself - check out the Apollo's Pad YouTube channel, Bebo profile or join our facebook group

Did we mention it's funny? Really funny. Go and watch the webisodes (updated daily) and if you like them, sign up and leave a comment.

"He continued, Many projects within Vision Asia, a great example being Vision China, have proven that Vision Asia works. In order for a long-term sustainable development, we need commercial investment, and I am delighted to welcome Chelsea Football Club as our first development partner where the commercial opportunities of the Vision Asia project have also been addressed.

AFCs motto is The Future is Asia and now is the right time for Chelsea to play our part in that future. Chelseas involvement is about developing and building success, not buying success or taking the money and running from tours of the region. This philosophy is directly compatible with AFCs plans.

From what Ive seen today of AFCs development programme, Vision Asia, football in this region has the ambition and ability to challenge European football from the grassroots upwards. That type of global regional competition can only benefit the football family everywhere. If Chelsea can help achieve this through involvement in areas such as grassroots, youth, coaching, education, marketing, sports medicine, media and fans this will bring long-term benefits to us all.

A few notes but not of the musical kind:

Group revenue up 240% to 4.5m (year end September 2007)

Croco revenue up 258% and already has an order book for 4.75m for 2008,so by my reckoning GON as a whole are up 250,000 just with Croco and in the first 4 months!

Final Reasults (year ending 30 September 2007)

In October 2007 GON announced a placing of 8m at a price of 29p per
share which were bought by both institutional and other investors. The initial purpose of which was to acquire Phoenix Investment Global Limited (Phoenix).

Phoenix specialises in the provision of interactive broadcast television
services which allow broadcasters in China and South East Asia to provide
interactive entertainment that their audiences can access through TV, online and mobile. Its customers are leading broadcasters such as Hunan ETV,Hunan
Satellite,Guangdong Sports Channel (China) and Media Prima (Malaysia).

Phoenix and placing of shares

During this relatively short time Phoenix have gained two Interactive agreements with the major TV stations in Malaysia.

Interactive TV Agreement with TV3 - Malaysia's largest broadcaster

Interactive TV Agreement with Metropolitan TV and CH 9

Soon after this GON announced the acquisition of a wireless interactive platform service provider in China which will provide direct revenue from the work Phoenix obtains.

Acquisition of Wireless Interactive Platform Service Provider in China

Keeping on the Far East theme GON recently announced a co-production agreement with Chelsea FC and Guangdong TV (Region of China) to produce and air (April 2008) a live action soccer talent show "Super Soccer Star".

Galleon launches Soccer Show in China with Chelsea F.C. and Guangdong TV Sports

Skunk Fu-GON hold 15% of the equity along with owning the global merchandising and licensing rights for this IP (excluding German speaking countries).
Not a lot needs to be said as far as the brand is concerned as it is truly global!
Merchandise is mostly going to be via Croco (owned by GON) with anything else duly licensed through GON.

Apollos Pad-This is a wholly owned IP by GON and is at a very exciting stage with the new webisodes now on the web site along with GON attending MIPTV in April 2008 to hopefully make deals and so enable the TV link to complete the 360 experience! If this can be achieved then AP will become a global interactive IP with revenue capabilities on various fronts!

http://www.apollospad.com/

Mysti-Deals were made September 2007 for a film version and if you read further into this then a new series is on the cards with more of global appeal and no doubt take the form of the 360 approach but still early days, maybe!

Statement Re. Mysti deal for Feature Film

Sokator-442-All gone a bit quiet here which could be a good or bad sign!Presales have already been made to Germany and Australia (as was Skunk Fu in early days).Huge potential but await further news.
