I bought shares in this company at 4.5p in September 2003. I see they are rising. Can anyone tell me please the growth potential for this company as they have just been awarded several new contracts ?

Good morning Sue
Just to confirm that not only are Gresham the PR agents for CMS, if you try to speak to Bob Antell at CMS whilst he is out peddling his wares, you will in all probability be routed through to Neil Boom (Gresham)as indeed I was last week. Your efforts are very much to be admired and appreciated. Cristmas is a coming, the goose is gonna get fat we hope!!!

Smaller companies spotlight
Pat Lay's
small caps, This Is Money
4 December 2003
EACH week, former Fleet Street City Editor Patrick Lay keeps This Is Money readers up-to-date with a neglected, but exciting sector of the stock market - smaller companies.
AS predicted here, CMS Webview is seeking to raise 2.5m through a placing to help increase the marketing of its main Transactional Data Interface product, including in the US market. Meanwhile, Nidera UK, a leading supplier of cereals, oilseeds and proteins to domestic and international markets, has become a subscriber to ProphetX the groups market price display system.

Source Yesterday's The Guardian Newspaper:
Shares in CMS WebView added 2.25p to 12.5p as the real-time market data specialists announced a deal with Sweden's Cinnober that will see the two companies collaborate in the sale, marketing and management of Cinnober's over-the-counter trading platform, CScreen.
Analysts are hoping the deal will turn into a money spinner for CMS, which last month announced plans to raise 2.5m in a placing to institutions.

A fourth market maker (KBCS) has appeared today which is a very good sign for this share. Should lead to improved liquidity and narrowing of the spread over time.
I wonder how much book building they have been doing over the last week or so in preparation for making a market?

nathan7, apart from that already mentioned, additional MMs dilute the power of the other MMs by introducing an alternative buyer/seller of the stock. So from a power base of 3 effective controllers of the market in CWV there are now 4 controllers.

happy2watch & nathan ....the more I think about KBCS coming on board...the more I think something big is going to happen soon....no market maker would take on the extra cost of trading a stock that 3 are already making money on...if they expected volume to dry up and the stock to tread water...and one thing's for sure they will have done their own research !!!

After the interest and buying volume in CWV over the past few weeks....I think the placing is going to be heavily oversubscribed without any further news required....so the speculation of the placing being at the worse case scenario of 8.3p just does not stack up.....
I would not be at all surprised if the directors play a very smart game here and actually raise less than ?2.5m now for far less dilution.....lets say for example ?1.5m for a further 10m shares i.e. at 15p each.....announce further TDI and ProphetX sales in the New Year...and come back in 3-6 months time for a further amount at a much higher price....remember it was very non-specific in the RNS....axe has pointed this out several times now !!!
:
The Company is today sending to shareholders a circular which includes a notice
of an extraordinary general meeting convened to seek their approval to increase
the authorised share capital of the Company and to authorise the directors to
issue and allot ordinary shares on a non pre-emptive basis, including up to
30,000,000 new ordinary shares specifically for the Proposed Placing.
The subscription price of any new shares to be issued under the Proposed Placing
has not yet been agreed, but is expected to be at a discount to 15.25p, the
Company's mid-market share price at the close of business on 28 November 2003.
The number of shares actually allotted under the Proposed Placing may be
significantly less than 30,000,000, depending on, inter alia, levels of demand
and the subscription price agreed with new investors.
