Dowgate Capital - Capitalising on the booming AIM market (DGT)

overgrowth - 09 Feb 2005 20:52

Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting in the middle of a goldmine!

This company through their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year. Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund placements on behalf of the companies they represent.

On first sight, the fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think again!

DGT bring new companies to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated" on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring income).

Because DGT also act as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work, they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash to speed growth.

Current NOMADships: 28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000 per year)

Current on-going Brokerage agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)

For flotations, depending on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000 to 100,000+ For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12% of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000 ! These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket. Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for years, with DGT having to do very little. New clients gained in 2005 are:

Mediazest (NOMAD & broker) Elite Strategies (NOMAD) Process Handling (NOMAD) Poland Investment Fund (NOMAD) Nanotech Energy (NOMAD & broker) Archimedia Ventures (NOMAD & broker) Red Leopard Holdings (NOMAD) Alba Mineral Resources (NOMAD & broker) Intandem Films (NOMAD & broker) Motive Television (NOMAD) IncaGold (NOMAD) Sportswinbet (NOMAD & Broker) Infoscreen Networks (NOMAD & Broker) Mark Kingsley (NOMAD & Broker) Croatia Ventures (NOMAD & Broker) Pantheon Leisure (NOMAD) Firenze Ventures (Ofex Advisor) FlightStore Group (NOMAD & Broker) Euro Capital Projects (NOMAD) Pearl Street Holdings (NOMAD) Worldwide Natural Resources (Ofex Advisor) Dovedale Ventures (Ofex Advisor) Other 2005 work completed:Neptune-Calculus VCT offer for subs of up to 12 million Advisory work for TGM on London Bus disposal for 20.4M Advisory work for Creightons on property disposal Advisory work for Hampton Trust on company restructuring Advisory work for Interbulk Investments on acquisition of Inbulk Advisory work for Fundamental-e Investments on two disposals Advisory work for Designer Vision re: Design Rights against Centurion Electronics

22:45 is late afternoon for The Shark, PTH. You should know that, mate! BTW my baby bear is the 'x' version - slightly harder than his elder brother! :o)

ptholden - 05 Jul 2005 22:51 - 1014 of 2787

Of course, I should have known, you need the extra length!!

;-)))))

snakey - 05 Jul 2005 22:52 - 1015 of 2787

SD, guesstimates are for full year profits to dec 2005 (announcing mar 2006 ??). I hope I`m right in stating that, but nevertheless, to 2005 year end. your earlier estimate of 843,666 still stands, but for those who are interested in this little challenge, any adjustments can be made up to 19th July 2005, as I`m then off golfin` in Ireland for 5 weeks ( 2 touring groups and a bit for meself, mixed with a bit of drinkin` and foodin` !!).
Markus, check my post 729 on 10th June for details and you`re welcome to join the speculation for a free round of golf. I will post a list later this month and keep it safe in the safe. good luck yawl and may god keep us all in the palm of his hand.

Snakey, why didn't you enter the Challenge Event then? It would've been good to have some decent competition, last month!
Anyway what's your handicap?

snakey - 05 Jul 2005 23:15 - 1018 of 2787

me bein` left handed is enough of a handicap, but 19 is the official one. I don`t think I would be good enough for you guys, as I play off anywhere between 18 and 24 depending on the ol` biorythms, quantity of drink the night before and time I get to bed. same as everybody, I suppose, but just couldn`t make Eric`s day unfortunately. maybe next time/year god willing.

markusantonius - 05 Jul 2005 23:45 - 1019 of 2787

Just read your 729 post, Snakey. OK my forecast is this: 1,045,000.

Have you ever played Waterford GC? I walked around a few holes when we had a meal there many moons ago. Beautiful ambience, warm & friendly hospitality. BTW a 19-handicap would've placed you in the middle of our handicap ranges, last month - you should have more self-confidence, mate. It's only a game, after all!

kanebill - 06 Jul 2005 00:00 - 1020 of 2787

This sounds more like a golf society. Can anyone join? Even bona fide DGT investors?

Snakey - my handicap = 21ish - based Middlesex - played Waterford (M40) full year projection of 780k.

This ones a winner anyway.

markusantonius - 06 Jul 2005 00:12 - 1021 of 2787

It went up to over 1.5p in 2004 (when it was known as CFA) and that was based on superspin/hype. So now with a clean slate, a fresh inspired management team and in prime position to maximise the huge potential of the AIM market debutants - I think you could well be right, Bill.........................................?

snakey - 06 Jul 2005 01:01 - 1022 of 2787

dear all, ta for your estimates. all recorded. nearest the `pin` wins, as my guest at Northwood next spring. I could bore you to death with golf courses in Irelend but I specialise in west coast ( near home you see ) along the Atlantic coast where the weather is wild, as is the craic and the ladies ( no offence to anyone meant ! ). Anyone visiting that part and I can recommend some of the loveliest courses you will ever see.

predateur - 06 Jul 2005 06:21 - 1023 of 2787

Snakey
May I add 888,444 as my estimate for the year end profit.
Being a former book-keeper I assume the figure is operating profit i.e before they start playing about with funny things like tax, etc. (did I say funny things !)
Awaiting today's sp. This share could be a fun ride.

snakey - are we doing H1 or full year projections? Sems to be some confusion. Also - is it net profit before tax?

Paulo2 - 06 Jul 2005 08:31 - 1025 of 2787

MA, most of that hype was thanks to City Equities.

stevieweebie - 06 Jul 2005 10:08 - 1026 of 2787

God
This thread may be full of golfers but its a lot more pleasurable on the eye than over the road.
It looks like an episode of Fraggle Rock on speed.
Anyhow god bless DGT and all who profit in her
Stevie

m0dulus - 06 Jul 2005 10:10 - 1027 of 2787

Look at DGT go...wow

stockdog - 06 Jul 2005 10:11 - 1028 of 2787

SW - I love this thread and I gave up golf when I was 7 years old!

Very satisfactory start to the day with SP up 0.035p and moving above the last peak. Also spread has narrowed to just under 10%, much better.

An interesting comment from fraggle rock lol !

"just tried to buy 500k shares and was offered them at 0.8p!!I will try again later if a few more sellers appear.MM's would appear to be short of stock."

stockdog - 06 Jul 2005 10:22 - 1030 of 2787

og - when DGT becomes a proper penny share maybe even more buyers will come in - who knows it might even make Tom Bulford's list in RHPSG. Until then we have to sit back and watch it grow like topsy - oh, what a painful way to make so much money!

BTW - I just noticed the 50dma has just crossed the 200dma, but not sure it's a full golden-cross 'cos the 200dma is flat, not moving up too. But it's got to be at least a silver-cross, innit?

sd

overgrowth - 06 Jul 2005 10:29 - 1031 of 2787

lol! - when do we get to see the platinum cross ?

stockdog - 06 Jul 2005 10:35 - 1032 of 2787

That's when the 200dma moves up though an upwardly moving 500dma!!! Like about 20p within 12 months should do it!
