mg agree with Iain this sort of thing is normally a loose cable, check it at both ends and if you have a DVI-D9 adapter check thats firmly attached to the cable.

My emails arrive satisfactorily on Outlook Express and btopenworld except for the recently added Moneyam Mailer. This comes through on btopenworld as extended gobbledegook including lists of fonts and many things that I have never heard of before. What can I do about this you experts?

Errrr I think so. If not how come I have no trouble with other similar senders?

Llanteg70, you should check as optimist suggests, do you know for sure that the other emails you recive ar html? They could just be rich text or text. If you are sure post an example of what you are getting, I am sure someome here can assist.

Thanks to Optimist for advice and to Spaceman for twisting my arm.
All I can find in help appears to refer to outgoing messages but I have selected Rich text under New messages-format.
Is this likely to do the trick and can I do anything about messages already received?

Llanteg, I don't have access to o express at the month but you are right about the outgoing messages, it may be something in security settings stopping html can you check that? Stopping html can be a good thing so if you want to do that see if the moneyam stuff can be sent as rich or plain text. I an writing this from a mobile device in the street in barcelona so I can't check more at the moment. Good luck I am sure we will sort this problem out for you

Spaceman from a street in Barcelona...I am impressed but perhaps you should be in a tapas bar about now.
Optimist "read all messages in plain text" is unchecked so I am no further forward. I will have to get on to moneyam again I suppose.

Anyone got any ideas as to why my PC would be 'crashing' recently?
It has happened when I have been online each time, but that could
be coincidence.
When it happens both keyboard and mouse wont work
at all. Ctrl,Alt,delete wont work, can't quit out of the screen or
get any response from it at all.
But the really 'dodgy' thing is that the on/off button on the computer
wont operate, it is 'stuck' on, can't be manually turned off,
and the only way to do anything except
sit and look at a frozen screen is to cut the power at source, by
pulling the plug out of the wall socket.
Has happened 4 times this week - getting very worried....
Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks!

Thanks Optimist - I'll buy you a drink in GD's tea-rooms!
Yes loads of free disc space - rotten thing is only 18 months old too and
NO I didn't take out any 'extended warrenty' thing either at the time.
I have run a full virus check and that is up to date too.
I have dumped the excess 'stuff' you can which is cluttering things up
like temp.internet files etc and I've emptied the Recycling Bin!
I will de-frag. next - thanks for the idea - it hasn't been done for
about a month so maybe....
Have checked external connections and cleaned what is accessible externally
but do you mean open the box up and take a look at the internal stuff?
Sorry - I'm one of those irritating people who 'just use' their PC
and have no techno. savy!

Will do Optimist and thanks again for the help.
After de-frag. yesterday appears I have several possibly
corrupted files - brought to my attention as they would not de-frag -
which I am going to look into first before taking the cover off etc.
If I discover anything worth passing on I will post it here for others.
