That Georgie should stick to snowboarding, Falco.
Guess he didn't want to be outRogered.
"The euro shed more than 1% to fall below $1.30 and plunged against the yen on news of the comments."
As far as I'm concerned, both pairs were a short since Tuesday.

Blimey - busy on here today - been busy celebrating Mrs Clearly's birthday so got a shock to see the number of new posts!
Jeff, if you have an Alpari demo account and keep placing demo trades they keep your demo account running for as long as. It's in the faqs.

If you draw 2 lines through the lows and highs from 12 onwards on the chunnelly thing, we're just about diving into the nose now.

Hi
Does anyone trade Fx with CMC S/B I have noticed teh oddest thing on GBPUSD normally (most of the time) it is a 3point spread but then suddenly for no reason it moves to a 15 point spread for a few seconds.
Any ideas?

Yes Sue, I have that at times, happens more on an evening and I'm fed up with it.

The market has been very gappy again this week. They may just be widening the spread for a short time while they try to get a position away themselves.
If that's the case I think you've just got to live with it.

sue42. its something I noticed with them, did mention it on a cmc thread back in december. Think most of the f(X)ucket shops alter their spreads in thin/volatile markets, some of them even had the decency to tell you it might happen, something cmc forgot to mention.
PS happy new year all you fxers, hope you didnt mind hils, just had to go and check out the white stuff for a little while before the french arrived enmasse in feb..... it was nice and fairly quiet, weather a bit mixed, some great powder at times!

Cable must be getting quite toppy in terms of trendline , anticipated cut tomorrow imho though seems to rally with banks and indices which are squeezing the bears til they squeal

Commentary about cable from elsewhere:
Stops are building above the 1.4500 level with short-term traders invoking their god-given right to fade anything resembling a trend. Technically, the pair looks pretty good if it can overcome resistance in the 1.4545/50 area. A break of that zone would target the 1.49/1.50 region again, levels last seen in mid-January.
