Hightone you jest.

The National not at Aintree just ain't right.
You'll be telling me the FA cup Finals coming to Wales next.

Did I ever tell you that my Grandfather was a Racehorse trainer?
Only about a dozen horses, hurdlers in the main.

hightone - 01 Apr 2003 22:15 - 1032 of 23498

He gave up about ten years ago, when I was young I was very good at picking winners, as he had all the books, racing papers etc.
Spent many hours going through past races, horses etc, like most things I guess the more work you put in the more you get out.

However my parents split up when I was fairly young and I drifted away from that side of the family.

I rarely bet now, football sometimes.

LW,

'Tis I who sometimes says "easypeasylemonsqueezy". Although I've got hot lips, I'm not Hot Lips, if you get my drift.

Has anybody seen GoldDog? The Tea Room header seems to have been edited and the game seems to have been abandoned. I do hope that Kylie hasn't upset him with her kiss-and-tell of his floppy ears.

vasey - 02 Apr 2003 08:37 - 1035 of 23498

Good morning, Hilary! Pooch doesn't like the early part of most weeks. Usually more likely to appear Wed-Fri but he may be hiding and nursing his wounds indeed!

hilary - 02 Apr 2003 08:39 - 1036 of 23498

Morning v,

I know he's a lazy dog (a bit like Winston, my dog, in fact). It just seemed a bit odd that a few edits had been made.

hilary - 02 Apr 2003 08:58 - 1037 of 23498

GoldDog ..........

Where are you?

We all love you and we want your puppies!!

vasey - 02 Apr 2003 09:07 - 1038 of 23498

I don't want your puppies, poochy. You keep 'em.

vasey - 02 Apr 2003 17:37 - 1039 of 23498

This is weird. No Pooch, no game and no Socks. Deja vu? Which site have they taken the game to now?! One that won't take us, Hilary.....?

hilary - 02 Apr 2003 17:44 - 1040 of 23498

vasey,

I've just had a look at GD's website and the trade tables are there intact last updated Friday 28th at 5pm.

I don't want to tread on GD's toes (and obviously hope that he resurfaces shortly) but I'll update them and paste them on the game thread in a little while.

Do you think the boys have gone on strike in protest! I haven't seen a bloke-strop of this magnitude for months!

vasey - 02 Apr 2003 17:52 - 1043 of 23498

Ah! Socks, you were hiding.........

Vasey
Not hiding, just trying to catch up with some threads on 'the other' BB. You know I could never ignore you and Hilary.

Let's put the kettle on, I'm thirsty.

hilary - 02 Apr 2003 18:26 - 1046 of 23498

I need something a bit stronger than a cup of tea, Socks. I've just tried to get my head around GD's game ...... it's a nightmare. VRB on the rocks please!

jeffmack - 02 Apr 2003 18:33 - 1047 of 23498

I bought a Mobile Connect card from Vodafone. You plug it into your laptop and you can use the internet from anywhere you can get a signal. You need to take out a GPRS data tarrif as well. I used it today and it is very good. It connects at about 56k and is as good as any dial up modem. I used it to log into GNI and trade today and performance was pretty good. Probably give D4F a go later to see how that performs. Streaming prices on MoneyAM also worked OK.

Not sure what the cost will be but the higher the tarrif you subscribe to the cheaper it gets.

I am most impressed.

Socrates - 02 Apr 2003 23:51 - 1048 of 23498

Well folks, I can't sit here on my own any more. I'm off to bed shortly.

I think I saw GD on the telly, sniffing out arms and explosives in Iraq. If it's not him it must be his double.

Night night.
