Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

TP,

I will take a look into this - are you getting the same as yesterday?

Ian

OK Playboy - all looks fine from this end, but I will get the developers to take a look.

Karl(MoneyAM) - 26 Jun 2003 09:42 - 1045 of 7315

Morning Gents,

I've tested the Heatmaps but can't find any of the problems you've experienced. If you get any error messages can you please post them here, so we can see if we can get to the bottom of this problem.

Cheers,

K.

BrianTrayda - 26 Jun 2003 09:45 - 1046 of 7315

Karl,

1. Leave office.
2. Go to nearest Library or Internet Cafe
3. Connect to AM
4. Goto Heatmap page. (research/heatmap.php)
5. Displays top adverts and then immediately "DB Error: syntax error" and absolutely nothing else.

Karl(MoneyAM) - 26 Jun 2003 09:45 - 1047 of 7315

Ah ha ...

I think I may know what the problem is! A few days ago I re-arranged the heatmaps, changed some defaults and added some new options. If you are accessing the heatmaps through a "bookmark" I'm afraid it probably won't work and may even come up with an error.

Please can you go to :

http://www.moneyam.com/research/heatmap.php

and resave any bookmarks that you may want.

I hope this sorts everything,

K.

Here's the last bit of HTML

&ltLAYER
SRC="http://adserv1.moneyam.com/oasis/oasisi.php?s=34&w=120&h=30&t=_blank"
WIDTH=120 HEIGHT=30 VISIBILITY="hidden"
onLoad="moveToAbsolute(layer34.pageX,layer34.pageY);clip.height=30;clip.width=120;visibility='show';"&gt&lt/LAYER&gt &lt/TD&gt
&lt/TABLE&gt&ltlink rel='stylesheet' href='/style.css' type='text/css'&gtDB Error: syntax error

BrianTrayda - 26 Jun 2003 09:47 - 1049 of 7315

Nope - http://www.moneyam.com/research/heatmap.php
gives the above.

ThePlayboy - 26 Jun 2003 09:48 - 1050 of 7315

I get the heatmap with % change but no prices on the above link!

Karl(MoneyAM) - 26 Jun 2003 09:52 - 1051 of 7315

ThePlayboy,

To get the prices chose "show prices" from the Options selection.

BrianTrayda,

I take it this error only appears on the heatmap page and no other?

Can you try the Sector Heatmap and see if you have any problems.

K.

BrianTrayda - 26 Jun 2003 09:53 - 1052 of 7315

AAAHHHHH!!!!

My shortcut contained parameters to display my required viewing options. So pasting the above into the IE address bar made IE autocomplete and add the previous parameters. Now I didn't see that on screen because the URL input field width is small on my screen. So even though I pasted the above, IE kept going back to the old one.

So the "DB Error: syntax error" was caused by Karl's changes parsing the old parameters and getting cr.p - tut tut no parameter validation Karl? :-)

Oh - forgot - it's all working now. :)

BrianTrayda - 26 Jun 2003 09:55 - 1053 of 7315

And - Yippeee - auto-refresh added.

ThePlayboy - 26 Jun 2003 09:56 - 1054 of 7315

Karl-All ok now thanks, have called off Greg:)

Karl(MoneyAM) - 26 Jun 2003 09:56 - 1055 of 7315

Glad I could have been of service ... I'll remember that people use "old" bookmarks and "autocomplete" from now on ;)

K

BrianTrayda - 26 Jun 2003 10:03 - 1056 of 7315

Karl, the auto-refresh appears to be cosmetic only. Is that correct? :-(

Karl(MoneyAM) - 26 Jun 2003 10:19 - 1057 of 7315

Brian,

Now why would I do that? The auto-refresh is fully functional, your browser may be caching the output. I'll stick some cach-busting in to stop the problem.

BTW if you have more problems, just mail me direct at karl@moneyam.com

Cheers,

K.
