I should think they want an up day for last day of the year, I see it ranging between 10430 and 10455.
Closed yesterdays long for +2 (WOW) made a few on FTSE this morning and +20 on Dow at open.

Jeffmack same analogy as yours my guesstimate being say around tops 10460-10470 region and close on a positive note above say 10450.
Also looking at our ftse reached say intraday high in the morning and then shied off -thats why i think it might do this in ym trading.

Hi all. Was away for the celebrations. Hope you all had a good time.
However I managed to get a long on the Dow Jan future @10428 on the 30th.
The stop is supposed to be 10405 but I can see that that might be hit overnight so have left the previous stop in place until I can watch the action tomorrow.
Happy New Year to you all and lets make it a prosperous one!

Morning all.
Moved my stop up to 10350 as the futures look quite strong.
Will be watching fairly closely today in case of a drop below 10400.

Zarif,
Glad to see that folks here are making use of my daily Stats. So long as the Daily StatsZine is still free, even though it would have been nice to give me credit whenever you post my hard work!
I've got one problem though. Every time someone loads this thread it uploads the table from my site. This distorts my use statistics. Took me quite a while to figure out what was happening.
Could you instead PLEASE post this link:
http://www.tradershelpingtraders.com/asherstatssignup.html
Now anyone who wants them, can receive Daily StatsZine free in their e-mailbox.
Good trading,
Asher

The STOCK INDEXES & MARKETS
The March NASDAQ 100 was higher in overnight trading as it extends
last week's rally, which led to a breakout above this fall's high crossing
at 1457. Stochastics and the RSI are bullish signaling that sideways to
higher prices is possible into early-January. Monday's breakout above
the early-November high crossing at 1457 has opened the door for a
larger-degree rally into early-January. The March NASDAQ 100 was up
9.00 pts. at 1480.00 as of 6:38 AM ET. Overnight action sets the stage
for a steady to firmer opening by the NASDAQ composite index later
this morning.
The March S&P 500 index was higher overnight as it extended last
week's rally and has broken out above the March 2002 high crossing at
1109.10. Multiple closes above this resistance level would open the door
for a possible test of the April 2002 high crossing at 1149.90 later this
winter. Stochastics and the RSI are bullish signaling that additional
short-term gains are possible into early January. Closes below the 10-
day moving average crossing at 1098.73 would be the first sign of
trouble for bulls. The March S&P 500 Index was up 4.30 pts. at 1114.90
as of 6:40 AM ET. Overnight action sets the stage for a steady to firmer
opening when the day session begins later this morning.

zarif, why don't you post Asher's stats as a link and then those that use them can look at them using the link and Asher's site stats won't get updated everytime someone looks at this thread.
It also saves time when the thread loads.

zarif, I've just gone to the site Asher posted. The stats are no longer available except by email. If you want them you have to sign up. It's free.
Me, sober up? What are you suggesting? That I drink excessively?
Actually, today is first alcohol free day in about a week.
I'm going to leave it now till about 8 o'clock to see how things look then.(i'm talking about the Dow, not alcohol!).
When you want to post a website on here, open it in the browser then copy the url from the browser Address bar and paste it into the 'link:' box under the posting box and press 'insert website link'. It is that easy. You will see the html code placed in the posting box.
