That one went down too well, think I had better go before I accidentally have any more.

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 12:30 - 10382 of 23498

Hmm, nobody here, was hoping to introduce myself while sheltering from the red rain, Oh well Ill take the Buddha and my slippers home again and look in at the window later.

chocolat - 27 Jul 2004 13:44 - 10383 of 23498

Welcome to the Baghdad Cafe, doshie - our little oasis in the desert..

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 14:19 - 10384 of 23498

Thank you for the warm greetings chocolat, often I have peered in at the window or open door but, being the retiring type, thought better of entering, still here I am looking for somewhere to prop the buddha and leave my comfy slippers, where would you suggest for the Buddha.

snoball - 27 Jul 2004 14:23 - 10385 of 23498

Put the Buddha on the bar loadsdosh.

chocolat - 27 Jul 2004 14:29 - 10386 of 23498

Hide your slippers, doshie, or poochie-poo will have 'em.

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 14:42 - 10387 of 23498

The bar will be most apt snoball, you may find the Buddha useful yourself on occasion, just leave your tipple in front of the Buddha so that when Bunny gets into one of her cleaning and tidying moods she will think that it is an offering and leave it alone, I often doze off (as you do at my age) and its nice to have your drink still where you left it when you wake up, save becoming confused.

I will heed the warning on the slippers chocolat.

snoball - 27 Jul 2004 16:37 - 10388 of 23498

Presumably you have attained enlightenment, loadsa and are exempt from having
to observe the fifth precept.

zarif - 27 Jul 2004 16:40 - 10389 of 23498

optomistic - 27 Jul 2004 17:10 - 10390 of 23498

Afternoon zarif, obviously very quiet in here too. Is it because the market is depressing us all? We all prefer to be making a bit don't we, but this summer season is just like the past, the FTSE not making much upward progress! I, like many others take positions in stock to hold and sell at a self determined point rather than being day traders. I for one do not understand the methods of being able to buy and sell and make a profit out of a penny or two gain on a stock. Perhaps with my present fortunes it is as well I don't.
I hope you are still around to read my thoughts, enjoy your Earl Grey, an acquired taste, did try it but was not over fond.

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 17:20 - 10391 of 23498

ZZZZZZZ...! Sorry about that Snoball, whats everybody having, as the new aged person, these are on me, Im having a caffe' with grappa, might perk me up abit. as for enlightenment, do you hear the sound of one hand clapping very often, the buddha is there to safeguard the beverage, and to help keep my mind home,
Are there any teacakes left,
Better not they will spoil my tea.

Socrates - 27 Jul 2004 17:29 - 10392 of 23498

AARRRRRHHHHHHHHH thud. OK who left that Buddha lying around? Can't even come in for some nosh without falling over a God these days. What is the world coming to!

Another odd day on the market but some blue amongst the red and green.

What's in the oven, did someone mention tea-cakes? Oh a new boy, hi Doshers, what kept you so long, we're a very friendly bunch in here, until it comes to competition time. Then the knives come out.

optomistic - 27 Jul 2004 17:41 - 10393 of 23498

Afternoon Socs, whats amiss at PTG today? looks particularly unloved.
Hello dosh, welcome but must get rid of the buddha only room for one idol in here and thats the rest of us 'idle' burgers.

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 18:04 - 10394 of 23498

Afternoon Opto, fair call, I'll tuck it under the chaislong, never know when Socs will take to walking on the bar again,

Sorry about the sore foot Socs, should be ok now, unless you get down from the bar and go walking under the chaise.

optomistic - 27 Jul 2004 18:48 - 10395 of 23498

Socs just comes and goes at all hours, but mention Creme de Menthe and generally he is not far away.

loadsadosh - 27 Jul 2004 19:00 - 10396 of 23498

The smell of those toasted tea cakes is making me hungry Opto, time for my rice and lintels, will pop in for my nightcap later, if the rain holds off.

I didn't think that PTG was doing anything unusual, it's behaving quite normally I thought, trading down a bit waiting for the next bit of news. It may well get a small fillip when the BIP is announced as open for business, but probably get a bigger one when scheduled services commence. Bound to be a good press coverage for that. Only one month to go for that, well, and a few days perhaps.

loadsadosh
No problem and since I'm too old and too well covered to limbo dance, I think that under the sofa is a safe place for a Buddha.

optomistic - 27 Jul 2004 19:03 - 10398 of 23498

OK dosh pop in whatever the weather the roof is sound, only thing dry around here later :-))

optomistic - 27 Jul 2004 19:07 - 10399 of 23498

Hi Socs, have a glass of your favorite tipple and tell me, have you heard of any news of the Liverpool site sale, this semms to have been put into the sidelines unless I have missed something.

I've lost track on Liverpool, when it happens it happens. I've long had the opinion that the council there are playing with a marked pack, some big wig in a planning role has just resigned because of it. Don't know the details but smoke and fire, smoke and fire.

Right now a pint of creme de menthe is more important.
