Sometimes when you do a 'save as' there are quality options.

What is the free AVG app like on a Android tablet??? is it reliable or does it cause problems.

Or do people use another AV app like Avast ??

Thanks

Seymour Clearly - 03 Dec 2013 09:23 - 10403 of 11003

Don't know Mega, but I use the Avast free app on my Android phone, and it's fine. No issues at all, have been using it for around a year or so, (possibly longer).

SC,thanks for that i will down load it in a few minutes, was not aware that Android devices could get virus problems,i do have a Android phone so the next logic step was a tablet. So far very pleased with the tablet.

skinny - 03 Dec 2013 09:31 - 10405 of 11003

Same here (Avast/Android phone).

Mega Bucks - 03 Dec 2013 09:38 - 10406 of 11003

Just downloaded Avast, have to admit it does the job rather well. Thanks again for your input.

HARRYCAT - 03 Dec 2013 09:41 - 10407 of 11003

Sorry to throw a fly in the ointment, but as I posted a while ago, I had Avast on my Motorola Defy Android phone and it slowed it down so much that it was unusable. I uninstalled and things got much better. However, this phone does struggle with any complex software, so have taken the plunge and ordered a new Nexus 5, which I am assured is winging it's way from Google Ireland, so I will have a go at installing Avast on that.

Sorry to trouble you busy folks again, can anyone recommend a free reliable daily organiser app.I am thinking that this would be a paid for app but you never can tell,as i am a tight git.

What's wrong with the supplied S planner?

Mega Bucks - 03 Dec 2013 10:04 - 10410 of 11003

@skinny,that was my original plan to use that,it was a trick question that i asked and you have passed with flying colours :-)

skinny - 03 Dec 2013 10:06 - 10411 of 11003

:-)

Seymour Clearly - 03 Dec 2013 10:16 - 10412 of 11003

S planner is excellent. I never knew it was there either until a friend pointed it out.

;-)

skinny - 03 Dec 2013 10:18 - 10413 of 11003

Twits! :-)

Mega Bucks - 03 Dec 2013 10:26 - 10414 of 11003

Just found out that S planner is only available for Samsung phones/tablets mine is a Asus,so that has stuffed that one.

Oh well back to the drawing board.

skinny - 03 Dec 2013 10:30 - 10415 of 11003

Have you looked at google calendar?

skinny - 03 Dec 2013 10:36 - 10416 of 11003

A quick look seems to imply that the Nexus 5 has a calendar app?

"Apps
Google Nexus 5 (Unlocked)Blissfully bloatware-free, the unlocked version of the Nexus 5 comes preloaded only with Google's own array of apps. You'll find such usual suspects as Gmail, Maps, Calendar, YouTube and Hangouts, as well as newer options, like Keep for taking notes."

kimoldfield - 03 Dec 2013 12:26 - 10417 of 11003

What's wrong with a piece of paper and a pencil, oh, and a drawing pin to stick it on the door/wall? :o)

Mega Bucks - 04 Dec 2013 18:59 - 10418 of 11003

My new tablet is finally all up and running,i have a Android phone but this is the 1st time that i have downloaded alot of apps and its made it so versatile with not only WiFi but 3G as well.

Only slight problem i had was installing FireFox but the new beta version works very good.

Thank you all for answering my questions,oh and skinny :-)

Haystack - 04 Dec 2013 20:15 - 10419 of 11003

There is a way of installing Flash for Firefox.

I use the standard Firefox and rarely use the Beta version.
