Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Clocktower - 30 Nov 2018 11:45 - 10411 of 12628

One wonders if TM was always a member of the Fifth Column that was elected to unermine the solidarity of the Countries 52% and ensure the UK continued to be tied to the EU.

Remember the Spanish Civil War when the military revolted against the Republican Government, when they failed to win control a bloody civil war ensued - it is possible the sections of the public could rise up when they finially find out that they have been cheated out of Brexit, treated out of a Clean Break from the EU by the Fifth Column.

ExecLine - 30 Nov 2018 12:10 - 10412 of 12628

The way things are going:

1. I feel alienated against Theresa May.
2. I feel alienated against the senior Brexiteers (ie. JRM, BJ, IDS, other cabinet members who have resigned) for not speaking out MORE STRONGLY so as to:
a. Propose viable alternative solutions to the Brexit plan proposed by Theresa May.
b. Oust Theresa May.
c. Provide suggestions for an alternative leader.
3. I don't like to see TM gallivanting round the country massively pushing her deal to the people at large, when at the same time there are indications 90-100 of her own Tory MPs are going to vote against it on Dec 11th. FFS !!!
4. I also feel somewhat alienated towards my existing MP, Andrea Leadsom, who seems to be sitting on the fence. One minute she is against TM's plan and the next minute she is giving it her support.
5. I am also not happy that TM seems to be alienating the potential military support currently available to be provided by the USA. We do really need a strong relationship with the USA and I currently sense it is under threat.

I have other strong feelings about the state of affairs of Brexit. The above will do for now.

Whisper them in the waiter's year.

cynic - 30 Nov 2018 12:38 - 10414 of 12628

provided you leave a substantial tip, you can whisper whatever you like, in strictest confidence of course

Cerise Noire Girl - 30 Nov 2018 13:43 - 10415 of 12628

Blimey, Doc! If you're angry now, what are you going to be like after the second referendum once you find out you're not leaving the EU?

:o)

ExecLine - 30 Nov 2018 14:07 - 10416 of 12628

:o)

Since just maybe, what you describe IS a possibility.

What I will be like, is joining loads and loads of others who say, "Well, I won't be voting Conservative ever again."

Dil - 30 Nov 2018 14:25 - 10417 of 12628

I'm more concerned today about whether Cardiff can beat Wolves this evening.

I'm having a day off from Brexit , bit like the PM.

EL -" 4. I also feel somewhat alienated towards my existing MP, Andrea Leadsom, who seems to be sitting on the fence. One minute she is against TM's plan and the next minute she is giving it her support."

Is she not like most other MP`s?

Did I not say she was like a lioness hunting with her pride, laying as low as she can, creeping up by stealth to pounce on her victim and try to fight her way to be the next PM.

If TM gets her way, the Tories will be slaugtered at the next election - I do not think she has any idea how much damage she is to the party - as I said a Fifth Columist, or totally deluded.

Mostly, the rest of the MP`s are cowards - that do not have the backbone to support Mogg.

MaxK - 30 Nov 2018 15:58 - 10419 of 12628

SKY: European Council President Donald Tusk has told the G20 summit in Argentina there will be no deal or no Brexit at all if the UK parliament rejects Theresa May's Brexit agreement.

Fred1new - 30 Nov 2018 17:05 - 10420 of 12628

Max.

Don't tell Dil and Cynic that.

They won't be able to sleep until March.

ExecLine - 30 Nov 2018 19:48 - 10421 of 12628

"This is a good deal," says Nigel Farage.

How can people not like what this guy says and not like how he says it?

Senior Conservatives predict that as many as 20 MPs would throw their hat into the ring in the ensuing leadership contest:

After a general election, that number may be greater than the tory MPs reelected.

ExecLine - 30 Nov 2018 20:49 - 10424 of 12628

Could be, Fred. Could be.

But the situation is currently possibly rescue able.

Dil - 01 Dec 2018 00:51 - 10426 of 12628

Fred , Tusk needs our money.

Love to hear his comment to the G20 if we leave with no deal and the EU have a 39 billion black hole in their budget.

But the good news is Cardiff won and are now above Burnley and four other similarly rubbish teams.

Stan , stop praying for a second referendum and start praying for Burnley :-)

cynic - 01 Dec 2018 09:31 - 10427 of 12628

i shall just continue living my life and running my biz whatever happens about brexit

Fred1new - 01 Dec 2018 11:16 - 10428 of 12628

Are you sure?

Fred1new - 01 Dec 2018 12:32 - 10429 of 12628

I suppose she is thinking of the next General Election!

Martini - 01 Dec 2018 16:17 - 10430 of 12628

Thought we would have a long weekend away in Europe whilst we still had the chance. We are in Paris - it is such a beautiful city, it brought tears to our eyes.
