Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Cerise Noire Girl - 04 Dec 2018 08:35 - 10480 of 12628

On verra, Dilbert. ;o)

Clocktower - 04 Dec 2018 08:39 - 10481 of 12628

CNG - It is not about the decision now - it is now about credibility and accountability. Once you ask the people, then you follow their wishes, and not turn and twist to try to get a result that you think is best for the people because they never voted the way you wished they would, on the false basis that they were clueless (even if 48% were).

The public in my view think the EU is nothing more than a parasitic being, that has to be cut off regardless of the short term pain and damage to the body.

The parasite will live off of you, bleeding you dry, better to cut off a limb than be infected for life.

Are you willing to live not knowing if or when the parasitic being will ever leave, or would you rather cut off an arm and know your free from suffering for an unknow period of time, maybe for ever.

EL, I have nothing personal against Fred or any other poster but you cannot deny that Gove stuck the knife in the back of Boris, for his own ends. While he might be a nice bloke, I would not want to fight with him at my back, as I think he would be more likely to shoot anyone in the back than those they are fighting in front of them, if he though he could gain power by doing so, based on his past performance.

Speaking of Fred, he is at least consistent.

Hils :-)

Fred1new - 04 Dec 2018 09:33 - 10483 of 12628

Dil's hope for the future.

Mark Carney at it again with his doom and gloom about City Job losses - the public will not care about them.

Food price up 10% and so on - really happy chap is he not.

Increase in car prices - so he says - if the market slows the competition increases and the prices that you pay might well drop, even if the ticket price rises.

Why do they keep pullimg him in, if it is not to spread fear by providing him with a window of oppotunity to down the UK, if it is not to try to get the public to stay in the EU?

Maybe Trump would say FAKE NEWS!!

"...........but you cannot deny that Gove stuck the knife in the back of Boris, for his own ends."

Perhaps Gove changed his mind about supporting Boris back then when they competed for the Leadership. Just like lots of us are changing our minds about supporting Theresa May now.

JRM has also been EXTREMELY LOYAL towards TM. However, things change and now he has changed his stance.

I don't think you can keep holding stuff like that against someone. We all of us have to move on.

Hils

'on verra' = we'll see. N'est ce pas? By 'eck, lass. Thou art truly much Euro-finated these days. What with spouting off these French phrases and stuff. ;-)

And you really do think we aren't going to leave? Mama mia! Quelle horreur!

My £5 says we are.
My £10 says we are NOT going to have another Referendum on it, either.

EL

You can put whatever spin on it as you wish, each to their own, love is blind but love him or hate him, you know they say "too clever by half" or he could be too smart for his own good, as some on these threads also seem to do - thinking they have superior minds because of their eductation, or because they have made vast sums of money compared to the working man in the street or in a mundane factory job.

One must question, who is more dishonest and currupt - the Tories or Labour - well at the moment in time I would have to say that the Tories and TM look the least trustworthy.

Fred1new - 04 Dec 2018 11:53 - 10487 of 12628

It is interesting to me that some prominent Brexiters including John Redwood and Reese Mogg have interest in Investment Funds outside the UK.

Which way are they betting?

Clocktower - 04 Dec 2018 12:04 - 10488 of 12628

Fred if you were responsible for other peoples money would you not agree that it is wise to hedge your bets and spread your investment funds wide, as you are saying JP & RM have done.

Do you not hold funds/property in other dominions, and a private aircraft to get the hell out of the UK if or when the next war takes place?

Dil - 04 Dec 2018 12:34 - 10489 of 12628

Who we going to war with CT, Scotland ?

Stan - 04 Dec 2018 12:38 - 10490 of 12628

No Wales if your not careful 😀

cynic - 04 Dec 2018 12:54 - 10491 of 12628

next serious war will be about the control of water

Fred1new - 04 Dec 2018 12:57 - 10492 of 12628

Manuel,

In that case, it will probably be your own!

Clocktower - 04 Dec 2018 13:02 - 10493 of 12628

Civil War should not be discounted or the threat from Russia let alone be drawn into one in the Middle East, and watch your back with China in the South Pacific.

Not to forget the Aliens. :-)
