MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

There you are GF, nice to see your back. We've missed your steading words. This has been all over the place, I think the lowest point was 198. EK and his merry men have really pushed this down. No news I'm afraid. I took advantage of the drop and topped up. I'm a bit overweight now.

Hi Mickey just getting used to the boards again, strange how you lose your touch when you are only away for a short period.

Yes I see Evils in this one short on the back of in my opinion a defunked broker note from KBC Peel Hunt. I think I warned of this note before I went on holiday. He does say that some accuse him of going short to have a pop at Mike Walters, which he says is clap trap, Im not so sure considering there recent run ins. Anyway Im staying firmly on hold and may even add if it falls lower.

Some of these poor devils following Evil will be really hurt badly when the next news comes out of the blue.

cheers GF.

Welcome back GF, I trust you come back fully refreshed and charged up.
This share has really been all over the place, but looks reluctant to fall under 200p.
waiting for some more good news.
Cheers.

goldfinger - 06 Apr 2005 11:23 - 1058 of 2444

Me too porky. As ever Evil K admits he doesnt know much about Bios and is relying on a third party analyst. Lets wait and see if he as the nerve to stick around when the next big news (not far off) is released.

cheers GF.

Tail between legs I think.

goldfinger - 06 Apr 2005 15:56 - 1065 of 2444

Have heard from Evil K that the Analyst who wrote the report at Peel Hunt as been asked to appologise, (just who to I dont know). But word is that he wont. In fact it appears he is going to elaborate more on his first note.

SHOULD BE GOOD FOR A LAUGH.

cheers GF.

049balt - 06 Apr 2005 16:12 - 1066 of 2444

gf, that is very interesting, what are EK intentions?

goldfinger - 06 Apr 2005 16:18 - 1067 of 2444

He says to stick in there and as a 40p target.

Hes using bully boy tactics again. I hope he and especially his followers get blown away when the next announcement is made.

cheers GF. PS, the man is relying on an analyst who lets face it is having to re -draft his first note because it was in effect twaddle.

mickeyskint - 06 Apr 2005 16:50 - 1068 of 2444

Well said GF. We'll stuff them yet!

doughboy66 - 06 Apr 2005 20:42 - 1069 of 2444

I have just received an email from t1ps.com with Evil airing his views on MMG being over hyped and that he is staying short on them.He does admit that he has just got stuffed by staying short on Eidos,so lets hope we can all keep calm until the next good news is announced and stuff him big time with MMG.
p.s Good to have you back GF it wasn`t the same without you.

hlyeo98 - 06 Apr 2005 23:26 - 1070 of 2444

I agree. Evil is not always right and I'm sure he will get stuffed with MMG. He deserves it and so do all who follows him.

banjomick - 07 Apr 2005 00:20 - 1071 of 2444

Just a question regarding 'shorting'(only learning) if you please.Has it always been around or is it a relatively new practice?
Just my opinion mind but surely the deliberate act of gambling on a share going down to make a profit (take on board that the downside can be worse)is both detrimental to the company (maybe only short term)but also to the market and country as a whole!
Never seen this shorting or blatant shorting since i've been doing this hobby (over the last 2 years or so)in any of my shares .Companies, especially in the AIM market, must have a big fear of this shorting buisness. To have a bloke who admits that he does not know the field that he is shorting in and then to have the power to gain followers appears a tad unfair-lol
Or in this case, because it's still at the 'if'stage do the shorters have a point so the company has to prove it's worth sooner to avoid falling sp??
Anyway it all appears a bit clearer now after reading through the above,if you invest in a good company that eventually does good then you have no problems from the shorters playing games....
