Ever seen the 'little dinosaur'? You see it when you are using Chrome and your connection drops.

Well.....

1. Open a New Tab in the browser.
2. Click on the dinosaur which appears above the 'Unable to connect to the internet' message.

As soon as you do, the creature will start running across a desert landscape filled with cacti. You can jump these by pressing the Spacebar.

The further you run the dinosaur, the faster it gets and the more points you score.

NB. If the dinosaur catches on a cactus then it's 'Game Over!'

Woah! Chances are, you are now back online! :-)

I have Apple TV skinny; very Apple orientated obviously but you can use it for YouTube, Netflix etc. You can view stuff from your computer via AirPlay. I like it!

Thanks Kim - it's for my daughter - she was going to buy Apple TV and I suggested the Chromecast at £30 as a cheaper alternative.

Her main use is to view (I)phone media on her TV.

Being a woman - she went out and bought the Apple TV box yesterday afternoon - why ask me then!!!

Lol! A second opinion is always good, absorb it then ignore it! :o) She has made a wise choice though!

Hey Skinners,

I've got a Chromecast. It's brilliant for streaming anything that's pre-recorded (eg. Netflix), but falls down a little bit with live events (eg. BT/Sky Sports). I guess it depends upon the bandwidth of your internet connection - mine isn't good and I regularly also go through a VPN.

Overall, though - fantastic! You just get whatever you want up on your tablet or phone, and away you go.

skinny - 16 Dec 2014 08:33 - 10717 of 11003

Hilary - thanks.

I would have gone for the Chromecast as they are fully Skyed up and are only really interested in the phone/laptop media aspect.

BTW - In true Apple fashion, you have to buy the HDMI cable as its not included in the box!

At another £30 or so for teh Chromecast, what's wrong with going for both?

After running brilliantly for about 4 years, my son's gaming PC's video card appears to have failed. Windows fails to start up and BSODs with an error message relating to nvlddmks.sys. Also, just as it is POST-ing, I can see green blocks/lines. I am quite certain it is the video card that's gone. Can anyone suggest a good replacement card?
