Thanks Kim - it's for my daughter - she was going to buy Apple TV and I suggested the Chromecast at £30 as a cheaper alternative.
Her main use is to view (I)phone media on her TV.
Being a woman - she went out and bought the Apple TV box yesterday afternoon - why ask me then!!!

Lol! A second opinion is always good, absorb it then ignore it! :o) She has made a wise choice though!

Hey Skinners,
I've got a Chromecast. It's brilliant for streaming anything that's pre-recorded (eg. Netflix), but falls down a little bit with live events (eg. BT/Sky Sports). I guess it depends upon the bandwidth of your internet connection - mine isn't good and I regularly also go through a VPN.
Overall, though - fantastic! You just get whatever you want up on your tablet or phone, and away you go.

Hilary - thanks.
I would have gone for the Chromecast as they are fully Skyed up and are only really interested in the phone/laptop media aspect.
BTW - In true Apple fashion, you have to buy the HDMI cable as its not included in the box!

If it's for gaming, then as big a RAM you can get and as fast processor speed as you can afford.
Most graphics cards seem to offer 2gb memory now. Nvidia GTX 970 now offer 4gb memory. Not sure if £240 is too much!
