Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Janus - 27 Oct 2004 07:17 - 1072 of 2372

Biopharmaceutical company Bioprogress fell further as traders said a number of contracts for difference were being unwound. However, when the stock tumbled to 94p dealers speculated the group could be vulnerable to a takeover approach. The shares closed down 3.5 at 104.5p

Good luck all enjoy the ride..

bradley007 - 27 Oct 2004 08:36 - 1074 of 2372

Morning all...more fun and games today?

I notice Man made the announcement on more holdings yesterday,
covering their asses on large CFD positions no doubt..

i wonder how many got "unwound" yesterday....

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 13:45 - 1075 of 2372

HELLO is there anybody here !

Jumpin - 27 Oct 2004 13:49 - 1076 of 2372

Why, are you lonely?

Maybe they are all watching it go up today?

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 13:59 - 1077 of 2372

You could be right jumpin , with there fingers crossed,i still think i will drop lucky at around 1.00,,but till then,i`ll stay lonely and out of it,whats your buy price.

Jumpin - 27 Oct 2004 14:04 - 1078 of 2372

I bought initially at 64.5p and have added on the way up, so that has pulled the average up..

Averaging up rather than down, much better ;)

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 14:10 - 1079 of 2372

You did well there , are you a long term holder.

Jumpin - 27 Oct 2004 14:13 - 1080 of 2372

Yes and no.. I trade it as well as holding some!
Initial purchase was this year BTW around July time, I think

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 14:19 - 1081 of 2372

What has caused the sell off recently, day traders jumping ship?

bradley007 - 27 Oct 2004 14:33 - 1082 of 2372

Daves... NASADAQ listing was not spectacular which
some speculators were hoping it would be... Director sold
some stock (albeit to take up options) and I believe the
shorters were out in force. Press reckons it was unwinding
of CFD positions.. Man (of man direct CFDs fame) announced
that they own 5%, 99% sure this was to cover their CFD
positions, so a big unwinding of that could have caused
the 14M volume yesterday.

Still reckon there will be an announcement soon on a new deal.

I was interested to read that when the price hit 94p yesterday
"traders" reckoned it could trigger a take over bid.... love the
bulletin bvoard rumour mill!!!!

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 14:39 - 1083 of 2372

Bradley007,i wish i was here yesterday that was a great price to buy at bugger,i still hope to get on board at a quid but i wont pay any more,,only time will tell if that goes my way,be lucky.

bradley007 - 27 Oct 2004 15:02 - 1084 of 2372

I think the pull back showed a lot of support
in the nineties, IMHO the MM,s have a lot of stock at
110 to offload at around the 112 level, so will stay
there for a while and they will try to get it
there as soon as...NASDAQ trading at 20.40 (135 sterling)
so that must go down or the UK (by far the biggest volume
should go up.... a little simplistic but thats my plan!

Big Al - 27 Oct 2004 16:17 - 1085 of 2372

bradley - noticed you mention Man and CFD's. I use GNI, which is part of Man to trade CFD's and as far as I'm aware they never keep stock in house. Every trade is put immediately and directly to the market, so not sure what this is about apart from declaring an awful lot of CFD traders are trading BPRG.

..........but then that should surprise no-one! ;-))

bradley007 - 27 Oct 2004 16:41 - 1086 of 2372

Big Al... I spoke to Man today about opening an account
on the CFD platform, and they said they offlay all their
net trades... i.e whatever net position they have they
cover it in the market... so there must be a lot of
cfd trades out there....unless yesterday was a big dump
(so to speak).. I guess we will find out if Man make another
announcemenbt about their holdings (they must announce when
their position goes through a percentage point, up or down).
and they have to report on T1... apparently

superrod - 27 Oct 2004 17:58 - 1087 of 2372

guys
bought yesterday for 99.38 and sold today for 107.25.....like the pratt i am i thought i was calling the bottom. my guardian angel made me buy 5mins before the news. the big problem i see here is that its stuffed with traders and why not? play them at their own game i say. aimho

will be back in at 102 or less ( if it ever happens )

emailpaul1 - 27 Oct 2004 19:38 - 1088 of 2372

What's happening with this stock-been away

Big Al - 27 Oct 2004 19:56 - 1089 of 2372

bradley - I can confirm that I see all my GNI CFD trades go through on the trades blotter since I started with them about 2 1/2 years ago.

I suppose the news of their holdings is probably the cumulative amount held by traders, but can't be sure on this. Might ask my account handler next time we speak.

Jumpin - 27 Oct 2004 20:02 - 1090 of 2372
