Fred1new - 31 Oct 2004 17:08

Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

I use Sharescope, Moneyam, Barclays, Comdirect and IC

In my portfolios would be helpful!

I am feeling thirsty again!

Stan - 28 Jul 2008 12:02 - 1075 of 1427

"I am feeling thirsty again!"...your not the only one Fred -): suggestions and dates please?

Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays are best for me.

Fred1new - 28 Jul 2008 16:11 - 1076 of 1427

Tuesday, Friday, Sunday sound suitable then. 8-##)

Don't mind time,place or date.

Stan - 28 Jul 2008 16:27 - 1077 of 1427

As the weather's so nice how about this Thursday at 1pm ish, I'll let someone else decide which venue? nice to get one with a garden (with hopefully no smokers in it).

Fred1new - 28 Jul 2008 18:36 - 1078 of 1427

Stan, It is p it down here at the moment.

This Thursday is difficult for me, just arranged car overhaul.

I think possibly short notice for some.

Week Wednesday or Thursday at 1pm would be preferable.

Perhaps the Brindley Arms.

Or wherever you fancy.

survived87 - 28 Jul 2008 19:41 - 1079 of 1427

>Brindley Arms

Do you mean Barton Arms? If you're planning to be there for a full afternoon, I could join you towards the end of your session next Wednesday or Thursday at about 4.20....

PS:(Today) Cains Beer Company Plc. said its first-half
pretax loss widened significantly, hit by declining consumer confidence, a
historic lack of investment in its retail business, rising input costs, the
smoking ban and changes to duty rate penalties.

Hi Fred ................. How you keeping? ............
and hows your portfolio?

Regards
Amar

Fred1new - 29 Jul 2008 09:50 - 1081 of 1427

AMAR, Surviving, Portfolio has been caned, but still alive and hopeful.

Survivor, don't mind Barton Arms, but the Brindley is in the old Gas street basin, where the canal boats moor and is more central and easier to get to from station.

(Back of the Hyatt hotel)

Don't really mind.

Happy to make the meeting at 3pm earlier or later

Stan - 29 Jul 2008 09:58 - 1082 of 1427

I propose Thursday (next Week) at the Bartons Arms at 1.30pm. Can't make the Wednesday as I will be helping to save the Brewing Industry by attending the Great British Beer Fest. -):

Theme of The Meeting: How to Short the Footsie without using CFDs or Speadbetting.

Never seen so much rain last night over here...what a thunderstorm.

Stan - 29 Jul 2008 10:01 - 1083 of 1427

Must have been typing so didn't see your post Fred, yes 3pm at the Brindley seems more convenient for me as well.

ED: All in favour say i, any other dates, times please post.

Bit of a departure this one as they don't do Real Ale (according to the write up) but seems to have a good ambiance, so hopefully quite.

Well done the Council then..at last.

Fred1new - 29 Jul 2008 19:29 - 1085 of 1427

Aye.

If there is no real ale there is a lot of water!

Stan - 29 Jul 2008 19:30 - 1086 of 1427

After the day before that may suffice -):

Survivor, Thank you. I am bringing my bodyguards with me as usual. (Just in case Ruth is on the prowl.)
Look forward to sharing my stock miseries.

Which country is 5501 in at the moment?

survived87 - 30 Jul 2008 20:57 - 1089 of 1427

>Which country is 5501 in at the moment?

Don't know..... Perhaps the Land of Durians.... ;-)

PS: Saw Marstons Pedigree going for 1.99 in the City Centre earlier this week .... at the bar opposite the Hippodrome .....

55011 - 31 Jul 2008 00:28 - 1090 of 1427

S87 - I hadn't forgotten. Don't worry..........

Wetherspoons is usually pretty good on price, if not on service.

Why is Fred's portfolio down? I thought he was the Wiz.........!!! Or he thought he was!!!!!!!!!

I'm quite enjoying a daily variance of no more than +/- 375 or so, these days.

Stan - 31 Jul 2008 09:51 - 1091 of 1427

"I presume it's Thursday?" Yes.

Have a look at your emails for one of next weeks discussion topics.

Amar, get your MAM email thingy set up.

Fred1new - 31 Jul 2008 11:39 - 1092 of 1427

5501, I listened to a guy who said ACCSYS was a winner.

I think there must be a horse still running out there under that name.
