I have it on very good authority (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) that its EK going long.

If only!

On buys like that a man could be tempted to sell his mother in law and invest the proceeds in SEO. Now where is she hiding?

Do brokers like orders for 10 shares?

The oily one

Hi All,

If you thought the last few RNS's were to halt profit taking as per the RHPS claim, that is incorrect, Stanelco had already planned to release information on Biotec products as soon as they could. I even posted a few weeks ago, that there would be several RNS's over the next few weeks and months, on Biotec products.

If you think the last few RNS's were impressive, wait until you see the next few :)

Cheers,
PM

Trading of 2,266,872 bought and only 115,564 sold, so it's only heading one way later :)

14p???

LOL, sorry could not resist!

I disagree about the RNS though PM. This weeks one was purely for that purpose. It was totally irrelevant to mention Greenseal and Biotech in that RNS unless it was for the purpose of calming those who felt that Greenseal was dead in the water.

Given the fact that SEO had released many RNSs over the past four months, I don't think that it was much of a risk saying that they would be releasing more in the coming weeks and months. They're releasing news as often as the kids in "Bugsey Malone" were throwing custard pies in that memorable gangsters' saloon bar fight.

Lets hope that they hit the 'target' more often than some of the "Bugsey Malone" kids did.

Having said that I do feel it in my waters that something big is on the cards in the next couple of weeks. Lets hope the Philadelphia cheese is as creamy and tastes as good as the commercials say.

Oily/QC Hi,

Mock all you like about RNS's, or even imply I might have been guessing, but these words are from an E-Mail to me 4 weeks ago ....

"I hope that in the next few weeks we will be able to enlighten the market on just how good Biotec is, and how many gems exist in it."

So who's calling who's bluff now ?

Cheers,
PM

qc - 07 Oct 2005 11:08 - 10763 of 27111

Not about calling bluff PM. The issue is clear in my eyes. If there is all this good news coming, which if you say there is then who am I to mock, there was absolutely no need whatsoever to add anything about ASDA if it were not to stem the flow of doubters.

That is the only point I am making.

Biscuit - 07 Oct 2005 11:17 - 10764 of 27111

Just an update to keep Stanelco's investor shareholders updated as to progress. As simple as that. No need for the folly of idle speculation. Speculators should not be on this thread, they should be on the Traders thread.

Oilywag - 07 Oct 2005 11:44 - 10765 of 27111

PM

I shall just say "ditto" to everything in qc's post above.

The oily one

paulmasterson1 - 07 Oct 2005 11:46 - 10766 of 27111

QC Hi,

Yes that bit might have been, but RHPS are claiming that the whole point of the RNS's was for that reason, and as I am pointing out, that was not the real reason for those RNS's, it was to "enlighten the market on just how good Biotec is, and how many gems exist in it"

Thats the difference between the fact that management are not simply issuing RNS to support the price(as the bashers claim), but are in fact updating us on Biotec products. Updates on progress in other areas is always in Stanelco RNS's, it's not a recent phenomenon.

Cheers,
PM

Paul,

do you have some specific knowledge of what will be in 'the next few' (if you do I'm not expecting you to divulge the information here)?

Worrier - 07 Oct 2005 12:32 - 10768 of 27111

At the Birmingham Packaging Show, the staff did infer that they had uncovered some excellent patents with the Biotec purchase. They just cannot spread themselves too thinly- need to focus upon what lines will get the SEO cash till ringing quickest.
I am confident that the Mgmt are aware of this and are directing their energies accordingly.

Not worried

bhunt1910 - 07 Oct 2005 12:41 - 10769 of 27111

Worrier - I picked up exactly the same message when I spoke woth Ian B - he said that they had to first of all concentrate their efforts on the low hanging fruit - but that they had discovered a whole raft of patents that could be brought to market once they had statred getting the cash flowing

Cigarette butts go green
08 October 2005

Magazine issue 2520
The biodegradable cigarette butts are supposedly better for smokers as well as the environment

It's a PR challenge on a par with sprucing up the black death's public image. But for the people marketing tobacco there is a glimmer of hope in the form of biodegradable cigarette filters that are supposedly better for smokers as well as for the environment.

The compostable filters are made from food-grade starch, the carbohydrate polymer in foods such as potatoes and rice. The British company that is developing them, Southampton-based Stanelco, which already makes biodegradable packaging, says it is in talks with cigarette manufacturers in Europe, North America and Asia about using them to replace existing filters.

"There is no safe cigarette, but that doesn't mean that they should not be cleaner and greener," says Howard White, Stanelco's president. Stanelco says the butts will decompose in just two months, whereas existing filters made of the synthetic polymer cellulose acetate never biodegrade, creating 500,000 tonnes of pollution a year ...

Starch-Based Cigarette Filter Can Reduce Environmental Impact
Source: Environmental News Network, 2005-10-03

Intro:
ORLANDO, Florida Cigarette filters could soon be made of starch according to research at Biotec, a joint owned subsidiary of Stanelco and SP Metal. Starch is an organic compound found in products such as potatoes and rice, meaning smokers would not have to worry that fibers from the current filters, made of cellulose acetate, are entering their bodies. Starch based filters are biodegradable and compostable, dramatically lowering their impact on the environment.

I have seen not one single investor work out the calculations for the 'current rate' of greenseal take up, now confirmed by EVO as 20 per month .... so here we go ....

20 x 35,000 fitting = 700,000
20 x 25,000 licence = 500,000

Profit of 600,000 in total ? .... and every month will come another 600,000 profit !!!!

That soon obliterates the loss ....

Stanelco PLC

Financial Highlights

Turnover of 629,000 (2004: 320,000)

Loss before taxation of 960,000 (2004: 490,000)
