Galleon Holdings (GON)

banjomick - 15 Jun 2004 08:48

INTELLIGENT INVESTING WITH BANJO,well sort of! (Ed-hmmmm-lol)

Galleon Holdings plc has three key divisions:Galleon Entertainment for entertainment type IP,Croco Worldwide for product IP,Phoenix for interactive TV services for broadcasters in China/South East Asia which includes Robot Information Technology (Lushy Assets ('Yunbo')) who are a wireless interactive platform service provider in China who will work alongside Phoenix to enable GON to hold on to a greater part of the generated revenue and so increase the profit margin......think that's the plan! :-)

This makes Galleon Holdings a 'One Stop Shop' to develop and complete new and existing IP's.

Apollo's Pad

Apollo's Pad isn't just a nightclub - it's a "comedy meets music" entertainment property available worldwide on-air, online, and on mobile. To promote the launch, Galleon Entertainment turned to Oddcast to deploy avatars that match the characters on the show. Create your avatar, accessorize, and step onto the comedy stage. Tell your best joke, send it to friends, and post it to the gallery - if site visitors like it, you could win a prize.

Skunk Fu! Kicks to Cartoon Network

Friday, May 23, 2008
By: Ryan Ball

As further proof that Kung Fu-fighting animals are in vogue these days, Cartoon Network has picked up Skunk Fu! from Cake Distribution and plans to begin airing the animated series in the U.S. on Tuesday, May 27 at 10 a.m. (ET/PT). The show should benefit a bit from all the hype surrounding DreamWorks Animations feature film Kung Fu Panda, which hits theaters on June 6.

Created by Aidan Harte, Skunk Fu! is a series of 52 13-minute episodes that revolve around a young western skunk learning Kung Fu from a wise old Panda in China so that he can help the resistance fight against the evil Dragon and his army of Ninja Monkeys. The show features madcap humor and adventure themes aimed at kids aged 6-11

The Cartoon Network broadcast will provide a fertile basis for the further roll out of Skunk Fu! in the United States, coments Ed Galton, managing director of Cake Distribution. We already knew from our first outing on the Kids WB! that our little Skunk has legs and this is the dream opportunity to see the series blossom further through much improved exposure to its target audience.

Skunk Fu! is a Cartoon Saloon, Cake Ent. and Telegael co-production for TG4 in Ireland and Super RTL in Germany. The series is currently airing on the BBC, France 5 and Super RTL, among other international broadcasters. All audiovisual exploitation rights are controlled by Cake Distribution and all licensing and merchandising rights are controlled by Galleon Plc.

User-generated comedy app set to create a buzz

Qube has been up to its elbows in Social Media Marketing activity of late we've just launched a new user-generated comedy app to get users involved with a new entertainment show.

To reach a fragmented youth audience for the launch of the new online show, Apollo's Pad, we found new and innovative ways to attract web visitors. Meet the comedy stage.

This innovative web-based app allows visitors to create lip-synced cartoon avatars to tell their jokes and compete for top place in an online league table - and it's going to get budding comedians online buzzing.

Built by New York based developer Oddcast, the app lets people choose a cartoon character and customise its appearance then record a joke or comedy routine to which their character is animated.

As new comedy creations are posted to the gallery, other people rate the jokes to decide who's the funniest.

The comedy stage is an integral part of the Apollo's Pad website, a unique comedy entertainment offering produced by Galleon Holdings plc and backed by Sony BMG.

Qube Media was commissioned to develop and manage the digital strategy for Apollo's Pad, including launching and marketing the show online.
