FDA clearance for Cystic Fibrosis DNA Test |
Sales of the eSensor instrument and CF test will commence in the first half of 2006 as planned.. . James White, CEO of Osmetech said: 'Gaining FDA clearance for our first microarray based test developed for our new eSensorTM molecular diagnostics instrument is a major step forward for our Molecular Diagnostics Division and will help to establish Osmetech as a key player in the fast growing moleculardiagnostics market. In addition, this FDA clearance helps to validate our microarray technology for routine use in the laboratory.Critical Care DivisionThe Division has a strong product portfolio and is well placed to continue the growth of instrument placements throughout the world, leading to revenues from proprietary consumables for a number of years to come.Sales of OPTI instruments and consumables remained strong resulting from increased sales of the new touchscreen version of the long-established OPTI (CCA). In 2006 we will start to see an important contribution to sales from the new OPTI LION portable electrolyte analyser and the OPTI R blood gas and electrolyte analyser with reusable consumable as these products are rolled out internationally.' Molecular Diagnostics DivisionFollowing FDA approval of the eSensorTM platform Osmetech are now looking to progress discussions with strategic partners who are looking for cost effective and easy to use instrumentation and consumables to work on other complex assays both in the healthcare and non healthcare markets. The next Osmetech Molecular test targeted for FDA submission will be the CYP 450 pharmacogenomics assay, which is currently in development. James White, CEO of Osmetech commented: 'We have been delighted with the rapid integration of the CMS business acquired in July. The powerful combination of the eSensor product together with OPTI GENE provides Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics with an excellent position in this rapidly developing and growing market sector. Both products remain on schedule for launch and revenue generation in the first half of 2006' |
Sales to year end up over 40% |
Osmetech has reported a strong rise in sales in the latter part of 2005 with growth driven byabove-forecast revenues at its Critical Care blood gas analysis division.. Sales for the Critical Care division in calendar year 2005 exceeded $14.7m, representing an increase of over 60% compared to the calendar year 2004. Approximately half of this overall growth is due to sales to veterinary distribution partner, IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. |
Vetstat Exceeds Idexx Expectations |
Sales of the VetStat electrolyte and blood gas analyser have been very encouraging and continue to exceed expectations. IDEXX's sales successes and continuing marketing efforts should result in further strong growth for the foreseeable future. As the installed base of instruments becomes established, revenues from proprietary consumables are expected to increase as a proportion of this veterinary business. Following a deal with leading US vetinary hopsital chain Banfield, Idexx are contracted to supply an additional 450 Vetstat devices over the coming year.Good progress is also being made with IDEXX on the development and supply contract to create a new platform for measuring critical care parameters based on Osmetech's proprietary optical fluorescence technology and consumables. It is anticipated that this market leading product is on target for launch late 2006/2007. |

Windy
VetStat is due to be launched at the North American Veterinary Conference which runs from 8-12 Jan. So there's plenty of time yet. However there is a chance the company will not notify the market as they (OMH) are not doing the launch. The PR department seems to have improved recently so fingers crossed that we get an RNS.

Well no RNS. Can't say I'm that shocked. Until we applied investor pressure we weren't going to get an RNS about the Sysmex deal and we weren't going to get an RNS about Elenora either. I say give it a couple of days until the NAVC show has finished then can someone else email Osmetech and ask them why we have had no RNS about Vetstat when we already know about it because Idexx have been quite happy to tell anybody that asked.
I guess EVO and their cronies want a bigger slice of the cake than we think.

thats the thing with this share the price/change/news never really co inside with the share movements its as though they dont want this baby to take off and then move in for a cheap buyout when all the hard work has been done. something not quite right as we are a company 10x stronger than 2 years ago with more $ in the bank and when i spoke 2 JW he even told me there would be no more tapping up share holders in the near future (mind u i suppose he would say that).
one thing would b nice is rather than telling us about all these new products being launched why not let us know the kind of people buying/renting them and maybe to inform us on future plans on driving sales as all i ever read is what they are launching.
point is im sure we all would like to see the back of the 5p mark!!!! and maybe see 6-7p may-june

Mondays sells and the drop in price I think are over done.
I suspect the price rose last week partly because of short termers jumping in expecting an RNS about the Idexx launch who bailed when we didn't get one today and those selling who have fallen for the bollocks badly researched article in Chronic Investor.
We may see a rebound during this week coming week.

Having nothing better to do with my boring night I thought I'd go on a little rampathon.
I've kicked off a discussion thread on this USA board in the hope of alerting our American chums to the potential of Osmetech.

spoke to david sandilands from osmtech invester relation last week interim due in two weeks sounds like it will contain some positive new re vetstat product, he said they have not released any new about the product as it was idexx promoting the product so any news about the deal will not come out until osmetechs interim comes out but was very keen to say that the news flow from osmetech about deals and products will come as i siad to him that the news flow from them is few and very far between his reaction was to say that so companys will release news to say it is wednesday as it were has with osmetech they would only release new when they felt the timing was right was the company and sharholders alike whatever that is supposed to mean ;o when i asked about a possible conslidation of shares again he said it would be possiblity in the future but only be to done the benifit of the company and to the shareholders so let's wait and see, with plenty of products on offer from this company the prospect bold well and let's hope that they don't consoliadate for a few years to come.

micram,
Don't take the trade quantities at face value. Over the last few month there have have numerous large trades made at 3.5 quite often T trades. There is a suscpicion that it could be Elenora adding to their pile again.
If the volume of shares traded at 3.5 yesterday had been all sells then most certainly the price would be far lower than it is now.
windys,
thanks for that.
